Layout of JDesktopIcons problem

I have a JDesktopPane which contains a bunch of JInternalFrames, these frames are added to the desktop, then they are iconified. It seems as though they stack up vertically starting at the bottom left of the DesktopPane....but they keep on stacking up and run off the screen. Why doesn't it put them in a new column when it reaches the top?

The default behaviour for me is to create a row along the bottom of the desktop pane (from left to right). When that row is full a new row is started above.

Layout Template - Alignment Problem

I´m using EP6 Version 6.0.2.4.6 and made some Layout-Templates for my Pages. It works fine, but the alignment of the Ivies in it doesn´t match.

When I look to a page with this Template, all my Iviews on it have an alignment on the right bottom corner of the cells. Is there no way to correct this? I tried a normal html-table but with the same result. Does anyone have a clue for this problem?

The only thing where differences to the original layouts could exist seems to be the layout description within portalapp.xml, especially (and only?) the designClass value (prtlPageConR (right), prtlPageConL (left), prtlPageConM (mid) and prtlPageConF (full)). These css classes are defined within the themes, for example the most used will be under irj/root/portalapps/com.sap.portal.themes.lafservice/themes/portal/sap_standard/prtl_std/prtl_std_ie6.css, but they only define the margin and padding...
Maybe you should copy a standard layout (from irj/root/WEB-INF/portal/portalapps/com.sap.portal.layouts.default) and start with this under new names; if they behave normal, start to manipulate them...

Layout with Effects Problem

Hi
I have working on a flex application that involves extensive adding/removal of display objects in containers like VBox, HBox.
Each children has showEffect, removedEffect, and moveEffect,
when application add and removes some children, layout gets messed up.
please take a look at the attached image
1- is normal view
2- is the HBox layout after adding and deleting some children
Is there any validateLayout or something to solve that problem?

I can't see how an HBox could be displaying items as in the second screen shot.

Layout option access problem in Elements 11

I have a problem with Elements 11. I'm busy doing a photobook but I find when i open the book it will open the page, layouts and graphics icons (bottom right) but i cannot get the layouts to open. When I open this option it opens a blank page. All my pages are there and all the graphics options and samples graphics appears as normal.
When I open a new photobook - the layouts icon opens as normal and I can pick the various options for the number of photos per page. Please help. JM2013

All the pages and layout as created before and all the additional pages that I have not yet used (added photos to) are there. But as said before - the apges opens, the graphics opens but when I open the Layout options it only opens a blank window and the various layout options does not show.

Indesign Fixed Layout EPUB Export problems

I am trying to export a fixed layout book using InDesign. I used the InDesign CC2014. I am working on a PC. I can read my previously hand-coded version done with Dreamweaver and validated with Pagina using the Firefox epub reader extension.
The exported version from InDesign does not have fixed text. The text has spread out all over the page and some of the words are actually scrambled. Some letters are on top of each other. The file itself validates with no errors using Pagina. But it is not readable as fixed layout using the Firefox Epub Reader Extension.
Is this a problem with my epub reader? Or is this a problem with the export?
Has anyone tested a file on a PC with an epub reader other than Calibre or Readium?

I just tested on Readium and it looks fine there using the Readium app on Google Chrome. (PC version). I'm not releasing books on Apple, so I will not be testing on Mac.
I will probably be testing for Kobo, I was hoping for a browser extension on Mozilla that it would work on.

Layout Set Strange Problem

HI all
I have created new Layout Set - advanced copy of ConsumerExplorer- with some changes. This layout set is assigned to KM Navigation iView and as a Search Results Layout Set.
In this layout set in KM_ConsumerCollectionRenderer, in Displayed Properties we have put some custom properties. Some of the properties are of type String and other are of type Date.
When we see the docs in KM Navigation iView only properties having String type are getting displayed. Properties of type Date are displayed as blank.
But when we search for the same document its all properties are displayed including of type Date.
I am wondering, I have used same Layout Set for KM Navigation and Search iviews, but KM Navigation has some problems.
Please reply immediately.

