LimpidLog: you do not need to hard-code log statements

LimpidLog 1.00 released
This is a milestone release, adding line number event: it records all exceution related
to the line number of the source code. The log records are ready for GUI "debugger".
LimpidLog allows all information about the execution of a class to be logged at runtime when the class is registered. When you register a class for logging at runtime, LimpidLog uses bytecode sidenoting to add logging information to the class.
LimpidLog is for J2EE, Java EE and standalone Java application logging and supports J2EE, Java EE and standalone Java applications. LimpidLog also supports Netbeans with GUI management as a Netbeans plug-in.
LimpidLog is an open source project with LGPL license at http://www.acelet.com/limpidlog/. The project is hosted at sourceforge.net.

  • You may not need to install the Run Time Engine...

    I know this has been mentioned before, but after a long search of the archives, I couldn't find the right person to give credit to - sorry!
    If you have a simple exe, you may not need to install the runtime engine on the target machine at all - all you need to do is include some of the engine's files with the exe for it to work. Try it out: copy the following files & folders into the folder containing your exe:
    ..\National Instruments\shared\nicontdt.dll
    ..\National Instruments\shared\nicont.dll
    ..\National Instruments\shared\LabVIEW Run-Time\your_version\everything (including all sub-directories)
    so, using 6.1 as an example, you exe's directory would like something like:
    ..\AppDirectory\MyApp.exe
    ..\AppDirectory\MyApp.ini
    ..\AppDirectory\My_Apps_DLLs,if_any
    ..\AppDirectory\nicontdt.dll
    ..\AppDirectory\nicont.dll
    ..\AppDirectory\lvapp.rsc
    ..\AppDirectory\lvjpeg.dll
    ..\AppDirectory\lvpng.dll
    ..\AppDirectory\lvrt.dll
    ..\AppDirectory\mesa.dll
    ..\AppDirectory\serpdrv
    ..\AppDirectory\models\heaps_of_stuff_in_here
    ..\AppDirectory\errors\more_stuff_in_here
    ..\AppDirectory\script\and_some_bits_in_here_too
    Take all of this data to a machine without LabVIEW or the runtime installed, and try to run the exe - all going well, it will execute without any problems. This exe distribution method can be really useful, especially when distributing autorun presentations on CD-ROMs.

    Yes, this method is not supported. However, this method is good if you wish to write your own installer for a LabVIEW Application. (Note: The method above does not install DataSocket, NI-Reports, or any of the 3D Graph controls.)
    I would still suggest running the LabVIEW Run-time Engine installer so that more than one application can use it.

    Is my understanding correct that you do not need to have anti-virus, malware, etc. for an iPad?

    You do still need to be smart on the internet. YOu can be phished just as easily on an iPad that you can on a computer. So be smart with your internetting. THe iPad does offer a user more protection than a regular PC but a user's actions can change that.

    If you are not from the US, then you can't purchase a phone from the US Apple store website because there is no international shipping available.
    Wait until the iPhone 5 goes on sale where you are.

    Trouble with buying songs using gift card

    How was the account created ? Unless the instructions on this page are followed when creating an account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
    then credit card details will need to be entered before the account can be used to download any item from the store.
    You could see if this post by mountaingoatgirl lets you review your account without needing to enter credit card details : https://discussions.apple.com/message/24303054

  • How do you restore a ipod touch 4th generation that you do not have to lock code too?

    Hey guys,
    I need some help.. my little brother got a ipod touch for christmas last year. He lost it sometime this year, and i found it the other day. When he lost it, it had a lock code on it, and now he can't remember the lock code. Itunes wont let me restore it without the lock code. This is a troublem because we can't do anything with the ipod. If someone knows how to unlock the ipod without the lock code or the serial number being needed that would help a lot. He also doesn't have the serial number because when he got the box he threw it away, and there are too many scratches on the back of the ipod to recover the serial number. Pleasae help.

  • Dropped iPhone in water?  Read my experience - you may not need to replace!

