Less white space for Insert image

Eliminate some vertical white space on the Insert Image window.
Sometimes this large window runs off the bottom of my browser window.  I have to scroll down past all the vertical white spce to click on the insert image button.

if all you need is have mapviewer render the style and place it next to your theme control, you can probablly just issue a regular map request with only 1 feature and specify the style to be used on that feature. For instance, if you just want to show the M.STAR marker style, you can issue a request containing only the center point and specify the render style for the center point as M.STAR. you can also specify the exact width/height you want for the final 'map'. Yes if you issue a legend-only request mapviwer adds white space to it and ignores the width/height attributes.
finally, we will add your last two items into our wish list. thanks.

  • Why are there white spaces between my images when I preview my html design on a web browser?

    I am creating an email newsletter with Dreamweaver CC and after being unable to find a way to use layers I opted to create the entire image in Photoshop and then break it into pieces to create the image links.  I'm using tables and I have the padding and everything set to "0", but when I view it in the browser there are white spaces between each image. It looks solid in Dreamweaver, but in pieces on web browsers.  I do not understand how or why this happened and I cannot figure out how to fix it.  If anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate it.  Thanks.

    I only used Photoshop for the layout.  Then I created web-safe images for everything that I used for Dreamweaver.  I uploaded the images to the internet and then image sourced them into the code so that they will be viewed properly in the correct circumstances.  I haven't used HTML since about 2004 and I wasn't very good then.  I've just been thrown back into it and I'm pretty much learning as I go.  This is my second attempt because I wanted to make the newsletter more eye-catching.  My first one is very basic and without a background image at all and that looks fine in pretty much all email clients.  I tested it with Litmus.  All except for Windows Live Mail, where the images didn't act as links but as static images.  It works fine with the others I tested manually.  Those being Gmail, Yahoo and AOL.  I will try the display:block and get back to you.  Thanks for your suggestions.

  • White balance for infrared images

    Hello there,
    I love making infrared photos with my digital camera (Canon dSRL).
    When I take an IR shot, I usually set the custom white balance inside the camera, so that false colours appear correctly. If I open the CR2 RAW file using the software provided by Canon (Digital Photo Professional) the image appears correctly; on the contrary, if I use Adobe Camera Raw (which I prefer to) it seems that my custom white balance is not properly displayed.
    So I'm wondering if this is an issue of CR or there is something to do that I don't know. Can you help me?

    This tutorial by Sean MacCormick shows how you can edit the camera profile so that White Balance for IR images is brought within the adjustment range that Camera Raw and Lightroom http://lightroom-blog.com/2009/05/creating-ir-camera-profile.html

  • Remove extra white space from an image

    I want to remove the extra white space in my image while writing it into a jpeg file using JPEGImageEncoder.
    Any help is welcome .

    ok.. Am having a JPanel whose width is set to 77000. But almost 60% of right hand side of the Panel is empty. I will create a BufferedImage from this component and then write it into a file using JPEGImageEncoder.
    The empty portion of the panel is coming as a white space in the image.
    Now how to remove this ? Was that clear enough ?

  • Adjust white balance for multiple images at once?

    Is this possible to adjust the white balance for multiple images at the same time?
    Or adjust the exposure for that matter?

    Of course, this is similar to the question you asked in this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=3964192#3964192
    except use White Balance instead of Exposure. For others who might be wondering the same thing:
    1) Set the White Balance for one image.
    2) Select all of the images you want to copy the White Balance to.
    3) Type "O" to initiate the Lift & Stamp HUD
    4) Click on the image with the White Balance you want to copy with the with the L&S up arrow.
    5) In the L&S HUD uncheck all the checkboxes except Adjustments.
    6) Click on the disclosure triangle to the left of Adjustments. If there are other adjustment settings besides White Balance listed, select them and delete them with the delete key.
    7) Once all you have is Adjustments White Balance in the L&S HUD, then click the "Stamp Selected Images" button in the L&S HUD.

