Let' discuss audigy 2 vista supp

Stormblade,
I have moved your post to this thread. I appreciate what you're saying, but I think it's time to put this to bed. The original poster (of the first thread) is free to start a thread if he wants to discuss the topic in a constructi've civil manner, but the second closed thread only relates to the first thread and the mods' decisions.
So if you or the other posters want to discuss complaints about products/drivers/whatever in another thread that is fine, but no more of these "that thread shouldn't have been closed" topic, that isn't up for discussion.
Hope that clears things up a bit.

I'm curious to hear what other people think regarding the fact that currently the Audigy series of cards are not supported an operating system that is available to a small group of consumers but will soon be available?
I'm very interested to hear if someone can come up with logical reasons for making beta drivers expire? Furthermore I am curious to hear what people have to say about the Creative devlopment team pushing driver realease dates time after time without providing it's customers (business, and personal) without reasons or explanations?
I am also curious to know what people think the reasons are for these delays?
Are they because Microsoft has changed the audio system in Windows so much that it is difficult to work with? What about the fact that they've had many many months to do this?
Do people here feel that it is acceptable that if they cannot get these drivers right they still disable our sound card's even limited abilities? What are peoples' opinions regarding the creative development team and management?
Just wanted to discuss and debate these topics in a polite and civilized manner.
Thank you Creative Forum Members for your opinions.
To the moderators. Where do you draw the line between appropriate discussion? What should happen if someone here bashes the company?

Ok, from the start
I'm curious to hear what other people think regarding the fact that currently the Audigy series of cards are not supported an operating system that is available to a small group of consumers but will soon be available?
Let's see. The Audigy series isn't on of the latest soundcard series from creative. So of course there's not the same need for creative to release working drivers in time, or at all.
I'm very interested to hear if someone can come up with logical reasons for making beta drivers expire? Furthermore I am curious to hear what people have to say about the Creative devlopment team pushing driver realease dates time after time without providing it's customers (business, and personal) without reasons or explanations?
Well i can't find any logical reason for letting drivers expire, but maybe they wanted to assure that people don't use betadriver by mistake when there are final drivers available. Only problem with this explaination is, that there aren't new drivers for the audigy 2...
I'm curious to hear what other people think regarding the fact that currently the Audigy series of cards are not supported an operating system that is available to a small group of consumers but will soon be available?
Yes, the beta-drivers aren't very good and now they expire. But since rc I never used the beta driver again, cause the newest XP driver was running just fine with nearly all features working in contrast to the beta drivers. Or you could use open source drivers like kxproject which run just fine under vista. Stormblade?

  • Audigy 4 - Vista drivers and software urgently nee

you know... i have this sound card (Audigy 4 - non pro) for over one year now, AND i don`t have a good driver and software for windows vista home premium x64. last driver for this sound card is:
. Creative Sound Blaster Audigy series Vista Driver 2.2.0002 (38.30 MB) 6 Mar 07.
    i mean... 6 mar. 07
how long do i have to wait for you, to relase all the software it is on windows xp oh, this audigy 4 was not intended to use with vista, wright and you want everybody to buy that x-fi sound card with another set of problems in windows vista. nice marketing solution. good for you ONLY.
i`m just tired waiting. my card doesn`t work as it should, nor as it worked in windows xp.
i need all that software. all of it, working under vista. PRONTO!
you will provide that software, or you just lost me as a customer, and along with me, alot more.
btw, daniel_k was only helping people, by providing drivers and software YOU couldn`t, or you just didn`t wanted to. stop deleting his posts or links to the drivers made by him.
just stop that abbusi've marketing strategy, by not releasing software for older sound cards, and forcing customers to buy your new products. no, that wouldn`t happend.

    Important :
Before installing, remove all traces of any previous drivers and all driver related software, using add/remove programs within the control panel and following that, by removing the driver within "Device Manager". To clean up any excess files left on your system, you should use a 3rd party program to do this job (unless you've a good understanding of the registry) A recommended program to do this is Driver Sweeper - which is freeware, and available from http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/ or paid version at hardwareheaven.com driver cleaner.net
To install the software suite and driver :
Providing you've followed the steps above, restart your computer and run Setup.exe. Follow through the prompts until the installation has completed.
Please used register cleaner like tune up Advanced SystemCare iobit.com or crapcleaner
Please make sure you installed lastest direct x included in the suite of June 200 if you haven't done so.

  • Creative Audigy 2 ZS platinum Vista Supp

    Guys
    i've a Audigy 2 ZS platinum
I bought a New Windows Vista Ultimate 32BIT
I try installing the drivers from the Driver CD its not supporting
I downloaded the vista drivers from web
and its the most lousiest driver pack i ever saw in my life
Is there any way to enable the full audio console(like THX,EAX,Graphic EQ and speaker settings) for Vista?
Why creative is not up to date with the market...
why no Vista support is available for creative.. weird...
    any brilliant ideas from anywhere?

