Link colors refuse to stay the color I tell them to be

Hello,
I have taught myself how to build this website. I'm an amateur, however I know the basics of dreamweaver CS3 whgich has gotten my by. My website is www.dieseljunkies.ca. The first thing I did was change the page properties so that all text links appear bold (which they do) and stay the same colour as the the main font #595033. However, they still apear blue before visiting purple after and it looks very ugly on the site. An example would be in the main content section of the home page and in the footer.
I have only found forums telling me to do the most basic things like edit the page properties. I HAVE already done that. If you view the source, you will see. Please help!

To simplify your CSS you might consider using just this -
a {
    text-decoration: none;
    color: #595033;
    font-weight: bold;
since all of your link pseudo-classes are the same.

Metadata Columns will not stay the way I order them

I have PPro CS6 and cannot get the Metadata columns or their off/on status to stay the way I want them. I've tried saving my settings to a custom name and find that using it to try and restore my settings does nothing, at least not in terms of the order I want the columns to be. Also, should the Metadata panel settings change when I change Workspaces? Am I doing something wrong? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Many thanks for your very clear explanation of how this works. After posting I played around some more and I began to see a pattern which pointed to what you've written.
I'll have to experiment with some scenarios to make sure I understand this more fully. I was getting pretty frustrated.
None of the training I've done explains this beyond the most basic level, but as I'm discovering, there are many little "gotchas" which most training simply glosses over. Having said that, I do enjoy the challenges... keeps me on my toes. PPro is one hell of a product, and I use it as an amateur for my own personal stuff.

PDF links work on only half the computers that open them??

Ok, I created a PDF Flyer that has two links. I created the file in InDesign, exported to PDF (and yes I clicked the "Export hyperlinks" checked box), and when I opened it on my computer, it worked like it should. I emailed it to the person who asked to me create it and when she clicked on the links, nothing happened. She tried it like 6 times and finally the link worked and the wepage opened. But then she tried it again and the link didn't work and went back to do nothing. We emailed it to another person in our office and the link, like on my computer worked every time we clicked it. Then we emailed it to another person and the links didn't work at all.....not even once. We emailed it to a couple of more people and the results were the same.
My question is: How come the links are working on some computers and not on others. I am using Acrobat 8.0, everyone else is using 7.0...at first I thought that mattered until I realized that half the people that can open it were using 7.0...I thought it had something to do with our internet settings, but for some reason, this PDF is the exception, I have emailed linked PDFs to this person before and she's never had a problem (and she definately hasn't changed a setting in IE)...
So I am just a little confused. I have created countless linked PDFs and this is the first time I have seen this.

I don't think that going from AA8 to AA7 should be a problem for the links, but just in case use either Reduce File Size or PDF Optimize to save the file to AA7 compatibility.

Why won't websites I visit stay the way I set them up when I use Firefox?

As an example: When I go to MSNBC I set the number of articles for different subjects and they revert to default every time I open firefox. This does not happen with IE. Another is I have to log in to get to my hotmail & Gmail account every time I re-enter the browser. Please help .

You have accidentally told Firefox not to remember cookies, or to refuse them.
Cookies are small text files that websites use to store information used by them, such as your session ID (so you can "remember" sessions), a tracking ID (used by ad platforms to offer you personalised advertisements), or simply few preferences websites have.
This cookies are sometimes abusive (for example, the tracking IDs), so some users may want to disable them.
In order to tell Firefox to allow cookies again, go to Firefox/Options (Edit/Preferences), privacy tab and choose Firefox will: "Remember history" in the combo box.
If you tried to disable browser history, that's the reason for which you have this problem. In that case you want firefox not to remember your browsing history, choose Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history" and uncheck "Always use private browsing mode" and "Clear history when Firefox closes" and check the "Accept cookies from websites" checkbox.

I use a macbook pro retina. before i upgraded to maverick my windows stayed the way i put them. now after upgrade i have to resize every time i change the window. i use a 32in. monitor and use it full screen.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click Log in.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

(logic express 8) My controller assignmets are completely wrong, they wont map to the tracks I tell them to

Im trying to map the faders and knobs on my uc-33 to a template with 3 audio tracks and 4 software instrument tracks, the output 1-2 and the master. each track has 2 sends which im also trying to map to the top two rows of knobs.
sometimes it works fine, and for a glorious few minutes my mappings are good.
then it goes wrong:
all of a sudden my first uc33 fader moves my fourth logic fader, or my first uc33 panning knob moves the second logic panning knob, or some variation of this. the assignments stay consistent in terms of order, but shifted. As if the whole set is shifted right. usually the output and master assignments dont screw up, just the audio & SWI tracks. if my first hardware uc33 fader shifts to my second logic fader then the first hardware fader will control nothing. if i assign all the faders and knobs to channel levels, pans, and busses they will all shift together.
I am doing this all in expert mode. my classes are all "channel strip" and under the "channel strip" menu i have tried both the "fader bank" setting and the "Audio" or "Software Instrument" respectively.
MY uc-33 is on global channel 1, my mpd24 is on gc 2, korg triton le on gc 3, and a korg microX on gc 4. I wont to use them all for different things, but i cant even get my <no zone> mixer assignments to work!
I can see no reason why this would happen, what could I have possibly done? is my program just glitching?

