Last modified time of a folder

Hi All,
We have a requirement wherein we want to know if there was any change made to any of the messages present in a folder after a particular time. The changes can be anything like marking the message as read/unread/delete or if there was a new message etc. So is there a way from which I can know the last modified time of the folder. Or is there any other way this can be achieved.
Rgrds,
Nitin.

Alternatively, we have another method called "Change Notifications" to asynchronously identify any changes to the messages in the folders. This functionality is available in Sun Messaging Server. I m not sure about the other mail servers.
For example, when user deletes a message from the mail store, then we will get a 'delete notification' to the queue with the message UID that got deleted. And if there is a flag state change, then we will get a flag notifications etc, Hope this helps you.
Thanks

  • Folders last modified time stamp are not updated in Windows 7

    After changing any .cpp file in Visual Studio, the last modified time stamp for the file's folder
    IS NOT updated. What's happening ?
    However when I change a Word (.docx) file, the last modified time stamp for the file's folder
    IS updated ! How come ?

    Hi,
    If you thought this issue gets worse and if you have already set NtfsDisblesLastAccessUpdate to 0, then please revoke it to 1.
    From the above Blog we can see that in Windows 7, the "Last Modified" field on log files is not updated when a program attempts to open the file or the utility is stopped, this is a design change to NTFS , becase we cache the metadata for
    folder contents and do not refresh it until a handle is closed on an open file or an explicit call is made to retrieve the properties of an individual file.
    Per your current issue that even if you closed these Vistual Studio files, the timestamp still didn't update. Please try the following and check whether any of them work:
    - open the file in a second program
    - view the proprties of the file
    - "dir <filename>" at a command prompt
    In addition, if you edit these Vistual Studio files with Notepad(Before doing that, please close all the programs include Vistual Studio) and try to reproduce the issue, does the issue still occur?

  • Algorithm or pseudo code sought for getting the latest last modified time..

    Hi I need to write a program in java that lists the latest last modified time among the files in folders and its subfolder and also gets the size of the folder. In my case, average folder size is 9 GB. Could you please suggest any algorithm to achieve this?? I tried to implement it by gathering last modified times from folders and its subfolders recursively and storing the info in Vector and finally
    getting the max of the last modified times but it was horribly slow and memory hogging.

    Remove the part that stores the data in a Vector. You don't need to store any data to add up a series of numbers. And you don't need to store any data to find the largest of a series of numbers either. Just scan the directory recursively as you are already doing and keep track of the sum of the sizes and the max of the last-modified dates.

  • How to check the last modified time of a file?

    Does anyone know how to use LabVIEW to check the "last modified time" of a file?
    Thanks.

    This works just fine here (Windows XP, LabVIEW 8.5.1).
    (Actually, if you look closely, it is off by one second. I guess the file properties dialog rounds in a different way )
    Do you have more information? (e.g LabVIEW version, OS, etc.). Can you show us the code that fails?

  • How to get the last modified time for directory?

    Hi,
    I have to accomplish this.
    A folder c:\myfolder can literally contain anything files.. sub directories, fiels in sub directories.
    I have a thread monitoring c:\myfolder, basically people can dump files in any order into that directory and I have to trigger something when there is no activity on c:\myfolder for 10 secs.
    I tried lastModified() with File("c:\myfolder") but that seems to be working only if there is some change on root level of c:\myfolder, for eg if I have a sub folder c:\myfolder\subfolder and I copy some file into c:\myfolder\subfolder, then the lastModified() doesnt seem to be updatiing on the mail folder "c:\myfolder"
    Is there a way I can handle this situation?
    Any suggession is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    I was looking to accomplish this using simple java
    code without any 3rd party involvment.Then you will have to monitor all the directories that people might dump files into. You can't expect Java to automatically deal with things that the operating system doesn't support just because those things happen to be your requirements.

