Licensing and costs

Hi All,
I've done a search and can't find a reference to the ugly question of costs and licensing for this technology.
Does anyone know how this works ? Is there any additional cost ? If I create a widget to allow users to say authorise orders for which they are responsible. Is a license required for the user ? I guess so ?
I really want to push this technology as I can see the benefits but I know this will be one of the first questions I get asked by any prospective uptaker.
Many Thanks
Gary

  • Licensing and costs for Creative Cloud for teams on small company

    Hello,
I have a few questions regarding the teams solution.  They  are:
1- Is the license by user or by computer?
2- What is the actual cost of Creative Cloud for Teams ( small companies with less than 100 employees).  In some sections it states monthly cost of 69,99€ while others state 49,99€.
3- Assuming the monthly cost of 69,99€ does this cost covers all products listed ( ilustrator, photoshop, dreamweaver, premiere,...) for a single user or  is that the cost per user and per product?
4- How long do I have to keep the contract? Only 1 year?  If I want to cancel when should I communicate? or I just need to set on the console 0 users?
5 - Assuming I have only one creative user can the admin console be installed in a different machine (e.g. network admin) without the need of an extra license?
6 - If I acquire 1 license and decide to drop it 1 year and 1 month after will I pay 1 year plus that month or do I need to pay the 2 years?
    Thanks for your feedback,

  • OC4J license / distribution costs?

    Hi!
If I develop an application that uses OC4J, what is the licensing and cost on distributing OC4J with the application?
    Thanks!
    Dave Venus

You need to check out the Oracle Partner Network: Oracle sells embedded licences to ISV partners so that they can ship the product for dedicated use by their application.
I don't think there's a production version of OC4J standalone though - you would sell the Oracle App Server Java Edition (which is OC4J, OHS, management tools etc) instead.

  • Licensing model and costs

    Hi,
What is the licensing model going to be for Kodo? Will it be
developer based, runtime based, or what? What are the costs expected to
    be.

Will either Edition include InstantDB, and if so, will it be only for
development, or will it include a distribution license?

    David & folks,
Kodo JDO Standard Edition will be available under a per-seat developer
license. The cost will be $600 per seat. This license will not permit
the distribution of the developer class files. A runtime set of class
files must be licensed as well. This license (the runtime license) will
cost nothing, but we need to license it to prevent people from
essentially reselling our JDO implementation for, say, $599.
People interested in creating developer tools that rely in some way on
Kodo JDO should contact us for partnership / OEM possibilities.
The licensing structure for Kodo JDO Enterprise Edition is not quite
    hammered out yet.
Additionally, a one-year email support and upgrade contract will be
available for both the Standard and Enterprise editions. The cost per
year per license purchased will be $500 for the Standard Edition.
Again, the pricing has not been determined for the Enterprise Edition.
Finally, we will offer an introductory pricing discount of 50% off the
Standard Edition license fee ($299) to you, our patient, diligent, and
    much-appreciated beta testers.

  • How much does a license ADF cost?

    Hi,
i want to develop a commercial application with Oracle ADF (JDeveloper) on a Tomcat Web Server. I'm using an oralce database, which is already licensed.
Which products does I have to license and how much does it cost?
    Thanks a lot
    Wolle

If you're using ADF, then you would need to license that.

  • About Reader plugin license and fee

    Hello.
    I'm a software developer at a company.
Our company developed plugin for Acrobat and Reader for sale to our customers.
I found that Reader plugin needs license and annual fee.
Could you give how much is it costs? (annual fee).
The plugins features that we developed is that extract all text on an active document when printing
and save the text to file as a something.txt in local drive(C:\).
Is this feature of product includes DRM RIKLA structure?
And Is that different charge of fee than non-DRM product?
    Thanks.

