Library Conflict?

When I import a photo and have unclicked Copy items to the iPhoto Library.
Would I get "The photo “Eagle.jpg” could not be opened, because the original item cannot be found"

If you
have unclicked Copy items to the iPhoto Library.
then the file is not in the iPhoto Package File, and iPhoto is looking for it.
When you uncheck that option in the iPhoto preferences, then you are taking responsibility for the management of the files.
So, your workflow becomes something like:
1. Copy the photos from your camera to your own folder organisation
2. Import the pics to iPhoto
Now iPhoto will not copy the files, but rather simply reference them on your HD. To do this it will create an alias in the Originals Folder that points to your file. It will still create a thumbnail and, if you modify the pics, a Modified version within the iPhoto Library Folder.
However, you need to be aware of a number of potential pitfalls using this system.
1. Import and deleting pics are more complex procedures
2. You cannot move or rename the files on your system or iPhoto will lose track of them on systems prior to 10.5 and iPhoto 08. Even with the later versions issues can still arise if you move the referenced files to new volumes or between volumes.
3. Most importantly, migrating to a new disk or computer can be much more complex.
Always allowing for personal preference, I've yet to see a good reason to run iPhoto in referenced mode unless you're using two photo organisers.
So, as you are responsible for the File Management, where did you put the Photo?

    Just completely uninstalled everything and tried again. The problem seems to have disappeared.
    I can't be sure, but suspect one of the following fixed it:
    - I had JDeveloper 11.1.1.2.0 installed to the same Oracle Middleware home. This could have been where the conflicting library was coming from. Second time around I didn't install JDeveloper.
    - When I reinstalled WebLogic, I unchecked 'Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse'
    - When I reinstalled WebLogic, I didn't install the Oracle JRockit JDK

  • Resolve Library Conflict

    Is there a Boolean or function to set "resolve library conflict" to automatically replace? I've searched addItem and Paste, but I'm still given the prompt
    [ discussion moved to Flash Pro General Forum ]

    What you're describing would happen if you are dragging from
    the library of one Flash document to the stage of another Flash
    document. The library can only have one copy of a symbol with a
    given name. Make sure that you've clicked on the stage of the one
    you want to drag to, in order to see its library.
    It's a good idea to always name symbols you make, rather than
    leaving it at the default "Symbol 1", etc. If you don't change the
    name you would be more likely to run into this problem.

  • ColorPicker and ComboBox library conflict

    I need to use both components in an AS3 project, where components are created dynamically via script, but as I understand I need to put the components into the library anyway. First I add ColorPicker, then when I add ComboBox, I get a library conflict.
    If I choose to replace items, and comlipe the project the ComboBox works but ColorPicker starts producing errors, if I choose to use the existing items, the ComboBox produces errors when I click on it.
    Does anyone know how to make them work together?
    RESOLVED: The conflict was caused by a library movieClip that didn't belong to ColorPicker or ComboBox movieClips but had a matching name

    Well I was informed on another forum that I can not jar other jar files in my jar file (this sentence had to much 'jar' in it!). Or at least the class loader will not go search for the required libraries there.
    (the other forum is about ANT, so I did not cross post the same question ;)
    Basically I am working on a web application that can convert data into PDF using the Apache FOP library. Now I require to add the functionality to convert the data into RTF as well. The new beta version of Apache FOP can do this, but for some weird reason when deployed on JBoss it is not converting my data to PDF. (the current Apache FOP version is still in beta 0.92beta).
    Now therefore I decided to provide a temporary solution. That is use the old library when I need a PDF file, and use the new library when I need to RTF file. Then when a more stable FOP comes out I try to combine the two.
    (additional information on FOP: FOP has passed from a complete transformation from the last version to this one, therefore at a certain stage I will drop the old code and start working on the new one).
    Basically that is my problem in detail. I am trying to come out with solutions, and I do not want to believe it is a deadlock!

  • Shared Library Conflicts/HotSync/Palm

    I have had trouble opening Hot Sync Manager to sync w/Bluetooth.
    Keep getting ERROR Message:
    The application "HotSync Manager" could not be launched because of a shared library error: "O<HotSync Manager><HotSync Manager><HotSyncLib.PPC><SetConfigureConduitCallBack>
    Could Apple users please help me find these extensions so I can delete them and start clean.
    Wish Error Messages would tell me where the heck these conflicting files are??
    Thx all

