Level permission only for edit uploaded documents
Hi guys,
I have this requiriment, in my document set I need that spcecified users are allowed only to edit uploaded document (for example editing using word if is a docx type) but not other fields in SharePoint........ is it possible?

This is not possible using OOTB functionality. If you have edit permission to a file/list item, you have access to modify all of the information.
There are a few third party options that provide column/field-level permissioning in SharePoint. You could also program your own rules into an Event Receiver.

Dear Gurus
I want purchase orders should be raised with reference to purchase requisitions only. System should allow to make purchase orders with reference to purchase requisitions only for a particular document type only.
I have configured in OMET and assigend this in SU3, now the system is not allowing to create PO for all document types, but I want to restrict this for a particular document type only
Is there any configu change required?

You can make it in MM - purchasing -> purchase orders -> define document types -> check the document type -> click on link purchase requisitions.
And in define screen layout at document level - make PR mandatory for your purchase order document type (field reference).

After the notes 1422722 & 1465106 is a service method available, which allow the customer to dis-able the evaluation.

You can put a codes in some BADI method, which is called during save. Within the Badi-Implementation, call the SET_ACTIVE method, so that the evaluation not be tiggered (until the project get released.)

PR mandatory only for few PO document types

Issue being faced in a support project.
A buyer is authorised to create 5 different PO doc types. Requirement is to make for only 2 PO document types PR is mandatory. Need immeidate inputs. Any suggestion without implementing user exists is highly appreciated.

GMThe field can not be made a required entry in ME21N. However you
can use "Function Authorizations" (OMET) to restrict the user to only
order with reference to a purchase requisition.
As both the "agreement field" and "purchase requisition" fields are
reference fields they are populated when created in reference and thus
the system would not accept attempting to make them a mandatory field.
Please use the OMET transaction and the PID EFB to accomplish your
desired functionality.
I have also attached note : 664424 'Requisition number not mandatory in
ME21N' which contains further information regarding this functionality.

Users are able to view only their own uploaded documents in Document Library
Permissions for all are "Contribute" but still few are not able to see all documents - docs uploaded by other users. Is there a setting that is preventing them?

One more thing you need to check about library is versioning. Go to doc lib settings-->versioning settings-->check content approval and document version history settings. They should be turn off.

If this is happening for few users then have you tried to use different browser and different machine. Just try to use different browser and machine with same user login and see the result.

Change the ClassName attribute for an uploaded document
Hi all,
Whenever i upload a new document to IFS and check its attributes, i find that the ClassName attribute is always set to "DOCUMENT".
I have created a new ClassObject under "PUBLICOBJECT" called NEWCLASSOBJECT. Now the issue is how do i set this when i upload a new file into IFS. I'm using the web interface provided by IFS to upload files. I want to be able to do a search on documents based on the new attributes that i have defined in "NEWCLASSOBJECT"
Any help or pionters to any documentation regarding setting the custom attributes would be greatly appreciated.

RaghuI believe you would have to create an XML file defining that custom iFS object type, but I'm not sure how to set the content/bytes of the document using just the XML file.
Otherwise, you can use the Java API (e.g. LibrarySession.createPublicObject() with a custom DocumentDefinition) to insert the file. -
I use PDF's in event planning and I was wondering what app is best to use to draw schematics over the PDF document and be able to email it out to all participants in the meeting at the conclusion.
There are a number of PDF apps which allow annotations, including drawing. I have iAnnotate PDF which has a very robust set of editing, annotating and drawing tools, and Expert PDF, which has a simpler interface. Both allow emailing PDFs.

You can try trashing the preferences in your user library -> preferences (Mac) or Application Support folder (Windows). If that does not work though you may need to re-install the application.

Follow the below procedure for editing your document after signing it:
1. Open the File in Acrobat
2. Right Click on the signature field and choose 'Clear Signature'
3. Go to tools pane on the right side of the window then choose 'Edit' Under Forms Drop Down Menu.
4. Right Click on the signature field and choose delete.
5. Click 'Close Form editing' and then you can make necessary changes and resign your pdf (If you want to).

You would need to save the file to your desktop and upload it from there for conversion using your ExportPDF subscription.

thanksTake a look at the user policy settings for the web application. I suspect someone has added a User Policy that covers the user which denies all these permissions. The User Policy at the web app level is the only place where you can deny permissions.
But that setting applies to every site collection in the web application and takes precedence over every other setting.

In last version of Pages, I would make a proposal to a customer and then go to 'share' and then choose 'PDF' from the drop down. Next screen allowed me to choose the option of password protecting the document from being edited. This new version of Pages only seems to allow setting a password for opening the document. I do not need to password protect the document from being opened, just edited. Any help for this new problem? Apple always seems to remove features that are so helpful and useful when they 'upgrade' apps., very frustrating!
Apple has removed over 90 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs.

Pages '09 should still be in your Applications/iWork folder.
Archive/trash Pages 5, after Exporting your files to Pages '09, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.