    I have a requirement that i want user details from OIM(11gr1) User form based on some time stamp.
    suppose my time stamp is 201401011130.
    And i changed one user in user form at 201401011200 (let sau user name is mahesh)
    now when i run the java code based on the time stamp i want mahesh details. How can i do this.
    Please let me know.
    Regards
    Mahesh

    This is how you can run sql query.
    String query="write sql query";
    Connection con=Platform.getOperationalDS().getConnection();
    Statement st=con.prepareStatement(query);    // PreparedStatement is preferable instead of Statement
    ResultSet rs=st.executeQuery();
    while(rs.next())
    String userlogin =rs.String("usr_login");

  • BAPI -  user last modified Name, Date and Time in SU01 of a Particular User

    HI Experts,
    After searched a lot in SDN , i am posting this thread,
    I want to know any  Standard BAPI  to give LAST modified User name , time and Date in SU01 of a particular User.
    I checked * BAPI_USER_GET_DETAIL* , its giving LAST modified  time and Date in SU01, But I want Last modified user name as well.
    I have 2 questions related with the above scenario,
    1) Which BAPI gives the details of LAST modified User name , time and Date in SU01 of a particular User.
    2) Any Table is there to give details of LAST modified User name , time and Date in SU01 of a particular User for a time period ,
    For eg : 1 month, if i would have set the time line, it should give the three details .
    Regards,
    Saravana.S

    Hi,
    I am not sure, if there would be any BAPI particularly for giving such particular information. Even if you can, you  might have to call 2 BAPIs, one for finding the list of such users modified within 1 month eg., and then getting the mod date and mod time.
    BAPI_USER_GETLIST - this can be used for searching.. but tricky
    then you have to call another bapi for getting the details.
    One option is you can create a new Z BAPI using the table and get the results.

  • Compare current time and date with last modified?

    Compare current time and date with last modified?
    What is the ideal way to compared the last modified from the File class with the current date and time? last modifed value from File class is a long.

    So what do I do to compare whether the current date and time and later than the lastModified ?
    if(file.lastModified() < System.currentTimeMillis()) {
    Like that?That tests whether the last modified time is before "now"--that is if the file was not modified in the future, so, yes.

  • Script to Find latest Modify date, and email alert if last modify is older than 4hrs or so

    So, I want to monitor a directory, and get an alert if any file in the directory was not modified in the last, 4 hours or so.
    I think I'm on the right track, but I'm missing some pieces here.  Any suggestions?
    Here's what I got so far:
    ::Set time and date to use later if needed
    set currentTime_Date=%time% %date%
    ::For loop to pull the last file (I can't seem to pull the last modify time/date with it... this is where I need a hand)
    FOR /F "delims=" %a IN ('DIR "*.*" /B /O:D') DO SET NewestFile=%a
    ::Email latest file using blat
    blat.exe -to [email protected] -server [email protected] -f [email protected] -subject "File Checker" -body "test" -attach %NewestFile%
    (Not sure if I can use the variable for my newest file here or not)

  • Getting the "last modified" property of a file located on HTTP server

    Hello
    I'd like to read a file (on http server) according to his "last modified" time. Can anybody tell me how to get the "last modified" property in a J2ME/CLDC application?
    Thanks in advance

    the file that you want get is in the server?
    you can use java.io.File.lastModified() which in J2SE to get a long num.
    then you can transform long int to orther class that you need ,and do this in server.
    at the end of all you can send this info to J2ME/CLDC app with stream.

    Please don't take this as criticism.  Often users will post in multiple locations and get varying levels of help from each place they posted.  This makes for a fragmented discussion where one group of individuals aren't collaborating with a separate group of individuals who are working on the same problem.  Posting in both places is fine, but I think what helps is having a link from one post to the other, so that individuals in one group can see the discussion taking place in the other.  This helps avoiding suggesting the same solution twice, and help come up with solutions neither group has come up with yet.
    At first glance the two posts looked similar enough that I thought this would be the case where the two groups can at least see the discussion taking place elsewhere.  If the two posts aren't related at all then I apologize for providing the link between them.