Hi,
Can you check by going to "presentation" in folder>details>settings>select profile> choose other layout. Under the "properties to show" tab you can click on the "add" button and choose the properties. Check the preview. By this we can check if there is any problem specific to the layout set you are using before.

CR9.1.5 from server 2003 change to windows 7 layout became smaller problem

I have an application develop in vs2003 with crystal report 9.1.5. When i move the program to new server from window server 2003 to windows 7. The crystal report export to pdf file, the report layout became smaller. Font size and line decreases when report is exported to PDF. I have try to regedit set 'HKCR\Software\Crystal Reports\Export\PDF\ForceLargerFonts' value to 1. But is not changing.
Example Print PDF :
window server 2003(adobe reader 7.0) window 7(adobe readerx 10.0)

It is possible i can operation system make the layout became small or adobe reader version problem?
Because i read the report on browser is same size, just after convert to pdf will became smaller.

The only OS supported by CR 9.1.x is; WIN XP, WIN 2000, WIN 2003.

I don't understand why these labels are getting resized. This test case is concise and shows the problem clearly, just comment out the line indicated for what the correct behavior I desire is.

is this a bug? Because there are some examples floating around on the web that do similiar such things expecting this code to work, yet when you run their code it doesn't match their screenshot, so perhaps a bug with java 6 or 5?

[PROBLEM] Keyboard layout unexpected behaviour problem Xfce

Dear Everyone,
I am rather new to arch linux. I have recently (about a week ago) installed archlinux with xorg and xfce (booted by slim), and reading the wiki I managed to set up a fully working computer. But there is a slight problem that continues bugging me about keyboard layouts, and although I have found a way to make the keyboard layout switching with alt+shift work I think that I did it in a nonstandard way and some programs still exhibit unusual (and I think unintended) behaviour.
Here goes:
I use a notebook
My xorg uses hotplugging that seems to be working (hal and dbus installed and running at bootup, detects external usb mouse, I have no xorg.conf file). When I setup my keyboard I put the 10-keymap.fdi from the /usr/share/... dir into /etc/hal/fdi/policy/10-keymap.fdi and it contains (as instructed by the wiki):

And here is the problem:
After editig this file I restarted hal using
#/etc/rc.d/hal stop
#/etc/rc.d/hal start
and keyboard switching with alt+shift started working.
Then I went to the xfce keyboard settings to the layout tab and my setup was:
keyboard model -> evdev-managed keyboard
keyboard layout -> us
so the russian layout did not appear (also adding the russian layout through this menu before editing the .fdi file was useless (it was the first thing I tried before reading the wiki and writing config files for hal))
I started the keyboard layout switcher applet for xfce and it also displayed only the us flag and had only us as the available layout, and even switching to russian layout using alt+shift had no effect on the displayed flag.
What I decided to do then was to restart my system.
Everything restarted without error (hal and stuff started etc..) but it was no longer possible to switch keyboard layouts using alt+shift.
The xfce keyboard settings now displayed us and ru as available layouts but switch between them using the mouse in the settings menu had no effect whatsoever. Also the layout switcher displayed that both layouts were available but for the russian keyboard the variant field displayed a lot of garbage (I will post screenshot soon). Switching to the russian layout through any key sequence defined in the applet was useless. Trying to switch it with the mouse by selecting the flag didn't do anything either.
The only way I discovered to make the alt+shift keys work is by manually restarting hal through
#/etc/rc.d/hal stop
#/etc/rc.d/hal start
which is very strange since I have not changed any settings file.
Then again every time I restarted my comuter the ability to switch layouts was lost until manually restarting hal.
The only solution I found was going to the xfce keyboard settings and clicking the "Use system defaults []"
After restarting the system alt+shift switching began to work fine but the keyboard applet didn't work anyway.
As a consequence I think that all this is a big mess since I suppose that what I described is not the expected behaviour. The other effect of this is that only user with root priviledges could possibly add a new layout to the system (editing the /etc/hal/policy/10-keymap.fdi file) while the idea was that the gui tools of the DM (xfce in my case) permitted the user to change layouts on his/her own. Then again the keyboard layour applet never worked so it is impossible to have an indicator of the current layout. Where do you think should I write about this. I think this qualifies as a bug although I do not know whose fault is it: is it xfce, Xorg, hal or others? And having to restart hal maunally without having changed any config files is rather strange. The garbage displayed by the applet is also suspicious.
Any advice to where to report this and how to fix everything would be great.
P.S. Throughout all these tries to make things work the setxkbmap command from the cli never had any effect.

