Latest Entity Framework version to be used with DB2

I am looking for a Entity Framework Provider for DB2 (UDB) in my local Windows 7 machine to implement Entity Framework 6.0 with DB2. Is that provider available?
If not any Provider from IBM is supporting it?
If both of the above questions turned negative, for which older EF version (5,4 etc...) has Microsoft/IBM Entity Provider to work with DB2? what's the name of the dll reference?

Hello JAISH,
For issues regarding DB2, it is beyond the scope of our support for this forum, i suggest you could post it to the DB2 forum to confirm how to get the last version of EF provider for DB2:

  • Entity Framework in WPF Application - Using Statement or Implement IDisposable

    I have a WPF application that uses Entity Framework.
    I have implemented a Repository that implements IDisposable, that holds my EF context.  When the application starts up I new up a Repository, which news up an EF context, then when the application shuts down, I dispose of my Repository, which disposes
    the EF context as well.
    The end result is that my context remains open during the entire lifetime of the application.
    I've been reading up on EF, and all the examples put the operations against the EF context in a using statement.  Is that the preferred approach?  What is the priority: to keep the context open briefly, or just to make sure you properly dispose
    of it when you're finished with it.
    Thanks.

    That link is only for WCF and it's broken implementation of the Dispose pattern.
    >I have been burnt in doing it where the connection was not closed or disposed when it short-circuted out of the Using statement on exception
    If so, it was a bug.  You should expect that not to happen.
    'using' will close your connection, unless the connection was open before the DbContext and was passed in.  'using' is the safest way to ensure that the connections are closed in a timely manner.

    I absoultly do not agree with you. I have been burnt in using the Using statment. And it was along the lines that an excpetion was thrown within the Using statement and no closing of the connection or dispoiong of it ever occured, which is what the WCF example
    is showing on how a Using statement can be short-circuted and things can go wrong.
    I don't care if the Using statement issue is being shown on a WCF typed cleint. I do the same thing in using straight up ADO.NET or EF, becuase I have been burnt by the Using statement, and I dont use them to open,  close or dispose of a connection.

  • Which Rapport version do I use with OSX Lion

    My Business Banking via HSBC keeps telling me to download Trusteer Rapport - but it gives only two versions for Mac - one is called Mac Leopard and the other Mac Tiger. I don't know which one to download as I am running OSX Lion.  Phoned the Bank and they can't help me either.
    I have been on the Trusteer site - but can't find the answer there and they have not responded to my email (2 weeks ago) asking them which version to install.
    Has anyone else had this problem and how do I sort it.
    Any other comments on Rapport would be good too.
    Many thanks

    I found the following Answer on Trusteer's website about their product "Rapport":
    Does Rapport support Mac Mountain Lion (10.8)?
    http://my.nanorep.com/widget/widget.html?account=trusteer&referer=http%3A//www.t rusteer.com/support/&dynamicsize=true&dynamicmaxsize=500
    We are glad to inform you that a version of Rapport which supports Mac OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) has been released and is now available for download in the following link: http://www.trusteer.com/support/leopard-105x-snow-leopard-106x-lion-107x-and-mou ntain-lion-108x
    Please make sure to restart your computer after the installation process is completed.
    So if you download and install this latest Version of Rapport for the Mac OSX version, it should work with Lion also.
    Hope this helps

  • Any version available to use with Windows ME?

    Running Windows ME with IE 6. Many programs no longer support
    IE 6. Cannot afford new computer. Is there any previous version
    of Firefox available to use with Windows ME, and if so, how
    can I obtain it?

    Firefox 2.0.0.20 is the last ever version of Firefox for Win98 / SE / ME.
    Get it from here: <br />
    ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/2.0.0.20/win32/en-US/ <br />
    ''You may find that the same websites the won't let you use IE6 are going to give you problems with Firefox 2.''
    You can try KernelEx to get Firefox 3+ to work, but it would be very slow with an old PC of less than 750Mhz.

  • Which photoshop version should I use with...

    A. Ibook G4 Mac OS X 10.4.11
    B. Mac Mini Power PC G4 Mac Os X 10.5.6
    Any links to download a free trial
    Thanks in advance.