Exactly how I feel. It borders on the absurd that 5 months after Vista release Nvidia has nothing but garbage drivers and applications for Audigy2.

  • Disgusted with windows vista supp

I have been a huge supporter of creative products since I can remember. I bought the 8 bit sound blaster, sound blaster 6(wave blaster). I have been beta testing windows vista since beta2. The sound has never worked with vista. The release client has been floating around for months. Why has creative not released some sort of fix so I can enjoy my dvd's, my cd's and my games on my new windows vista setup. I realise the driver setup is new, but you are supposed to have industry leading engineers working on this, and you have had months and months to get a driver out. Creative why is there such a delay. I am very frustrated and angry. My itunes sounds like garbage, WOW sounds absolutely terrible. It sounds like someone is scratching their nails down a chalk board. None of my games work. I would like to know when I will actually be able to use my audigy 2 zs in vista correctly. Thank you?

    I agree.
I'm having to use rubbish BETA drivers for my X-Fi. And my Creative webcam li've motion, a rather expensi've webcam too, apparently will not have drivers untill the end of this year?!
ALL my other hardware from other companies is working fine with drivers.

  • Audigy and vista build 5

    hello,
i have a Audigy sound card and using Vista build 5308.
i was wondering if there is any solution for the BSOD that appears when restarting/shutdown the pc. am i the only one with this error ? i realise these drivers were released for beta but still...
also, 5. sound is not working. after setting from control panel to 5. sound, only the front, center speakers and the subwoofer works.
when setting 5. speakers, wmp crashes too.
    thanks,
    OJi.

Hello Deadly,?Go and get ALchemy and install it. then go into the program folder (of ALchemy) and copy the dsound.dll and dsound.ini to your Executable folder. Which should be something like C:/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/(account name)/hl2.
Then modify the INI file and put the duratino to 5 and that should fix your problem.
Tried it on my CSS (not in game but rather the TEST YOUR SPEAKER button) and everything is back to normal after this.
    Hope this helps

  • Audigy SE + Vista Iss

I just bought a new Audigy SE because my old Li've and integrated sound weren't well supported in Vista. However, I'm still having issues.
Things seem to work okay on the desktop with the latest drivers, but I've tried playing Bioshock and Crysis and both have issues. Crysis stutters and pauses every few seconds, while Bioshock has a lot of crackles and pops.
Disabling the sound card fixes the stuttering in Crysis. Both games work fine in XP.
What gives? How can I fix this?

I only bought this motherboard due to the sound card on board, i got stereo but its crap as i cant get my optical to surround sound or coax, if i download new drivers the software from creative to configure doesnt work, will someone please fix this,? its unfortunate but vista is here to stay.

  • Audigy LS / Vista.. How to get music from surround speake

Does anyone know how I can get my music to play through all of my 5. speakers in windows vista? In XP i could use the creative CMSS stuff, but that doesnt work in xp..
    - MikeMessage Edited by thepunkerguy on 05-27-20070:33 PM

First step, uninstall any software that is made by creative labs. It usually slips back to 2 speaker mode, ruining the product. (or does on the cards I've seen)?Second step, download and install kxmixer. I can highly recommend kxdrv3538-full.exe. My Audigy 2 never sounded better. The program is horribly skinned and a little buggy, but nowhere near as bad as the Creative stuff. You should get full functionality back, aside from EAX and perhaps SPDIF. Make sure you read the instructions, as some settings may need to be changed. Hope this hel
    ps.

  • Let down by Creative Customer Supp

[size="2" face="Tahoma">My daughter received a Creative Zen Vision M which was purchased in November?and the screen went faulty with the colour dissapearing on the video. We called the customer support in Ireland and followed all the instructions and it was not corrected so they asked for?it to be returned. She did this and duly an e-mail was sent to say that it had been replaced and was being sent by Parceline. Parceline tried to deli'ver it today but no one was in so my brother in law collected it. The parcel was undamaged.[size="2" face="Tahoma">Now the real issue starts when I spoke to my daughter and asked if it was ok she was very upset and stated that the replacement player had quite a number of scratches and a small dent imperfection in the case. Now I can only presume that this is a refurbished product and my daughter was in tears on the phone to us. May I say that I am disgusted that Creative should treat there customers in this way and that a player that was approximately 2 weeks old and that she had saved up towards is replaced by a inferior product. The?[size="2" face="Tahoma">RMA No. is?6375438. Today I received an e-mail from?Andrew Killeen about a survey could anyone give me his e-mail so that I can discuss this issue with him.[size="2" face="Tahoma">May I say that the Customer Support team in Ireland were very helpful and polite when I spoke to them but they?and Creative have been totally let down by this treatment of customers and this has tarnished the name of Creative as far as I am concerned.?

