Limitations in customized Wizard based templates?

Is there a way on a project-by-project basis to point the wizards to a specific set of customized templates?
Since the wizards use %ORACLE_HOME%\jdev\system\templates\blafjspwebapp\* for jsp generations it seems that a developer who does multi-project developemnet and wants to "customize" these templates (i.e. use their own log, titles, links etc.) is forced to keep a library of "customized" templates and constantly overlay these templates with the needs for the specific project being worked on. This seems cumbersome.
Any help is appreciated.
Ed.

Ed,
Better design time support for providing custom templates for BC4J JSPs is planned for in a future release. In the mean time
you can do the following to keep you going.
The BC4J UIX web app wizard uses the templates in the 'blafjspwebapp' directory as you noted. This info., namely the
directory location to use itself is captured in a wizard definition file which you can find in jdev\system\TemplateWizard\def
folder.
Of interest to you is the file CaboTagsWebApp.xml. When the wizard runs, it consults this file to figure out where
the template files are. So the key to solve your problem is to change the definition file, so that the templates may be
picked from a different directory. But since you want the existing wizard template as well as your own, you may
create a new wizard definition file.
1. Shut down JDeveloper.
2. make a backup of %ORACLE_HOME%\ jdev\system\.... folder., to restore if something goes wrong.
3. copy %JDEV_HOME%\jdev\system\TemplateWizard\def\CaboTagsWebApp.xml to
%JDEV_HOME%\ jdev\system\TemplateWizard\def\MyOwnWizard.xml
4. Edit MyOwnWizard.xml.
Search for the following in the xml
<WizardTask class="oracle.jbo.dt.ui.wizards.wiztemplate.codegen.FileCodeGenerator">
<config/>
<wizdata>
<selection id="Common">
<file in="blafjspwebapp/uix_errorpage.jsp" action="substitute"
out="{%HTML_SRC_DIR%}/errorpage.jsp" />
<file in="blafjspwebapp/main.jsp" action="substitute"
out="{%HTML_SRC_DIR%}/main.jsp" runnableTarget="true" openInEditor="true"/>
Modify each "in " attribute to point to template location of your choice. Assuming your new templates are located in
%JDEV_HOME%\jdev\system\templates\myowntemplates directory, following will be the change.
<file in="myowntemplates/uix_errorpage.jsp" action="substitute"
out="{%HTML_SRC_DIR%}/errorpage.jsp" />
After you have done this you have effectively created a new wizard which will use your templates.
5. The next thing to do is to tell JDeveloper to use your own wizard definition.
a) make a backup of %JDEV_HOME%\ jdev\lib\gallery.xml
b) edit gallery.xml and look for the following

<wizardClass>oracle.jbo.dt.ui.wizards.tagswebapp.WebAppWizardAddin</wizardClass>
<wizardParameters>

AppType:cabo

DefFileName:def/CaboTagsWebApp.xml

UIResFileName:def/webapp.rts

</wizardParameters>

c) Copy the above snippet and append it after this item. Change the name and wizard parameter called deffile as follows

<wizardClass>oracle.jbo.dt.ui.wizards.tagswebapp.WebAppWizardAddin</wizardClass>
<wizardParameters>

AppType:cabo

DefFileName:def/MyOwnWizard.xml

UIResFileName:def/webapp.rts

</wizardParameters>

d) Note that the original definition should also remain if you wish the access the old wizard as well.
Exit and restart jdeveloper. You will find the new wizard accessible from the Object gallery, just like the
JDeveloper wizard.
Note that the above **might change** in a future release of JDeveloper.
Your inputs on the type of customization features you would like in BC4J wizards are welcome. We will
incorporate your feedback in a future release.
Hope this helps,
Sathish

• Wizard based Visual Studio project template selection

I wish to create a wizard based solution, which would allow a user to choose the type of project template he would wish to load.
In Visual Studio, for example, upon selecting a Win32 console project, the user has a chance to have MFC / ATL support, SDL support etc, or he may not.
On similar lines, I wish to provide a user the choice of selecting a 64 or 32 bit project template,with or without MFC support.
I can create a wizard for such an endeavour, and I can associate this wizard with the root project of a multi project solution, and can capture the input of the user. But how do I then select that particular project to be loaded for the user?
How does Visual Studio achieve this project selection, and what would I need to do to achieve the same?
Kindly advise. Thank you.

