Limit rows per page, include spacer and format last row on page break

Hello,
I am new to BI and would like some help with an issue I don't seem to be able to resolve?
I have a table that uses two xml group elements (2nd nested inside first) to produce my detail lines.
Example:-
First for-each loop runs over shipto details and within this another for-each loop runs over items related to that shipto, all of which results in multiple detail lines.
I need to limit the number of rows per page and should the data roll over to the next page I need to place a horizontal closing border on the first page's table (only using column borders).
Also when the data does not fill the page I need to add spacer rows to the page limit?
I have tried using examples found in these forums, position(), counters etc… but due to having the second detail loop I’m unable to get these working or I’m doing something wrong?
Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi BIPuser, thanks for the links.
I have tried some of the examples which I can get working with a single level of detail lines. However when I add the second level of detail lines the position() function seems to fail as my rowlimit appears to be ignored.
I am also unable to get the $lpp example working because the outer detail loop may only have one xml element and therefore BI assumes only one line is to be printed when in fact the inner xml element detail loop may have further multiple lines. I need to effectively count the outer & inner loops as one to determine the number of lines being processed.
Example of xml - My table for detail lines needs to include both ShipTo & item number lines grouped as shown, thereby counting & outputting 7 lines in this instance.

  • New file per page break

    Is there a way to have a Crystal Report export a seperate PDF or other format file per page break in the report?

    Hi Bill,
    According to my understanding you have a report running into multiple pages and you would like it to have exported on different PDFu2019s.
    I have done a quick test and we cannot have a different PDF for each page break in the report. When we export a report that will export the whole report.
    I hope this helps you.

  • Limit records per page in the horizontal looper?

    Might sound confusing, but I'm wondering if/how I can use the horizontal looper to show 30 records per page?
    For example, I have a photo thumbnail collection. I want to show 5 columns and 10 rows. Is there a way to get the looper to put a link to the 'next 50' so the user can see the next 50 thumbnails (starting at thumbnail 51 of course)?
    thanks

    I guessing here but there must be a bit of php code that you can edit that limits the number of records to be displayed instead of the default value of 10.

  • Need to limit ram per user +cpu usage % and internet speed

    I go into Windows System Resource Management but I only see limit by process. I need to be able to say limit "greg" to only be able to use a total of 5GB of ram and say 10% of the total available cpu usage. I saw some people suggesting to set up
    proxies for speed limiting but have no idea on how to go about doing that. Or if any1 has any software ideas like I'v tried Net Limiter 3 b4 but it was buggy and stopped other things from working properly on my pc plus don't know if I can use it on server.
    so just to clarify if they are running 1 program they can only uses say the 5GB of ram or if there using 5 differant programs there still limited to only using 5GB of ram.
    Thanks all in advance,

    Hi,
    You can use the System Resource Manager if you are using the Server 2008R2 or previous edition server, You can set an upper limit on the working set of a matched process,
    but about the RAM limits there have some additional considerations:
    • Do not use memory limits in Windows System Resource Manager to manage applications or processes that modify their own memory limits dynamically. This can interfere with
    the correct operation of Windows System Resource Manager and the managed application.
    •As a best practice, use CPU targets to manage resources. Apply memory limits selectively to applications that exhibit memory consumption issues. Excessively limiting the
    memory that is available to an application can increase the time it takes the application to complete a task, and it can increase disk usage.

  • How to avoid the hard limit of 100 column and items per page?

    I have created a Form on a Table with Report. I need to create/edit approximately 175 items. The items on the Form have a limit of 100 column and items per page. What is the best way to carry the remaining items to another Form and doing an insert or update? or is the 100 column limit on the insert/update per table as well?
    Thank You.

    Hi Rick,
    The 100 item limit is on a page, not a table, so you shouldn't have any trouble with your insert or update processes.
    Here's a thought:
    Report currently has a column that links to the first page of items (page 14) with the retrieved row. Presumably you also have a Add New button on the report page that links to page 14 for a new row.
    Define a Next button on page 14 that branches to the second page of items (page 16). Also define a Previous button on page 16 to return to page 14. But page 16 would be the only page with a Save button.
    Now, if user clicks Add New, user will get a blank page 14. Once user enters the info and passes validation they click Next and will be sent to page 16 to enter the remaining info and Save.
    If user clicks one of the column links, they will be brought to page 14 with the clicked row - they can change whatever info there and click Next, or just click Next, to get to page 16. After any changes are made, they click Save.
    I'm assuming you've been thru the tutorials and realize that you'd really have two Save buttons defined for page 16 - one conditional on your primary key item having a value (existing record) and one conditional on it being null (new record) - check out the tutorials for more info, but this is how the application would know whether to run an insert process or an update process.
    Hope this all makes sense and can help,
    John

  • How to limit row number per group without change new page in crystal report

    Hi All Expert,
    Is there any way to limit row number per group without change new page in crystal report 2008. The reason i do that is due to customer using printer EPSON LQ 300 (dot matrix) always will print in landscape if detech my layout in landscape. Because they need the record always print in 1 page (Letter size) for 2 groups and each group must show 5 records. Example:
    But, in CR2008, if you set the row per group from group section expert, definitely it will change to new page, but I do not want it change to new page. Any Idea?
    In one page (Letter size):
    Group Name: Customer-ABC
    NO  INVOICE  AMOUNT
    1)   INV001     USD100
    2)   INV002     USD100
    3)   INV003     USD100
    4)   INV004     USD100
    5)   INV005     USD100
    Group Name: Customer-ABC
    NO  INVOICE  AMOUNT
    6)   INV006     USD100
    7)   INV007     USD100
    8)   INV008     USD100
    9)   INV009     USD100
    10)  INV010     USD100

    Hi Angie.....
    I guess it is not possible.
    Because if you have one common group for all the 10 records then in one page it will show 10 records under one group.
    I mean i think it is not possible but m not completely sure......
    Lets wait for expert advise....