    You are seeing a variant of the single most frequently encountered error condition of the Palm Desktop software package under OS X. It is usually a result of the choice to install or upgrade system software using the archive and install option.
    Whatever you do, do not arbitrarily delete rename, or move any Palm-related files or folders, as you will only aggravate the situation! Manually manipulating either the Palm software [including the HotSync Manager or the Transport Monitor] or iSync and the iSync Palm Conduit is not something you should attempt unless you understand how they operate, and are very familiar with the consequences of doing so.
    There are a number of ways to address it, though the easiest is probably by following this set of instructions from Palm:
    Macintosh 0S X 10.x: HotSync Manager could not be launched because of a shared library error
    The Mac OS X installer includes an "Archive and Install" option. When you upgrade your Mac OS to a newer version of OS X, and select the "Archive and Install" option from the installer's "Select a Destination: Options" panel, you may receive the following error upon restart or attempting to launch HotSync Manager:
    "The application "HotSync Manager" could not be launched because of a shared library error: "4"
    Explanation: The Archive and Install option in the Mac OS X installer does not copy these files from the archived System and Library folders to the new OS installation. HotSync Manager requires these files to run properly.
    Workaround: You must re-install Palm Desktop from the CD included with your handheld. After installing Palm Desktop from your CD you can install the latest web download from: http://www.palm.com/us/support/downloads
    NOTE: That file is directly accessible here:
    http://www.palm.com/us/support/macintosh/macdesk421revd.html
    (Important Note: Be sure to install from your CD first as the web version does not include all the software included on your CD)

  • Libsslport library conflict when using components built with studio 11 & 12

    I have a library built with Studio 11 that links with libstlport.so in studio 11. I then build an application with studio 12 which links with studio 12 stilport.so. When I do an ldd on the application it reports that it depends on stlport.so from both studio 11 and 12. This happens even if I set LD_LIBRARY_PATH to explicitly point to the Studio 12 lib directory.
    On running the application it consistently crashes at exit with the following stack trace:
    std::locale::~locale()
    _exit()
    exit()
    The problem is resolved if we build everything with Studio 11.
    It should be possible to link with components build with older version of the compiler. Can someone tell us what is the right way to do this.
    Thanks.
    Shirish.

    Setting LD_LIBRARY_PATH is useful for testing and for one-off programs used only by yourself, but it is not a sustainable or scalable solution. For more on this topic:
    http://blogs.sun.com/rie/entry/tt_ld_library_path_tt
    When you build applications using shared libraries, you usually need to set the runpath (-R option).
    By default, the CC command sets the runpath to point into the compiler installation area. If parts of the application are build with different compilers, you can by deafult wind up with runpaths pointing into each compiler area, which can lead to linking two versions of a library, a recipe for disaster.
    The best way to solve this problem depends on how you will use and deploy the application. I'll suggest a general solution, which works even if you deploy the application to remote systems used by others.
    Create a runtime environment for the application, perhaps a directory tree like this:
    myapp/
        bin/
        lib/
        doc/Main programs go in the bin directory. Shared libraries go in the lib directory.
    Build shared libraries and executable programs with a relative runpath pointing into the lib directory:
    CC ... -R \$ORIGIN/../libIf you build an application entirely with Studio 11, copy the studio 11 version of libstlport.so into the lib directory.
    If multiple compilers are used, copy libstlport.so from the most recent compiler into the lib directory.

  • Loading from library conflicts with loading external swf

    I'm very new to ActionScript, so this might be incredibly basic. However, I've Googled and read myself into a coma and I'm not finding a solution.
    I have a movie with 6 navigation buttons.  Four of them load external .swf slideshows, and they work fine - as each file loads, the previous one clears the stage, etc.  The other button that I currently have set up is loading, from the library, an image.  The problem I'm having is that the slideshows replace each other on the stage - they're not stacking, they're replacing - but when the user selects the button that loads the image, the image overlays the last-selected slideshow.  If the user selects the image first, the image is visible when two of the external files transition.  Because of that 6th button, which is not yet even started, it's not desirable to me to simply set up the single image as another external file; if it's at all possible, I need to be able to pull from a library file when I build that last button.
    What I'd like to do - because there is no logical order that the buttons should be selected in - is figure out how to tell every button to remove the image file on click.  I've tried using this in the four buttons that link to the slideshows, to deal with the image (that's the one called quoteImage):
         if(myLoader != null && contains(quoteImage)){
            myLoader.removeChild(quoteImage);
    which has the advantage of not giving me any errors, but doesn't actually fix my problem.  I've tried many, many other things, and I'm just really stumped on what exactly I need to do to make this work the way I want it to.  Based on the fact that the books and online resources I've been using don't really cover this specific example, I suspect it might be an incredibly idiot thing to do, but I'd really like it to work this way if that's possible.
    The code as it stands, with the global variables and the first two buttons (the next three are identical to the second button and the sixth button doesn't exist) looks like this:
    var myLoader:Loader=new Loader();
    var quoteImage:Bitmap;
    stop();
    // Loads quoteImage from library
    btnQuotes.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, showquote);
    function showquote(event:MouseEvent):void {
    var myBitmapDataObject:myBitmapData = new myBitmapData(500, 350);
    var quoteImage:Bitmap = new Bitmap(myBitmapDataObject);
    quoteImage.x=150;
    quoteImage.y=180;
    addChild(quoteImage);
    // Loads industrial.swf from external file
    btnIndustrial.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, showindustrialcontent);
    function showindustrialcontent(event:MouseEvent):void {
    var myURL:URLRequest=new URLRequest("industrial.swf");
    myLoader.x=150;
    myLoader.y=180;
    myLoader.load(myURL);
    addChild(myLoader);
    Help is very much appreciated.

