  • SRM 7.0 RFx: Supplier not able to reply to Header level questions

    Hi Gurus
I am currently working on SRM 7.0. I am facing a strange issue.
While creating an RFX I am able to create questions as both item level and header level and able to assign weights to the same.  I am also able to  see questions along with weights at the supplier's end however when I try to create bid it shows weights at header level questions as zero and the supplier response to the question is also not accepted.
For questions at item level it is just working fine.
Please suggest what could be wrong. waiting for your replies.
    Sohil

    Daniele,
it could be due to multiple purchasing org. assignment to the suppliers.

  • Very High-Level Question on Approach (PI ccBPM or CE7.1?)

    All -
I have a very high-level question. I am not current on what would be the appropriate tool for my scenario.
    My scenario...
Transitioning business to use new sales order system.
This will be a phased roll-out, not Big Bang.
Company ordering website needs to send orders to one of two systems (new and old).
Assume order has a flag or some other value that is an indicator to which backend application it should be sent.
Each recieving application has an order insert web service, which would be in PI 7.1's ESR.
What we "envision" is that there would be some kind of fronting web/enterpise service that would read the "flag", then pass the message to the appropriate web service (and on to the appropriate application).
But I really am not clear how to architect this, if any rules "engines" (ccBPM or in CE 7.1) would be  or should be used.
    You opinions are welcome...
    Thank you for your time...

    Hi Eric,
It would be more elegant , if you can classify this orders logically and provide two user interfaces one for each type.
But coming back to your question , if you are planning to implement the process in BPM , you could utilize the capabilities of BRM for this purpose . BRM comes with CE 7.1 and works in conjunction with BPM.
    [BRM Help|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/nw-rules-management]
Once you want a complete roll out , you can remove the BRM  decision making.Logically this would solve the purpose. ccBPM is not really positioned for this approach. It can be used when you need to interact with multiple systems using different protocols.
Caveat : The use of BPM will restrict your UI to WebDynpro Java (atleast for now). The whole process needs to be built around webservices or RFCs.

  • ASA 5505 Interface Security Level Question

I am wondering if someone can shed some light on this for me. I have a new ASA 5505 with a somewhat simple config. I want to set up a guest VLAN on it for a guest wireless connection.
I set up the ASA with the VLAN, made a trunk port, set up DHCP (on the ASA) on the guest VLAN, configured NAT, etc. Everything seem to be working with that. Guests are getting address on the correct subnet, etc.
The only issue I have is that the Guest VLAN (192.168.22.0) can get to the secure (VLAN1 - 172.16.0.0). I set up the guest VLAN (VLAN 5) with a security level of 10, the secure with a level of 100. I figured that would be enough. To stop the guest from accessing the secure, I had to throw on an ACL (access-list Guest-VLAN_access_in line 1 extended deny ip any 172.16.0.0 255.255.255.0)
Can someone  show me what I did wrong?
    Thank you for any help!
To create the VLAN, I did the following:
    int vlan5
    nameif Guest-VLAN
    security-level 10
    ip address 192.168.22.1 255.255.255.0
    no shutdown
    int Ethernet0/1
switchport trunk allowed vlan 1 5
    switchport trunk native vlan 1
    switchport mode trunk
    no shutdown
    below is the whole config.
Result of the command: "sho run"

    Hi,
To my understanding they should not be able to connect to the more secure network IF you DONT have an interface ACL configured.
One very important thing to notice and which I think is the most likely reason this happened is the fact that as soon as you attach an interface ACL to an interface then the "security-level" looses its meaning. The "security-level" has meaning as long as the interface is without an ACL. This makes the "security-level" only usable in very simple setups.
What I think happend is that you have "permit ip any any" ACL on the interface that allowed all the traffic.
Your option is to either remove the interface ACL completely or have the ACL configured like you have now. I mean first block traffic to your secure LAN and then allow all other traffic which would allow the traffic to Internet
    Hope this helps

