Conditional formula to supress a section in the first page of the report

I need a section to display at the bottom of the first page of my report

My report displays a number of records, but at the bottom of the first page of the report, I need a section (a remittance slip) that would only appear at the bottom of the first page.
I've tried using a page footer with conditional suppression. This is fine for the first page, but in subsequent pages, the footer space is reserved, so the records in my details section only go 2/3's of the page. "Reserve minimum page footer" seems pretty useless.
I've looked into using a details section that uses "Print at bottom of page". But since my report contains groupings, this messes up my report structure and leaves a lot of extra space as well.
I can't guarantee that a group footer section will always be on the first page, since it is found at the end of each group.
Any suggestions? Anything I'm missing?

i would use the method that Abhilash suggested.

if you
1) create a new formula for every section that counts the height of the section...
whileprintingrecords;
numbervar lines:= lines + .2
//use the above for a details section that is .2 inches in height
whileprintingrecords;
numbervar lines:= lines + 2.2
//use the above for a group header section that is 2.2 inches in height
2) do the above for every section (yes it's painful but it works) and you'll see how the sections add to the running total
3) create a new details section that is conditionally suppressed if the page is not equal to 1 and if the running total count is not within a certain height range
4) make this new details section the height that you want the remittance slip and also have a New Page After forced for the section conditional on it being page 1
the above takes a bit of finicky work but if it's worth getting rid of the blank space...

Unable to hide the first page in the form

Hi ,
I am trying to design a dynamic form that has three pages. The form is being used in a LiveCycle process and during the process initiation, only the second page should be visible and the first and third pages should be hidden. I am trying to hide the first and the third pages using JavaScript. I noticed that the third page is being hidden but the first page gets displayed as an empty page. Based on this behavior here are couple of questions I need guidance with
Can we hide the first page within a form? If so why am I seeing this inconsistent behavior when hiding the first and third pages?
If the first page can not be hidden then is there a workaround to achieve my goal of re-arranging the pages so that I can add content to the first page dynamically and shift the previous content on the first page to the second page?
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

You've originally said.
in the first page i don't want data in main window...
yet using a command node to trigger the next page means you have to include a (presumably) empty main window in the first page.
Your main window has to contain some output (a table usually) and it's contents are the same on every page (only it's height can change). So, you can't have a blank main window on page 1 and a main window with data on pages 2 and 3.
Remove the main window from page 1, set page2 as the next page for page 1.
As for how to trigger page 3 you'll need to provide more detail on what the condition is. Do you want multiple copies of page 2 to hold all of the main window data, or just one? Do you want one copy of page 2 then the rest of the data on multiple copies of page 3. Be specific.

How can I disable the previous button in the first page and the next button in the last page?

I have created a new skin for a webhelp by modifying the layout and the buttons. However, I am not able to find a way where in we can
disable the previous button ini the first page of the webhelp and hte the next page in the last page of the webhelp. If both the next and previous button is visibile in the first and last page, it is sort of misguiding the user.
I am using Robohelp 9.

I think you are mixing Previous and Next in a browse sequence and the Previous and Next that you get in the browser itself.
In a browse sequence, they are automatically disabled at the start and finish. When in the first topic in the sequence only Next will be enabled, when in the last topic only previous will be enabled.
Previous and Next in the browser are working on the topics your user has viewed which is not the same thing.

If you open the Pages panel, (Window>Pages) you will see thumbnails of your master pages and your document pages. In new documents, there is usually a master called A-Master and one called None. If you drag the thumbnail of the None master onto the thumbnail of a document page, it will apply that master to that page. Presumably, you have made your page numbers on A-Master, so this will usually do the trick. If you have elements on A-Master that you need on the first page, but just not the page number, you can duplicate A-Master (which, by default will give you B-Master, but you can change the names if you like) and remove the page number on the duplicate and apply that to the document page.
It might also be worth noting that you can apply master pages in the fly-out of the Pages panel. Go to the fly-out triangle and go down to Apply Master to Pages…, then select a master to apply and the range of pages (1-8 will give you all 8, 1, 3, 5, 7 will be the odds, 1-3, 4, 6-8 if you want continuous ranges and individual pages).

In Pages '09, how do I remove the header from the first page of the document in a page layout document?

Working Pages '09, I am trying to set up a multi-page document using page layout (not a word processing document, because I'll be using lots of graphics and text boxes), with headers and footers, but no header on the first page, as this will be the title page. The layout>section pane has the 'First page is different' option greyed out (because it's a word processor only option). Help tells me that each page is it's own section in page layout, but there is no way to have one page without a header and all the others with, as far as I can tell. Am I completely missing something or is there a way around this?
Also, I want to do this again for additional chapters in the document (or else, I believe, be forced to manually start page numbering for each chapter in a new document).

Why do some pdf's appear in email as a neat icon and some as the first page of the document

I have a number of pdf's, saved from excel.
When I attach them into an email some appear as the icon and some appear as the front page of the document.
This also happens when I have several files from the same document.
What I want is for them all to appear as neat icons along the bottom of the email.

better to ask a question about BI Publisher in BI Publisher Forum than here in Reports Forum.
You can create a template in your rtf wich you reference in your header. With BI Desktop in Winword you can use a different header for first page than the others.

How can i set the page margin to be a different width on the first page than the rest in Pages?

I am creating an ebook where I want the first page to be the cover, but don't want to have a margin round the edge. However the remaining pages I want a margin so the text looks good (as I am also exporting this as a PDF) Is there any way to do this in pages?

Getting a field value from the first page on the second page in HTML

I have a 2 page form I'm presenting in HTML to the user. The first page they select an action, enter a USERID and click the next page button. (The button executes "xfa.host.pageDown();" on the click action at the server)
On the initialize of the second page I try to get the value of the USERID field from the first page and create a SQL statement to open my data connection. The issue I have is that I cannot get the value of the USERID field. This code works cause if I hardcode a valid value the query works. I tried to work around this by putting the same field on page 2, but it still did not work but the field was populated with displayed. I only assume the data is not populated at the time the initialize is invoked.
Here is my code on the initialize..

An upgrade for my IPod 3rd gen and now all my APPS close as soon as they open, except for the first page and the bottom line.

I just downloaded the latest upgrade for my 3rd gen IPod and now most of the Apps close as soon as they open. Only the first page of Apps and the bottom line will operate. Does anyone know of a solution. I checked with common problems and I don't have other Apps open.

If the ipod was completely drained of power, you have to leave the ipod connected to a power source (Like your PC) for up to an hour before it will have enough power to power up and be seen by windows and iTunes.