hmm... i have a similar problem:
i want two layouts: GB(english) and ES(spanish). I have them defined in /etc/hal/fdi/policy/10-keymap.fdi :

and i can actually switch between them. the issue is that i have an extra, unwanted layout. i have to press once in order to change from GB to ES, then if i want to switch back to GB, i have to switch twice. There is a third layout i did not configured.
Example of the layouts:
GB: abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz
ES: abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz and i can write accents and everything for spanish: ñÑáéíóú, etc.
unkown third layout: æ"¢ðeđŋħ→jĸłµnøþ@¶ßŧ↓"ł»←«
łħæŧ →ß ŧħ→ß???

Layout in ALV problem

Layout and style problem

I am building a new dashboard using one of the templates given in the program. Two things that are bugging and giving problems are with the styling in the spreadsheet. I formatted targeted cells in the spread sheet to use certain colors and font alignment in the cell's , but when i update the spread sheet in the dashboard, it does pull over the right cells with all the macro's but doesnt pull over the right styling. The text color is some thing else and it doesnt want to use the text alignment in the cells. I have to use certain colors because of the branding of the company. Please help

The macros in my excel work sheet call information from my excel data sheet. These two sheets then give style and data information through to the dashboard for the spread sheets used to display some cell information. Must i change the targeted cells color through script or enforce the style with script ? Cause i used the standard excel cell properties to do the formatting and have never had any problems with it not styling the dashboard right in the past. Can it be that my macros on the cells cause the cell style information not to be given to the dashboard?

Layout column alignment problem

I have a form where I am printing the line item details. I am using the following code
&EKET-EINDT&,,&EKPO-NETPR1&,,&EKPO-NETWR1&
This gives the output
08/26/2007 688.5 1377.02
Between unit price and net price i have another coloumn to print Tax, which is only printed for documents relevant for tax (this is printed from another text element)
the amount 1377.02 is now printing under a wrong column. I need to increase spacing between unit price and net price.
I tried using the following code (by adding additional ,, )
&EKET-EINDT&,,&EKPO-NETPR1&,,,,&EKPO-NETWR1&
But this does not make any difference in the output.
Can anyone help me how to get these values aligned?

Mark, as stated, the ,, between two fields indicates a tab in the paragraph format being used.
To adjust you may need to create your own paragraph format as a copy of a standard one so your changes do not affect other lines in the form. Generally for columns where you are printing a field containing text you would use a tab with LEFT alignment, while for an amount you would use RIGHT or DECIMAL alignment. Just measure on the paper where you want them and set the number of CM / MM for the tabs on the paragraph format.
Printing &EKPO-NETPR1& or &EKPO-NETWR1& is dropping the first character of these fields - this may cause you problems if you ever use large amounts. By choosing RIGHT / DECIMAL tabs, you will not need to remove any leading spaces.
If you need to change the output of a field there are a number of options you can use: eg: &EKPO-NETPR(C)& compresses spaces in the field - &EKPO-NETPR(Z)& omits leading zeros. In SE71 when editing the text in a window - use the Insert>Symbols>New menu option to get a popup where you can put your field name and select output options like this.

Page layout or printing problem?