  • Video levels question

    Hello,
As a new Premiere CS6 user I'm a bit confused about the way it handles video levels when compared to Sony Vegas.
In Sony Vegas I'm used to 16 RGB being video black (0 IRE) and 235 RGB being video white (100 IRE).  This is what I understand as studio levels which is the range most professional video cameras like my EX1 record in when properly exposed. During editing if I design a graphic either in Photoshop or Sony Vegas I input 16 RGB for pure black and 235 RGB for pure white.  This graphic will display between 0-100IRE on the waveform monitor.  I keep my entire color correction workflow within this range (16-235 RGB / 0-100 IRE) and the resulting videos look proper on youtube (since the youtube player stretches the video out to full RGB levels during playback) and DVDs since the player seems to also expect studio levels (16-235 RGB).
In Premiere however certain things appear to work differently.  Video seems to be handled in the same way as in Sony Vegas.  I came to this conclusion by comparing the same EX1 clip in both programs and it displayed identical on the waveform monitors. However when I create a graphic in Photoshop or using the Premiere titler or solid color I find that I must use 0 RGB to get 0 IRE and 255 RGB to get 100 IRE on the Premiere waveform monitor.
So my question is should I create a white graphic as 235,235,235 or 255,255,255?  Is Premiere actually converting my graphics to legal video levels automatically or is it just showing up falsely in the waveform monitor?  Are there any pitfalls I need to be aware during exporting to stay in the legal video range of 16-235 RGB?
Also will there be video level differences on output when using native YUV effects vs. RGB effects like Colorista and Looks?
    Many thanks,  Marc

Ok, I think I figured it out.  When I bring a full range (0-255) RGB photo or graphic into Premiere it maps the image to studio levels (16-235) automatically.  In Sony Vegas it does not so you end up with superwhites and superblacks and have to do it manually.  In Sony Vegas even the default video background (if you fade to black) is superblack so you have to put a solid color and set it to 16,16,16 RGB in order to stay within the studio Levels legal range.  You have to be really careful about levels or they will be illegal and cause problems downstream.
When I make a graphic in Premiere I no longer need to worry about the graphic being 16-235 (studio levels) as I do in Sony Vegas.  Premiere considers black as 0 RGB and white as 255 RGB.  On output everything will be studio levels.  I tested an upload of a H264 file exported from Premiere which had a white background of 235,235,235 and it was not full white on youtube.  If I do the same from Sony Vegas it would be fully white.
Hopefully this will help someone in the future who migrates over to Premiere from Vegas or vice versa.    I prefer the way Premiere handles things.

  • Permission Level Question (Use Client Integration Features)

    Hello All,
I just had a general question on one of the options for permission levels in sharepoint. There's one called "Use Client Integration Features":
Can anybody explain exactly what would be enabled if I enable this option? I know some basic things so far, such as if I enable this, the "Send To->E-mail a link" option would appear for users. However, I'm not exactly sure what else this would
be used for. Any help would  be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

  • Imovie6/itunes audio level question

i'm cutting a piece in imovie6. the audio attached to the video clip was recorded rather low, not too low, but a wee bit an the quiet side. i want to boost and level off the audio. on several boards the suggestion was to send the audio track via the imovie/ilife share menu to garageband where i could boost the audio level while adding a dose of compression to remove some of the now raised noise floor. i have tried this 2x and have not noticed/heard the difference (which should have been apparent). after garageband the path back to imovie6 is via itunes. in itunes i have been able to successful boost the audio via the get info box->options and raised the levels while also incorporating the "spoken word" setting in the equalizer.
the question is: are the itune "changes" on the audio track or only via itunes playback? in other words, if i burned the louder audio track to a cd would the itune "changes" be there? or will those "changes" only be present when i play the track thru itunes.
i hope my question is not too confusing.
thanks in advance to those who care to share.
    be well
    rob

I've not tried this and my system is busy, but...
Have you tried panning the first clip to center, then control-click on that clip, choose 'copy', then lasso the remaining clips, control-click, paste attributes?
Not sure it works for panning audio, so let us know.

  • High Level Question - Why create a tag?

We have been using a component architecture for about three years that seems to be very similar to the JSP component architecture. We have UI components (such as a listbox, entryfield, table, tree, etc) and an associated renderer. In our JSPs we directly call the renderer though to render the component (the component delegates to it's renderer).
    <%= pagebean.getEntryfield().render() %>
I still can't see the great benefit of hiding that in a tag, especially considering our developers and page designers are the same people, and they are very good at Java. I wanted to simplify the developer APIs as much as possible (avoiding XML, etc). That's why we've stuck with the above API versus using tags, not to mention debugging Java is much easier. I am really excited about JSF, hoping we can move to a standard API versus our propriatary one. What do you all think?

