Learning systems analysis and design

hi folks ,
i am a developer , but i do not know anything about systems analysis and design
and i wanna know about it because i want to develop applications on my own
so , i need to learn systems analysis , to begin developing the application
is not there any free reference i can learn from , is not there a documentation for that ?
could you help me please ?
thanks in advance

Hi
Systems Analysis is a big subject. I can remember doing a 6 week full time course, back in the 80s. However, as a starting point, just google 'Systems Analysis' and take a look at sites such as:
http://www.comp.glam.ac.uk/pages/staff/tdhutchings/chapter2.html
In addition, the help within Oracle Designer is not bad, even if it is from an Oracle slant.
Good luck

  • How to use SOA Suite in conjunction with SOA Analysis and Design Tools

    Hi everybody,
I am a novice in this field and I need some help regarding integrating analysis and design tools with SOA Suite.
We used to analyze and design with Oracle Designer and use its powerful form generator to develop a system. It almost covered all the software lifecycle and kept the traceability between anlaysis, design and implementation.
I have studied about the SOA concepts and read some papaer about SOA Suite. I have also installed the SOA demo based on SOA Suite and I found it absolutely amazing, but my problem is that It seems oracle does not have any tools for SOA Analysis and Design. am I right? if so, How can we analyze and design a system based on SOA concepts and implement it using soa suite in such a way that keeps traceability? What tools is used for this purpose?
It seems that IBM have some tools like Rational Software Architect and Rational Suite which enable people to design and analyze based on SOA concepts and then generates some pieces of code (like oracle designer in old days) but is it possible to design in these tools and then generating codes for SOA Suite ? (for example generating a bpel file from a design model)
As I told before I am a novice in this field and I would be so grateful if other users can share their expriences regarding this matter.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Navid

    Hi Fabio,
SAP Recommends the use of UML (Unified Modeling Language). They worked with Rational Software in order to provide an external modeling tool to supports SAP's class.

  • Business Process Analysis and Design

    hellow fellows
Please can u explain to me briefly what's involved in Business Process Analysis & Design
    Thanks
    Rasham

    Hello Rasham,
Business process analysis and design is a part of implementation / upgrade project. As name suggests it will analys client's business process to make the standard process across the group of company and make it most optimized to get maximum ERP support.
Some time it will cover under blueprint phase and some time it can be carried out as a saperate process before actual start of implementation.
The following link will give you detailed information about all phases of the project including Business Process Analysis and Design.

  • Cross-systems analysis and max. rules for a risk

    Hi all,
Customer environnement: GRC AC RAR 5.2 linked to 3 R3 4.6C environments (FB0, FB1 and FB2) with different purposes. Users and roles can exist in the 3 systems so we need to run cross systems analysis.
It turns out that the cross-systems analysis works well only if you declares the functions on only 2 environments (FB0 and FB2 or FB0 and FB1).
If we declare the functions on 3 environments (FB0, FB1 and FB2) one reaches the maximum number of rules for a risk, namely 46 655.
This limit is it revised upwards in version 5.3 (if yes, how?)
Or there happens a workaround solution to run cross system analysis on multiple physical systems (the customer environment target is 6!) ?
    Regards

The limit is based on the number of character combinations are available for a risk, so if the number of characters has been increased thenteh number of rules available won't have been increased.
In AC 5.3 the number of characters for a risk ID is 4 which is the sames as AC 5.2 therefore I doubt trhat the limit has been lifted of the code changed to accomodate mor rules per risk.
The only way around the issue is to create smaller risks instead of looking in systems 1, 2 & 3 look in 1 & 2, and 2 & 3 and 1 & 3.  Not ideal but at least you will get some results.
Sounds likje an enhancement request needs to be raised to me.

  • Compare two XML files: Analysis and Design

    Hi, Java/XML/JDOM experts,
I realised that an open source of Java utility to compare two XML is still missing. So I would like to write one for my JDOM excises.
I plan to do it in three steps:
    1.Define the problem domain.
2.Design the classes to be developed.
    3.Coding
Below is the problem domain. Would you review it and tell me if it is fine?
    Best regards,
    AG
    Compare two XML files
    Schema assumption:
The xml files used for the comparison must have the same schema.
    Definition:
    1. Two elements of simple type are said equal if their name and value are identical.
    2. Two elements of complex type are said comparable if their name, attributes are identical.
    3. Two elements of complex type are said equal if they are comparable and their children elements are identical.