  • Changing Maximum Number of Rows Per Page to Include

    I am trying to change the "Maximum Number of Rows Per Page to Include" using Enterprise Manager > Coreapplication > Capacity Management > Performance.
    It was default to 75. I need to change it to around 5,000. I have a report which generates 5,000 records and I use Agent to send it to our user at a scheduled time.
    I change 75 to 5000, activate the changes and restart the BI. After restarting it automatically reverts back to 75.

  • Trouble with format of files exported from pages as .doc - when opened on a pc they have extra spaces and pages breaks inserted after each line?  Can be manually deleted, but defeats sharing purpose. advice?

    Hi all, I have trouble with the format of files exported by email as .doc from pages - when opened in MS word on a PC or other device, they have extra spaces and pages inserted after each line - can be deleted manually, but defeats sharing purpose.  Any advice?  Not the most sophisticated user.

    Got it. I tried booting with MOD_AUTOLOAD set to yes, and it was working fine. Looks like I needed to specify some more modules in my list.

  • After applying full scroll bar to the page including header and footer, Text editor ribbon actions cause page to automatically scroll down (while applying formatting)

    After applying full scroll bar to the page including header and footer, I have provided content to
    the page more than 100 lines and try to format the text from ribbon actions(format text area). On mouse over of font or fore color, the control jumps to the highlighted content area and not able to select the color. The page scrolls down and not able to click
    on any action.
    Consider this scenario also.
    A content editor web part is added toward the bottom of the page.
    Text is added to this (direct in the web part, not via a 'content link')
    You highlight some text and go to the Markup Style dropdown...
    Everything is fine until you hover over the "Paragraph" markup style, and suddenly the page scrolls to the web part you are editing, and you didn't have a chance
    to click and apply the "Paragraph" formatting
    I have tried testing this with text typed directly into the Content Editor, text pasted in from somewhere else, and text pasted in from somewhere else using "Paste as
    Plaintext" option in the ribbon.  In each scenario, I get the same results.
    Furthermore, I have also tested this in both IE8 and IE9 and get the same results.
    I can get it to occur most regularly with trying to apply the Paragraph "Markup Style" but
    I've also seen this happen with Font Size (any font size).  It's very frustrating since you aren't able to actually apply the formatting you need because the page jumps before you can click.  Has anyone experienced this before. Any feedback would
    help.

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that after applying full scroll bar to the page including header and footer, Text editor ribbon actions cause page to automatically scroll down (while applying formatting).
    I try to apply full scroll bar to the page including header and footer, the ribbon is missing after I scroll down to the web part. And I cannot apply the "Paragraph" markup style to the content.
    I recommend to use the SharePoint core styles to preserve the native functionality and GUI.
    By design in SharePoint, the ribbon is always at the top. When you select the content, you can apply the "Paragraph" markup style in the ribbon.

  • How to set the number of rows per page dynamically

    Hello all,
    i urgent need the option to set the number of rows per page dynamically.
    I've got a parameter.
    In dependence of the value of this paramter i want to set the number of rows per page of a repeating frame.
    The Reports Builder version i use is 10.1.2.0.2
    I defined a report trigger.
    My code so far:
    function R_G_BEMERKUNGFormatTrigger return boolean is
    begin
    if :vYN_Display_one_per_page = 'Y' then
    --what i've to write right here??
    return (TRUE);
    else
         return (TRUE);
    end if;
    return (TRUE);
    end;
    Can anyone help me please??
    Best regards
    Florian

    Do you just need to change back and forth between 1 and some other number? If so, you can create two identical layouts, one with the "number of rows per page" preperty (on the repeating frame) set to 1 and the other layout set to whatever. You would have to have duplicate layouts for each group you wanted to do this with. Your format trigger on the outermost master group frame where num of rows was 1 would look like:
    function M_G_ename_GRPFRFormatTrigger return boolean is
    begin
      if :vYN_Display_one_per_page = 'Y'  then
        return (TRUE);
      else
        return (FALSE);
      end if;
    end;Your format trigger on the outermost master group frame where num of rows was whatever would look like:
    function M_G_ename_GRPFR1FormatTrigger return boolean is
    begin
      if :vYN_Display_one_per_page = 'N'  then
        return (TRUE);
      else
        return (FALSE);
      end if;
      return (TRUE);
    end;

  • Number of rows displayed per page in an interactive report

    Hi,
    I'd like to know if it's possible to change the values of the select list called 'Rows' in an interactive report (which is displayed in the search bar).
    Indeed, I want to display 16 rows per page and I can only choose among the values 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 50, 100, 200...
    Thank you for your reply.
    Emilie.

    Hi Tobias,
    Thank you for your help.
    I had already tried this but it's not what I want. What your are saying only limits the values in the select list (for example, if I set to 16, I can't choose values higher than 16 in the select list 'Rows' of the search bar).
    I want to limit the number of rows displayed in the interactive report to 16 per page.
    Any other idea?
    Emilie.
    Hi Emilie,
    Go: Home>Application Builder>Application 301>Page 51>Interactive Report Attributes>Search Bar>Maximum Rows Per Page
