Launching an action script from within my program

I am trying to develop an application that will launch Photoshop, load an image, load a saved action, run the action on the image and the save the image with a new name. I am writing the application in c#, and I have PhotoShop CS2. Any help, would be greatly appreciated, or if you could just point me in the right direction. I have the CS2 SDK, but from what I've read so far it is for developing plugins.

you have to understand as2 code so you can see what's being done and then you must understand as3 code so you can rewrite it. there are some automated conversions that can accomplish some of that but i haven't seen any that are less time-consuming that doing it the long way.

Creating a Step for Background Job from within ABAP Program

Step-1: I have a Report in ECC, which is scheduled as Background Job, which writes the file to the Application Server(UNIX)
Step-2: Trigger a Unix Command to ftp the file to other server.
Both Step-1 & Step-2 can be done from SM36.
Another Scenario:
Users can run the report in background from SE38 or using the transaction code for the report, In this case we want to call the external command.
Instead of calling the External Command as below in the report, I want to create a Step from within the program when it is scheduled in background mode.
CALL 'SYSTEM' ID 'COMMAND' FIELD lc_unixcom. [ Here lc_unixcom has the External Command ].
Any ideas??? Appreciate help.

For submitting a report step, you may use either SUBMIT ... VIA JOB ... or JOB_SUBMIT function module.
For external commands, this should be done only by calling JOB_SUBMIT function module.

IP routing doesn't work the way many folks might initially think it does; functional IP routing requires manual configuration and the establishment of static routes and default routes specific to the local network configurations, and it's very easy to get it wrong, or to get the default route swapped. Multiple NIC boxes don't magically work, either. (Been there, done that, wondered what happened to my network when the paths got reordered or my route settings were messed up, etc.)
Routing configuration errors can be quite subtle, too. (Again, voice of experience. Ever had a thousand-seat office LAN accidentally routing through your desktop? As the, um, unnamed guilty party discovered, getting into that configuration was subtle. Seeing the performance crater on the fellow's box and on the LAN was obvious.)
Knowing how IP routing works is a prerequisite to getting this configuration to work; there's manual configuration required. Clearly something has gone weird here.
What to do? Read up on IP routing. I'll again suggest the threads and the manual mentioned earlier.
And in general, I prefer to avoid using my comparatively expensive Mac boxes as sub-optimal IP routers or as firewall boxes. General-purpose operating systems and generic x86 boxes are going to be inherently poor IP routers. Dedicated routers (or embedded or surplus x86 boxes with routing software loaded) offload the Mac boxes here, and are also typically easier to configure manage. And "real" IP routers can have hardware specific to efficiently routing packets. Use of an outboard firewall or firewall-router box also greatly simplifies gateway routing, too; it's a configuration that many folks and many businesses tend to use.

I have an access to the database Sharepoint_Config from current domain user and from other 2 users. All users have db_owner rights to the Sharepoint_Config database. But

I have an answer for my problem: for solving a problem I've made several steps:
1. Run farm installation under AD admin credentials - runas /user:Domain1\DomainAdmin1 "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\BIN\psconfigui.exe".
This user has been added as farm administrator in the wizard.
This user has been added as DBO in the SQL Server. (This is the main difference with my previous attempts)
2. Execute a command Add-SPShellAdmin Domain1\UserAccount1 in
the Management Shell of Sharepoint.
3. Run SQL server and add Sharepoint_Shell_Access to the Domain1\UserAccount1
(my main account) in the Config database
4. Run CMD file only from Start->Run menu.
runas /user:Domain1\UserAccount1 "C:\1.cmd".
Do not use Total Commander command prompt or file list for executing *.cmd of *.bat files without root administrator account.

How to launch an Automator App from a C program?

Hi All,
I've created and saved an Automator application that I can run by double-clicking its icon in Finder. I'd like to run the Automator application with a call from within a C program.
I thought I'd be able to run the Automator app from the terminal command line like other executables but that doesn;t seem to work. If it did, I could use the C function SYSTEM(AUTOMATORAPPNAME) to run it.
Any ideas how to do this would be much appreciated.