    Hi,
    Thanks for reviewing my idea.
The xml files used for the comparison must have the
same schema.Including not having a schema at all? And if they do
have a schema, must they be valid according to the
schema?I will only support schema based xml files. To include a schema is a good practice. So I will valid them agaisnt schema (is this possible with JDOM? I am testing ...)
    >
    2. Two elements of complex type are said comparableif
    their name, attributes are identical.
    3. Two elements of complex type are said equal ifthey
are comparable and their children elements are
identical.Do you plan to require child elements to appear in the
same order for the two documents to be equal? (Note
that XML specifically says that the order of
attributes is not significant.)No. The order is not significant as I use the attributes as the keys to find comparable element counterpart.
Here is the sample code already tested. Any comments are welcome!
The next step is to define the "delta xml schema" that will guide me to store the comparasion results. Do you have any suggestions?
    Regards.
    AG
    public static boolean comparable(Element element1, Element element2)
         boolean returnValue=false;
         if (element1.getName()!=element2.getName()) {
              return returnValue;
    } else {
              returnValue=true;
                        System.out.println ("place 2");
         List attributeList=element1.getAttributes();

         Attribute workingAttribute=null;
         while (attributeIterator.hasNext()) {

  • How to learn video compositing and design for media?

Hi, I have some concerns about knowledge about digital compositings in After Effects.
I recently started to do  much more in AE, and I have trouble with lack of knowlegde about this topic. I know how to do some stuff technicaly in AE, but I often got suggestions that I must learn more about motion media design and composition of video scenes, camera movement etc, because I trying to do some commercials for tv-i am volonteer currently. My boss request from me more professional results. So do you have some advices which is the best way to start with all of this, to be more successfull in motion design?
    All sugestions are welcome!!!
    Regards!

There are lots of books about Visual Effects from lots of authors. Check Amazon.
Go to Motionographer.com and look at good work. Try and figure out how they did it.
Subscribe to a site like Total Training or Lynda.com or Video Copilot, or others and work through the tutorials.
If you don't know how to draw, at least learn to draw stick figures and storyboard ideas, brain storm, talk with your friends, and come up with ideas. Then, try and do them.
Listen to music, especially instrumental, and try and visualize movement to the music. Timing is as important as composition. Timing to audio is more important than composition.
Look at great artwork from the masters to pop art. I've learned more about lighting for film and photography from spending time in museums and looking at books on great painters than I did from anything else.
Mastering the tools isn't nearly as difficult as mastering the technique. The tools change all the time. The technique of good design and effective story telling don't depend on the software.

  • Analysis Process Designer and Inventory Management

In the How to guide for Inventory Management it mentions that you can you can intialise stock in the Snap shot Cube using the Analysis Process Designer (APD).  Has anyone done this and if so can you explain how or outline some steps? Thanks

    Hallo,
the APD does`nt be a useful tool for modeling a performant
data flow. A lot of SAP BW user think so.
The performance problems are given by the ddic intern table, using to uploading the extracted data into the apd used wa_table and structures.
To have the best performance on your scenario, please use the following scenario as possible.
    Step 1.
upload the extracted data from the psa into a data layer
there you can reduce and harmonize the data by using a transactional ods
    Step 2.
build a infoset that joins the data
    Step 3.
build one query to reducing data and make two copies of ist
    Step 4.
build a useful data mining model
    Step 5.
upload the results of the data mining model into a transactional ods
    Step 6.
link the uploaded data into a infoset ore write back into a standard ods
    Step 7.
    query the data
If you use this scenario you have a lot of benefits. Better performance, better quality of persistent data and actual and traininged data.
The recommend next step (if you want a alerting) is to build a reporting agent report - if you have usefull processes in  the query.
There are a workshop for Data mining and APD, named BW380.
    I hope I helped you.

