    Question
How do I find my tab history? I had hard drive issues and when I launched my browser after getting it back their was no "restore session" option. I know a tab history is kept, just don't remember where or how to exercise it. Thanks

Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session.<br />
Use "File > Exit" or "Firefox > Exit" if you want to restore multiple windows.<br />
You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time.<br />
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default <b>about:home</b> Home page.
    Another possibility is to use:
    * [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Menu_differences Firefox (Tools) > Options] > General > Startup: "When Firefox Starts": "Show my windows and tabs from last time"

  • Can I set the Apple TV 3 to launch a browser at startup?

    Hi,
We want to use an Apple TV (A1469) to run a TV as a display screen.  All we need it to do is open up a web page and display it (in fullscreen if possible, meaning no menu bar or anything).  The website scrolls through various pages on its own like a powerpoint does.
Is there a way to set the ATV that when it powers on and boots up it can automatically launch the browser and then we can make the page we need the Home Page so it will just show that with no required interaction from anyone?
If not, what's the least amount of interaction I can set it to require if it comes up to a Home Screen.  Can I make a shortcut directly to the page I want so it'd just be one click of the remote?

OK, so let me update this.  I now see that the Apple TV doesn't even have a browser on it.  How lame is that...  Anyway, so I can still use a browser but have to use Airplay or something to get it to the TV.  So now I have other questions.
    1) Can I use airplay to cast a browser window to multiple TVs at the same time?
    2) Once I start a website, does the Apple TV take over the site or if I close down my phone does the TV stop showing so the phone would have to sit there unused the whole time?
I guess maybe the Apple TV can't do what we want if this is the case so far...

  • Control browser properties from a java application while launching a browse

How to control the properties of a browser when it is launched from a java application?
I am using the command " Runtime.getRuntime().exec("rundll32 url.dll,FileProtocolHandler "+url); " to launch the browser. The syntax of "exec" command is "public Process exec(String command,String[] envp) throws IOException". I would like to know whether we can give the arguments in this command to control the browser properties.
If you know any other option by which we can open a URL in a controlled browser, please share it.
    Thanks in advance :).

    Hi All,
I have found a solution to control browser parameters from Java applications.
    1. Create an intermediate HTML file at runtime which contains Javascript to launch a browser. Pass the parameters like the URL and browser control parameters to the Javascript of this HTML file.
    2. Open this HTML file and invoke the javascript while loading the file. Javascript will launch the required URL in a controlled browser.
    3. Close the intermediate HTML file.
    Limitation:
    1. There will be a flickering of windows.
    2. Applets will have permission issues with the above solution. For applets a better solution is JSobject. No need of an intermediate file here.
Hope this will be useful for someone. :-)
    Cheers,

  • Can't launch default browser to view help

when I go to the help section it states there was an error launching the default browser and than I may need to reinstall the application and the help component.....how do I do this and what caused this to start happening....thanks
[ title changed to something useful by admin ]

See if you can launch the browser from your file browser (explorer on windows and finder on mac)
If you can not, then that is an OS issue and someone here may help, but would need to know what OS you are using since the directions are different for each OS.
If it does launch , let us know and someone will help with the directions as long as you provide what OS you have and what version of photoshop you have. Again the directions differ.

  • CALL_BROWSER function is not launching the browser

    Hello friends,
We have ECC6 server and I have written a custom bapi that calls "CALL_BROWSER" function. We have sevaral window clients with sapGUI running on them from where we logon to server to use this BAPI.
The CALL_BROWSER function launches browser with the right URL on all the window clients. However, on one of the client
which is WIndows 7 (64 BIT), it doesn't launch the browser at all.
SAP has a function name WS_QUERY, that is suppose to return the u201Cnameu201D of the operating system that the SAP GUI is running under. In the WS_QUERY function, there is code to distinguish between Unix, OSX, OS/2, and all the flavors of windows except for the Windows 7 64-bit operating system.
Has anyone seen this problem before? I would appreciate if some one can please let me know how to fix this problem.
    Thanks
    Ram

Since no one responded, looks like this is not the right place to ask this question and so closing the question

  • Can't use dashboard.  It launches my browser.  Very strange.

Whenever I open Dashboard it starts up and after about a 1 second pause, it launches my browser.  I can't use it or the widgets at all as I'm back in the desktop in my browser after 1 second. If I keep hitting F12 it will send me back to the desktop, opening a new browser window, as fast as I can hit it.  It is the strangest thing I've ever seen and I wonder if it is something my daughter did when I wasn't looking.

