LCM Promotion Error

Hi everybody,
I have face an error while using LCM.
I have a Production env and Dev env. They are both BOXI 3.1.
I can successfully login to LCM and define a new job. At this, I login to production env with a user which is member of administrators group. I add a Web Intelligence report to this job and not selected the dependent objects.
When I click "Test Promote" I have faced an error which says
Commit Status=Commit attempted and failed, Promotion Status=Failure : com.businessobjects.lcm.utilities.LCMException: com.businessobjects.sdk.biar.exception.XSDException$ImportParsingException: Import file parsing exception occurred : 'Item 'ALLOW_DISCUSSION_THREADS' does not exist in enumeration 'Note_RightEnum'. (FWM 04016)' (FWM 04009) cause:com.businessobjects.sdk.biar.exception.XSDException$InvalidEnumItemException: Item 'ALLOW_DISCUSSION_THREADS' does not exist in enumeration 'Note_RightEnum'. What will be the cause of this error message??
By the way, when I login with "Administrator" user, there is no problem..
Is there any suggestions about which right should I check?

Hi Omer,
in the Promote Window on the left-hand side, click on "Security Settings". Select the option (radio button) "Promote Security" and try the promotion again.

LCM question: Error when updating/promoting universe

Hi ya'll.
For some reason our universe got deleted in our Dev environment and we had to get a copy from Prod and copied it back Dev.
Now whe we are trying to migrate a report the Manage Dependencies function does not seem to work. It doesn't detect teh reports anymore. I did a check using the check relationships it doen't not grab any report anymore.
So what I did was manually included the universe in my objects list and when I promote i got thi serror message
Resolution Status=Copied, Dependency Status=All Required Dependencies Included, Commit Status=Commit attempted and failed, Promotion Status=Failure : Trying to create an object with duplicate name. Id = 6962
Any help is really appreciated. thanks.

One thing I noticed that the reports are no longer assocaited to a universe when I checked it in CMC. Is there a way to manually attach a universe to the report? I think this will solve the problem.

LCM Installation error

I am attempting to install LCM in a BOE XI 3.1 SP2 environment, with Windows 2003 Enterprise, SQL Server 2005.
We have a web server with Tomcat 5.5, and two BOE servers with clustered CMS and the BOE services. I am attempting to install on one of the BOE servers.
After starting, the installation immediately throws this error: "The LifeCycle Manager Tool cannot be installed on the system as the install prerequisites are not met"
All the services are running, and Tomcat is running. There is 35 GB free on D: (installation is on D:) and 4.5 GB on C:
Central Management Server, File Repository System, Adaptive Processing Server and Web Application Server are all there.
I can't think of any other prerequisites that aren't met. Any idea why the install fails?

Just spoke with Support; LCM must be installed on a standalone server with the full service stack including Tomcat (or other web server). It gets it's own license key (doesn't consume BOE license) and can be part of the cluster.

Help - LCM Utility Error - Could not connect to source - Null

Has anyone successfully used LCM to extract BI+ objects to files under 9.3.1?
I've configured it as per the doc, and it seems to connect to HSS Ok, but fails to connect to BI+ even though I've used the Project name and App ID as shown in Shared Services.

Trying to run LCM getting error when selecting Shared Service application

Recently created a new planning app. Want to import some LCM artifacts into the app. When I click on the newly created app in Shared Services/Application folder I get this message.
'Unable to connect to '[new planning app]' ensure that the application is up and running and the user has the appropriate rights to access this feature'
If I use the same logon ID to go into Hyperion Planning I can view/edit the new planning app.
Search in Oracle/Middleware/user_projects for log files but nothing really stood out

Its its a new application:
1. check data source to make sure information provided is correct and if it stilll fails then check logs and share the error message.
2. Try creating a new application, the moment you get a message in planning that application created successfully you should have the application created in EAS.