VC++ project system now supports the same .vstemplate based wizards, its just that they never bothered to convert the old ones, as they are rather large, and people that use them are familiar with them.
But if you poke around the ....\Common7\IDE\ProjectTemplates\VC directory, you'll see some examples of the newer style of templates in the Phone and Store directories, which contain the newer style templates.
If you want to build a project template that allows for selecting different (or multiple) project types, I'd recommend starting with a stock project template, and then create and add a custom IWizard assembly to it (much like that walkthrough I mentioned),
then add your additional "hidden" templates. To keep the hidden templates out of the New Project dialog. Then you can programmatically add them to your solution, per whatever
the user selects, in the UI you display in your
IWizard.RunStarted implementation.
I don't have an example of this finished, but I hope to have one done here shortly. It's basically a set of templates that will generate a Project or Item Template Project, and a VSIX wizard assembly project. Essentially, it's a template that will give you
the same results if you do that walkthrough on the VSX Arcana blog I mentioned earlier. I'm in the final stages of cleaning it up, and will hopefully have it posted up on codeplex and the VSX Arcana blog later this week.
Sincerely,

• Email Alert Template Issue - List Alerts (Alert Me) emails not using customized XML alert template

We have recently customized the XML alerts template (AlertTemplates.xml) for our site collection in SharePoint 2010 to exclude specific fields in the email when users who have subscribed using the "Alert Me" feature. We have renamed the
custom alerts XML file and loaded the custom template in the following directory (%ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web server extensions\14\TEMPLATE\XML) and restarted IIS. Once users subscribe to the alerts using the list "alert me"
function they received the customized email as intended.
We needed to auto-subscribe users to the email alerts so what we did was use a powershell script to add users to the alert subscriptions using the script shown below:
Import-Csv D:\Temp\filename.csv | ForEach-Object{
$webUrl=$_.WebUrl
$listTitle=$_.List
$alertTitle=$_.AlertTitle
$subscribedUser=$_.SubscribedUser
$alertType=$_.AlertType
$deliveryChannel=$_.DeliveryChannel
$eventType=$_.EventType
$frequency=$_.Frequency
$oldAlertID=$_.ID
$web=Get-SPWeb $webUrl
$testAlert = $web.Alerts | WHERE { $_.ID -eq $oldAlertID }
IF ($testAlert) {
$web.Alerts.Delete([GUID]$oldAlertID)
Write-Host Old alert $oldAlertID deleted. -Foregroundcolor Cyan
$list=$web.Lists.TryGetList($listTitle)
$user = $web.EnsureUser($subscribedUser)
$newAlert = $user.Alerts.Add()
$newAlert.Title = $alertTitle
$newAlert.AlertType=[Microsoft.SharePoint.SPAlertType]::$alertType
$newAlert.List = $list
$newAlert.DeliveryChannels = [Microsoft.SharePoint.SPAlertDeliveryChannels]::$deliveryChannel
$newAlert.EventType = [Microsoft.SharePoint.SPEventType]::$eventType
$newAlert.AlertFrequency = [Microsoft.SharePoint.SPAlertFrequency]::$frequency
if($frequency -ne "Immediate"){
$AlertTime=$_.AlertTime
$newAlert.AlertTime=$AlertTime
$newAlert.Update()
Write-Host Created $newAlert.Title for $subscribedUser . -Foregroundcolor Cyan
} ELSE {
Write-Host Alert $alertTitle for $subscribedUser already done. Moving on. -Foregroundcolor Magenta
When we ran the script and added the users and restarted the service, all users who were auto-subscribed via this method get the email without the customizations that were done in teh custom alert template. All users who manually subscribed on their
own to the list using the "Alert Me" function would get the customized email.
Does anyone know why users who manually subscribe to the alerts get the customized email, and users who were auto-subscribed using the powershell script do not get the customized email and get the standard generic email template?