I'm trying to create a layout to print my son's Eagle Scout invitations and I'm stumped. The cards will be 5" x 7" when folded as a 4 page. I need to feed them through the printer flat and as a 7 x 10". How do I get the two inside pages layed out? I've tried a couple of ways and I can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. If this doesn't make sense, ask me some questions and I'll clarify as best I can. thanks

What you're making is essentially a single sheet, printed both sides.
Open a new Draw document, then go Format > Document... and set document size to 2 pages wide by 1 page high.
Go File > Page Setup... and set the orientation to one of the Landscape settings (there may be only one landscape setting. You can set a Custom Page size, but I'd just leave it at US Letter and place items on the page's that they appear in the right positions on the actual sheets.
Set up a pair of Test pages to determine where to place the elements of your invitation.
1.
Use the Rectangle tool to draw a 1/2 inch square. Place the square at the top left of the left page. Press command-D to duplicate it, then, without deselecting the second square, use the arrow keys to move it up to match the top of the first square, and right until the left edge of the new square is on top of the right edge of the original (ie. the two squares are touching each other). Press command-D repeatedly until the row of squares runs from one side of the drawing space to the other.
2.
Press command-A to select all of the squares.
Press command-D to duplicate the full set.
Without deselecting the second set, use the arrow keys to line up the vertical lines in the two sets of squares, then to move trhe new set down until its top edge is on the bottom edge of the old set.
Press command-D repeatedly until the sets of squares cover the whole document.

Mark the top row by selecting the first square, and every third one after it, (ie. #s 1, 4, 7, 10... then using the Fill button and the Patterns Palette (both near the bottom of the Tools) to fill those squares with a pattern that will allow you to identify the edges of the printed page that are the "top" of the inside and outside of the card. Siomilarly, mark every fourth square in the leftmost column of the test drawing.

On two sheets of plain paper (letter size), use a red pen or pencil to draw a line across the (portrait oriented) page 10" down from the top, and another from top to bottom 7" from the left* edge of the paper.
*This assumes that your printer has a fixed paper guide on the right, an adjustable guide on the left, and that the paper enters the printer face up and head first.
Place the two marked sheets in the feed tray and print a copy of the test drawing.
From the result you will be able to determine what portion of the available workspace will be printed on the cards and the orientation of the printing wrt the card stock. Anything that's inside the largest outlined area on each page will be on the card. Cut out the area and fold the page to match the folding of the cards to determine where each page will fall.
Use that information to locate text and graphics on the drawing. Place the text for each page of the card into separate text frames to allow for easy adjustment to its placing if necessary. Be sure to leave some white space around the edges to allow for minor errors in paper handling by your printer.
When printing, it's probably best to do a full print run of Page 1, then flip the cards over and repeat, printing Page 2. I would print a single copy of the second run to ensure I had re-inserted the paper with the orientation to get the inside 'right side up' before committing to the full run.
With two pages side by side, your pages will line up like this:
Outside Back, Outside Front, Inside Front (left), Inside Back (right).

User Defined Field Print Layout Designer print problem

I am having a problem with a user defined field in the Business Partner - Addresses table. The user defined field is a "directions" text field that is intended to print on packing slips generated from the sales order. When I use the PLD to add the UDF in the header or in the table, all data lines in the body of the report repeat.
Please advise if others are seeing this and what work around or SAP plans exist to resolve.

I am facing the same problem.
I need to add UDFs in Business Partners - Addresses at row level. The field will be used for some Taxation Nos. like CST, LST, VAT. I have tried to add. the fields are added and data saved too.
But when I am going to PLD of Invoice and tried to get, the Business Partners - Addresses Table not showing in the list.
Shell I have your help to resolve this.

Layout and Pagination Problem

I had created a web page with a filter parameters on top of the web page and a report region with a report with an SQL query in PL/SQL Function Body Returning SQL Query. This is similar to the Issue Report in the Issue Tracker System example.
The problem is if you are on the last page of this report and then click edit to edit the last record on this page and delete it in the edit webpage then when you return to the Report page, you will see something like 1-5 of 25 in the list with a Next link on the right. If I click the Next link it just displays the same page again. You have to select some other item in the list then it will display some data again. How can I avoid coming back to an empty web page? Or just at least display the previous button so they can go to the last page of data which is now the last page of data. This does not seem quite right here. Also a similar problem happens with filtering if you are on the last web page. Sorry I am wordy and also new to HTML DB!

I get this problem as well. The workaround is to fire a reset pagination process when the submit/delete button is pressed.
This will then reset the pagination to the first record on delete or submit avoiding the blank page problem (only draw back is you may be on the last record page and will now find your self back at the first record, but i think it beats getting a blank page!!)
