Ld searches LD_LIBRARY_PATH before -L paths?

Trying to debug a link error. Debug trace seems to me to clearly say that paths in LD_LIBRARY_PATH are searched for libraries before paths specified with -L command line options. To my reading, this contradicts the documentation. Where am I going wrong?
There are other problems with this search path, but for now I'm concentrating on the search order issue. Edited trace follows. libfsu triggers the error.
Command line is

The ld man page is not clear about directory search order, but the Solaris LInker and Libraries Guide, chapter 2, is very clear: LD_LIBRARY_PATH is searched first.
http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/817-1984/chapter2-2-sop?a=view
section "Using an Environment Variable"
But except for testing new libraries, you should avoid using LD_LIBRARY_PATH entirely, since better options are available for whatever purpose you had in mind.
Sometimes programmers resort to LD_LIBRARY_PATH in an effort to recover from having built a library or program incorrectly. The correct fix is to re-link the program or library with the right options.
For more on LD_LIBRARY_PATH, see Rod Evans' blog:

  • Can you filter/search images before importing them?

Is there a way to filter images before importing them in Lightroom?
    Scenario
I work with an extensive image collection stored on a server. The images contain a full set of metadata, including keywords and more. When I work on a specific project, I import the images into a Lightroom collection. That way I can easily review, rate and add additional keywords to those best-of images.
The challenge is that the images I want to add are from numerous folders. Plus, I often only want to add some images from those folders (not the entire folder). This collection process can be very time consuming -- manually locating the images and checking/unchecking the ones I want and repeating the process for the different folders the images reside in.
The process could be greatly simplified (and a lot faster) if I could filter/search for images that contain key words or other metadata to find the full set of images I want to import.
The key is that I’m not using a workflow to simply import all images from a memory card or download folder. I’m working from a large collection of existing images and want to import a subset of those images.
    Thanks in advance.

No, you cannot filter or search images before importing them.
But immediatley after import the images are automatically displayed in <Previous Import>.
They will be displayed there until you import another set of images.
While displayed in <Previous Import> they can be searched and filtered.

  • Search help for filename+path

    Hello,
When i need to get a file name and its path , i use the f.m. "WS_FILENAME_GET" that popup an explorer window.

    Hi Keshav,
    I built it!
    I made a search help with function-exit.
How do i publish it as a wiki?
    The function-exit is:
    FUNCTION yf4if_shlp_exit_filepath.
    ""Local interface:

      IF callcontrol-step <> 'SELONE' AND
         callcontrol-step <> 'SELECT' AND
         " AND SO ON
         callcontrol-step <> 'DISP'.
        EXIT.
      ENDIF.
STEP SELONE  (Select one of the elementary searchhelps)
This step is only called for collective searchhelps. It may be used
to reduce the amount of elementary searchhelps given in SHLP_TAB.
The compound searchhelp is given in SHLP.
If you do not change CALLCONTROL-STEP, the next step is the
dialog, to select one of the elementary searchhelps.
If you want to skip this dialog, you have to return the selected
elementary searchhelp in SHLP and to change CALLCONTROL-STEP to
either to 'PRESEL' or to 'SELECT'.
      IF callcontrol-step = 'SELONE'.
      PERFORM SELONE .........
        EXIT.
      ENDIF.
    STEP PRESEL  (Enter selection conditions)
This step allows you, to influence the selection conditions either
before they are displayed or in order to skip the dialog completely.
If you want to skip the dialog, you should change CALLCONTROL-STEP
    to 'SELECT'.
Normaly only SHLP-SELOPT should be changed in this step.
      IF callcontrol-step = 'PRESEL'.
      PERFORM PRESEL ..........
        callcontrol-step = 'SELECT'.
        EXIT.
      ENDIF.
    STEP SELECT    (Select values)
This step may be used to overtake the data selection completely.
To skip the standard seletion, you should return 'DISP' as following
    step in CALLCONTROL-STEP.
Normally RECORD_TAB should be filled after this step.
Standard function module F4UT_RESULTS_MAP may be very helpfull in this
    step.
      IF callcontrol-step = 'SELECT'.
        callcontrol-step = 'DISP'.
EXIT. "Don't process STEP DISP additionally in this call.
      ENDIF.
    STEP DISP     (Display values)
This step is called, before the selected data is displayed.
You can e.g. modify or reduce the data in RECORD_TAB
    according to the users authority.
If you want to get the standard display dialog afterwards, you
    should not change CALLCONTROL-STEP.
If you want to overtake the dialog on you own, you must return
    the following values in CALLCONTROL-STEP:
    - "RETURN" if one line was selected. The selected line must be
the only record left in RECORD_TAB. The corresponding fields of
this line are entered into the screen.
    - "EXIT" if the values request should be aborted
    - "PRESEL" if you want to return to the selection dialog
    Standard function modules F4UT_PARAMETER_VALUE_GET and