Hi ,
According to your code, it create a new alert using SPUser.Alerts.Add() method. For this method, it will create a new alert based on the predefined alert template by default.
If you only assigned the custom alert template to the list, users who manually subscribe to the alerts get the customized email, but users who were auto-subscribed using the PowerShell script get the standard
generic email template.
For your issue, you can set the new alert ‘s alert template:

Here is a good blog you can have a look:

• Custom Wizard in Oracle RPAS

Hi,
I am newb here. I did some research but i could not find answer for my question: How to build custom wizard in configuration tool in RPAS. The only information I found are placed in configuration guide, but it is limited just to list of icons in configuration tool.

Hello
I created custom class based on CL_RSR_WWW_MODIFY_TABLE in order to modify web template.
I would like to pass parameter to this class. How is it possible?
HUGE thanks!

Hello ,
Various methods will be given for the class like CAPTION_CELL CHARACTERISTIC_CELL:
Position the cursor on the name of the method and click on 'Redefine' , where you will get the parameters used in the method such as I_X, I_COLSPAN, where you can define your logic.

• Custom report row template

Few questions when using a custom report row template. Followup to the discussion Report Row Template: Column condition
1. The row template allows full control how the entire row is rendered. I can see this being used when the report query returns a single row and we need to format it in a very specific way. But when the query returns multiple rows, how is the specified Row Template used? i.e the first row is "consumed" and rendered as per the template. If the same process is repeated for subsequent rows, how can we control whether successive rows are rendered across the page (left to right) or down the page (top to bottom)?
2. When a custom row template is used to render a tabular form, the hidden columns (marked Edit=Y, Show=N on Report Attributes) are present in the markup even when they are not specified in the row template! i.e. the MRU process works. Of course, this is a good thing but I was curious to know what exactly controls this, what part of the report template controls where the hidden form elements are placed?
3. Any number/date formatting specified declaratively on the Column Attributes page appears to be taken into account when column values are substituted in the template using #COL# notation. But all the other Column Attributes are ignored (alignment, sum, show, link, etc). Is there a way to use the Link attribute to declaratively specify the link so the value of the column #COL# as seen by the report template includes the A tag?

• Please tell me a BAPI to get Closing balance of customer account based on Sales Organization?

Hi Experts,
A requirement has come up where I want to get Customer closing balance based on its sales organization as this particular customer is extented to 2 different sales organizations. I want to get the closing balance of individual sales organization vise.
Please tell me a BAPI to get Closing balance of customer account based on Sales Organization?

AFAIK there is no such BAPI, cause there is no database table with balance for customer per sales organisation. (No KNCx table for VKORG)
First ask functionals (*) how to recover sales organisation from a FI document (I suppose for SD invoice it is easy if no merging between organisation) will be a little tricker for pure FI document like payment transactions (hope thet are quickly cleared...) Then start from non cleared records of BSID (also BSAD if you use a past date of reference, in case you have to add the records of BSAD with clearing date greater than reference date) and cross it with SD information to break FI into sales organisation.
Regards,
Raymond
(*) Ask for where do they store VKORG in FI documents

• Access to customizing default: report templates

I seem to remember far back in the corners of my memory, someone here on the forum mentioning that although we didn't have access at the time (probably back at HTMLDB 2.0) to customize the default report templates, that there were plans to make this an option in a future version of Apex. Does anyone have any idea if this is something that is being planned, or better yet, available today?
If you're not sure what I'm talking about I'm referring to the field that says 'Report Template' in the 'Layout and Pagination' section of the 'Report Attributes' page in the application builder.
The problem I'm having is that I'm using the 'default: vertical report, look 2 (show null columns)' report template and I've got some long column headings that I want to include a line break between each word of the heading, so they're stacked vertical instead of wide horizontally. I've add HTML break tags to the headings but they're disappearing when the page is rendered.
I've made sure to set the 'Strip HTML' setting to 'No', but whether it's set to yes or no doesn't matter, the headings display the same either way.
BTW, doing the same thing in a template based multi-row report seems to work fine. However, trying to use/apply the 'Value Attribute Pairs' report template yields the same result as the default vertical look template.
So I have 2 questions:
1) anyone know how I can make these heading words stack up vertically, one word to a line?
2) are we going to get access to customize the default report templates?
Earl

