Lenovo s890 Messaging

Hi,
I've been using s890 for almost a month now. Recently, i noticed that the messaging service is having slow response or lags every time i read some messages. I've already deleted some conversations but it still has slow loading time.
Is there something I need to fix in the phone or an update or app to download to fix this. Or is this just a usual limitation of the phone? Thanks!

Currently i have around 30 msgs remaining (long and short conversation) after deleting almost half of my inbox msgs. Usually the lag is caused when deleting a message (even a single conversation). Some function is okay like opening/reading, typing, calling directly from inbox, etc. The lag starts when the screen returns to Messaging main page (i.e. after deleting a msg; after reading a message).
May I ask..if i upgrade to 4.1.2 will messaging interface become better? I'm still using 4.1.1...

  • Lenovo S890 Battery

    Hi,
    My mom got the Lenovo S890 smartphone about a month ago and didn't face any problems at all. Just recently, the battery started draining drastically. It drained 90% with the phone pretty much inactive for a day. When the battery reaches about 20% it couldn't make any calls or recieve/send messages.
    Any help on this issue is much appreciated. Thanks.

    My lenovo s890, got stuck/dead. it cant open and dint boot any thing after i did this,
    at first , i want to root my phone, i follow the intruction from youtube

    Hi, rooting your phone voids your warranty. Always make a nandroid backup before you try something like this.

  • My Lenovo S890 battery suddenly drains in minutes

    Just last night I realized that my Lenovo s890 has been shut off due to battery drain from full charge to 0 in minutes...So what I did is to recharge it again and to my amazement, in under 30 minutes it has fully recharged, but when I unplugged it from the charger there's the battery notification display rapidly counting down...I have checked online for general topics on this matter and tried all the suggested tips and solutions but to no avail...My unit is still under 1 year from date of purchase...please help...

    I'm surprised and at the same time disappointed that nobody had offered any input to sorts of troubleshooting to somehow give a semblance of solution to my unit"s problem, or perhaps this is a first type of a problem of its kind thus, no one could come up with any clear solution...Anyway, I have done some tinkering while waiting for replies, and I believe I have solved my own problem, and decided to share with you guys for reference if ever you encounter this same problem:
       I consulted years-old forums about android phones quick-battery loss problem and picked out potential solutions there such as:
    1. Not using the Facebook app since its using lots of battery juice by posting notifications which come minute after minute; and instead just use the FB in the built-in browsers which consume very little battery juice...
    2. Tried the full battery drain then recharge 10 times, and after 4th recharging, there already is a significant normalization of my battery life, On this 4th recharge, I got full battery by 7am. After 16 hours, its only down to 66%, and that's with a considerable amount of Wi-Fi connectivity.
    3. I also suspected a particular screenshot app as a culprit for the sudden rapid battery drain, as if this app has caused my Lenovo's battery draining behavior to go haywire. Upon uninstalling the app, the draining behavior of my battery gradully returns to normal...
    4. When this rapid battery draining happened, I had the combinations of Lenovo Battery Saver, NQ Power Booster, and Green Power Free apps which I all used to monitor and keep my battery life at check...then after the "incident" I  stopped using the said apps and replaced them eith Super Battery Saver and Juice Defender which were effective when I still have my Lenovo A90, at first there was a semblance of normalization in my battery life but with this screenshot app[which I also uninstalled with the 3 powersaving apps, then re-installed with this 2 replacement battery saving apps] the battery draining was still fast, which continued even after the second uninstalling of the screenshot app. What I did is to uninstall Juice Defender and Super Battery Saver and replace it with Lenovo Battery Saver and Green Power Free but to no avail...Next move: replaced the Lenovo Battery Saver and Green Power Free with Juice Defender  and NQ Power Booster, and upon the said 4th recharging the return to normal battery draining behavior...
    The full-drain then recharge 10 times is still on and I'm still monitoring my unit's battery draining behavior...I will be posting updates...