DaveInteresting question ... and I hope the answer is equally illuminating.
JavaServer Faces has many aims, but an important aim relevant to this question is broadening the attractiveness of the Java platform to page authors and others who are not Java developers, and would find the syntax of your scriptlet to be totally opaque and not understandable. Further, what you haven't shown is how you configure the characteristics of your component (probably <jsp:set-property> or scriptlet expressions or something?).
One of the mechanisms to improve this attractiveness will be to have high quality tools support for JavaServer Faces components -- not just the standard ones, but anyone's third party library. Picture the user who wants to use, say, a Calendar component, and your page author is using a GUI. What the user wants to be able to do is drag a Calendar off a template, drop it into their page, pop open a properties window, and configure all the detailed settings -- never seeing a line of code. The tag class (and the associated metadata in faces-config.xml) are what makes it possible for the tool to know what properties go in the property sheet.
In your environment, where the page author is also a Java developer, you still get a little benefit (configuring components through tag attributes is still more concise than <jsp:setProperty> or scriptlets). But there are many many many more page authors in the world who don't know Java, and don't want to know Java. JavaServer Faces is after those folks too.
    Craig McClanahan
PS: JavaServer Faces components can also be accessed at the Java API level, so you can use scriptlets to do so in your pages if you really want to.

  • Indie Film Audio Level Questions...

I posted this in Final Cut Pro Forum as well, but no answer yet...
Been doing a lot of reading, but still cannot find a clear answer to this question...
What should my average audio levels be set at for a Standard DV indie film headed for the festivals on DVD?
I've read about the difference in audio ranges for TV & Cinema, and I've read about the average being around -12db & no more than -3db...
As a reference, I put 3 professional movies in my DVD player, and my sound is a lot lower. I need to boost them, but where should my meter read at on average?
Should I be using the Sound Mixer only? Or the Normalizer as well?
Can anyone help me out, so that I can put this film in the bag?
    Thanks
    Frankie

    Hi Frankie:
I'm afraid your on a very slippery slope. First of all your comparing a home release of a DVD and comparing that with a movie. These are very different animals. The second question would be what are your comparisons and how are you making them. The speakers that you use for editing may not be useful for this job. Second of all you must calibrate your system so that you know what is what. Remember that -12 dB full scale digital is equivalent to 0+- within the analogue scale. You must calibrate your system so that you get a reading of -12dB at your outputs and 85dB when measured with a dB meter on fast and "B" weighted at the mixing position. You must do this using a 1k sine wave which is now calibrated in the room. Mark out this level using a dorrough meter. That will give you the proper level you are seeking. -3dB fsd is for peaks only. That is the loudest point at which your movie can fall. This is not for just dialogue. and -12dB fsd is the average of the soundtrack. The next question is what is the format of your deliverable? Film has it's own issues which are further complicated by each of the formats such as Dolby, Dolby digital, DTS, SSDS, etc. Remember that film is an optical medium unlike delivering on Tape or as files on a disk or HDD. In addition you may find that the festival should have restrictions and guidelines for audio levels as well as video levels and color standards if they don't they generally don't have their act together. I recently submitted to a film festival who's restrictions were incomplete and their guidelines ambiguous at best. Their guidelines were as follows. The deliverable must be as a DV tape accompanied by an AVI file. no audio levels, no video levels and a request that makes no sense. AVI file format or DV tape. These should never be the only required settings, and they seemed to be aimed at rank amateurs. DV tape is a very highly compressed format and in this day and age if your not shooting in HD you must be an amateur. What your acquisition format is should be irrelevant. EX Cam EXD Cam EX SR HDV P2 SxS, SDHC etc. are the formats you need to deal with to get the project into your editing system. Once you have completed your edit, color grading, and post audio including music you should then deal with a codec standard for deliverables. I can only say AVI isn't one! There are several Quicktime file types that should be acceptable depending on the audience and how big the screen will be. Mpeg 2 used in television or Mpeg 4 should be acceptable. Most if not all systems should be able to output these files but there are more. The audio should be in a standard format either aiff or wave for stereo but more complicated mixes such as surround mixes should use a compressed format such as Dolby or Dolby digital of the 5.1 or 7.1 variety. These are industry standards and folks who run these festivals should know this. If not perhaps they need to be replaced.