    See if you can return/refund CS5 ASAP as there may be a limited time to do so - - or start shopping for an Intel Mac.
    Do you already have any version of Photoshop? With old G4 computers, you may want something even earlier than CS4 as each new release expects more system resources.
    Be careful when shopping for older versions. There are many sellers that are passing off pirated software. There is a lengthy thread in the Windows Photoshop forum about eBay.

  • [FB4] PHP Data Service - how to use with DB2?

    Hi,
    I've tried to follow the tutorial that wires a datagrid to a PHP service. However I need to get data from DB2 rather than MySQL. I have created the service and populated an array using db2_fetch_object - the service works as I can call it with a simple test PHP script. However if I try to use this in the Data Service dialogs, when I get to the point of creating a return type for my getAllItems() call, it returns an error telling me to look in my server logs. My PHP logs say nothing.... Does this work with DB2? As far as I know the data returned by a db2_fetch_object is pretty close to the mysql version.
    Thanks
    NB my PHP code is as follows:
    public function getAllItems() {
            $rows=Array();
            $query_cust = ".....SQL in here.............";
            $conn = connectLocal();
            if ($conn) {
                //error_log("Got connection");
                $stmt = db2_prepare($conn, $query_cust);
                $thisrow=0;
                db2_execute($stmt,array(0));
                while($row = db2_fetch_object($stmt)){
                    $rows[$thisrow]=$row;
                    //error_log($row->CUSTNUM);
                    //error_log($rows[$thisrow]->CUSTNUM);
                    $thisrow++;
                db2_close($conn);
            return $rows;

    OK, if I remove the customer name field all works OK. So I tried reinstating the customer name field but modifying it in the returned array with a custom PHP function that replaces all the non-printing characters with acceptable ones. This function works ok when I create XML to use with Flex 3 datagrids, or with some javascript apps that use JSON arrays. But I still get the error. This is the function I use:
    function stripcharsnotblanks($input){
    $output = str_replace("&","+",$input);
    $output = str_replace('"',"",$output);
    $output = str_replace("²","+",$output);
    $output = str_replace("ü","ue",$output);
    $output = str_replace("ä","ae",$output);
    $output = str_replace("ö","oe",$output);
    $output = str_replace("Ö","Oe",$output);
    $output = str_replace("\'","'",$output);
    $output = str_replace("€","Eur",$output);
    $output = str_replace("/","",$output);
    $output = str_replace("%","pc",$output);
    $output = str_replace(">","]",$output);
    $output = str_replace("<","[",$output);
    $output = str_replace("@"," at ",$output);
    $output = str_replace(";",":",$output);
    return $output;
    Do you know of any other characters that could cause problems with AMF?
    Thanks

  • Latest version of Itunes - using with Win 7 Home Prem on HP Pavilion laptop

    What do you think of using the latest Itunes with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on a *HP Pavilion 1360US (pc-based) laptop*? Does anyone know of any problems while using this or has anyone had this same problem? Any suggestions, ideas or comments? I have an IPOD 5th Gen Video 30G. I'm feeling a little scared to get this newer version. But I need to get my IPOD up and running again very soon. It's nothing but a dud at this time and I'm kind of feeling helpless!
    Hopefully someone will respond.

    Is that the "HP Pavilion dv6-1360us Entertainment Notebook PC", Ba, as per the following HP document?
    [Product Specifications|http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01887282&tm ptask=prodinfoCategory&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&swlang=&product=4035647&os=4063]
    If so, there's no potential issues for you with Intel 5-series chipsets (or nVidia chipsets) on Windows 7 systems (given that it's just got the Core 2 Duo processor, not an i3, i5 or i7). The more recent versions of AMDS (that come with iTunes 9.1.1.11 and above) have been installing okay on 64-bit systems by comparison with the previous version 9s (AMDS install rollbacks aren't being reported much nowadays on 64-bit systems). So my main reasons for concern with 64-bit Windows 7 systems don't apply in the case of that laptop.

  • Where can I download Acrobat Extended version 9 for use with a single user license?