LCM Migration error

Hello All,
we are facing a serious migration issue using LCM. We have made some changes in Production and wanted to move them back to Development. ( It works either way here). I tried using LCM using Shared services via workspace and executed migration. I copied that particular folder each for shared services and Planning app into the Import &Export folder of the target environment and executed migration again.
It resulted in with few error namely calc sripts and report scripts dint migrate with blah blah errror.
When I opened the Planning web, I can see the new forms in the list of the forms. but when I click on open, it says "Error Occured".
Its the same when I open the dimensions and everything.
and to my heart attack, I couldnt even open the AppWizard through web, it even says "error occured". Now what is that I can do to achieve this?
Is my whole planning db corrupted? I thought I could atleast get back the app using app wizard by pointing out to the new DB. having my AppWizard gone, what is that I can do now?
Please suggest.

LCM export error

Gurus,
I was trying to do an LCM export of an essbase cube, but it failed. It give this message:

I have not seen this kind of error, at least while exporting. And it does not have any other message.
What could be the issue?

One more thing Rahul, if you do not mind.
I just migrated ESSBASE cube from one environment to another. I did by simply copying and pasting .otl, .csc, .rul, .rep, etc files from the source to target environment, which is hyperion\essbase\appname.
Then I cleared the data and then loaded the latest data. I agged it as well, so when I compred some of the reports, they look fine. Do I need to do anything else apart from doing this? For example, do I need to import-export security or any other thing. Do i need to do anything with the REPORTING AND ANALYSIS under HSS?

LCM import error

Planning 11.1.2.2.303, all planning services run on windows, essbase and Oracle tables run on linux.
I am trying to move a classic application from one environment to a new environment. I have exported all the "Planning" components from the source environment.
In the new environment I have created the new application (slighlty different app name, but same DB names) thru the planning web wizard, and defined all 11 dimensions, set performance and evaluation order.
I am trying to import the LCM information to fill in the rest of the applicaiton and am receiving this error on the import...
EPMLCM-30047: Failed to connect to "[none] " while performing import for application - "USROTRD". Received status code - 500 with error message - "LCM engine did not provide a migration Id. "
for all object types.
I have searched My Oracle Support KM, Google, etc, with no information on this error. Does anyone know what this means?

The first time I parsed thru the xml files and changed the application name (thankfully the app name was unique enough that a simple find/replace was all that was needed). When I did it this way there were only some objects that were receiving the error, mainly those objects associated with the plan2 cube (but not all objects for plan2 cube). I looked thru some of those xml files and it appears that all looks good as far as app/db names and folder locations.
The second time I simply tried exporting the old app name and loading to the new app from that directly and then the error shows for what seems to be all objects.

Is that the same message repeated for all objects( after you replaced the old app with new app)? Did you check the log files to see whether there are any other?

the account has admin rights to the source and target Planning apps ...
Have you tried to export the Planning Units to a file to see if it can do that successfully? yes and it has failed - only 50% out of 3000 units were exported

LCM VMS Error com.businessobjects.vms.VMSException: svn: URL

Hi Experts,
I am recieving below mentioned error after configuring the LCM with existing Subversion.

I have configured the subversion as mentioned in the installation document of LCM.
Document Name : "xi31_LCM_Install_en.pdf" Page number 20.
Business Objects Version : BO XI 3.1 SP3
I tried to telnet the system XXXX:5001 from BO installed machine and its working fine.
Any help is much appreciated.

Hi Mitesh,
I have noticed a few things.
Your error message points to port 5001 but your VMS settings are pointing to 6001. Make sure you are using the correct port.
Plus the error message contains underscore but your VMS settings does not have it.
Here is the logic. If you have created a repository as F:\LCM\BOVersionManagement, the -r parameter of your service on Subversion should be as "-r F:\LCM" i.e Folder level up the actual repository and your VMS setting should have repository name as "BOVersionManagement"
It goes without saying, if you have any underscores it should be included identically and the port number should be correct.