  • Leveling question: levels to end of previous task while time free

    Hi,
Guess this is one I don't know how to approach it in the correct way. This is where MS P is all about.
I have two tasks. Task one is a task in which I defined 4 hours a week over a period of 20 weeks for a total of 80 hours and assigned a resource. Task two is a task of 16 hours which can be done in one week. This week is also part of the 20 week span of
task one and has the same resource assigned to it, so MS P tells me this resource is overallocated.
When I have a look into the task usage, that makes perfect sense. Let's say task 1 and 2 both have the same start date. So at this first day task 1 is scheduled 4 hours and task 2 is scheduled 8 hours while working days are 8 hours. Now when I use leveling
based on priority, standard and check the options (leveling can adjust individual assignments and leveling can create splits in remaining work) MS P shifts task 2 to the end of task 1. While in every week this resource only has 4 hours work of task 1
assigned and is able to do task 2 as well. The task type doesn't make a difference, tried fixed work and fixed units (which in my eyes makes no sense). Can anyone help me out?

    Hi Jan,
Thanks again! Using the recurring task makes it at least a lot more neat.
I'm still stuck with one issue. I have a recurring task now every monday, lasting 4 hours/half the day with resource X assigned. When I plan a second task (it will start the same monday since it's the project start date) and assign resource X MS P tells
me that this resource is overallocated. The same applies here, resource X can't work 12 hours in a 8 hour work day. Both tasks are fixe work. Now when I use leveling (with split option checked), it do anything.
While typing this I checked this again with a completely new file and pool. There it does what I expect, levels task 2 to 4 hours on monday and 4 on tuesday. Seem to walk against this sort of bugs more and more. It seems like I have to do everything right
the first time, because after changing the task type it doesn't know how to handle it. I'm gonna try a bit more and will report back here.
Edit: Gues I found the reason, not what is causing it. In an attempt to solve the overallocation myself, I put the hours to the next day in task usage. When I wanted to delete the hours of the first day by selecting it and pressing delete, it deleted the
hours on the second day I just added instead. Seems like there is some sort of restriction for the task to start on that first day. I checked for that, but couldn't found anything besides the most obvious. The task was set to as soon as possible, no deadlines,
date in start field not manually set or whatsoever. I made a new task and deleted the initial one, no problems with that. If someone knows how this is possible, please let me know. Thanks in advance.
Edit 2: It has to do with priority settings. Still figuring out what it is exactly but I think it was due to all tasks were set to 1000 priority. :|

  • Authorization level question

    Hi,
Can anybody throw some light on to this.
1.Let us say I have provided a user with authorization level " 0/1". Can he delete 1.One line item 2.Entire shopping cart during the aproval process. With the deletion of one line item is the system is going to move forward with the current workflow. We might use Dynamic N-Step workflow.
2.Also we wanted to provide role based authorization levels( Employee-0, Manager-4), and here comes one more problem. If manager himself is creating the shopping cart, we want the system to treat  manager as with authorizationlevel-0 for that shopping cart. He cannot change the shopping cart that he has created. What wuld be the better check for this.
3.Ideal process "User should able to delete line items/entire shoping cart during the approval, but should not change the quantity/price/acc-assignments". Is this a standard process,if not how can we achieve this
    Thank you,

    Thank you Disha, and Yann.
Here I got three more doubt after looking at both posts:
1.Let us say I have created SC with single line item, deleting such a line item after the aproval is as good as deleting the shoping cart. What is the system behavior in this regard (if the line item to be deleted is last line item in the shopping cart).
    2. Is the authorization level will only effective during the approval and not after the approval?.
    3. If a PO is already sent to Vendor( Goods are shipped) and  and now the user deletes the line items( Before confirmation). What would be the business process in this regard.
    Thank you,
    Manyam

  • Output levels question

When I am recording a vocal track the levels meter is well under clipping, but still quite strong; however, upon playback, it barely shows action in the meter. But, the Output 1-2 levels (which is combining all my vocal and insturment tracks) shows clipping about +6.0. If I mute the vocal track the Output 1-2 is back under clipping range.
What do I need to look for?

