License for jms  implementation

Hi, I am planning to implement a light-weight JMS implementation to suit my work. I want to know whom to contact for getting a go-ahead regarding the license for specification. Could anyone from Sun team if they have seen this post respond OR anyone who knows the process to be followed.
Thanks
~Venkat

Hi v.
I do not think u need any license for the specification.

  • License for Crystal Report for Visual Studion 2005

    Hi All,
I am developing reports for my application using crystal reports for VS 2005.  I read on microsoft site (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318102 ) that the free server software supports three active requests to the server.  It further says that developer will need to purchase additional licenses to increase scalability.  I think that our application would need the additional license.  However, i was unable to find a link on business objects site were i can buy the additional license for crystal report for VS 2005.  The link takes me to license for Crystal report 2008.  It would be great if you can answer my following questions:
    - what version of crystal reports do we need to purchase?
    - do we need license for each implementation or do we need license for the developers only.
    Thank you.
    Best regards,
    Abdul

Great questions! Let's get at em, one at a time:
How would you define a print job?
    - A print job will essentially be consumed any time the print engine (crpe32.dll) needs to  do work. So, processing one report = a print job. However, say you have one subreport, now the number of print jobs = 2. Now, say the subreport is in the details section and runs once per record. And you have 100 records. You will be running 1 + 100 print jobs. Paging to another page consumes a print job. Zooming consumes a print job, exporting and printing to a printer consumes a print job. So, depending on the report and the number of users, print jobs may be used up quite quickly. You can increase the print job limit by modifying the PrintJobLimit in the registry. For CR 2008, the reg entry is here:
    HKLMsoftware usiness objectssuite 12.0
    eport application serverinprocserver
(the above is used irrespective of the SDK (CR, RAS, BOE))
I am not using report viewer to render the report. I use 'ExportToDisk' method to save the report in word or pdf format. Does 'ExportToDisk' make one print job?
    - see above. Again, if the report has a subreport, this will consume at least two print jobs.
How much time does a typical print job takes to complete?
    - no way to tell in general terms. There are too many variables that will affect this. From how complex the report to database connections to version of runtime
What care shall I take to reduce the print job time?
    - Best you can do is ensure that you are destroying the report object once you are done with it (report.close, report.dispose)
Will using Report Application Server (RAS) or Business Objects Enterprise increase the number of concurrent print jobs? If yes then by what amount?
    - no it will not
To utilize Report Application Server (RAS) or Business Objects Enterprise, do I just need to use a specific SDK or is there some thing more to it?
    - You do need to use the RAS assemblies for RAS, BOE assemblies for BOE. More information is below.

  • IS JMS implementation available for BMQ?

    Hi,
I have an exposure to BMQ middleware and we have been accessing this thru the C libraries and now since we are moving to java, i would like to know if there is JMS support for BMQ and if so where can i find/download the JMS implementation

    Hi Dheepak,
I think you are referring to MessageQ. There is a pure
java client, although it is not a JMS client. I'm not sure
how it is packaged or licensed. Contact BEA sales and they
should be able to track it down for you. If they have trouble,
feel free to give them my name.

  • JMS implementation of P2P protocol: need for statefulness!

    Hello!
I have to implement the Chord peer-to-peer protocol using JMS. I'm thinking of using a message-driven bean per node in order to manage asynchronous communication (and I've been able to make this work).
The problem is that the protocol requires that every node keep some information about its neighbours, about the data it manages, etc.
This means I have to keep a state of the node, which doesn't seem to be possible if I use EJBs.
I think that a possible solution might be to couple the message-driven JMS bean with a session bean, and instruct the message-driven been to forward to the session bean the messages it receives. This should allow the session bean to manage the state of the node, while leaving the communication stuff to the message-driven bean.
    My doubts are:
    - How can the message-driven bean find and contact the associated session bean?
    - Is this design practical?
    Thank you!

You are accessing the runtime mbean of a JMS destination. The JNID name of a destination is not available on the runtime destination MBean.
If you are using jms-system-resource to deploy your JMS module, you should be able to access the deployment mbean of the destination. The starting MBean for JMS is JMSSystemResourceMBean in this case.