  • Can I search the current set path in a script?

    I have on my machine a folder full of mathscript commands and functions.  This folder is beginning to get quite large and I'd like to be able to clean it up a bit by grouping the files into sub-folders.  For example, I'd like to create the following folders;
    C:\MatrixXTools
    C:\MatrixXTools\StringTools
    C:\MatrixXTools\VariableTools
Of course, this would be fine if I was to set the path to every folder individually.  What I want to do though, is to set my path manually to C:\MatrixXTools and then put a command in there called 'import'.  The 'import' command would be responsible for searching the current path for a given folder and then adding it to the path when it finds it. So to import the StringTools, I would just call
    import "StringTools"
All of my base scripts would go into C:/MatrixXTools and then if a script needed to use the StringTools, I could just call the import function.
The problem I have is that I can't find a command that will return me the path into a string vector.  Is there some way of doing this?  'SHOW PATH' doesn't do what I want it to because it just shows the path and doesn't give me a way of programmatically viewing it.
Is there a better method of getting everything into sub-folders all together?
I realise that I could also do this using the startup script, however I have the tools in revision control (svn) so that other people can use them - I don't want to have to get everyone to change their startup script every time I make a new folder - I should be able to do this in the scripts.
Note: we are still on v62.2 and we are looking into upgrade options.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You can get the show path output into a string using === operator.
       [showPathStr,] === show path;
You can break up the showPathStr on the new line characters
into a string vector using the split function.
The split function was added in MATRIXx 7.1.9. The split function internally
uses the index and stringex functions to create the split string vector.
       showPathVector = split(""n",showPathStr);
If you try out the split function and look at the algorithm you will need to
download and eval MATRIXx 7.1.9 or higher.
Also, instead of changing startup.ms everytime you add a tools directory, why not
have startup.ms execute another script (i.e. execute file = toolsetup.ms) and you
would only update toolsetup.ms when adding a new tools directory.

  • Validate search criteria before pressing Go button

Simple search panel .... PO# with lov and Receipt Number with lov .... search results in the bottom.
When user presses Go to search, is there a way to disallow partial values? In other words, before they hit Go, I would like to make sure that there's a valid PO or Receipt Number in the search panel so I don't get results for multiple PO's or receipts?
    Thanks for any help.

LOV should do the validation that you are looking for , this is known as Autocompletion.
If you are typing some values in the LOV Input field and directly click on the button instead of tabbing out then this standard autocompletion feature cannot handle the case.
What you need to do to handle this is, enable validate-on-submit for the LOV.
    Thanks

  • Search results web part, path and query problem

    Hi
I am updating a search web part and I want to show results from a specific site, I m using "path" to filter results, results are being returned correctly but now query I type in search is getting ignored. for example if I type "zxcvbn" I
still get all results from that specific site. If I remove "path" filter I see proper results.
Can I edit web part query to include "path" and "query" I type in search box?

    Hi Shafaqat,
Thanks for sharing the solution which will benefit others who have the same issue.

