Last search might be inaccurate while assigning remote role

Hi everyone,
I implemented a federated portal network containing 2 portal systems. Both of them consumers and also producers of eachother.
But I have a problem during the remote role assignment. When I try to assign a role of the producer portal to a user in consumer portal, I can't find the remote role although I can see it in Content administration. When I search the remote role, it gives the message "Last search might be inaccurate".
Does anyone have an idea?

Assign remote roles with Federated portals

Hello all,
We're trying to implement a federated Portal network using the "Implementing a Federated Portal Network" in Detail document.
The steps that we have follow successfully are:
1. Connect to the user repository (Producer and Consumer).
2. Configure system settings (Producer and Consumer).
3. Define and Configure producers (consumer).
4. Set permisions (producer).
Now we want to assign remote roles to local users in User Administration -> Proxy-to-remote Roles option. But Proxy-to-remote Roles tab doesn't appear in the second level navigation...
We are working with EP7 SP10.
Any idea?

Maybe a clue: According to the Remote Role assigment question, We have a similar problem using the Remote content copy option.
In the consumer EP, Content Administration -> Portal Content, the Netweaver Content Producers contains the producer connection icon but it's empty. So, the content share can't be done...
Now... Any idea?

error : CJS-30196. SAPBC JSF Communication role is not assigned to the user SAPJSF.

Federation, remote role assignment based on ABAP roles on producer

Hi all,
We have implemented the federated portal solution for our ESS users. We use the ABAP stack of the producer portal as user store for consumer and have no problems in assigning portal roles on our consumer based on ABAP roles in the backend (displayed as groups in the portal).
Now we want to add some extra functionality (eg SRM and eRec) and we encounter some problems. These systems all have their own ABAP stack as user store. We have maintained the functional authorization model in the ABAP roles for instance in SRM. So an example:
System I: ABAP + JAVA --> ECC 6.0
Here we have the standard R/3 functionality and the producer portal (A) installed. Roles created on producer portal and assigned based on ABAP roles.
System II: JAVA --> NW 7.0 Portal
Our consumer portal (B) where we use roles created on the producer portal (A) on System I.
System III: ABAP + JAVA --> SRM
Our SRM system with SRM producer portal (C). In the ABAP stack of this sytem the functional SRM roles have been assigned to the users. We have created functional SRM Portal roles in order to use remote role assignment on consumer portal (B).
+PROBLEM+
We want to remotely assign portal roles created on the SRM Producer (C) to users on the consumer portal (B), based on the ABAP role assignment in the backend of system III. How can we achieve this in a fast and efficient way?

Interesting question. Let me share my experience and hope that's of some use to you.
We started off federating corporate NetWeaver Portal (lets say B, parallel to your convention) as consumers to BI Portals (Lets say A).
- B's UME points to Active Directory
- A's UME points to BI ABAP user store
- User ids are identical in both systems
We ran into the problem of dual administration ((de)assigning portal role on both portals instead of just one) for a long time. The issue was because of different reasons at different times as we patched B's and A's. At one point we were on SP15 on both portals and we were told by SAP that RRA can be done on B for remote roles and the assignment propagates to A automatically if the following configuration is set up on both A and B.
- A's permissions are relaxed allowing "Everyone" group checked for "End User" access as per ([http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/43/2236fc0b413fe1e10000000a11466f/content.htm|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/43/2236fc0b413fe1e10000000a11466f/content.htm]
However, we chose not to do the permission relaxation as enabling "Everyone" group with "End User" access can allow anyone to launch an iView (if the URL is known somehow) and the user would be able to see the layout of the iView, which can include text, etc. The user won't be able to access any data though, however, there is certain compromise on security which we decided that its not okay. So, we digressed in SAP's suggested practice because of security reasons.
Today we, manage security on B using Active Directory groups and on A using Java groups (ABAP roles).
In your case, I suggest investigating the option of relaxing the security on producer portal like in the above link. If you think its okay, all you have to do is, provision users on B by assigning remote roles from C and A.
Either my story is applicable or I must have got you totally wrong,

Error while assigning portal custom role

Hi All,
We have a custom role which we use to assign to the users. till now we are able to assign it without any problem. But now as i need to assign it to someone, i got an error stating that "An error occured while adding user assignments; to see the correct status, perform a new assigned user search".
Can anybody help us in finding out the reason of the error and in rectifying the error.

This role is existing in the PCD, and this error is coming, while assinging this role any users... it is working fine with the existing users, who are having this role before. This is happening only when we are assigning this role to some new user.
I dont think this has some relation with the backend, as the role assignment is part of the Portal itself.
And also here we dont have seperate UME, and we are using r3 users only with single sign on.....

Error while Assigning database level role (db_datareader) to SQL login (Domain Account)

I got an error while creating a User for Domain Account. Below is the screen shot of the error (error : 15401)
Database instance is on SQL 2000 SP3. ( I know it is out of support, But the customer is relutanct to upgrade)
On Google search, i found below article which is best matching for this error

I have follows each step of troubleshooting. But still the issue persists.
Step 1. The login does not exist == The login is very much exist in the domain as i am able to add the same domain id to other database instances
Step 2. Duplicate security identifiers == i have used this query to find duplicate SID

But there was only one row returned with create date of today's.