    my brother bought another one last month
    his lenovo has the google play included on it
    mine came with no google play or google support on it
    tried to install any raw rom with no hope
    they all give me black screen with lines crossing it
    after flashing done iwas able to just hear boating up sound and screen still black
    the onlyworking rom on my phone now  is

    is there any way to make google play and google framework working on my set

    Thank you for getting back to me (crazy) bananman,  it' a GREAT relief to know that it's the HD and NOT the processor, which would be catastrophic but being that the system has TWO 500GB HDs, I can back EVERYTHING up, remove the faulty drive and replace it with the "good" drive.
    Unfortunately the faulty drive is the "C" Drive which means that I will need to reinstall W7 along with all my programs, apps, files,......... which is a pain in the &^%$ but it beats LOSING all my data.
    I understand what I am about to ask is a personal choice but if you don't mind, I would appreciate your thoughts/suggestions/advice/.......... .
    Being that the Lenovo K210 system is 3+ years old (i.e. LONG past warranty) and I have to basically (re)install W7 along with ALL my personal data and the cost of a new (replacement) system is relatively not "that" expensive (<$400), what would you advise me to do / what would you do, under the circumstances?
    For your convenience, I have listed a brief description of the Lenovo K210 system to help make your "decision"

  • Lenovo S890 no flip cover included = fake?

    Alright well it seems that some Lenovo S890's have flip covers included and some don't. What's the deal with this? The official Lenovo S890 manual states that the flip cover is an included accessory. Would it be safe to assume that if the phone doesn't come with a flip cover that theres a possiblity its fake? Or is it just that sellers open the box and take the flip cover out and sell it seperately -.-

    But im confused, about ram value. This phone ram value is
    470MB to be seen. Is it true ?
    And when i play little games then touch
    screen get crash/lock/off, come back 2-3 minutes.
    İ did install another roms, but didnt fix it.

    Again I'm not aware of a 512MB RAM version.
    My personal opinion is that you have a lower spec S890 meant to be sold only in mainland China.
    Probably the seller installed a custom firmware(modified Chinese version) with GAPPS(the Chinese firmwares are only CN/EN and don't include GAPPS>Google services)...
    ....They do that to cover a wider international market.
    The EMEA region version has 1GB of RAM...

  • Lenovo s890 keypad hangs

    Hi,
    i am using lenovo s890 since 4 months and was good so far. But since today morning when ever i start to type something , after a word or two the keypad hangs. Along with the keypad ,the whole screens freezes for a while . I will have to restart my cell or wait for a minute or more to start typing again. And the problem repeats.
    It would be a great help if someone can suggest some solution for this .

  • Lenovo S890 Phone Memory

    Good morning,
    I bought the S890 and somehow im quite satisfied. The problem is the partitioned memory. From 4g, it was divided into 2 (internal storage and usb storage). Is there anyway to combine these two? Im not really maximizing the phone's memory especially the usb storage. Please advice.

    I fully endorse this. Never buy Lenovo product if want a good product with service support. I was in CHINA for work and bought Lenovo smartphone S890. The microphone stopped working and I went to Lenovo service centre for repair. I showed them the reciept etc. I was told that since the product doenot have international warranty, it would be charged. The service centre indented spare part for the phone and I waited for 15 days.
    Later I was informed by service centre that spare will not be provided for my phone even on payment of service charge. If lenovo wouldnot repair the phones made by Lenovo then who will repair them even on payment of actual expenses. I have not seen anything like this in my whole life. This is what they finally wrote....

  • Lenovo a7000 Messaging app lagging and slowness issue

    Hi friends , i do have Lenovo a7000 . since the 1st update i am facing a severe problem of messaging apps lagging and taking too much time to open the messaging app . I found out the Issue of this problem that since they introduced star marke near the name of the thread this problem started and since then this problem persists . so if any one if still facing this issue please do tell me . and lenovo JAMEZ Please provide a solution to this issue  as it takes to much time to open banking secure sms which gives us very less time to enter authentication code.  Lenovo team please remove that Star near messaging thread nad please help us out as now a days all the banks do send authentication codes with a limited time to enter it.   so James and lenovo team please resolve the isse ASAP . and I request other users who have same problem to post here so that we can know how many people are affected.

  • Lenovo s890 displaying white lines blur screen everywhere

    I have s890 with me for more than 1 year now. Yesterday suddenly Mobile screen started to blur and showing vertical lines all over . font started to blur and showing double letters. One thing surprise me that top section where sim signals and battery signals are showing are not blur.I tried restarting phone also tried to remove SD card. Also tried factory reset. nothing worked yet. Any solution on this or anyone having same issue like this? Also this forum does not have attachment ability or I will share screenshots for this.