  • White space/margin around images in onClick popup windows

    Hi. I'm using a JavaScript function that comes with
    dreamweaver so what when users click on thumbnail images, a larger
    window pops up with the image. Here's the function:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    function MM_openBrWindow(theURL,winName,features) { //v2.0
    window.open(theURL,winName,features);
    //-->
    </script>
    Here's an example of how I'm using it in the code:
    <a href="javascript:;"><img
    src="dr_chm_allrgt_200x281.jpg" width="200" height="281" border="0"
    onclick="MM_openBrWindow('dr_chm_allrgt_400x300.jpg','','width=300,height=400')"
    /></a>
    This works great, except for one thing: the image doesn't
    appear in the very top left-hand corner of the pop-up window --
    there's some white space around it, and the right and bottom edges
    of the image are cut off, because they don't fit in the pop-up
    window. I'm wondering, is there some way around this problem,
    that's less messy than changing the width and height that I'm
    passing to the function every time?
    Thanks

    You are opening an image directly in the browser -
    MM_openBrWindow('dr_chm_allrgt_400x300.jpg'
    In that case, you have no control over how the browser
    displays the image.
    To get control, you would have to open an HTML page that
    contains the image
    instead of opening the image directly.
    There are extensions that will do this for you on the fly -
    the one I use is

  • Creating a "space" for insertables characters in cross references

    Is it possible to create a cross reference that has a "space" where text can be inserted later? I am thinking of a reference like "see No. __ in Fig.42 on page 8-3" with __ being the space where the number from the image can be inserted. My idea for a cross reference would be like this:
    see No. <$inputChar><$inputChar> in Fig. <$AbsNumExkl> on page <$chapnum>-<$SeiteNum>. The tag <$inputChar> being a space for an insertable character. Is such a  thing possible in FrameMaker or is there even a default tag in FrameMaker for such a "space"? I haven't a clue what I should be looking for to find a solution, hence posting my question here.
    Any help or ideas would be very mucha ppreciated!
    Thanks

    Hi Matt,
    and thanks first of all for your reply. Indeed I am looking to "call up" a call reference in an image. I have a document where the images have call-outs IN the images (bitmaps). I have only just now started to use FrameMAker 11 and  i just stumbled across the Hottspot feature (I am not sure when the Hotspot feature was included) and will delve into that sometime when I have the time.. (harhar), hoping I migt find a work around to meet my needs with that.
    Anyhow - for now, my prob is that I wish to make a reference to a call-out number in an image.
    The cross refernce is (e.g.) "see No. __, Fig. 42, Page 87".
    The Xref I CAN refer to without problem naturally is "Fig. 42, Page 87", but as you can see, I had hoped to be able to "be lazy" and have FM automatically also put down "see No." for me but leaving some space, where it is possible to insert text, meaning to leave a blank of some sorts in the "code" of the cross reference. Theoretically the Xref would be interrupted where text could be inserted (in the example fill in the "__" in my example).
    Does makle that a little clearer?
    As I had to meet my deadline I did put down my very own individual "No. XYZ" each time before setting the cross reference but it is far from ideal.
    On the whole, I find working with images with call-outs is tedious in FrameMaker.- I would absoloutely LOVE a feature where it would be possible to work on different layers.
    I have a few ideas I would like to try out and fiddle around with to find a solution for my problem. Unfortunately I am not properly trained on FM itself, I have been through all other DTP tools starting with Quark and PageMaker, Indesign etc. I am HTML-savvy, dabbled with Javascript, php and some XML, but the structured Framemaker is still only an untouched yet intriguing concept.
    If any more ideas come your way, or if you have any recommendations for my to may be find work arounds let me know!
    Thanks

  • How to remove white space between sliced images ? Please help.

    I've created a site by exporting sliced images from Photoshop into Dreamweaver. Some images have a thin white line between them that I can't get rid of. Your slices appear to be a little bit off.
    Use Photoshop for images only.  Use DW to build your web pages.  Exporting HTML from graphics apps is not going to produce good cross-browser results.  It's really only for quick prototypes; not real web sites.

  • Weird rectangular box replaced the white-space for san serif

    I opened up a pdf that used to have a normal san serif text, but now, it has little square boxes for every spacebar spaces. The text comes out good but it's the white spaces that come up in square characters. Most other fonts don't do this but some other ones do this as well. Here is a picture of it:
    http://i574.photobucket.com/albums/ss186/johnclee90/1212.jpg
    please help me.

    I meant to say InDesign and not pdf. The pdf output of the indesign long ago does not have any square boxes but if I try to export the same indesign into pdf, it has the square things showing up on the pdf as well.  Anyways, the sansserif might have already existed, but my actual use of the sanserif came along with an already made CS2 template (I have CS3)from my instructor which was using the font. Everything was fine and normal (as in no square boxes) until recently when I opened the file again.
    I checked the font folders in my windows system, and it has SansSerif, SansSerif Bold, SansSerif Bold Oblique, and SansSerif Oblique in truetype font just like any other font files in there.
    Also this is the original CS2 template that I work on from. When I first opened this a while ago, it didn't have the weird boxes.
    http://i574.photobucket.com/albums/ss186/johnclee90/111.jpg
    could it be that I've installed new fonts to my system since that time?