    Hi, Tron.
    1. Hot Corners you define for Dashboard or Exposé are saved in your Dock Preferences, i.e. the file com.apple.dock.plist in your Home > Library > Preferences folder.
Note:You will need to reconfigure your Dock after performing this procedure as it will reset the Dock to its default configuration. If you want a record your Dock setup before undertaking this procedure, take a screen shot of your Dock.
1.1. Trash the Dock preferences: com.apple.dock.plist in your Home > Library > Preferences folder. This file contains the settings for your Dock and any Hot Corners you defined for Dashboard or Exposé.
1.2. If you altered the keyboard shortcuts for Dashboard or Exposé in System Preferences > Dashboard & Exposé, the changes are saved in the com.apple.symbolichotkeys.plist file in your Home > Library > Preferences folder. Trash that file as well.
1.3. After trashing these files, either log out, then log in, to your account or restart your Mac.
    1.4. Empty the Trash.
1.5. Reconfigure your Dock and any customization you performed in System Preferences > Dashboard & Exposé for hot corners and keyboard shortcuts.
Note: If you are running any Dock "hacks" or "add ons" you might want to disable or delete these as these can contribute to Dock problems.2. Given the other issues you described As a general check, run the Procedure specified in my "Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption" FAQ. Perform the steps therein in the order specified.
    Good luck!

  • When I launch my browser everything is maginified..How do I fix?

When I start the computer it opens the desktop...And everything appears good until I launch my browser, firefox, it then goes to windows and everything is magnified and very difficult to navigate due to size. I've tried making adjustments but no progress. When I refreshed firefox...everything appeared back to normal until I would start using it.
    How can I repair?

There is a "compatibility" option in the Firefox shortcut/icon that could cause a global resolution change. If you right-click the icon, Properties, Compatibility tab, make sure nothing is selected here, especially the 640x480 resolution checkbox.
If the effect is seen only within Firefox, does the problem affect the user interface as well as the content?
For content problems, the problem often is the zoom setting. You can reset the zoom level of the current page by pressing Ctrl+0 (that's a zero). You can lower it by holding down Ctrl and tapping the - key a couple times.
If the user interface is affected as well, hmm, normally a Firefox refresh/reset would set that back to normal.

  • Launch a browser from a application.

I know about AppletContext.showDocument, but is there any method for applications to launch a web browser in a similar platform independant manner? If so is there also the ability to specify the browser has no address bar/toolbars etc?
The JNLP package allows basic interaction with a browser but only if you are actually deploying your app over jnlp.
If anyone can point me to the classes - it'd be a great help!
    Thanks in anticipation.

    Thats excellent!!!!!

  • How can I configure the Java ME Emulator (3.0) on Mac to launch a browser?

    Hi all.
I'm a non-developer user of the Java ME Emulator, where I need to test J2ME applications. I run the Java J2ME ME Emulator on my Mac, version 3.0.
I usually run the emulator as such:
    /Applications/Java_ME_SDK_3.0.app/Contents/Resources/bin/emulator -Xdescriptor:/path/to/jad
However, in our application I'm testing - whenever I click a URL/Link that normally opens a browser on a real device - it does nothing on the emulator. How can I get this to work? I've loaded up the 'Java_ME_SDK_3.0' App (/Applications/Java_ME_SDK_3.0.app) and found the settings there for this (Preferences -> General -> Web Browser) however, no matter what I put in there seems to work. (No browser even launches/opens)
    Can someone please help me?
    Thanks
    Ryan Hunt.

Hello TwoTankAmin, the Java deployment Toolkit is for developers and used by Java applications to help manage getting the right version of Java for a user’s system. Are you sure the problem is there ?
Do you have it '''Always Activate''', in Add-ons Manager tab and the Java TM platform SE 7 U67 also? [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-issues-with-plugins-fix-problems#w_determining-if-a-plugin-is-the-problem Determining if a plugin is the problem].

  • Error launching default browser

I had downloaded and installed the trial versions of PSE 12 and PRE 12 in late November, 2013. Purchased both December 23, 2013 and downloaded both. Did not realize I could just enter the new product codes, and instead re-installed both. All seems to working, but when I click HELP>SUPPORT, I get error message: There was an error launching the default browser. You may need to re-install the application and the Help component. Does this refer to reinstalling PSE and PRE or the browser which is IE9? Had a chat seesion with Mohammed who told me to contact tech support who want me to pay for help. This does not seem right for a new purchase.
Also, since the purchase occured on December 23, 2013 and today is January 3, 2014 I wonder why I am already getting emails that I have reached my limit in Revel. I thought I had thirty days for unlimited initial uploads.

    is your issue resolved now?

  • .mov launches IE browser windows

I opened a .mov file and ends up playing the clip in QT, but also launches a bunch of IE windows. Besides not opening the file, how can I turn that feature off (where this type of file can open other apps)?
FYI... the file just had a bunch of numbers as a name and had the .mov extension. Have no clue what the source was.... I deleted it a few days ago.
    Thanx,
    E

Texan to Texan: First trust the source.
The downloaded .mov files can contain embedded "URL's" that will launch your web browser.
There is not much you can do to remove these links from the file. As the "file extension here" opens it will do as the authors intended and open new browser window(s).
First. Don't open links that you don't trust.
Second. "Clean" you PC (via anti virus software) so you can clean up your PC.
Did I mention about not downloading videos from untrusted sources?