Send 1 & 2 unfortunately my effects processor is stereo and the Sends/Return 1 is mono. Ideally I'd be willing to give up my Return 2 as the other half of the stereo return... but I can't figure out how to route any of this.
I've found several references that say it's possible to setup external effect processors using my Firestudio Project but everytime I try to configure this using the mixer/aux/send functions within Logic it does not work.
My problem is that I need to use external sound effects for our live mixes to avoid the latency problems when applying live internal effects to our vocal tracks.
Your advice on this issue would be much appreciated.

Visited links using Safari on my iPad 2 won't stay the "visited" color

Visited links using Safari on my iPad 2 won't stay the "visited" color after I close the tab, put the iPad in sleep mode (or whatever it's called), or when I power off the iPad.
There are certain sites I visit where it comes in very handy to be able to see which links I've already clicked on. The links will stay the "visited" color during the time I'm on the site, but later they all go back to the "unvisited" color.
Is there any way I can fix this on an iPad?

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

I'm trying to get my type to stay the same color and style each time I start a new email to send to someone. I can set it each time I start a new message, but I want it to stay the same automatically when I open it up. Is that possible to do in mail?

I have had this problem.
It seems that iChat is more sensitive to small breaks in the network link. Web Browsers and Mail just don't show them as they make new connections each time they download mail or change pages.
If wireless try it wired for elimination purposes.
Check the time any DHCP server renews the leases.

How to change the Hyper links color in the XML form

HI SDNs
Do u have any idea how to change the hyperlink color in the xml form. My requirement is as follows.I have created xml form by using xml template and i displayed this xml form by using Km document iview. I need tochange the hyper link color in the xml form content. I dont want to go for manual process by editing the xml form. because i have several hundreds of xml forms.

Hi Ramana,
The most convenient way to change the hyper links is by using the Theme Editor. Go to System Administration --> Portal Display --> Select Theme --> Component-Specific Styles --> Links --> Function/Result Link.

Hi Maik,
You can do something like the following:
In the region's Region Header for the report, add in:
<style>
.customlink:hover {color:red}
.customlink:active {color:yellow}
.customlink:link {color:purple}
.customlink:visited {color:green}
</style>
You can change "customlink" to whatever name you like and, obviously, pick your own colours.
Then in your SQL statement, add in a field that returns a stylename:
select field1,
field2,
CASE WHEN (test) THEN 'customlink' ELSE '' END STYLENAME,
etc
from etc
Then, in the link, in "Link Attributes", add in classname='#STYLENAME#'

Link Color not changing for Visited Pages - How do I set the Color?

In earlier versions of Safari, the user could select the color used to display links that have already been visited. I can't find that option in Preferences anymore. Some visited links do show a different color, some don't. Is it just random? How do I set the color in Safari 4.0.4 and activate the behavior?

Nothing has changed. A stylesheet is still a stylesheet. And pseudo-classes are still pseudo-classes.
You need to define a set of link states (link, visted, hover, active) for each ID or class name required.
Let's say you want to have red links in your #header and white links in your #footer.

How can I change the link color css in one module but not the whole site?

I have a site built in muse but using modules from BC. I changed the link color in the css for the online store and blog but of course it is applying it to everypage. Is there a way to change the link color in an individual BC module instead of the whole site.? I'm new to CSS obviously.

I don't think you can do it right in Muse but you can easily if you have access to the code of the page and the css file.
You need to create a css class something like:
.secondLink a { /* secondLink can be any class name, I just chose that randomly
color: #990000; /* of course substitute your color code in there
Then in your code add:
class="secondLink"
to your link's <a> tag. This will give any links with the class of secondLink the color assigned. Hope that helps get you started.

Why does the visited link color change not work on some pages. this has only occurred in the past few weeks. 2 different computers Win 7 home pm Firefox 29

On some sites the visited link color does not change. I have checked all settings and they have not changed. I can make the problem change by unchecking the "allow pages to choose thier own colors" box , but the some pages do not display correctly. Things worked fine up to a few weeks ago. I feel it may be a glitch in firefox 29.

Can you try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to see if Firefox works properly with no error? You can start Firefox in Safe Mode below:

If Firefox opens up fine with no problems, it's probably one of your extensions that's causing the issue. You can re-enable your add-ons one by one until you find the one that causes the issue upon being re-enabled.
You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

Will the Color Stay the Same?

I exported a video I finished and when I played it on QuickTime the color was messed up, but I realized I had to enable Final Cut Studio Color compatibility and then it was fine. I'm entering the video to a film festival and I want to make sure if I submit the video on a mini-Dv the color will stay the same as FCP and not as QuickTime without Final Cut Studio Color compatibility enabled. Short answer, No.
Not in regards to true accuracy. The only way to get a true accurate representation is to view the footage on a broadcast monitor. Plasmas are designed to make the footage look as nice a possible, by adding a lot of contrast, brightness and usually warmth to the image. It will look nice - but that is not necessarily accurate. Unless you feel like tinkering in the custom setup menu with various tools to try to adjust the picture or forking over the dough for a studio plasma = $$$$$