1 GB Promotion Error...Need help!

I received and activated my iPhone 6 Thursday. Unfortunately, the extra 1 GB of data did not show up on it's own. I called Customer Service Friday and both the Rep & Supervisor said there is no way to fix this because the system automatically adds it and it's not an option for them to add. So why did I get an email advertising this promo if Verizon cannot follow through? And really, there is no way to manually add it when a customer is deserving of it (sounds like a great scheme to me)? Does Verizon have "Joshua" from War Games that it cannot outsmart? Who do I need to contact to get this corrected?
BTW...I posted this question in Plans & Services on Friday and a rep was quick to ask for my credentials but then never got back with me. Another customer posted the same issue in my thread and a different rep is assisting her. I've followed up in that thread and I can't get either rep to reply.

After taking to 5 CS Rep and was given the run around. The first 2 rep said that they would note it on my account for a manager to approve and it would take 2 weeks. They were going to email me that it was added to my account. But they never did. So today, I spoke to 3 CS rep. The first one added a 1GB promotion to my account, but it was only till 01/2015. I ordered the iPhone in Oct and activated it the first week of Nov when I received it. So I used the Verizon Chat and talked to the 2nd CS rep today. She said that she cannot add it on my account since the promotion expired and I had to go to the Verizon store to talk to a manager to add it! What a bunch of **. Out of frustration, I chatted again about 2 hours later and got Tammy on the IM. I explained to her my situation and she was able to add 2x 2GB for our phone. It was 2 plan, the first promotion will expire on Dec 2015 and then the 2nd promo will kick in and expire on Nov 2016. Come on Verizon rep. I had to take 5 CS rep within a month to resolve the nationwide promotion that was on your Website and commercials on TV!! Is it new CS rep that I talked to that don't know anything? Verizon need to train their CS better and not waste my time. I give Tammy a 10 and give Verizon Wireless a ZERO! It should not be this hard to add a nationwide promotion!!!!

LCM migration error in Planing application

Hi,
I am trying to migrate 11.1.1.3 planning app from DEV to PROD env. Exported all the artifacts from DEV in the file. When I tried migrating only Dimensions (under Plan Type) in PROD. It came back with the following error.
Artifact_name = Account
Error = "Import failed for the following reason - Error parsing the deployement.xml"
None of the accounts members are loaded.
Can anyone please let me know, what could be the problem?

Hi,
Could you be using some XML key words in member names or aliases which might cause XML being not parsed correctly. I would try the following in the below order.
1. Validate application view
2. Search for double spaces, backslahes, double quotes, quotes, tabs, trailing spaces at the extracted xml file. Not exactly sure which one of these are reserved though.
3. Try to load the dimension without Alias.
4. Try to load the dimension in smaller chunks (needs editing the xml)
5. Try to load through .ads export rather than xml
However, I don't think there is a specific way to easily pinpoint the issue and above points just aim to narrow down the possible causes, so good luck!

LCM - Promotion of a Crystal Report

Hello together,
I am trying to promote a Crystal Report object from a dev system to a production system. Therefor I created a promotion job (Source- and Destination System are configured).
The problem which I have is, that when I am trying to add the object to my promotion job, I am not finding any Crystal Report (*rpt) in the popup window which opens when I click on "Add object". I am missing the point "folders and objects". I do not understand that - also because I actually do have all rights to see all objects. Do I need to configure somewhere a connection or anything similar in the CMC to see "folders and objects"?
I am quite new to this entire topic and would be very glad if somebody is maybe able to help me with any advice.

I am pretty sure, that the report is not stored under my favourite folder. I checked the CMC and there I have the points "All folders" and "Personal folder". My reports I'm finding under "All folders". I thought this is also the public area.. Any idea?

Error while accessing Promotion Management

Hello all,
I am running BI 4.1 SP2. While trying to access Promotion Management in the CMC, I am getting the following error:
Sorry, Promotion Management application is unable to process your request.
The error from the server is: Unable to retrieve the root LCM folder. Please check if you have sufficient rights to perform promotion management.
And I am unable to see or create any jobs.
Any ideas on what could be wrong and how to solve it please?

Public folders --> LCM --> Promotion Jobs
Firs set General--> View Objects on LCM folder
and then followed by the below rights on the Promotion Jobs folder
Then make sure you have enough rights on the application "Promotion Management" as below
