virt-manager v1.2.1
libvirtd v1.2.16
I tested firewall: iptables && ip6tables work well while.
when I start a virtual network named 'default' (created by libvirt), it occur that:

thanks for any reply

I had the same problem, but with vagrant and the libvirt provider. I fixed it temporarily by re-building libvirt with a patch that removes the code that throws that error. It looks like in an attempt to fix this bug they went overboard checking if a valid firewall backend was loaded. I commented out that section and everything seems to work fine. Obviously this is not a permanent fix, but I don't know enough about libvirt's codebase to fix it properly. Anyways here is the patch:

  • Could not create shortcut Manage Virtual Networks.lnk during VM Server 2 install. Why?

I am trying to install VMware Server 2.0.2 on my HP Laptop running Windows 8 Pro as Host. But I am getting the following warning messages but the install continues to completion:
    Warning Msg:

Warning 1909. Could not create shortcut Server Home Page.lnk.         Verify that the destination folder exist and that you can access it.
After installation, I am not able to login to the VM Server. When I click on the VMware Sever login icon, the error that I am getting states: okonita1:8333 -

Sorry, the page you were looking for could not be found.
I am at a loss how to correct this error. I have googled, read and followed a lot of the online help that I can find including taking ownership of suspect target folders such as ProgramData, all to no avail.
At this point, I am hoping someone does know what specifically can help resolve my issue and I am asking for help. VMware knowledge base or support are not helpful.
    Thanks all,

Did you run the VMServer setup *as Administrator*?
Did you have IIS installed on your system before you installed VMServer?

  • Can't create new virtual machine with Virt-manager

After going through the whole setup, I would get this error through backtrace:

Hence, I attempted to follow https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Bridge_with_netctl to set up my network bridge and try again, and I'd still get the same error.
I also tried to do sudo virt-manager but I'd get:

  • Local/Virtual Networks Overlapping

Referencing Azure's FAQ documentation, it states local networks (on-prem) and virtual networks (Azure) cannot overlap. Does that indicate NetCFG will become corrupt if I include 10.0.0.0/8 in the local networks address space with an existing subnet
in that range configured within the joining Virtual Network (Azure)? With some forethought, I want to think of Azure an extension of my internal network and control connectivity using firewall rules instead of maintaining "routing rules" in
    Azure.

    Hi,
    As the document said,
overlapping address spaces will cause the NETCFG upload or creating virtual network to fail
The azure virtual network configuraion include element AddressPrefix (LocalNetworkSite), it specifies the address space that is used for the local network site. This is the address space of the on-premises network. The IP address ranges that you specify
must not overlap with the IP address ranges of any other local network sites or virtual network sites.
So i think we need to avoid the ip address overlap.
    Regards.

  • Cannot install patches via Connection Manager or Update Manager

I tried installing 137 outstanding updates via Update Manager, but they all failed complaining about digital signatures not being verified.
Then i tried using the online "Connection Manager". I managed to queue the 137 jobs no problem, but then they have been stuck in a pending state all day. Is there something else I'm supposed to do?
Is there any way I can just download a patch cluster like I used on all the previous versions of Solaris... it would be so much simpler. :-)

  • Virt-manager (libvirt) set up bridged network

I have googled and searched and can't find instructions on setting up a bridged network for use with virt-manager.  The instructions at
    https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/KV … Networking
don't really seem to apply to starting vm's with virt-manager.  Does anyone have experience setting up a bridged network with libvirt on arch?

In case anyone stumbles upon this in the future (as I have done):
Setting this up with virt-manager is pretty simple.
First, you need to create a bridge. You can do this manually or use most of the network management tools for this. I used systemd-networkd (just ignore the stuff about the container). You could also use netctl ore others.
After you created the bridge and added your default network device to it, open the network device of you vm (or create one if there is none) and switch the "Network source" to the bridge you just created. And with that you should be fine.
PS: I just saw that virt-manager seems to be capable of creating bridges by itself, right-click you hypervisor, go to "Details", "Network Interfaces" and create a new bridge.

  • 0xc000025 - Trying Recovery System via Recovery Manager: Windows failed to start.

    Name: Pavilion dv4-2161nr
    Prod. Number: WA691UA#ABA
    Windows 7  64-bit
I splitted original Hard Disk Partition in three partitions.  I formatted those two not containing O.S.  Now I want to format the partition containing the O.S.
      1)  If I choose "Recovery System", will it format all three partitions?  Or will it format the partition I choose to?
      2)  I tryed "Recovery System", but it failed.  What can I do?
2.1)  I made Recovery DVDs when first used the PC.  It loads but it never runs.  It's like theres no AutoRun, and there's no ".exe" to execute when I open the first DVD Recovery via Windows Explorer.  What am I missing?
2.2)  I tryed Recovery System via Recovery Manager.  System shuts down and starts reiniciating but it gives the following message "Windows Boot Manger: Windows failed to start.  A recent hardware of software change might be the problem.  Status: 0xc000025.  The boot selection failed because a required device is inacessible".  What can I do?
         Regards,
         Rafael.

I tested the Hard Drive and it passed 100% ok.
I tested the Memory and it passed 100% ok.
My PC runs a Win 7 Home Premium.
I've just run a Win 7 Ultimate CD Installation.  It formatted the System Partition, but I couldn't get Win 7 installed because when I filled in my Product Key it said the Product Key wasn't right.  Is it because Product Key for Win 7 Home Premium wouldn't work on a Win 7 Ultimate installation?
I hoped the Hard Drive would be ok after it had been formatted while I tryed Win 7 Ultimate installation.  So I tryed once again to boot with HP Recovery Disc.  It stopped at 23% once again.  Until 23% there are all noises that get me thinking PC is running ok.  When it get up to 23% all noises just stop.
    Any ideias?
    And thanks once again.
    Rafael.