  • Default Stroke for Inserted Image?

    When I import a new image into a site in iWeb '08, It (by default) puts a 10 pt gray stroke around the image.
    Is there any way to change that default (say make it 4 pt gold stroke instead)?

    Sure, just set a CSS rule for that image to change the pointer. Give the image a distinct ID, like "imageLink" and then create a rule like this:
    img #imageLink {
         cursor: pointer;
    If you need IE 5.5 support (or below), use this rule:
    img #imageLink {
         cursor: hand;
         cursor: pointer;
    You should be aware though that the "hand" property for cursor is early IE specific and won't pass CSS validation; for it to work properly cross-browser be sure it comes first. Again, use this second rule only if you need way-backwards compatibility.

    Hello all!

  • Black and White Preview for all images Quick and Easy can it be done?

    Before I switched to Mac, I used a google program to do my iphoto/aperture like editing called Picasa. Picasa allowed me to change my view to black and white so that all my images looked black and white until I changed my view back. This was GREAT for letting me look at a wedding or a group of images and quickly scan for the ones that looked spectacular in black and white as apposed to color.
    I have been desperately trying to find a setting in Aperture that will allow me to do that so that I can get a super quick preview of everything and mark the ones that I want to really spend time converting to black and white.
    Does anyone know how to do this? I would almost be willing to change my monitor settings to greyscale temporarily if that is even possible.

    What I do is this:
    In the View Menu set Proofing Profile to Gray Tone.
    Then anytime you want to see things in B&W, hit ShiftOptP
    (Pictures are only B&W in Viewer only mode--large or full screen. But you can use the arrow keys to move through a whole album)

  • How to convert all white - alpha for vector image?

    I'm attempting to make a new font. Currently I've been saving all the png -> vector images that I work with as .AI files, so that I can import them into my font program later, and they open fine in illustrator. The problem is, I usually save my vector images with a white background instead of alpha. Now, I need to replace white with alpha, but I can't find a magic wand in illustrator . Any help?

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
    I only knew the most fundamental differences between raster and vector: that raster images are saved in dots while vector images are saved in, at the simpliest, lines.
    Not "dots";  pixels. Pixels are simply color values. That's all. Raster programs arrange color values in a rectangular grid of same-size rectangles (usually squares).
    Not "lines"; paths. Paths are discrete individual objects. Paths are stacked, independently moved, freely arranged, scaled, filled, stroked, and otherwise manipulated as individual objects.
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
    But I'd have thought there was a way to quickly delete the white lines
    There is no "vector image" with a background. Where there are no objects, there is no "background." If a path is there, regardless of whether it has a white fill, a white stroke, or fill(s) and/or stroke(s) of any other color or no color at all, the path is there and can be deleted. (Again, there is no substitute for learning to use the program from the documentation.)
    Technically, paths are mathematically-defined curves. So even a "straight line" is a path, and is technically a curve. The specific kind of mathematically-defined curve used in programs like Illustrator is called a Bezier curve.
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
    I have no idea how hard it is to create a vector image from scratch.
    It's not rocket science. Anyone can learn it. But again, you have to learn it. There is no substitute for learning to use the program from the documentation.
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
    I myself am mostly a newbie in both hemispheres of the graphic design world.
    It shows. And there's certainly nothing wrong with that. We all started as beginners. I'm not trying to belittle you: I'm offering you sound advice that will serve as a very valuable shortcut to becoming more than a beginner (if you will accept it) without an unnecessary amount of fumbling around with bad practices.
    Just don't ever claim to a client or in a job interview to know anything at all about any mainstream general-purpose vector drawing program (of which Illustrator is just one) until you are proficient at drawing Bezier curves. That's prerequisite. It's lesson one in chapter one. Might as well start there. Start at the correct beginning and you'll know all the answers to the questions you have asked in this thread. Your understanding of "background" and things like why a region with no objects is not the same thing as an alpha channel in a raster image will come very early if you just start at the beginning. You've got to learn the lay of the land. Start at the beginning.
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
    In any case, I use a program called vectormagic that does the work for me pretty well, so you might want to check it out.
    Trust me; I'm familiar with it. It's just another autotrace program. I know what it does. I know how "well" it does it. Everything I said in the previous post stands.
    Vector drawing programs are not the kind of program you learn by just launching it and poking around. Not if you want to avoid endless confusion and frustration. Asking random questions in an online user forum (in which wrong "answers" are just as common as right answers) everytime you encounter a point of confusion is just as inefficient. Read the documentation.