every time you had a track the summing amplifier will
    increase in dbs.
Is it best to keep the Output at 0db and lower the volume of the tracks (and/or using other adjustments)?
check for compressors or eq in the chain
Yeah, I need to do this. I haven't done a complete mix for the tracks yet. I just added some reverb via Bus 1 so the vocals wouldn't sound so dry/flat on playback.
select all your other tracks , shift and click on the
other tracks to drop them down simultaneously
Do you do this in the Arrange window or the Mixer window? I tried it in the Mixer window with three of the tracks. Two of them worked and the third jumped to a totally different level, so I went back to adjusting them individually. And, after selecting them do I move the slider for one and the others follow?

  • MultiCube over IP Aggregation Level Question

Hi, I have a MultiProvider over an IP Aggregation Level and a Real InfoCube.  This was all handed down to me from previous development.  The Aggregatation Level  has the same level of detail as the planning infocube it is based on.
Is there any reason for the MultiProvider to be over the Aggregation Level instead of the actual planning infocube?
I guess I'm reading that a multiprovider over an aggregation level is for planning only and not reporting?  If this is true then do I need a multicube for planning and a separate multicube for reporting using the actual planning infocube?
Thanks for any clarity you can offer...

Wouldn't this modeling work as well for planning?  I mean while they are planning values they might want to see actual values as well to help in decision making?
    Thanks!

  • SNP - Capacity Leveling question

    Hi All:
I am trying to do Capacity leveling in one resource and for one material.
After CIFing the material, resource, location and BOM (PDS), I entered some forecast for the specific material in DP and released it to SNP.
Then I ran the product heuristics and when I looked at the planning book 9ASNP94 and Data View SNP94 I noticed that the capacity utilization where more than 100 % in some periods.
Next I executed the 'Capacity leveling button'. and entered the following parameters and executed.
    Combined Scheduling
    100 % max util
    Product priority
    Ascending
    Heuristics Method
    All Relevant Resources
In the Log checked all the three options
The log comes out as follows:
Green status on Resource and Parameters
Yellow status and 'Resource xxxx not used in any PPM/PDS'
    Red status Resource utilization
I checked the PDS for the resource xxxx and i found it to be there.
When I go back to the Capacity view the leveling has not happened.
What am I doing wrong?  Pl. help.
    Thanks
    Narayanan

    Hi Narayanan,
I think there should be any issue. I hope You selected the data view snp94(2), and loaded your resource in the planning book.  then You executed the 'Capacity leveling button' in the planning Book, Right? Try without checking the 'consider alternative resource' check box, and dont give any priority in your capacity levelling profile.
    Thanks,
    Satyajit

  • Capacity Leveling Question, Retaining original dates

    Dear colleagues,
We are using standard dispatch functions in CM22.   Here is a quick depiction of the problem.
    Steps
    1. Production order dispatched to a future date
    2. Order is deallocated
    3. System seems to retain the dispatch date of the production order and does not revert to the original date after deallocation
I realize that there may be settings that can help in retaining the original dates of the production order prior to the dispatch.
Have any of you set up the system to retain the old dates? Please advise.
    Thanks,

    Hello Pravan,
    I have production order with basic/scheduled start/finished date= today's date.
    1) I have made leveling. Scheduled finished date is changed to today's date+ X days.
    2) I have made deallocation. Scheduled finished date is back to date as before dispatching: today's date.
I'm not sure what settings controls that, but if you will send yours, i will compare it with mine as will send you a difference if any.
    Best Regards,
    Andrey

  • Drill down group level question

    Post Author: Ksecrist
    CA Forum: Charts and Graphs
    Hello,
I am relatively new at using Crystal but have self taught on how to use the drill down feature with charts.  my problem is that I don't understand the drilldowngrouplevel = <>1 or =0 or <2 values.  Are there set #'s for the drilldowngrouplevels?  could someone assist in this?
    Thanks,
    Kevin

I'm sure you have this figured out but just in case... In the Formula Editor>Functions>Print State-->DrillDownGroupLevel. Create a formula (Test?) using the DrillDownGroupLevel function. If you place this test formula in your report and drill down you can tell which level of drill down you are at. If you wanted to suppress something at a certain level you could suppress by DrillDownGroupLevel = 3.