    For those who are looking for official ROW ROM for S890, read this thread.
    BTW, this ROM can be used on any version of S890, including the Chinese version, as claimed by the Russian site. If someone is willing to try and confirm this, please do.
    This may solve the follow problems:
    1) GPS not working / slow on locking
    2) Playstore not working
    3) Apps displaying in Chinese
    If this ROM solves other problems as well, please do post it here.
    Known issues of this ROM (my experience so far):
    1) Bluetooth causing ringtones / notification tones to play slowly
    2) In-built email program crashed after adding / removing several accounts

    My stock keyboard in Lenovo S890 doesn't have enter key, is this normal ? How to add new line ?
    However this happened only in messages, while using whatsapp the enter key present.

    the fact that your question is posted in Order Management section, does the move order automatically generated by OM?
    nevertheless, i don't think you should (or allowed, in this case) to add a new line in transact move order. Transact move order only queries (not create records) the move order lines eligible to allocate and transact.
    So, I don't see why you need to add a new line in transact move order.
    You can, however, add a new line in the allocation of the lines, where for instance, you need to have half of the line allocated to one locator, and the other half to another locator

  • Worst service experience...irresponsible lenovo customer support

    This is conversation I had with some of the officials of lenovo.
    Not a single person found responsible, starting with Sales support , technical support, Salesservices ED..and list goes on.
    I cried out my issue about 15-17 times to different person, not a single person have kept any track of it niether it is resolved yet. And after all the hustle the final email answer comes from lenovo's Service ED is that they cant help contact local lenovo!
    Worst service ever anyone can provide!

    Just imagine that a customer is not able to use the system due to non- availability of Lcd rear screen ( part no    90200798 ). God only knows what happens when there is problem with hard disc or some important part. 
    I have been trying for over 3 months now both at your Bangalore office ( at-least 20 times ) service contact no and in US on 877-453-6686 at-least 10 times.
    Your service centre has sent me the wrong part and are not accepting to refund the amount paid USD 72.87
    Even after providing all relevant information about the problem and the product delaying tactics are being adopted by putting irrelevant questions.
    All desired informations are given below once again. 
    1. Attached the copy of bill
    2. Ordered the part by calling Lenovo (877-453-6686)
    Day before yesterday I called Lenovo (877-453-6686) and had a conversation of 1 hour and 10 minutes  in which the employee gave me an assurance that I will receive an email within 24 hours and he even told that he has made a note of calling me on 06 Nov, 2014 and check with me whether I have received the email or not. I neither have received the email nor I have received a call from him. The employee id is 198558.
    Looking to the attitude of the so called service department of Lenovo I will be left with no other option but to post the case on all social media sites so that the world knows the true face of Lenovo’s service department. I will also be constrained to take legal measures for recovery of the loss .
    Please treat this as the final call and ensure that the problem is attended not later than 10th November 2014.

I have tried at all the places in India and got this requirement registered at Bangalore customer care who have finally confirmed that the model is discontinued and the spare part number 90200798 is not available in India now.
    I request you to kindly guide me as to where this can be repaired. It is surprising to note that a product which could not be repaired despite my best efforts.The customer care in US tells me that they have the part number when I try to order it they send me a different part number.
    Me and my friends have been preferring Lenovo products and therefore request you to take up my case on priority and under special treatment.

    It was very kind of you to purchase a Lenovo laptop for your daughter before she went off to college! I’m sure such a purchase was intended to help her through her studies, and I’m truly sorry to hear that she’s encountered issues with the touch-pad so soon after purchase.
    Generally speaking, outside of the Return & Exchange Promise we would attempt to repair the laptop under either a manufacturer warranty or a Geek Squad Protection plan (if one was purchased) depending on the issue at hand. While it is nice to hear that one store may have been willing to offer an exchange, this would be considered an exception and not all stores may be willing to provide such an option. However, this information should of course have been shared with you in a respectful manner, and I apologize if it wasn’t.
    Using the information you registered with the forum, it seems that this purchase was made in August of 2014, putting you far outside the Return & Exchange Promise. I am sorry if the solution offered by the secondary store did not coincide with the first store’s option, and that their solution of repair was unsatisfactory to you. With that said, I would encourage you to return to the store to see what repair options we may have for you. Please let me know if you should have any questions.
