Layout help please

I am very new to dreamweaver and would like to make a website with layout featuring a drop down bar (similar to the bar on http://www.layersmagazine.com) but I am pretty confused about what I should do. I have some code set up already but I would quite like the dropdown bar

That most likely means you have not saved the file correctly or defined the site folder.
Have you completed the steps outlined above...defined a site folder so Dreamweaver knows where to store all the associated files your site might need?

I'd appreciate any help with this problem creating my ideal Dreamweaver CC layout!
Please see the screen shot below. Everything is perfect except I can't get the div labeled "div-right" at the bottom to sit on the right just like the one that sits on the left of middle divs that I have already aligned nicely.

GridBag or Flow Layout: Help Please!!!

Requirement: Allow the user to input the amount of a mortgage and then select from a menu of mortgage loans: 7 years at 5.35%, 15 years at 5.5%, and 30 years at 5.75%. Use an array for the different loans. Display the mortgage payment amount. Then, list the loan balance and interest paid for each payment over the term of the loan. Allow the user to loopback and enter a new amount and make a new selection or quit.
I have written the code so far that allows for the creation of the pane, texts, user entry, combobox, and buttons.
My problem is that I cannot get it sorted out to look like a usable interface. I don't know if I should go with a GridBag Layout or a Flow Layout.
I am using the GridBag Layout in this example, but obviously I am missing the correct procedure on how to do it.
Can anyone give me a hand?
My goal for the interface is to have the following fields set up in the pane to lay out like this:
Mortgage ------ MortgageTF
Loan ----- LoanCB
Payment ----- PaymentTF
Balance
Compute----- Reset----- Exit

Flow layout help please

I am trying to position 3 buttons with 3 text fields underneath. I am using flowlayout but it puts it all on one line. I have tried grid layout too but this doesn't help.
Is there anything I can do to split the buttons and text fields onto 2 separate lines?

Troubleshooting: Help please. Creating a PDF file from a Photoshop-designed project

I wanted to add personal design elements to my resume so I decided to use Photoshop to add in a logo and a footer. The problem is, when I converted the 3 Photoshop .psd files (3 pages) to .pdf files, the combined file came out to be very big in size. The biggest was 2.88 MB and the smallest that I got it to be without compromising the quality of the text and images was 1.48 MB.
What did I do wrong?
I've seen other .pdf files with more images and more color and definitely more pages and text which were only 300KB in size. How can I make my final .pdf file size small but still retain the quality of the original design from Photoshop?
I've tried merging the layers before saving. I've tried turning the files into .gif files before making the pdf. Into jpegs before making the pdf. Changing the canvas and image sizes in Photoshop into super small which made the final pdf file unreadable and super blurry. I'm at my wit's end.
Details:
.psd image size 8.5 by 11 inches (normal resume size)
colors - black, gray, light blue and light yellow
Images are very minimal, 4 lines total and around 5 circles at the header of the first page and footer of the 3rd page.

This is so sad. I read your comments and I said, "Huh?" Haha!
I tried the indexed color option and it did make the final file smaller. Around 600KB. But there's probably another way to make it even smaller like the gazillion-paged pdf file that I mentioned that was only about 300KB.
And by saying a layout program, does that mean like Adobe InDesign? Does that mean that I should just make my graphics in Photoshop and then import using another program and finish the file there?
What other layout programs can I use?

Soundtrack problems - help please

Help please. I tried doing a send to multi-track project from FCP with the base layer video option and kept getting the 'error sending selection to Soundtrack Pro' message. I did a search and the suggestion is that I have no disk space but I have over 600GB!
Then I tried a send with the full video and the file saved okay. However when I try to open the .stmp file, Soundtrack Pro starts and then freezes. I've tried opening in various ways.
Help please, I just cannot figure this out! What am I doing wrong?

Not sure how much help this is, but since you're having problems with the layout, did you try deleting the layout file? MacintoshHD/users/username/Library/Application Support/Soundtrack Pro/Layouts
BTW, I found a BKiLifeConfiguration.plist in the following path:
MacintoshHD > Library > Application Support > ProApps > Internal Plug-ins > BrowserKit > iLife.bkplugin > Contents > Resources

Can't create see through text! Help please

I am very new to illustrator so please forgive me I am using CS4 on windows. So I am in search of help.I've worked in one layer, have tried a layer for the color box and another for the text, I have tried grouping the text box with the color box as well. I figure there is a step in the inital layout that I am missing, but I'm not sure. Help please!