    I just wanted to let people know what happened to me when I dropped my phone in a sink full of water. First, I just want to say I really think Apple is great. The said they would "repair" my broken phone for only $250 which meant that they would just give me a brand new phone in exchange for mine. They don't have to do that but it's pretty cool that they do. The main reason I am writing this is that my phone is working perfectly after being submerged for a full second! I freaked out and got really upset when it happened and there was no help to be found online, so I'm writing this so that other people don't throw their phones away without at least trying to get it working. Here are the things I did, I'm not sure what did the trick maybe just the combination:
    Sat night dropped phone in water,
    dried it off right away and "tapped" the bottom of the phone against a paper towel for about 20 minutes. Water kept leaking out of the speaker holes.
    Then the phone freaked out for about 3 hours. My husband checked it when he got home and it was working almost perfectly. The on/off button didn't work and it kept telling me about a non-compatible device, but other than that it was working normally. Oh and there was a splotch of water under the screen in the corner.
    I decided to let the battery die and let it dry out before I plugged it into the wall charger. I let it dry out until Tuesday night and when I plugged it in it was working normally like nothing had ever happened!! I voided the warranty but I don't care I'm just glad I still have my phone. If you have just dropped your phone in the water don't give up on it!
    -Lindsay

    Well, I have a good experience to report. Or is it a bad experience with a good outcome? I dropped my iPhone in the toilet this morning. Took me a second to realize what had happened but then I moved faster than I have in years. The case I use is net on the sides and bottom so offered no protection. I immediately dried it and blew in every opening I found, tried it to see if it worked, ran to read these Discussions to see what to do, and discovered I shouldn't try it to see if it works! So I powered it off. It had been giving me error messages like something wasn't compatible, and it would blink on and off. The screen looked fine, I had my calendar and photos but I'd lost the Internet connection, and Edge, and had no AT&T service bars.
    Someone (haven't yet found it again) suggested trying a hair dryer, which I did on COOL cycle. I held it a bit away, alternated pointing it toward each opening, and did that for about 15 minutes or so. I then put it back on the dock, charged it, and synced it. While on the Dock, it would go on and off, ask if I wanted to power off, but I synced everything, left it on the dock charging until it was full and now ... it's fine.
    I should have powered it off right away; dodged a bullet there; but I believe the hair dryer, on cool, for a steady period of time helped speed up getting the moisture out, as opposed to letting it sit for a week drying naturally.
    Everything is working. Whew!! It won't be going in that room with me again!
    Will post again if anything changes.

  • Need to hard code field with F11 in Order Organizer

    When querying (F11-ing) in Order Organizer, we need to have the Order Type field defaulting to a value so that users cannot select any other value.
    The reason is different orgs under the same OU have different Order Types & a user specific to an Inv Org would be forced to query only with the Order Type when F11-ing in Order Organizer.
    This requirement is only when querying because when entering a Sales Order, the correct Order Type defaults from a defaulting rule.
    Thanks in advance,
    Sanjib.

    Actually i have given the Mandatory fields as input. So when I test the process in the EM Console i need to fill the mandatory fields. Once i fill the mandatory fields and Test the Service i will invoke a WSDL file that will close the Tasks in the BPM Worklist. If I dont give the mandatory fields it will throw a error. Now what I need is that I Dont want to enter the values for some mandatory fields, instead i need to pass it as a hardcoded value. So that i need not to type the values of that fields during testing.

  • Hard code a value in a characteristic of an Infoset

    Dear BI Experts,
    I need a view (virtual - no data loaded) to show only certain fields out of a Cube. I am trying to create an Infoset bringing in only the cube as a data source (no 2nd data source in the Infoset). In this Infoset I want to hard code a value for one of the fileds, so that I get data relevant for this value.
    Best example would be country grouping. I have a cube which has data for all coutry grouping. I want to now create a view for only Coutry grouping = US.
    How do I hard code in the view(Infoset) to say that show data only for US.
    My ultimate aim is to enable Functional users to create a report in Query designer pulling data from the view created and they do not want to hard code the country grouping = US while crerating the report.
    Could you also recommend any other way of doing this instead of by an Infoset.
    Kindly keep it in mind that we do not want to store this data set in another cube or DSO because this will duplicate data in BI system. We want a virtual view.
    Thank you in advance.
    Sai

    I agree with the other contributor that an Infoset is not the best fit for your requirements.
    In addition to the aforementioned here are the two options I suggest:
    1) You could handle this in BEX Query Designer and setup Pre-Queries (replacement path queries) for each "hard coded" value. http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sem40bw/helpdata/EN/2c/78a03c1178ad2ce10000000a114084/frameset.htm
    2) You can set up Virtual Infocubes with Services (Virtual Provider). This involves setting up the Virtual Infocube directly with the original data source and creating custom restrictions for your data. There is however there is more involved in setting it up.