Correction: it seems that Applescripts and some similar scripts can be called from the command line using "osascript scriptname". I don't speak automator but you might like to try it. osascript seems to come with severe limitations though, for instance it doesn't allow user interaction such as dialogue boxes.

Stop() does not work, action script from 2.0 to 3.0

Hi everybody, some years ago I have created a website in Flash with Actionscript 2.0
Now the customer want to change something in the text and I stumble upon the action script 2.0 has become 3.0
This means that my stop() (I have kind of menu on the left that should display afterwards from frame 5-10 for instance)
Now my swf works when I execute it locally but when online it just goes on and on ....
anyone an idea ? I am getting crazy ...

I don't think the actionscript could have changed itself. If you are using Flash CC then the problem is that Flash CC does not support AS2, so it took your file and changed it to AS3. You will need to get your hands on an older version of Flash (CS6 or earlier) to edit the file and keep it as an AS2 file.

There isn't anything like a scripts palette in Bridge.
Because your working on a selection, you'll need to add a menu item to bridge.
You can also navigate to the folder containing the scripts and double click it. But then the script is the selection...

Writing action script from books or memory?

hey guys. I mess around with Flash and get into the most
basic action scripting. My question is, for the most part, do
designers all copy existing code and modify it to fit thier design
needs, or do they just write it themselves all the time? I really
cant imagine the latter. Im hoping that designers always have tons
of books around.

Books don't do it for me. It takes too long to get the right
kind of example from books. What I do is to make folders of Flash
source code that is categorized. One of the advantages of
helping people on these forums is seeing so many code examples.
Whenever
I run across a good example of something or write a piece of
code for someone I save it as a reference in one of the folders.
Now
when I need any code I either write it from memory if it's
short enough or go to one of my source code folders for examples. I
have
lots of books but that aren't nearly as valuable to me as my
sorted source code.
Online website sources such as flashkit.com and others can be
very counter-productive for me. The examples are often old code
from
Flash 4 and 5 and usually written by an amateur with bad
coding style. The online book recourses like safari.com are great
though.
You can search for code snippets through all the Flash books.

Compiling a file from within a program

I was hoping to write a teching JSP which a user would type in a simple java program and I would read this in to a file and run the program and to check the output to see if it is correct, but I don't know how you would compile and run the read in file. Is there some method that can write a kind of java shell command ?

TextPad does just that. For example if the program compiled successfully they create batch files and you can run the prog. from within the TextPad.
Batch file for running looks like this:

It's working fine for single statement scripts.But if the script consists of any database processing and some other processing statements,it's not returning the correct exit status of the process.

Running ssh from within java program

Hi!
I am trying to start ssh from within java e.g.:
Runtime run = Runtime.getRuntime();
Process pro = run.exec("ssh -l xx 12.12.12.12");
But it complains:
socket: Operation not permitted
ssh: connect to host 12.12.12.12 port 22: Operation not permitted
Running ssh from the command prompt works just fine. It's run on win xp.
What is the problem, and how can I avoid it?

Problem with action script from Schewe and Frasier book.

I am working on a Photoshop CS3 action script to
open raw files, do a couple of modifications
in Camera Raw, exit camera raw and save
the file as a jpeg.
I think this should work, because I am working
on an example out of "Camera raw with Adobe
Photoshop CS3" by Schewe and Frasier which
shows the step recorded.
See page 344 of Schewe and Frasier.
In figure 9-11 you see, after the open
statement, 10 lines of details like
"As camera raw"
"Model:Canon 350d" etc.
I get the file path and name line, but
none of the other details reflecting
actions in Camera Raw.
The problem is that in setting up the action, none
of the steps done in camera raw after I do the
open get recorded.
And it works in my old CS version !
Out of frustration I repeated the action
script creation in my old CS version and
it worked fine.
Any idea where I am screwing up ?

Crappy format justification:
I sometimes have a day of family
type pictures that are in raw format
that I want to put up on the internet
quickly. I would like to be able to
apply the "Auto" feature, as in general
it seems to be pretty good for something
quick.
OK, it sorta works in CS, go here

It sets up all of the details and gets the
"As camera raw" but opens the .dng file
rather than the Camera raw window.
The point is, these important settings
seem to be saved, which does not happen
in CS3.