  • License for testing and production systems

    Hi Experts
Can any one help me out on implementing license in my B1 System.
According to our contract we have licensed following user types:
    User Type
    Licensed
    AddOn Access License    25
    Professional User                5
Software Development Kit - Development Version 20
We have Test/development system in one hardware and Production system on different hardware. Please advice me how to request/allocate license for my test/development system and production system.
We tried creating a Test System in SAP Market place and requested license for test system. While requesting license for production system, it is found that the license is exceeded. In other words, developent system license also counted.
Please advice me on the best practices of B1 license implementation.
    Thanks and regards
    Ajith G

    Hi,
Our customer wants to Keep the production data secure. Developers and consultants should not have the access to it.
Then you have only two options:
1.Either you should maintain a standalone b1 server for the developers and consultants to test their solutions and scenarios.
2.Otherwise you can create users in sql studio for accessing only the test database.
So that as per your requirement
All configurations and sample data will be kept in a test environment where developers and consultants can do their work.Once everything is correct Admin will do the transfer to production.
Note:New users can be created in the sql studio under Databases-><Company Db>->Security->Users, Rt.click new user

  • Concurrency for JMS Sender Adapter - Async/Sync Bridge

    Hi,
We have implemented a number of Async/Sync bridges using JMS Adapters, and are encountering problems scaling the solution.
    Async-Sync Bridge Scenario:
JMS Sender Adapter -> Integration Server -> Sync ABAP Proxy (CRM) ->  JMS Receiver Adapter
The bridge is using the Adapter Framework modules: RequestResponseBean & ResponseOnewayBean within the Sender Adapter.
The problem is that concurrency of processing seems to be driven from the number of Java Server Cluster Nodes on the Adapter Engine.  The JMS sender adapters do not appear to read from the external messaging system (MQ) in a concurrent fashion.  They appear to process in a sequential manner per Adapter:
    1. Read from request Message Queue (MQ)
    2. Send request for processing (IS)
    3. Wait response message
    4. Receive response message
    5. Write response message to Message Queue (MQ)
    6. Read from request Message Queue (MQ)
    7. Send request for processing (IS)
    8. Wait response message
    9....
We need to be able to introduce some means of scaling the solution so that mesages can be read from the MQ request message queue in a concurrent manner.  Hopefully we can do this without adding more javer server nodes to the Adapter Engine.
We were looking intot he possibility of tuning AS Java properties that control the number of connections to the Messaging System of the Adapter Engine but this has not provided a solution.
Any information on  this topic would be much appreciated.
    regards
    Murray

As far as I know, the only wasy for JMS adapter to do concurrent reads from a queue is by having multiple server nodes. This is document in note 856346, point 6.2
    Thanks

  • Oracle 8i vs 9i JMS implementation?

    Hi,
We are thinking about using 9i instead of 8i.
We know that 8i is not 100% JMS compliant but the question is - is 9i?
In short, does it support the onMessage method, more than one session per connection and JNDI lookup? Oh, and do you still need to downcast to subscribe to topics?
If anyone out there knows the answers you could save us some time and effort.
Any other comments would also be welcome.
    Many Thanks
    Kevin.

    Hi,
I was wondering what you have learned about this issue, Oracle 9i JMS implementation. My specifics are that I am trying to learn whether or not Message driven beans are supported, and if not, what the recommended method is for managing many Async message listeners to a topic. I think that 9i only supports J2EE 1.1 which would imply no MDB support.
    Thanks,

  • Which License is good OEM, OLP or Volume Licensing for small company

    Dear Admins,
Actually I am setting up a lab for a small company with 25 users. Confused which license to purchase. Vendor sent us quotation in which he mentions we have to purchase "HP Server DL-380 -G8 Intel Xeon 2.5GHZ " in order to install windows server
2008 R2 OEM Edition CD. Actually I just want to know. Can't we purchase  a assembled computer/Machine and purchase Windows Server 2008 R2 OEM CD  for successful implementation?. Now, My question to you is. What is this OLP and OEM. Does OLP mean
we can install Windows Server in assemebled computer or machine and OEM means only dedicate company machine is capable to install OEM edition, Just confused, Please let me know. It is just a small company with 25 users. What do you recommend. Thank you for
    your support.
    Best Regards,
    Fahad Ahmed.

    Hi Fahad,
Couple of things to remember as well
OEM licences comes with the machine probably you have seen laptops and desktop has a windows key sticker that's an OEM license. Only limitation with OEM is you can't use OEM license anywhere else then the machine you have bought it with. If an OEM license
machine dies license will die as well.
With volume license you have the freedom to move around the license. If you have only one license on one machine at one time.
Also when you buy a windows server license it comes with 5 user CALs. So that's why you have to buy 20 more.
Now if you want to know what are the CALs, so CAL is a Client Access License require for a
user/device to access windows server. For example if you have a user and he wants to access share files or printer from the server you will require a user CAL. So if 25 users will access the Server you will require 25 CALs.
Best thing to do is to speak with your account Manager from Dell or HP regarding the license side as normally they are really good in helping.
    Hope this helps :)

  • Difference between EDN-DB and EDN-JMS implementation

    Experts,
Looking for a difference between EDN-DB and EDN-JMS implementation. We have EDN implementation going on, where multiple source systems will be publishing business events. Events can be published using SOA Suite or JMS Bridge from AQ and MQ. In this scenario which implementation approach is suited better ?