Step 4. Case sensitivity == Database collation is set to Case insensitivity. (CI)
Other two 5. Local Accounts & 6. Name resolution == is not applicable to me.
I tried other ways also.
A. Creating login and providing permission in one go only = User account is not created
B. Instead of GUI, use query to create login and provide required permission = Same error.

Error While assigning points

I am getting the following error for the past 2 days, while assigning point and closing the tread.

I think we are facing this problem from almost last 4 days.
Even the display of forum points looks 0 which doesn't look good.

Issue has been resolved,issue is due to the last name is not maintained for the user in SU01 then user trying the assign to org through users_gen t code.

Read Only Access while assigning Analysis Types and Reports in User/Group

Hi Team,
While Assigning Analysis Type,Reports and Workbooks to User "Read" option is not enabled. It is not working and as soon as we select analysis type ,Only one option is editable "Create/Update/Delete". The other two Option is always there as display "Read" and "Execute" . Execute might work with "Scripts template" but "READ" should work for analysis types and Reports.
We are already struggling with "Read Only" Access in security filter as its not working now.

The behavior for Analysis type, workbook and script as follow:-
The Analysis type create/update/delete option will be enabled, read and execute option will be disabled by default.
The report workbook read option will be enabled, and other two options will be disabled.
The script execute option will be enabled, and other two option’s will be disabled.
For providing “Read Only” access in security filter, Switch to the administration tab, Click on Security Filters, Click on Add button, Open Create Security Filter window, Select the access level to Read Only and select user in assigned user , Click on ok.
It should work.

Fail to search Oracle Application Server while installing EM Grid Control

Fail to search Oracle Application Server while installing EM Grid Control 10.2.0.2 on Windows XP. All the steps are successful except the last step failed.
I uninstalled the previous Oracle 10g database using the stops of the following link:

FPN - error trying to lookup object - remote role assignment not working

Hello everyone,
We have implemented a Federated Portal Network connection in our landscape between our portals.
We use only remote role assignment functionality.
Everything was working fine, but since 2 days we encounter the following error in the Default trace.
Error trying to lookup object: alias: <role name>
It is possible to open the producer portal in the Portal Content Administration and also searching for the Producer portal roles is possible in User administration. But when we assign the remote role the tab is not displayed in the portal only the above mentioned error is shown in the default trace. Our portals run SP 12 and BI Java SP14.
Is there a solution or workaround for this issue ?

I have the same issue as you, I cannot see role tabs in Consumer portal and I get the same error in the defaulttrace as you.

F11 and ctrl+F11 not retrieving the last search

I have created a form in oracle 10g.where F11 is enter-query and ctrl+F11 is execute-query.
Every time its working fine.When ever I give any input and press ctrl+F11 its being executed and then if I press F11 then going to enter-query mode.
But my problem is :-
If I open the form and without giving any i/p I press F11 and ctrl+F11 consecutively then it should show the last search.While in my form its just asking to select a new search/query.

First queried in the form,then without closing that in the same session I pressed F11 twice.
But I am getting an error-
FRM-41009: Function key not allowed. Press %s for list of valid keys.
I have checked function key mapping its alright-F11:= enter query.
I have given some messages to check the mode of the form at different position.

Getting Warning while assigning Dimension in to Model in version 10.0

Iam getting an warning message "Control definition not valid because new Dimension are added in to Model" & "Control result was reset because new Dimension are added in to Model" while assigning Dimensions to the Model.

Hi,
Controls might exist on this model.
To check for the existing Controls.Goto Aministartion-->Rules -->Controls . After you adding the new dimension you have to revisit the controls which were already existing.

if i put breakpoint in example.jsp is not stopping there while doing remote debugging.
i have deployed my jsp in oc4j standalone app server-9.0.4.
c:\oc4j\j2ee\home\applications\bank\example.jsp
i have imported this jsp file in c:\jdeveloper9.0.5\jdev\mywork\workspace\JSP\example.jsp
which path should i set in java source directory and HTML directory in InputPaths of jdeveloper properies.
remote debuging works well for EJB's and servlets.
Is there any white paper published for doing remote debuging.
i searched but i didnt find anywhere.

Root column disabled while Assigning XSD- In Syndicator

I am not able to assign the XSD against the Remote system in the Syndicator.
While assigning the XSD through
Syndicator==> File==>
Destination Properties
While assigning the XSD against the Remotesystem,Root Textbox is disabled and OK button alsio disabled...

Hi Devraj,
Root column dissabled when your XSD is not proper.
In Syndicator go to file->Destination Properties
Here select XML Schema if you have made an entry of an XSD in XML Schema table in Console or you can select XML Schema File if you want to pick your XSD from a particular location.Now if the XSD is proper then only the Root Column will be enabled which contains the root node available in
XSD so please check for the Same.