    Hello,
    I am helping a client who has previously purchases a single user license of Acrobat Extended version 9. It shows up under 'My Products' for his Adobe ID account and provides the serial. However, no version of Acrobat I have been able to find on the Adobe.com website or from people asking the same question on these forums will accept his Serial #.
    Has adobe made these single user serial #'s invalid due to their change in licensing format, or I am just now finding the correct version to go with this serial? Please assist, I would hate to have to tell this client they have to re-pay for a product they already have purchased simply because you have changed your licensing format.
    Thanks,
    JC

    JC you will want to utilize the installation media you received at the time of purchase.  If you choose the download option at the time purchase then the download would be available under your account at http://www.adobe.com/.  You can find more details at Find a download link on Adobe.com.

  • Which iPad 4 versions can you use with Swedish mobile SIM cards?

    Browsing around user forums and getting more and more confused :b If I want to use an iPad 4 with a Swedish SIM card as of today = being able to use an iPad 4 in Sweden without Wi-fi connection, which models do I have to choose from? Read a lot about 4G technology not being compatible with Swedish technology etc.... Help?

    You can not "unlock it to T-Mobile". If the phone is locked to AT&T, ONLY AT&T can authorize unlocking it. Contact them and find out if it's eligible for unlocking. If it is, and you meet their requirements, they will process the request to unlock it. If it is not eligible, and/or you don't meet their requirements, then it can only be used on AT&T.

  • Adding Entity Framework Crashes Visual Studio 2010/2013

    I'm having problem with using the Entity Framework version 6/5.  Whenever, I create the new solution and try to use the Entity Framework, Visual Studio crashes and restarts itself.  Scenarios are:
    1) Add Entity Framework by Add New Item-> Entity Framework-> go through wizard and finish...Crash.
    2) Add by Nuget console-> Install-Package Entityframework...Crash.
    3) Reload the solution from either #1 or #2, run Nuget console->Uninstall-Package Entityframework...Crash
    4) new solution, nuget package manager, select Entity Framework->Install...Crash.
    No matter what I do, and how I try to install entity framework, it keeps crashing on both VS 2010 and VS 2013.  It's frustrating when I'm trying to learn the technology.  Below are the Application error log I see in the Event Viewer:

    Hi Hiroaki Morikawa,
    >>Message: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
    Based on the error message, I doubt that it is the memory performance issue, like this case:
    http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/71f134bd-d665-43b5-8c67-52c4d6ed4ed9/kinect-driver-problem?forum=kinectsdknuiapi.
    Please restart the system, stop all unnecessary third party processes, and make sure that your task manager is free,  then test again.
    Do you install the VS2010 and VS2013 in the same machine? If so, please also make sure that your machine has the enough configurations. To make sure that it is not the add-in issue, please also run your VS in safe mode, or run your VS as the admin, test
    it again.
    Best Regards,
    Jack

  • Entity Framework : Outer Joins

    Hello,
    I'm trying to solve some issues with an application that I'm developing....
    I have a problem with outer joins:
    var query = (from i in dbo.ITEMs
                             join o in dbo.ORGANIZATIONs on i.ORGSEQNO equals o.ORGSEQNO
                             join iv in dbo.ITEMVERSIONs on i.ITEMSEQNO equals iv.ITEMSEQNO
                             join it in dbo.ITEMTARGETs on iv.VERSIONSEQNO equals it.VERSIONSEQNO
                             join id in dbo.ITEMDESCRIPTIONs.DefaultIfEmpty() on it.ITEMTARGETSEQNO equals id.ITEMTARGETSEQNO
                             select i).AsQueryable();
    If I remove the DefaultIfEmpty the query works as expected, with the "DefaultIfEmpty" in, it generates a sub-select that doesn't execute.
    1 ORA-00904: "SingleRowTable3"."X": invalid identifier SQL1.sql 44 23
    This is the occorring error.
    Thanks for your help.

    You can check my thread Entity Framework generates invalid oracle sql.
    Generally Entity Framework sometimes generates joins using APPLY which does not work on NON SQL SERVER system.