I sent a copy of my post to Customer Services and received response as follows. My comments are shown in bold.
    Dear Richard,
I'm very sorry to hear this.
When it comes to our replacement procedures, we always recommend our customers to go back to the shop if a product fails or if they're for any reason unhappy with it within the first 30 days. This was not practical at the time and I did not believe that by returning it to Creative that you would receive inferior warranty terms to returning it ot the shop.?The faulty unit was sent to our depot in the U.K., and a replacement was shipped here from Dublin upon receipt. This means that we have not yet received your unit, we have not seen it, and we are therefore
unfortunately unable to guarantee that the replacement looks exactly the same. Surely Creative should at least give the customer the chance to have there unit inspected and repaired this means that you could send a unit back which may not even have a fault or a easily remedied fault and it is replaced with a far inferior product. Perhaps Creative should make customers aware that when they buy a new product if it goes faulty that it will be replaced by?a refurbished item therefore it may be as well to buy a refurbished product in the first place.
As long as the product is 2 weeks old she's as far as we're concerned absolutely entitled to a brand new unit. This does however depend on the store and their return policies.
As this is the technical support department, we can replace faulty units. We have no possibility of sending out new players, this is always done by the shop. The faulty unit is replaced with a refurbished one. This is also why we recommend going back to the store within the first 30 days. Why do Creative not stress this issue when you call them and be completely up front when calling them. In effect Creative are offering an inferior warranty as manufacturer to the shop that is selling it. At least Creative could make the customer aware of why the product is a refurbished one in the first place if a fault existed?what it was and what is actually the age of the second hand unit.
When all this is said you are NOT supposed to receive a unit with, and I quote, "quite a number of scratches and a small dent imperfection in the case". The unit might have been damaged in transit, or a mistake has?been done while packing the unit. The package arri'ved undamaged so how can scratches appear to an item whichis in a box and packaged it would appear that Creative need to tighten up on there checking procedure.
What we can do in this case is to collect the unit and ship a new replacement. To do this I would need the serial number of the unit you received from us. Surely this will not be a new one but another refurbished one.?I understand that you are very upset with the service we have provided, and this is something we take very seriously. I would therefore also ask you to get back to us with information on who you have been dealing with and how they have mistreated you. I dont believe that anywhere did I state that I was mistreated by any Creative employee in fact I complemented the PERSONNEL on the way they dealt with the problem.
The fact that you are "disgusted that Creative should treat there customers in this way" and that "this treatment of customers and this?has tarnished the name of Creative" is something we definitely need to
go further with. Creative stri'ves to provide the best possible customer support and we will not tolerate any of our customers to be treated in this way. This appears to be tolerated by Creative by the company policy in the first place.
Please get back to me as soon as possible, and I'll arrange for the collection and replacement of the unit you have received. I will also bring this matter to the attention of our management team. The management must be aware of this sort of matter as it is them that that are primary in making company policy in the first place.
Please accept our sincerest apologies once again for any inconvenience caused. I dont think that sincerest apologies are acceptable in such issues as this.
Please be aware that Creative have made one teenage customer very disenchanted with the company and the product after the complements that she has made concerning the staff that you employ. The only part that has not been answered as yet is Andrew Killeen's e-mail address and if anybody can make me aware of anyone high up in Creative that I can contact I would be most obliged.

i want to install the sound card software but how? please help me solve this problem

Try the above link, as this pack works really well for me and this card on a machine running Vista 32. The CD is absolutely useless.
This package worked great and has allowed a friend to play Left 4 Dead with absolutely no crashes or hangs that seem to be related to sound card issues.

  • When are Audigy 2 Vista drivers comi

What is the problem with Creative and Vista?
Why can't U make some proper drivers?
The driversupport Creative is giving to their users is dramatic! An X-Fi of Audigy 2 lost all its EAX features in Vista!!! Vista is out for a half year now, and I still have to work with BETA drivers which is giving weird positioning bugs in games!
    Whats the problem
I paid for the card so I really need some driver support!

  • Audigy 4 - Vista Installation Probs with Beta Driver...help

Another Vista horror story I'm afraid. Having completed a clean install of Vista basic I tried installing Audigy 4 drivers downloaded from Creative. The install failed and I had to reboot my machine. On trying to re-install I get an error message after the unpacking stage saying `you have previously installed drivers without re-booting...re-boot and try again'?Of course I've done that and the same situation repeats. There is nothing showing in the software uninstall component of control panel so I'm stuck in a loop. Can anyone help?TIA?

I see others mentioning the 8800 with their xfi, I have 768 version of 8800. I wish I could get these drivers in so I can get surround sound back..