  • Error Installing SQL Server Express 2008: '' is not a valid login or you do not have permission.

    I have tried installing SQL Server 2008 multiple times on my machine, and I always receive this error about 3/4 of the way through: '' is not a valid login or you do not have permission.
    I have tried installing both SQL Server Express 2008 with Tools and SQL Server Express 2008 with Advanced Services, and they both fail the same way. I am trying to do a new stand-alone installation.
    I'm running Windows XP Home Edition SP3.
    Looking into the error, some forums say I have to install it from THE Administrator account, and not an account with administrator permissions; it also cannot be in Safe Mode, because then the Windows Installer won't work. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to login to the Administrator account. I can go to the home login screen, do ctrl+alt+del twice, and attempt to login to the Administrator account, but I receive this error: Unable to Log You on because of an Account Restriction.
    Other forums say that in the Server Configuration section, all you have to do is provide the username and a strong password from an administrative account on the computer, and it doesn't have to be THE Administrator. Well, I did that, but for some reason it doesn't recognize my username and password, it says something like "The credentials you provided for the SQL Server Agent are invalid". BUT THOSE ARE THE CORRECT CREDENTIALS FOR MY ADMINISTRATIVE USER! So I'm forced to use one of the accounts without a password, like NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM. That's the only way I can get past this step.
    Also, just FYI, on the next step, which is Database Engine Configuration, I am using Mixed Mode for the Security Mode. I AGAIN provide a password, and then add my current user (who IS an administrator on my machine!) to the SQL Server Administrators box.
    But yet, it fails every single time.
    This is pathetic and ridiculous. I must have tried to install this thing 15 times, that is not an exaggeration. I'm posting this on several other forums as well, maybe an MVP or Bill Gates himself can help me.
    I have one of the log files from a failed installation. If someone would like to see it, I will post it.

    PS : if you are talking about the Sql Server Agent Service, it is disabled for Sql Server Express. It is enabled only for the Workgroup/Standard/Dev and Entreprise Editions
    Sorry, but I've tried the suggestion in that link, and it hasn't helped me.
    For anyone wonder, the link is talking about the problem in Server Configuration where I enter my Windows user account and password (which is in the Administrative group), but it says the credentials are invalid.  The link suggests that you need to either enter your Windows account (which I did, and it wouldn't let me go to the next step), or to use one of the built in accounts (which I also tried, but it gave me the " '' is not a valid login" error during the installation).
    Any other ideas?
    I haven't had any answers from any other forums either, so I'll just post my log file in case anyone wants to look at this:

    Hi,
    Example for Data Binding of the DropDownByIndex UI Element:
    Procedure at design time:
           1.      Create a view with the name TestView.
           2.      Insert the DropDownByIndex UI element as a container child of the TestView view. (Step 1)
           3.      Create the context structure, as described in step 2.
    Create the context node X with the cardinality 0..n. Insert the value attribute y of the type String into this node. Then perform the data binding of the DropDownByIndex UI element in the Properties window of the View Designer. The texts property must be bound to the value attribute y with the context path description TestView.X.y (step 3).
    The context path TestView.X.y describes the attribute y in the context node X of the view context of the TestView view.
    You can fill the context with test data using the following controller implementation.
    public void wdDoInit()
        //@@begin wdDoInit()
       String[] letters = new String []
       {"A", "B", "C", "D"};
    //Create context elements for the node "X"
       List nodeElements = new ArrayList();
       for (int i =  0; i <letters.length; ++i)
          IPrivateTestView.IXElement xElement = wdContext.createXElement();
          xElement.setY(letters<i>);
          nodeElements.add(xElement);
    //Bind node element list to the node
       wdContext.nodeX().bind(nodeElements);
    //Set node’s lead selection which determines the selected item
       wdContext.nodeX().setLeadSelection(1);
        //@@end

    If you bought your subscription direct from Adobe, you should not need any codes, only your Adobe ID and password
    -Cloud programs do not use serial numbers... you log in to your paid Cloud account to download & install & activate... you MAY need to log out of the Cloud and restart your computer and log back in to the Cloud for things to work