  • How to search folder by folder path

As subject, how can I search a folder in content server using folder path?
    Thanks

I agree, I don't believe it's possible out of the box.
However, I've leveraged a idocscript function that allows for this:
    folderPath = m_service.getPageMerger().evaluateScript("<$getCollectionPathFromID(" + targetFolder + ")$>");
    where targetFolder is the xCollectionID.
This still requires that you build a custom component, but the above is the easiest way to get the path from the id.
I understand that you want to do the opposite, but this should give you another option of where to look (i.e., idoc functions).
I would think that reverse engineering the standard search page would be a good place to start since the folder picker puts a folder path into the form. I would assume that somewhere in that process it gets rendered to an ID. I would try to find where that happens and leverage it as such.
Let me know if this helps at all!

  • I had a Google search bar before now with Firefox 5 I have no search bar at all?

I have updated to Firefox 5 and now I have no search bar. I had Google before, but when I tried to download this it said it was not compatible with Firefox 5.
Now I have no search box.

I had this same problem, but you can add the search bar back by going to View > Toolbars > Customize... then somewhere near the bottom of the list of objects you'll find the Search bar that you can then drag onto the navigation bar where you would like it to go.

It is true that most people do not search the forum. They are usually concentrating on their problem and not realizing that most of the time someone had that problem before them and the question has been answered. Earlier, I had a post entitled "Most Asked Questions". Maybe we should have a FAQ blog or something to compile those questions again with some examples???

  • When I click on the + a new tab comes up, but no google search bar. I was able to get a new search bar before an upgrade.

To get a new search bar to come up I have to go to File, open a new window. If I select open a new tab, only a tab comes up, no search bar. I tried downloading current Firefox then reverted back to old ones trying to fix my problem.

If you reset Firefox then a new profile is created and some of your data (bookmarks, passwords, cookies, form data) is automatically imported and your current profile will be moved to the desktop (Old Firefox Data).
You need to create a new profile if you really ant to get rid of all personal data and have a factory reset.

  • Inject BGP Default Routes into Multiple VRF before Best Path Selection

    Hello,
    I have the following setup:
Multiple Border Routers with eBGP sessions to external AS. We receive a default route from this multiple AS to keep the Table manageable. We noticed an important part of our traffic was been SW routed instead of CEF when we had the Full Internet table. Router Resources came to the ground when we changed to a default.
Now I want to separate this default routes into different VRF. Attached is the Diagram.
My question is,  the multiple default route all go into the BGP Table. The BGP table then select the best route and place it on the RIB and then to the FIB.
I want to redistribute the different Route on the BGP table prior to the Best path selection algorithm and placed on the RIB.
    How can I achieve this?

    Hi,
Redistribution of multiple routes to same prefix is not possible. Even if you have configured BGP multipath and all different bgp routes got installed into routing table, during redistribution only route will be redistributed.
Also would like to understand the requirement of redistributing multiple BGP routes in to IGP. As per your diagram, 3 different eBGP sessions are on three different routers, so you can prefer eBGP route over iBGP received from other routers and can distribute eBGP route to IGP from each router. Thus you will have three different default routes in to IGP in core.

  • Jtree; searching node by inserting path name

    Hello,
I have a jtree which allows me to explore my harddisk.
The thing I want is finding a directory by inserting a path name ( with a JTextfield).
I am already able to reveice the inserted path.
But how do I let the JTree go to that inserted path name?
    For more information, just ask.
    Grtz

well, if you have the node and are using DefaultTreeModel, you can call: getPathToRoot(TreeNode)
Not sure how to find the node from the value except to just loop thru the entire tree... or maintain a separate table of value/node objects.

What search modality? Are you talking about spotlight?  If so when you hover over the ouput and the info box opens,  hold the option-command key and the file path presents itself at the bootm of the pane.
If it is a search in Finder  file path at the bottom of Finder window results.
In no search Finder window you can control click the title of the Finder Window for path or control-click the tool bar and drag the Path icon to the toolbar.