Hello,
1) anyone know how I can make these heading wordsstack up vertically, one word to a line?
Probably the best way to do this is to just hard code
a <br /> between your words.That's exactly what I'm doing (and what I said in my original post), however those breaks are disappearing during page rendering when I choose the report templates I mentioned.
I don't understand why this technique works in the multi-row report templates and not in these vertically oriented value/attribute report layouts.
2) are we going to get access to customize thedefault report templates?
No, you should just use a regular theme based
template, the default report templates are there for
backwards compatibility and well basically for people
that don't care about the UI. Since your at the point
it seems you do care about UI the proper thing to do
is to move to a standard report template that you
have full control over.Fair enough. I'll look into that, but I think there's still an open question here as to why the HTML breaks aren't being returned in the page markup for these report layouts.

CarlEarl

• Custom Wizards (using Wizard Framework)?

Is there a good resource out there that describes how one might go about creating a custom wizard (I suppose using SAP's Wizard Framework) to be used during creation of new iViews (of a particular portal archive)? I've been looking around, but haven't found much on the topic. I have looked at the URL iView code (which implements this framwork API), and it appears somewhat involved.

• Custom plugin based on user role membership

Hi all,
I would like to develope a custom plugin that generates account userid (on process form) with different syntax against role membership.
With "syntax" I mean name.surname.random_number for employee users and surname.company.random_number for example.
I'll try to explain the scenario more in details:
1. I create a user identity through a request
2. After user identity has created successfully, I assign a role to the user. Since roles are associated with access policies, role assignment triggers provisioning on target system.
3. The custom plugin that I would like to develope shuold be able to generate proper userid against role membership. For example if I assigned the role "Project Manager" the custom plugin should generate the account userid with name.surname.random_number format; viceversa if I assigned the role "External Reseller" the custom plugin should generate the account userid with surname.company.random_number format.
Looking for custom plugin based on role membership in forum, I found a couple of threads about this subject:
- Email notifications after role grant
- Re: OIM 11g Role Membership Event Handlers.
I tried to implement what explained in the threads, but I would be sure about what I've done.
Here what I've done:
1. created plugin.xml file
2. created EventHandler.xml metadata file
3. developed a java calss for testing pourpose
4. copied the custom plugin class to OIM server for example in $MIDDLEWARE_HOME/OIMPlugins/lib
NOTE: during this operation I have exactly mantained the same directory structure of custom java package.
For example custom plugin class is under my.custom.plugin java package and I have copied custom java class under $MIDDLEWARE_HOME/OIMPlugins/lib/my/custom/plugin folder
5. created a zip file containing custom plugin class (always with its directory structure) and plugin.xml file
6. copied the zip file to $OIM_HOME/server/plugins
7. edited ant.properties file (under $OIM_HOME/server/plugin_utility) setting wls.home and oim.home variables
8. built the wlfullclient.jar (only the first time)
9. registered the custom plugin
10. created the custom plugin dataset file
11. imported it in OIM database using "weblogicImportMetadata" utility
12. purged cache using "PurgeCache" utility
NOTE: all the steps above was executed using the system user running OIM process

Probably I don't explain myself clearly....sorry for that!
Anyway you are right, the role of the user can change after the user is initially provisioned.
I'll try to summarize to be sure to have understood your answer and to explain my scenario more in details:
1. After user identity creation, I'll assign the role "Project Manager". Before role assignment the user has not any role. So using a pre-populate adapter I can retrieve the assigned role and compose the right userid.
2. After step 1, I need to assign another role to the user, the new role should be "External Reseller" for example. In this case the user has a role already. What I would is: basing on the role that I'm assigning (External Reseller), the pre-populate should compose the right userid. Obviously this second userid will be different from the first one and this means a new account will be created for the user. At the moment I don't care to deprovisioning the first userid.
Is it possible with pre-populate adapter?
Sorry again for my not very clear explanations.