  • Multiple R/3 Systems and Design

We have 3 R/3 Systems. System 1, System 2, System 3 and they are all sending PO's to our Vendors.
How should I design the Above R/3 systems in SLD and also in Repository(Should I need to create one Software Component and underneath should I need to create 3 scenarios OR should I need to create 3 separate Software components? The adavantages and Disadvantages?) If there is any PDF that narrates the above scenario

    hi,
    >>>Have would suggest u to have 1 SWC.
    why?
those 3 r3 systems can have completely different interfaces so why mix 3 different systems in
    one SWC ?
only because they are from the same software provider ?

  • Need someone to install Co server 4 and design delivery system

    Hi Guys.
I am investigating Adobe Content Server 4 as a delivery platform for eBooks. I currently operate an eBook retail business but would like to move into the distribution/wholesale side of things.
I am finding it difficult to locate anyone who has experience with the software both in terms of installing the software and designing the delivery side of things as well.
So, I thought I would come to the experts!
Basically, I need someone experienced to outline to me what the process of installation involves as well as a rough estimate of time and cost of same. I would also like them to describe how they would develop an efficient and easy to understand integration process with interested retail websites for safe and secure delivery of the Epubs and PDF's.
All this would be with a view to awarding the best candidate the contract to implement their plans.
I realise peoples time is valuable, so I assure you I am not here to waste time or effort, and I would appreciate the same from any applicants. I require only serious individuals/companies who have already installed or are currently installing the content server.
Thank you in advance for your time.

    Hi,
    I think I can help.
I'm an independent consultant building systems around Adobe Content Server 4 and around Adobe InDesign.
I have 17 years experience working for Adobe which included development roles in the InDesign and Digital Publishing groups (and others, but it's really the Digital Publishing group that is of interest here.)
You can get in touch with me at [email protected] My web site is http://www.tripleshotsoftware.com, and my LinkedIn profile is here: http://www.linkedin.com/in/paulnorton.

  • I am using a DAQ board to get the singnal now i need to perform frequency analysis and this system doesn't employ any filters etc it's just a signal

Iam using AT-MIO-16E-2 board to retrieve the signal now i need to perfrom a frequency analysis and this process doesn't employ any filters etc.

There are a lot of shipping examples that you can look at. They're under Analyzing and Processing Signals>Signal Processing. There are software filters and window functions that you can use but if you are having aliasing problems, then the only thing you can do is add hardware filtering.

  • What is difference between bex analyser and bex browser

what is difference between bex analyser and bex browser . please explain what are use of both and what we do in both.

