Limit number of pages in the report

Hi
I am tasked to create a report to display only 10 pages maximum.
Please advise the way to do this.
1. I have suppressed all the sections with formula: PageNumber >10
This leaves a blank page at the end, which does not go even when i place Not OnLastRecord in paging option of the group footer.
2. I want to show the total number of records at the end of the 10th page, but it gets carried forward to the last blank page ( which i want to get rid off!)
3.the total number of records also included the number of suppressed records, whereas i want the count of records only visible.
Please help me to get this working.

Apply suppress Blank sections and check.

This is becuase you are using a recordnumber special fuction. Try the following :
You are suppressing records based on some conditon like
If condition = true then suppress
use the same condition to count your records like
Whileprintingrecords; // place this formula in your detail section ( wHere you have detailed records)
Numbervar x;
if contion = true then
x:=x+1;
Create one more formula : and place this where you want to see total record numbers (page footer of 10th page)
Whileprintingrecords;
Numbervar x;

Hi all
I am working on invoice report in which each invoice will display 1 original + copies based on the number copies parameter passed.I need the number of copies of the invoice report including the original and copy of the report .
If invoice displays in 2 pages, original copy page numbers are starting with 1.And first invoice copy page number should starting with 1 and second invoice copy page number should starting with 1.....and so on.
Is there any work around to start the each copy page number with 1? . Pls let me know if there is there any solution for this.

Hello to everyone, I'm writing a small app that exports a report to PDF (the app is done and everything is ok).
Along with the PDF I need to create an XML file that describes the PDF file properties. One of the properties I need to supply is the number of pages of the PDF file. How can I ask Crystal Reports SDK for the number of pages my ReportDocument is made of?

I found a Business Objects Note with a possible solution. You can search for Notes yourself by starting at the Business Objects area of this SAP Community Network (SCN) site.
Go to the [Business Objects link|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc] in the menu bar on SCN.
Then go to the [Support link|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/businessobjects-support] in the sub menu for Business Objects.
Now go to the [Business Objects Note link|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/businessobjects-notes] in the left side navigation menu.
Finally, click on the [Search Business Objects Notes link|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/advancedsearch?cat=sdn_ossnotes&query=&adv=true] in the middle of the page.
From the Notes Search page click on the Advanced Search link. For your question I searched on these terms - net page number - and added "boj" (without the quotes) in the Component field for Advanced Search. The "boj" component helps limit the search to Business Objects components - like the Crystal Reports .NET SDK.
This search brought up a number of results. The second result looks like it will address your question:

How do i retrieve the total number of pages in a report-- via RAS SDK

CrystalReportViewer has
showFirstPage()
showLastPage()
showNextPage()
showNthPage(int pageNumber)
showPreviousPage().
But how I determine the number of pages for a report. Our app handles pagination and hence this requirement.

There's no public API to get this info directly from RAS.
Option is to either walk through pages in the CrystalReportViewer till you get to the end, or use the non-public not-for-public use API:
int lastPageNumber = ((com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.application.AdvancedReportSource) reportClientDocument.getReportSource()).getLastPageNumber(new com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.reportsource.RequestContext());

How can I print a label on the last page of the report in the margin

I would like to display a label on my report but has to appear only on the last page of the report in the margin area or as a footer. I have tried using the solution below that I came across in this forum. This solution only worked if I put the label as a report trailer and not in the margin of the main section of report. The problem of putting the label as a report trailer is that it will only appear at the end of the report on it's own page, i.e. on a new page. I would like the label to appear at the end of the report, on the last page which has the other report details and not to appear on a new page on its own. Could you please help? Thanks.
1. Create a dummy query, like
select 1 dummy

2. Create a package spec:

2. Create a repeating frame and field for this dummy at the end of the report layout.
3. Create a format trigger for this frame:

There is no system variable to find total no of pages but you can use the following to get that one.
Declare a variable
DATA L_PAGE_COUNT(5) TYPE C.
Copy this code to the end of program
Page count will be printed on each page here
    WRITE SY-PAGNO TO L_PAGE_COUNT LEFT-JUSTIFIED.
    DO SY-PAGNO TIMES.
        READ LINE 1 OF PAGE SY-INDEX.
        REPLACE '-----' WITH L_PAGE_COUNT INTO SY-LISEL.
        MODIFY CURRENT LINE.
    ENDDO.
TOP-OF-PAGE.
    WRITE: /(70) 'Heading' CENTERED, 70 SY-PAGNO,'of ', '-----'.

How to print based on the logic that it is the last page of the report

HI
I want to print something on the last page.For example,I have to print a image(signature) file on the last page.How can I have the logic that it is the last page or any counter or variable to find that it is the last page of the report??

Is there an example of this posted somewhere that actually works?
I have used this exact syntax in everyway, every location possible and it either locks my MSWORD window on preview or throws a Java error.

Values not getting displayed from first page of the report.

Values in the report is getting displayed from second page.
First page in the report only displaying the report title and column names.
Secone page onwards, data and column names are generated.
Can any one please help me, with the cause of the problem.

A group by field needs to appear on every page of the report.

My rtf template has a word header which is the report descriptn that appears on evry page. The report is grouped by business unit and then grouped by job description. The problem is the business unit appears only first time when it gets changed and then it does not repeat its value until the next BU comes up. I want to display the BU on each page even though the value is same (just like as a heading of a section). I used the follwing tags. The one in bold is to solve the issue of puting the BU descr on each page. But does not work. Anybodys help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks alot Tim for spreading your expertise. That worked !!. I added the start and end body tag along with your solution of using the section with the group and it worked. Thanks alot again. However there is one prob now the page numbers are being reset and i dont want to reset it because the page numbers should continue in sequence till the end of the report despite of Business Unit change. Please any suggestion to solve this problem.

Invalid path? What are you doing? Writing the report output to an invalid directory?
Where are your terms and conditions? It would be very easy just to put them in a database table and select them in your report query.

How to avoid blank page in the report?

Usually blank pages appear as first page due to the presence of filler lines (//////) on top of report header.Please ensure that the top header is exactely started from top of page itself.

Hi, In obiee 11g, the pagination will be 1-25. Is there any possiblity in obiee to show the total rows count next to pagination. Ex: if the result contains 120 rows. it should display after the pagination

Assuming it is a valid and verified requirement, how you approach depends on the composition of the Interchange. Meaning, if you receive single ISA...IEA blocks with a single GS...GE, you can use the max of BTS.InterchangeSequenceNumber.
If you receive multiple ISA or GS's, it's a little different.