    Also:
    - to develop a Reader plug-in you must start with Acrobat
    - Adobe only sometimes give permission for a Reader plug-in; the plug-in must suit their business aims
    - the only way to find your fee is to apply. The fee is not the same for everyone.
    - people do not need Reader plug-ins, because they can buy Acrobat. Part of the cost of the Reader plug-in fee is to make up for "lost" sales of Reader
    - security plug-ins (DRM) are the most expensive, apparently $50,000 per year
    - you will need to fully install and read many thousands of pages of documentation in the Acrobat SDK; there is a steep learning curve to write plug-ins.
    - Reader plugins have many technical limitations e.g. cannot save files.

  • FIM Licensing and Installation

    Hi,
I'm sorry  for this stupid question but I have a doubt. Until now I worked in a test environment with the trial version of FIM 2010 and I didn't use any license. Now the trial version is expired. My organization bought licenses and I would like to now
    how to better use them.
My test enviroment is composed of several servers: 2 of them are dedicated to FIM components (one with FIM Sychronization Service and one with the Service and the Portal).
I read about two type of licenses: CAL and 'for server'. To replicate my test environment, how many licenses do I need? I assume
2 server licenses, is it correct?. If I would simulate user provisioning from HR to Active Directory, do I need any CAL license in the test environment?
And another issue: the installation of the official version is the same of the trial version?
Can I use the same setup of the trial version? Do I need to use any certification?
The licenses that I will use in the test environment can be later used for the production environment?
    Thanks in advance.

    environment? I didn't understand..
Peter is saying that a subscription to MSDN will allow you to use FIM (and
a whole lot more) in your test environment for far less money that it would
cost to purchase full FIM server licenses and CALs.
"Normally you shoud be able to use the same configuration in test /trial as in production.".. so can I use the same setup.exe of the trial version? The license request is a step of the installation of the setup.exe?
Like the vast majority of Microsoft products, licensing is done on the
"honour" system in that there are no physical licenses to install.

  • BerkeleyDB licensing and inclusion (or exclusion) in a product.

We have a product that uses Berkeley DB.
For the licensing issue, are we allowed to include the appropriate shared libraries and executable BDB binary utilities in our "ship group"? No source code, no headers, no objects.
Or should we just tell them to get the specified BDB version from the download site?
Would prefer to include the shared libs and binaries if possible.
Please, I would like to hear the answer from one of the Berkeley members here.
Yes, I could just go read the licensing documents, but I'm not a lawyer, and just want to do the right thing here.
    Thanks,
    Jim

    Jim,
    Again, for the record, IANAL.
I cannot speak for all the open source licenses or their intentions, the GPL in particular, I can only talk about how I view the Sleepycat License in a non-legally binding manner. Please consult a lawyer and understand that I'm just summarizing some history below, nothing else.
The goal of the Sleepycat License is, and has always been, to allow those who build and redistribute open source applications to use Berkeley DB. The license is viral in that it clearly states that if you redistribute an application which uses DB you need to either be a) open source or b) be commercially licensed as a pre-condition to redistribution to 3rd parties. Your product uses DB, or at least it can use DB to add features and functionality when present, you could disable that ability. Your application is redistributed to 3rd parties. This then (IMHO & IANAL) triggers the license requirement that you a) open source your application code (ostensibly under an OSI approved license) and b) make that code readily available to all who seek to find it (place it on a server for easy download and make sure it is easy to find that page using an average search engine or the like) or purchase a commercial license from Oracle. The issue of who downloads, compiles, installs Berkeley DB is irrelevant, or at least it was never intended to be at issue (DB is found on most NIX systems by default and is easily installed using automated package managers as a dependency of some other application such as OpenLDAP).  Rather IMHO it is the redistributed application using DB, the one compiled against the db.h header and linked with libdb (dynamically or statically), that is at question wrt "redistribution".  Your application fits this case as it is redistributed to 3rd parties, it has the ability to use DB, yet it is not open source.  This is in conflict with the spirit* of the license, but IANAL (or a representative of Oracle's Legal team or representing their position on this matter) so I cannot defend the legalities involved in the terms of the license itself.
In my (non-legal, non-Oracle representative, non-binding) opinion it comes down to this, Berkeley DB is valuable to you and to us. The Sleepycat License has always been intended to support the open source community while allowing us to make a living selling commercial licenses. You make money from your code because it is valuable to your customers, we want to do the same for the same reasons (which only seems fair). What you're doing may be legal (I don't know because again, IANAL), and I can't fault you for trying to find a ways to cut costs for you and/or your customers, but how would you feel if you were on the other side of this conversation?
In the end, if your application requires Berkeley DB, but you do not ship Berkeley DB to your customer, you should consult with your company's legal counsel to determine whether or not you are in compliance with the terms of the public (Sleepycat) license for Berkeley DB.