    hi
    Bex Browser
The Business Explorer Browser (BEx Browser) makes it possible for you to access all document types of the Business Information Warehouse that are assigned to your role or that you have stored in your favorites. You can select and open documents assigned to you in the BEx Browser or store and manage new documents in the BEx Browser.
Document types that you can work with in the BEx Browser are:
    · BW workbooks
    · Documents that are stored in the Business Document Service (BDS)
    · Links (references to file system, shortcuts)
    · Links to internet sites (URLs)
    · SAP transaction calls.
    · Web applications and Web templates
    · Crystal Reports
    Bex Analyser
The Business Explorer Analyzer (BEx Analyzer) is the analysis and reporting tool of the Business Explorer that is embedded in Microsoft Excel.
    Features
You can call up the BEx Query Designer in the BEx Analyzer, in order to define queries. Subsequently, you can analyze the selected InfoProvider data by navigation to the query created in the Query Designer and create different query views of the data. You can add the different query views for a query or for different queries to a work book and save them there. You can save the workbook in your favorites or in your role on the BW Server. You can also save the workbook locally on your computer.
Beyond that, you can precalculate the workbook and distribute it by e-mail to recipeients or you can export it to the Enterprise Portal and make it accessible to other employees in the company.
You can start queries in a standard view (with a Standard Web Template set up in Customizing) in the Web browser and forward the URL or continue to navigate on the Web. Similarly, you can export the Web query to MS Excel 2000.
Overview of the Functional Area of the BEx Analyzer:
    ·        BEx toolbar
You access the functions of the BEx Analyzer from the BEx toolbar, which takes you to the BEx Open dialog box where you can open existing queries, or to the BEx Query Designer where you can create new queries or change existing queries.
    ·        Evaluating Query Data
The BEx Analyzer offers convenient functions for evaluating and presenting InfoProvider data interactively. In the BEx Analyzer, you can add queries to workbooks, navigate within them and refresh the data. You can also process the queries further in Microsoft Excel or display them in the Web browser in a default view.
Navigation of a query allows you, for example, to filter characteristics on a single value, drilldown on all values for a characteristic, regroup characteristics and key figures in the rows and columns of the results area, or hide key figures. Navigation results in different views of the InfoProvider data. In addition, a range of further functions is available which allow you to edit a query interactively (for example, sorting, cumulated output, among others). In addition, you can use the editing functions in Microsoft Excel in order to set up individual format templates, to print results areas, or to create graphics.
    ·        Queries in Workbooks
Queries are inserted into workbooks so you can display them. When you insert a query, a link is made between the cell areas of the worksheet and the data of the InfoProvider upon which the query is based. A link therefore exists between the Business Explorer and the Business Information Warehouse Server (BW Server).
When inserting a query into the workbook, a VBA routine is automatically generated in the workbook. You can also connect the Business Explorer with your own VBA programs (Visual Basic for Applications).
You can create workbook templates, into which you can insert your queries. Workbook templates can contain pre-determined items for the area of the query, formatting settings, logos, VBA macros, and so on.
    ·        Precalculating workbooks
You can precalculate and distribute workbooks with the BEx Broadcaster, which is a Web application you get to form the BEx toolbar. The system generates MS Excel workbooks with historical data. You determine the time for precalculation yourself: You can have workbooks precalculated at a predefined time or they can be precalculated whenever data in the underlying InfoProvider changes. You can have the precalculated workbooks sent by e-mail or you can export them into the Enterprise Portal, where you can make them available to employees within your company.
    Activities
To start the BEx Analyzer, choose Start ® Programs ® SAP Front-end Business Information Warehouse ® SAP Business Explorer Analyzer.
You can also access the BEx Analyzer via SAP Easy Access ® SAP Business Information Warehouse ® SAP Menu ® Business Explorer ® Analyzer or in the Business Explorer Browser using the Business Explorer Analyzer symbol in the menu bar.
Hope this will solve your issu

  • Detailed Source System Analysis

    Hi
I am a new bie to this community and am trying to learn things as much as I can asap. :)
I am looking for any standard templates available for a detailed "source system analysis". We are trying to put that into practice on two systems that we are targeting and I just want to make sure that we are not missing any information that needs to be gathered from the source system from any angle. So, any of you can point me to the right links, reosurces or templates that we have that would help in capturing all these, help me.
If my understanding goes right, this is a task that is inevitable in a typical warehouse development cycle. So, I am expecting such templates to exist already. Correct me if I am wrong.
hoping to hear favourable replies asap.. :)
Have a great day at your end..
    best regards
    Manesh

    Hello Manesh,
If your question is non-technical I would recommend the book "The Data Warehouse Lifecycle Toolkit" by R. Kimball et al (ISBN: 0471255475) as a starting point for discovering client requirements. The book contains detailed questions for every phase of a DW project including source system discovery, it even contains an Excel questionnaire / requirements sheet on the companion CD).
If technical and OWB-related, the next release of OWB (10.2) will as we're told contain advanced source system table analysis. The present OWB only lets you discover database objects that can be imported to OWB, as well as discover/sample flat file structures.
    Good luck, Hans Henrik

So, you have data in a .csv file
Then you load that data into a relational database.
Now you want to select that data and place it back into a file for Excel ......
Hmm..   Makes me wonder why you bothered with the database in the middle.
the database itself is more than capable of efficiently performing your calculations (assuming a reasonably rational table design).
Maybe you could provide a better description of the business problem to be solved, instead of a pre-conceived (and possibly ill-conceived) technical solution to that unspecified business problem.  The we could provide better advice.