Oracle Apps Adapter can be used for many other products other than E-Business Suite (JD Edwards E1, OTM, and others).  The apps adapter was mainly used in ERP systems and was strong when you needed have added functionality other than just polling a db for a status / calling a stored procedure...  It could connect out to other business services, xml gateways and so-on.
From a technical aspect / development perspective I always thought of that the Oracle Apps Adapter simplifies the development but, may is not flexible. The App Adapter's strength is the services that are difficult to integrate with (business services, xml gateway). If you need to hook in to these types of services, use the APPS adapter. (Again like it is named the "Apps Adapter" its for interacting w/ other applications to enable real-time processing / functionality.
That being said the dbAdapter can be very powerful but, like it is named is database focused (to poll some table to know when to kick off other logic and enable real-time functionality through database interaction.
Looking at the Oracle 12C Roadmap I had heard that there is more planned for the Oracle Apps Adapter moving forward, especially as Anuj said in the "Financial Apps" side of the isle at Oracle. Who knows what is real and what isn't though =]
    Hope this helps!

  • SQL standard 2012 licenses for SCCM 2012 R2

    Hi,
We are implementing SCCM R2 for customer, is the license for SQL standard 2012 included in price for SCCM licenses, we have around 5000 mahcines to be managed also a Secondary with express edition installed .
can secondary and primary have different version of SQL for replication ? or it should be same version?
is there a requirement for SQL standard like processor (How many number of processer can be used if this
license is free of cost for SCCM2012  (any limitations ) )  Is license cost calculated based on processor ?
also how many DB can be installed with standard on single instance ? can we use it for WSUS, MDT DB?
how will i get this SQL standard free version from Microsoft any download location.
    Please advise.
    Thanks
    Shuaib

SQL Server Standard is included with all System Center products. As Tim said CPUs are irrelevant in this case.
You can use whatever versions of SQL you like as long as they are supported. However isn't it always best to standardise.
You can install as many databases as you like as long as they are System Center related - the ones you mentioned are OK.
The customer should download SQL from their Microsoft Volume Licensing Center. If they choose the SQL that is bundled with System Center it will be pre-populated with a license key.

  • Licenses for 5545x. "How to install licenses from CD?"

    Hello
    I have (4) new ASA5545x'
I also received (2) sets of the following licenses which came CD in white cardboard envelopes:
             -Cisco ASA 55xx Series
             Any Connnect Mobile
             ASA 5545 License
             Product: ASA-AC-M-5545=
The Product key is in the envelope
             -Cisco ASA 5545-X CX AVC
and Web Security Essentials (3 year Promo)
             ASA 5545 License
             Product: ASA5545-AW3Y-PR=
The Product key is in the envelope
             -Cisco Any Connect 55xx Series
             Phone Licenses
             Product: ASA-AC-PH-5545=
The Product key is in the envelope
The ASA's will be configured for HA
Can someone provide a step-by-step guide for this implementation.

The Mobile and Phone licenses must be installed on the ASA proper. Here is a link to the procedure.
While you are on the ASA licensing portal, also check on your unit to make sure you have the (free) 3DES-AES license activated. If not, you can also request that on the portal.
The AVC and WSE license combo is on the NGFW / CX module and must be activated from within the PRSM (Prime Security Manager - the management GUI) after you've performed the initial setup per the Quick Start Guide. Here is a link to the "Managing System Licenses" section of the PRSM User Guide.

  • Does the Weblogic JMS implementation use the Time-To-Live values?

I am trying to send a message to a Queue with a time-to-live. The only way that
I can get this to work is by going into the console, and setting a default value
on either the Queue or the connection factory. But this is not the behavior I
want. I would like to do this programmatically instead so it can be property
driven and a Sys Admin can change it easily.
I downloaded the JMS spec and saw that you are supposed to set the time to live
when calling the MessageProducer's send message. I did this, but it doesn't work.
Is anybody else having this problem? Does Weblogic's JMS implementation just
ignore this value? Or do I have my Queues and other JMS components set up incorrectly?
P.S. All of my time-to-live overrides are set to -1 in the console, so my time
to live set in the program should be respected.

              Tom,
I was able to track it down to a programming error. Thanks for your help.