• Customs Duties based on Country of Origin in the PO

Hello,
I would like to seek your help on pricing conditions in the PO.
We have created an access sequence for customs duty condition type ZOB1, and we used the key combination delivering country, commodity code, and the country of origin. We cannot maintain the country of origin in the material master because it is only known upon PO creation. The condition type ZOB1 is supposed to read the country of origin in the PO. Instead, the country of origin in the material master is what's being populated in KOMP-HERKL, which is the field catalog we used as part of the access sequence/condition table.
We would like the system to get the customs duties based on the country of origin entered in the PO and not the one in the material master.
Is this possible? Has any of you tried to modify the values in the structure KOMP before PO prices are determined by the system based on the access sequence?
Any inputs will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Hi Lakshmipathi,
So far we are encountering 2 incorrect deliveries in production. This does not involve Sales order but Purchase Order. I tried to check the country of the Supplying Plant and the country is not the country reflected in the delivery. It is expected that the country of the supplying plant must reflect in the delivery. Checking the PO, it is not also getting the correct country but it is getting the country of the receiving plant. We got confused why it is getting the country of the receiving plant.
Thanks,
Rish

• Custom File Renaming Template Keeps Changing

I'm having issues when creating a custom file naming template in Tiger with LR 1.3.1.
When importing files, I created a custom template to rename the files with YYMMDD_{original file suffix}{Master}.tif to get this: 071217_12056Master.tif. The first import goes fine. But when I import another batch of files and choose the template all I get is 071217_Master.tif.
I tried creating the template by hitting F2 to rename the photo and get the same results. The really odd thing is that some of the other templates have their characteristics jumbled around so that what I thought was the "orig file-name" template might actually produce something like 071217_.tif.
The original file suffix suffers the worst in terms of disappearing without cause. This behavior was occurring in the 1.2 ver. as well. I've deleted every single template thru the editor, recreated them again and still get the errors.
Hopefully someone here can provide some clues?
Thank you!

It sounds as though your import preset either isn't working or wasn't setup correctly.
Using the full screen import panel, make sure Copy or Move is selected and then select your Import Preset....what does the File Renaming panel look like? "Rename Files" should be ticked, Template should read "Custom Settings" (or the specific rename preset if you've saved it) and the sample should show the correct rename format, like so:
So does yours look like this, or different?

• Custom Web Album Templates in Lightroom

I work for a department at UMass Amherst, and we're considering using Lightroom to create our web albums. We used the beta, and there was no way to create custom HTML/CSS templates (besides hacking the code it produced every time). Is this a feature that is included in the 1.0 release, or do you still have to hack the code every time?

Check out Sean's two posts
here. Have fun - it's all xml and xslt - and let us know how you get on.

• How to set a customized search results template for all users

Hi.
I know the customized search results views are stored in a file called pne_portal.hda that resides on every user's subfolder in data/users/profiles/...
Is there a way to set a customized search results template for all users? If it's impossible, is there a way to modify the Headline view? I'm not able to find the resource or template where this view is.
Thanks in advance.

I wasn't able to understand what was meant by this post. Therefore, I modified the standard template HeadLine View.
Columns for this template are defined in the include slim_search_result_table_header_setup (in std_page.htm).
Here is the modification of the code:
<$if customTemplateId and not (baseTemplateId like customTemplateId)$>
<$columnsString = utGetValue("customlisttemplates/" & strLower(customTemplateId), "columns")$>

<$else$>

<$columnsString="dDocName,dDocTitle,dInDate,dDocAuthor"$>

<$columnsString=columnsString&",xComment"$>

<$endif$>

Hello,