  • [SOLVED] Cannot start Virtual Network: "out of memory"

I am attempting to use KVM, Qemu and libvirt to run Windows VM's to test websites in IE. I have gotten everything to work fine except guest to host communication, which obviously is crucial for testing the websites.
Currently i am using macvtap to setup networking, which works beautifully for everything except host to guest networking. The easiest way seems to be to use isolated virtual networks. However, i cannot start any virtual networks. I have tried from inside virtual manager and inside virsh command prompt. I always get "out of memory". I have googled the error and nobody seems to have this problem.
One note, I do NOT have a swap drive. Is this needed for virtual networks?
    EDIT:
I have now tried exactly the same on another, identical computer but with swap drive (16gb) and it did not work there either. Both computers have 8gb ram. Seems to be loads free in tops.

I have the same issue on my install. I got so desperate that I actually wiped my laptop and reinstalled everything, same problem. Out of memory error when trying to create the default network. 16GB of RAM, with 96% of it free when I attempted.

Maybe the command line shows some errors.Try something like
/usr/bin/kvm -M pc -monitor pty -boot d -hda /dev/vg01/opsi -cdrom /root/debian-500-i386-netinst.iso -net nic,macaddr=00:16:3e:49:da:10,vlan=0 -net tap,script=,vlan=0,ifname=vnet0 -serial pty -parallel none -usb -vnc :0
-hda is where you want to install the machine. Here it's a logical volume, but you can also use an image.
    -cdrom is the installation medium
you can probably omit -vnc :0. I used it because I install machines on servers without gui.

  • [SOLVED]Modem-manager won't start with Network manager

    Hi,
I have a problem with getting modem-manager work under gnome. After first Arch install to this laptop, Network manager didn't show my 3G-modem, so I installed modem-manager and usb_modeswitch. Apr 14 16:02:14 localhost dbus[651]: [system] Activating service name='org.freedesktop.ModemManager' (using servicehelper)
Apr 14 16:02:14 localhost dbus[651]: [system] Successfully activated service 'org.freedesktop.ModemManager'
    Apr 14 16:02:14 localhost NetworkManager[713]: <info> modem-manager is now available
    Apr 14 16:02:14 localhost modem-manager: libhal_ctx_init() failed: (null)
Apr 14 16:02:14 localhost NetworkManager[713]: <info> the modem manager disappeared
If I try to run modem-manager manually with debug:
    $ sudo modem-manager --debug
    ** ERROR **: libhal_ctx_init() failed: (null)
Make sure the hal daemon is running?
So it seems to be because of hal isn't running, if I try to start hal daemon it fails:
    $ sudo /etc/rc.d/hal start
:: Starting Hardware Abstraction Layer [FAIL]
I also tried to start hal at boot by putting it to DAEMONS in rc.conf. but didn't start either.
The laptop is Asus X61SL with x86_64 version of ArchLinux.
    Kernel: 3.3.1-1-ARCH
Would be cool if anyone can solve this.

It didn't help. Network manager doesn't show anything related 3G.
I don't think it's usb_modeswitch since 3G stick works great with wvdial on same system. Could it be a bug on modem-manager?
I start only the Network manager on boot, but while Network manager tries to start modem-manager, it throws error continuously in dmesg. Error is the same as in first post.

  • Start() failed on resource 'jackrabbit': XAER_RMFAIL : Resource manager ...

    Hello Group,
We are using Weblogic Version 9.2.3 & facing some problem related to 'jackrabbit' not available. I feel we are facing problem similar to the one mentioned in following link
Re: What causes XAER_RMFAIL : Resource manager is unavailable / unregistered
Following above post, we tried increased the Initial Capacity of this 'jackrabbit' Resource Adapter to 50. Initially it was 1. Although this doesn't change anything. Although it works fine for a few hours but seems like after server has run for a few hours and served some requests it starts showing this exception.
    Following is our weblogic-ra.xml file.

    Hi,
Can you please try increase the below MaxXACallMillis setting in Weblogic set 'Maximum Duration of XA Calls' to a bigger value

    Hi Paul,
We are using a third party tool called UMT Project Essentials 2012, recently we have removed the tool from sharepoint central admin and uninstalled from the server.
We tried deleting some missing assemblies features web parts which are referencing to that tool but still we are not able to start the workflow and the same issue persists.
below are the log file for your reference.

  • OPMN start failed - but I can see opmn -d running via ps -ef

I am trying to figure out why I keep getting the message OPMN start failed when trying to start OPMN. The thing I don't understand is why I can see the processes opmn -d running when I look via ps -ef.
If I run the opmnctl startall command once more then everything comes up and no error messages.
    Any Ideas?

    I had the same isssue.
Unix Solaris 10, Oracle Application Server 10gr2
After starting the infrastructure database and listener the issuing of opmctl startall (starting HTTP Server, OID, OC4J_SECURITY) failed with opmnctl: opmn start failed from time to time.
In addition, when starting the application server processes (Forms Container...) the processes will rereive a timeout and die later.
Reading the server logs (e.g. $ORACLE_HOME/dcm/logs/emd_logs/log.xml) on the infrastructure but also on the application server delivered :
oracle.ias.repository.schema.SchemaDescription: Unable to establish connection to the Oracle Internet Directory Sever
I came to the impression that the database listener process potentially was not yet fully initialized to receive requests
from the upstarting infrastructure processes due to the fact that the commands will get issued in a startup-script.
Solution : after starting the listener (before starting up the infrastructure processes) I entered sleep 10 (wait 10 seconds) in the startup-script, the problem is gone by now...