  • File modified time

    Hi,
    how can i make subversive use file commit time as the last modified time of the file on my disk? It seems these times differ from svn-log shown times.
    For instance with Tortoise svn client, you have a setting similar to this:
    .subversion/config
    [miscellany]
    use-commit-times = yes
    BR,
    igor

    Hello!
    As far as I know, this:
    .subversion/config
    [miscellany]
    use-commit-times = yes
    is a Subversion option. So, it should work for both JavaHL and SVN Kit the same way if set. And since I additionally did check the SVN Kit code, I can assure you that it handles the option.
    So, everything should work just fine. If there is a problem with the option, please tell what exactly it is, since the option itself does not seem to require any special handling on the Subversive plug-in's part.

  • How to get last modified date and time of a file which is in apache server.

    Hi ,
    I need to get last modified date and time of a file in remote machine.
    This file is in remote machine which has apache server installed.
    I am trying to get this information by connecting to apache server from client by giving absolute URI of the file to file object.
    URI is got from apache server URL by using toURI method.
    when I use lastModified method , its throwing exception , because scheme of URI is not file.
    I can't give scheme as file because ftp server is not installed on that server
    Is there any other way to get this information .

    No, unless you can use an FTP client.

  • How to find the Last modified date and time of a package

    Hi,
    We need a clarification on how to find the Last modified date and time of a package in Oracle. We used the example below to explain our scenario,
    Lets consider the following example
    Let A, B be two packages.
    Package A calls the package B. So A is dependent on B.
    When A is compiled the TIMESTAMP,LAST_DDL_TIME in USER_OBJECTS gets updated.
    Now there a modification in package B so it is compiled. There is no modification in package A.
    Now when the package A is executed the TIMESTAMP,LAST_DDL_TIME in USER_OBJECTS gets updated but we did not make any change in Package A. Now we need to find last modified date and time of the package A . So we can not rely on the TIMESTAMP,LAST_DDL_TIME in USER_OBJECTS . Can u please tell us any other solution to get last modified date and time of the package A .
    Regards,
    Vijayanand.C

    Here is an example:
    SQL> SELECT OBJECT_NAME,CREATED,LAST_DDL_TIME,TIMESTAMP,STATUS FROM USER_OBJECTS
    2 WHERE OBJECT_NAME = ANY('A','B');
    OBJECT_NAM CREATED LAST_DDL_TIME TIMESTAMP STATUS
    A 20-MAY-2004 10:57:32 20-MAY-2004 10:57:32 2004-05-20:10:57:32 VALID
    B 20-MAY-2004 10:58:22 20-MAY-2004 10:59:04 2004-05-20:10:59:04 VALID
    SQL> CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE A AS
    2 BEGIN
    3 NULL;
    4 NULL;
    5 END;
    6 /
    Procedure created.
    SQL> SELECT OBJECT_NAME,CREATED,LAST_DDL_TIME,TIMESTAMP,STATUS FROM USER_OBJECTS
    2 WHERE OBJECT_NAME = ANY('A','B');
    OBJECT_NAM CREATED LAST_DDL_TIME TIMESTAMP STATUS
    A 20-MAY-2004 10:57:32 20-MAY-2004 11:01:28 2004-05-20:11:01:28 VALID
    B 20-MAY-2004 10:58:22 20-MAY-2004 10:59:04 2004-05-20:10:59:04 INVALID
    SQL> EXEC B
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    SQL> SELECT OBJECT_NAME,CREATED,LAST_DDL_TIME,TIMESTAMP,STATUS FROM USER_OBJECTS
    2 WHERE OBJECT_NAME = ANY('A','B');
    OBJECT_NAM CREATED LAST_DDL_TIME TIMESTAMP STATUS
    A 20-MAY-2004 10:57:32 20-MAY-2004 11:01:28 2004-05-20:11:01:28 VALID
    B 20-MAY-2004 10:58:22 20-MAY-2004 11:01:53 2004-05-20:11:01:53 VALID
    Note that the date under the column 'created' only changes when you really create or replace the procedure.
    Hence you can use the column 'created' of 'user_objects'.