When you have all three objects in the right order you should see:
A) The live Type (or outlined type) in black (san diego),
B) The intermediate shape, partly covered by the Type (the blue rectangle),
C) The image (the steely look).
Is that what you see? I see that.
If you select A) and B), by clicking or selecting in the Layers palette, what do you see in the Transparency palette?
If you then tick Make Opacity Mask, what do you see in the Transparnecy palette (both Clip and Invert Mask should be unticked), and what do you see on the Artboard?

By the way, it makes no difference whether the image is embedded (as you mention) or linked.

Just do a reboot of the TC to start with.. followed by a full network restart.. ie with everything off.. power on in order.. modem.. TC.. clients with 2min gap.
If that doesn't fix it.. you should do a reset of the TC and set it up again.
Tell us more if you still have issues.
Full network layout.
OS you are running.
Firmware on the TC.

I know that the rules are loaded: I printed them to check that. But nothing happens!!!! Almost all layout is gone. If I use the original stylesheet and load my rules on top of them, I can see I have all of them, but everything is layout with the original default style and again my layout is ignored.
HELP Please, anyone. I am desperate (deadline + demo is tomorrow) :-(

GL is far easier to do simple CSS than DW, but once you get through the awkward DW interface, it can become clearer. I can only easily see how CSS is created in DW by exporting a GL site that has some already in it. Still not as easy as GL, but we're now stuck with it.
DW still does not handle full fledged CSS unless you have coding experience.
DW has always been more for the programmer than designer (just try asking a question on the DW forum :-)
CS4 seems to be an improvement, but not there yet.

There are no updates to either OS 10.5.8 or Safari 5.0.6.
If you need a later version of Safari you must first upgrade your operating system to a later version of OS X.

You can choose a background for the text from Maps and Backgrounds. Just drag a background to the end of the timeline, adjust to desired duration then drag title above it.

@puebloryan, I realize this thread is a bit old, but I have encountered a similr problem and wondered if you had found a solution. I've been using home sharing from itines on my PCs for years, but two days ago, it suddenly stopped. I can share from my Macs, but not from the ONE PC library where I keep all my tunes. I tried all the usual trouble-shooting measures.
After turning home sharing off on the PC's iTunes, turning it back on and turning some other settings off and on, my Macs and Apple TV could briefly "see" the PC library, but as soon as I try to connect -- the wheel spins for a bit and then the connection vanishes. It's as if they try and then give up.
Since this sounds so similar to your problem, I was hoping you finally found a solution. I am also starting a new thread. Thanks!

Brian - The batteries are fine and there has only every been one keyboard paired with it. We have tried my MacPro keyboard as well, and it will not even recognise that there is a discoverable keyboard nearby.

Photoshop Elements 6 on Mac help please !!!!!

I need help please !!!!!
I have PSE 6 for my imac and bought myself a NIKON D60 so far so good. I have installed PSE 6 which comes with ADOBE Bridge CS3
I have bought a book as well as I am new to photoshop and in fact DSLR cameras.
I have got my photos into Bridge OK by the way they are JPEG format. According to the book I can open the JPEG in camera RAW by either selecting the JPEG and then pressing cmd+R or by selecting the JPEG and select open with and camera RAW should be available to selct.
I cannot get of the options to work any ideas please
Secondly I have taken some photos in RAW format and put then into Bridge again I cannot get the camera RAW interface to open with these neff images.
If I try to open the image PSE 6 opens and gives me an error that the file format is not supported by PSE 6
Am I missing something here as I have been trying for a week now !!!!!

There's no "theory" about it. You should be able to open a raw file from bridge by double-clicking it, but it will open in ACR in PSE. You can't just use ACR within bridge in PSE, if that's what you're trying to do. To open a JPEG in ACR, go to file>Open in PSE and choose Camera raw as the format after you select the file but before you click Open.
If you've correctly updated ACR, bridge should show you thumbnails of your raw files. If it doesn't try emptying the Bridge cache.

Photoshop CS2. Help please.

Approx 8 years ago I purchased Photoshop CS2 online from Adobe. This past weekend I had to buy a new computer (Windows 8.1), and when I logged into my Adobe account just now to obtain my serial number and enter it after I attempted to download CS2, it said invalid serial number. Help please.
Both tech support and the online chat person were not able to help me.