  • Open PO report with GL's and Cost Centers

    Hi Gurus,
Is there a report that already exists where we can run open purchase
orders not received for non-inventory items that pulls the quantity,
price, GL account code, and cost center account code?
    Thanks
    Anusha

    Hi,
May be the requirement will not be met in a single report. Please check the t code ME2K with selection parameter as we101 which gives you the open POs for that cost center or range of cost centers.
    EKPO gives price details.
and check the table EKKN for GL account and cost center for that PO.
If you want open POs check the T code ME80FN.

    Dear SAP expert and gurus,
Would like to seek for your professional advise and consult on which report in MM that can capture the PO number, PO value and cost center.
    Kindly advise.
    Thank you
    Regards
    Leonard Tan

ME80FN is a good report that captured the PO number and amount. However, the cost center is not being captured here. is there any suggestion?
ME2K is not an ideal report to user cause, user requires the data to be shown in one line instead of 2 to 3 line.
Is there any report like ME80FN can be captured PO number, PO value and Cost Center.
    Thank you

  • BAPI_PO_CREATE1 missing GL a/c no. and cost center in every 100th PO line item

We have a strange issue. We are creating Service Purchase Orders by using BAPI_PO_CREATE1 function module. The source for creating PO is a Z table wherein it contains approximately 1000 records. We create one PO per Vendor and all POs are creating successfully but strangely GL account number and cost centers are missing in every 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, etc. line items and have NO issue with other line items. Our purchase order line item interval is 1 which means at every 100th line item we have an issue in missing GL account number and cost centers. We also checked by changing line item interval to '10' and still we have issue at every 1000th line item.
We searched for OSS notes but no luck. Did anyone come across this kind of issue ? Could you please advise.
    Regards,
    Krish

you can either share your code and your source file to have the people check if the error is on your part or you can directly contact SAP if you are the opinion that it is an error in their BAPI code.
But without looking at code and source file it is not possible to do any evaluation except you are looking for clairvoyants

  • BI FI and Cost Centre Reconciliation

    Hi
I have a requriement to create a GL reconciliation report between Finance and Cost centre data, i have a multi sitting over the relevant cubes and the data is coming through.
    The report is as follows
                     |_FI Total__|___Cost Centre Total__|__Difference_(should = 0)
    GL Account |                  |                                  |
For the cost centre data the report should bring through the data where the cost element = GL account in the row,
    ie GL Account - 60000
    FI Total - GL Account - 60000
    CC Total - Cost Element - 60000
    Difference - FI - CC
Any ideas on how i can do this or if this is possible?
    Thanks
    Josh

    Hi Harshal
Yes i was able to create this report, i had to create an infoobject ZFI_GLCE with 0GL_ACCOUNT as a ref. characteristic.
Then i created a cube and had transformation going from YCOOM_C02 (CO-OM: Costs and Allocations (Delta Extraction)) to the cube where i mapped the Cost Element to ZFI_GLCE and then also had another transformation from YFIGLO02 (General Ledger: Line Items) to the cube mapping the GL Account to ZFI_GLCE.
Could you further explain the problem you are having with the GL Accounts?
