I have exactly the same problem. I was running on a 32 bit system without any problems, but after instaling Win7 in 64 bit, this is the result. Sometimes an error message appears when starting Lightroom, saying the application crashed, but most of the time it just doesn't start.

Acrobat will not start-up and mac osx and will not register

Acrobat is installed on my Mac Mini, but will not allow me to register with Adobe. Also, the same Acrobat 8 pro will not operate on my MacBook pro because it is not registered and does not recognize my serial# etc. How can I call someone at Adobe? This product is worthless to me, and I have tried everything.

Hold down the option key while starting your iMac
You should see a screen with some imagines of hard drives appear.
Press the eject key to eject the disk, then select your boot partition (likely named "Macintosh HD") and hit the return key.
If you still hear the three beeps, the computer may be unable to access its system memory. Preform the resets detailed in these articles:

Or try as den.thed suggested if you have recently installed memory into your computer.
If your boot partition does not appear when you hold down option and "Recovery HD" also doesn't appear, or if it does not allow you to eject the disk, you may be experiencing hardware issues. Try the above resets, and if they don't work, you will need to go to your closest AASP or Apple Retail store for service.

Lightroom 5 will not start but shows as running in task manager?

I'm using Lightroom 5.7 (64 bit) on a Win7 machine and it was working perfectly until a few days ago. Now for reasons unknown to me, it will now not start correctly. According to Task Manager it is running but nothing appears on screen. It shows as a running process using about 15,020k. If I try and end the process it will not stop until I have tried 4 or 5 times.
I have tried renaming the preview file to force it to build a new file, and optimizing the data base and it ran once, said it was checking the catalog, and then reverted to the same behaviour.
If I can get it started I can revert to a backup database.
Help appreciated.

Turns out Lightroom not guilty. The hard drive containing the catalogue was failing and although tests seemed to show it as OK it was actually only reading / writing at a fraction of the correct speed. So Lightroom was taking a long time to read it's own catalogue. It tooks 48 hours to copy 1 gig of data off the disk.

After updating to 3.6.7, Firefox will not start on my Mac. Happened also with the last update. Is anyone else having this problem? I'm running updated OX 10.6.4 on an i7.

Last time (a few weeks ago) I had to uninstall firefox and reinstall it. Today I moved the last version to the trash and reinstalled the new version, but it still won't work. I obviously can't do this every time there is a new update. When I click on firefox, the icon bounces in the dock (like it's trying to open), and then nothing happens.

Same issue - however firefox will open but I can not click on only of my tool bar shortcuts - the writing on the google age is greyed out so I can not click on anything. Still no resolution? I have deleted the folders and re-installed - it will open and then locks and it will not work????

Using the CC I download Lightroom cc and found the trial version will not run. I had a Lightroom 5 with 24 days left on the trial which I deleted - help

if you see something about your trial expiring, there's nothing easy you can do.
otherwise, CC applications close immediately after launch

Lightroom 5 will not start under OSX Mavericks

After updating to OSX Mavericks, Lightroom 5 will no longer start on my MacBook Pro. Checking the system log, I see only this:

No, I have no idea but would suggest that if running Lr5 then d/load and up date to Lr5.2 from the Adobe site and see if that works.
BTW Lr5.2 and Mavericks work fine for me and others I hear of.

Early 2008 MBP will not start up to Mac HD only to "OS X Utilities"

Running 10.8.5 with all updates as of 10/25.
Last night (10/25) I updated iTunes. The computer appeared to be working as normal. This morning the system will only boot up to OSX Utilities. I ran "Verify Disk" and verified disk permissions on all volumes indicated in the left column (Mac HD and Mac OS X Base System). The disks were verified and repaired.
I have four choices: Restore from Time Machine Backup (I don't have this back up), Reinstall OS X ( I don't have enough HD space), Get Help Online (have not found my similar problem yet) and Disk Utility ( tried as noted above - system appears to be ok).
I'm going to the Genius Bar tonight, but was wondering if anyone had any suggestions prior to me going. Thanks for any thoughts!
PS: just guessing, but I feel it may be the hard drive. I am assuming its not the logic board since I can still sort of start up.

Called AppleCare, it's the HD. New computer or a new HD.

Lightroom 3 will not start, even after deleting the .LOCK file.

I have read about deleting the .lock file and that did not work. I have restarted my computer and that did not work. I tried opening a backup catalog and that did not work. I delete the .lock .journal and the catalog and the resorted from the back up. It created a new cataloge but it still did not work.
Any Ideas?

Thanks for the help. However it did not work.
I held the Option key and was able to create a catalog. I should explain LR3 tries to start. Then I get a message that LR3 unexpectedly quit. I am trying one more thing. I only had 15GBs of space on the HD. I am clearing more space to see if that works. I had updated the OS too.
OS is Lion 10.7.3
and LR3 3.6

Lightroom CC will not start up

Lightroom CC has been installed through the Cloud. When I click on it, I very briefly see a start up screen then it shuts down.
I have LR 5 still on the computer but the instructions stated it would not be affected.
Any ideas what this should be happening?

Lightroom 3 will not start

I am on an iMac.
I ran MacKeeper for the first time and after doing so Lightroom would not open.
When i try i get a report:
Lightroom 4 Beta opens as do all other Adobe products.
Can anyone help?

From a quick Google of MacKeeper, it appears to be some sort of almost malware or almost scamware.
You can try re-installing Lightroom. If that doesn't work, try renaming your preferences file. This will tell you where to find it.

I installed a multi-platform version of Lightroom 5 onto a pc, and I have recently switched to a macbook air, so I tried redownloading the same Lightroom onto the mac, and it will go through the installer and everything, but after I go through the basic introduction (terms and agreements, etc) it stops, and I cannot get it to go any further than that. The message I get upon trying to open Light room 3 - Lightroom cannot use the Catalog named "Lightroom 3 Catalog" because it is not writable and cannot be opened.

I am running on a PC window 7 Home Premium
Computer is not connected to the internet.
Computer Hardware is Intel i7-3770 with 16 GB Ram
Everything has run fine for over a year until the other day, when without warning, Adobe Premier elements stopped working, but is now fixed thanks to the forums. And now Ps and Lightroom are dead.