    I see now how to import and display a library class object
    using:
    var MovieClipClass:Class =
    Class(loader.contentLoaderInfo.applicationDomain.getDefinition("myLibraryAsset"))
    var movieClip:Sprite = new MovieClipClass();
    addChild(movieClip)
    But this seems to only work for SWF's published for AS3 Flash
    Player 9.
    I need to do the same for SWF's published with AS2 Flash
    Player 7.
    Any ideas?

  • Compiling problem related to library conflict

    Hi everybody,
    As I used JDeveloper 10.1.3.0.3 to compile my program, I encounted a compiling problem.
    In my user library, I have a class named Number.
    In J2SE 1.5, there is also a class named Number at java.lang.Number.
    So as I compiled the program, the compiler always tried to find the java.lang.Number first, then I got the compiling errors related to the class java.lang.Number.
    I have added the jar file of my own package in the classpath, but I still got the compiling error.
    But If I directly use JDK instead of JDeveloper to compiler the program, there is no such kind of problem.
    Can somebody help me with that.
    I really apprecaite your help.
    William

    Looks like I've been dumbed down by Java simpliciy. I'm referencing some source code that calls a function from this particular library. When I am compiling my code that makes the same call, I assume I need that library to be called out for the linker (link.exe). Do I also need any other libraries that this library calls and so on? How do I determine that the extent of what I need. The source code I'm referncing does include a make file. This was to create and exe file. Is it possible that I can edit this and have it make a dll instead?

  • ITunes library conflict: How delete Macbook library

    Hi
    On my Macbook I have an identical copy of the library I have on my Mac Pro. I did this so that I could bring my music on a long trip I undertook.
    Now that I am back home I wish to have only the library on the Mac Pro, which I will stream to the Macbook on my home network using Home Sharing.
    The reason I wish to do this is that Remote.app on my iPhone appears to be unable to connect to two identical libraries on my computers (it keeps asking me to authenticate). Plus there really is no need to have a copy on the Macbook given that I can stream.
    So how can I delete all traces on the Macbook of the library copy (as opposed to just marking all songs and then deleting them)?
    Thanks very much
    /p

    Why not just take your copy of the iTunes folder from your old computer's backup and move it to the new computer?

  • Vi library conflict

    I have Main.vi and Main.llb (contains some subVIs that have same name as those in labview library) in the same directory. When Main.vi runs labview loads subVIs from labview library instead of from local Main.llb.  what should be done to have labview loads from main.llb?

    Dennis' suggestion of writing a utility that will open the files in question and rename and save them is probably your best bet, otherwise the brute force method of opening renaming and saving seems the only really viable method that doesn't run the risk of having this or similar problems in the future. If you change the search path for the directories it only solves the problem at this moment, then you may run into issues in the future where you open something that expects to use the actual vi.lib files and instead is loading from your directories. This name space collision problem is somewhat handled in LabVIEW projects, introduced in 8.x, but probably won't help in this situation.

    How can I resolve this problem? Do I need to config the OC4J server?
    Thanks.

    I am a little new to library management in this environment. I am also doing CDB Development and since the libraries are different from what is bundled with JDeveloper 10.1.3.x, I am curious, how did you end up dealing with the library conflicts in a production environment?
    Also, I was under the impression that libraries defined in the application and included in the deploy (ear file) would take presidence over the "global" libraries. Is this not correct?
    Thanks in advance,
    Steve

  • Error while trying to retrieve text for error ORA-12154

    Hello,
    I try to install php 5.1.2 on a WIN2003 server and IIS6 with the OCi8 extension without success from several days.
    On my server I've a 920 oracle client and the 10.1 instant client, I copy the tnsnames.ora in the instant client's directory.
    I've declare many environnement variables :
    - NLS_LANG : AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252
    - TNS_ADMIN : E:\...\oracle\instantclient_10_1
    - ORA_NLS33 : E:\..\oracle\920\ocommon\nls\ADMIN\DATA
    With the php command line the oci_connect function correctly works : the php command line use the instant client's tnsnames.ora. I can query with success my database.
    When I try to load a web php script (the same as the php command line script) I have the following error " Error while trying to retrieve text for error ORA-12154" ( oci_connect( $user , $pass, $sid ) . The $sid variable have the value of an alias declared in the tnsnames.ora.
    If I replace the sid's alias by something like this " (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=xx.xx.xx.xx)(PORT=1521)))(CONNECT_DATA=(SID=xx)" in the oci_connect function, I have another error : Error while trying to retrieve text for error ORA-12705.
    A web page with the phpinfo function displays the following messages about oci8 extension : It seems to be correct.
    oci8
    OCI8 Support enabled
    Revision $Revision: 1.269.2.8 $
    Active Persistent Connections 0
    Active Connections 0
    Temporary Lob support enabled
    Collections support enabled
    Do you have any idea ? Thanks a lot

    The web server is not seeing the Oracle environment correctly. You need to set PATH to the instant client libraries. ORA_NLS33 is not used for Oracle 10g clients. Perhaps you have some library conflict with two versions of Oracle on the machine?
