Link from BPF task to external url

Hi,
Is it possible to link to an external url from a BPF step? I have tried embedding in the content library, but the resolution is adequate.
Many thanks,
Andy

Hi Andy,
From BPF, we cant open an external link. You can upload a link on content library and the content library can be opened through the BPF.
Hope this helps.

  • h:link / h:button - navigate to external URL's

    Hi all,
Does anybody know if it's possible to use the new JSF 2.0 tags <h:link> and <h:button> to navigate to URL's outside the current application context?
    Thank you very much!!
    J.

That's one of those things I 'tried' - without success.
According to the spec, the outcome attribute refers to "+The logical outcome used to resolve a navigation case.+", which is not exactly an external URL neither.
Does that work in your environment?
    Thx

  • Remove attachment link from standard task

I want to get rid of the attachment for a standard task TS90100038 - Approve trip. In our scenario we want PDF instead of the transaction screen. I am able to pull PDF but, Its showing up two attachments on the task. I am not able to get rid of the attachment that points to PR04.

    hi,
1)You can also delete it whenever you fetch it in your task remove binding of attachobject container from method to task or task to WF contaier as per your Requirement this will help you.
2)or you can create custom BO of supertype your current Standard BO using SWO1 and then made custom method using existing Std. method and remove that stmt. which attach that document which you don't want.
    Hope magic Works!

  • Submit form to external url

    Hi,
I'm trying to submit a form from HTMLDB to an external url. I've tried using the buttons (both in a region position and not), but can't seem to get this to work. I don't want to redirect. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to do this?
Linking to an external url is no problem, the problem here is getting the form to submit to the external url. Any help would be appreciated!

I need to clarify what we're trying to do. I have an app built with HTMLDB that is used by people in our company to view/edit customer data. We also have a support website that our customers can log into to view their status, complete certain tasks, etc. We want to be able to submit a page in the HTMLDB app to the support website. That way our customer service reps can click on a link from within the HTMLDB app and be automatically logged into our support site as that customer. (assuming they are looking at that customer's record) The problem i'm having is getting the page to submit. I've tried creating a custom button, but for it to go to a separate url it wants to do a redirect (which is not what we want). Is there a way we can submit the form on an HTML DB page to an external app?

  • Link to external URL from flash site

Is there any way to link to an external URL from your flash
site without having the flashplayer prompt you to change your
settings and allow access to that page? (this only applies to swfs
    viewed through a browser)
the only way around this i've found isn't very useful - you
have to put a small xml file on the host server where the page you
want to link to is located. i seriously doubt every site you want
to link to will allow you to put an xml file on their host server
just so you can link to their page. the code in the xml file just
tells flashplayer that the site you are trying to access is safe.
    it's called crossdomain.xml
    anyone have an answer?
    thanks!

    Answer
no it doesn't. getURL() causes no security issues unless you
try to open the html locally and (try to) access something on the
    internet.
unless your "flash site" is your local computer there is no
security issue. if your local computer is an internet server, you
just need to set the security settings for your local file and give
it permission to access the internet zone.

  • Linking to external URL using POST from a button in APEX

    APEX Experts
Does anyone know how to link to an external URL using POST rather than GET behind an APEX button? I'm pretty sure there must be a javascript call but I'm a real newbie to both APEX and Javascript.
Also does anyone know why APEX decodes an encoded URL before sending it out and how to stop it?
    Thanks
    Deborah

I did something similar recently but it was in .NET.
Hopefully someone else here can help you do with Apex and Oracle. I am new to both.
To POST instead of GET is not as easy as it sounds.
What I did was open a new window where I outputted a dynamically created form. I would think that you would do that by using the pl/sql web toolkit to call a procedure and output the form using htp.p. You may also be able to do it with Apex (I think they are built using the same tech).
Basically, your proc would look something like this:
    htp.p('<html><head>');
    htp.p('</head><body onload="document.FORM.submit();">');
    htp.p('<form name="FORM" method="POST" action="www.UrlToPostTo.com" >');
    htp.p('<input name="PostVar" type="hidden" value="' || MyValueToPost || '">');
    htp.p('</form></body></html>');
So, it creates a html page with a form. When the page loads, it runs the javascript to submit the form to the other site. You can add in as many post items as you need. I marked them as hidden so that the user only sees a blank page briefly before the form is submitted.
I am sure there is more to it than that, but it gives the general outline of how to post to another site dynamically. Hopefully someone else can fill in the rest.

  • Link Webi Report to External URL using URL contained in Dim Object

I am trying to create a link in my WebI report to an external URL which is stored in a Dimension object.
The object is simply a string format which contains a link to a Lotus Notes database
    Example:
    Notes:///CA2573920000079B/0B4D8972EDD5DE7CCA257109000682B7/32250ACFEAF2B80FCA2573AB00831255
When I put the link into Internet Explorer I get the appropriate Lotus Notes databse, however, when trying the same in WebI using the following formula:
    ="<a href=[Notes url1] target='_blank'>Test</a>"
I get the following URL when clicking the link from InfoView
    http://auyhoz04.an.orica.net:8080/businessobjects/enterprise115/desktoplaunch/viewers/cdz_adv/[Notes%20url1]
If I hardcode the URL into WebI
    ="<a href='Notes:///CA2573920000079B/0B4D8972EDD5DE7CCA257109000682B7/32250ACFEAF2B80FCA2573AB00831255' target='_blank'>Test</a>"
    It works without a problem.
I'm sure I'm missing something simple...is anyone able to help?

    Nathan,
When you build a URL on the fly it requires a certain way to encapsulate everything.  Here is another way for you to try it:
    ="<a href="+Char(34)+[Notes url1]+" target='_blank'>Test"+Char(34)+"</a>"
Plz note the use of Char(34) which generates a double-quote.  This method should help you with getting a dynamic product delivered to your audience.
    Thanks,
    John

  • Browser enabled InfoPath form not opening in browser from a link in a Task list

I have a browser enabled InfoPath deployed to SharePoint as a template in a Forms Library. The form opens in the browser when a user navigates to the Form library and clicks New.
There is an Approval workflow associated with this form which kicks in whenever a new Form is submitted. The workflow creates a task in a task list. The task list shows a Link column which provides the link to open the form. Now, when a user clicks on the
link (in the Task list), the form always open in InfoPath instead of opening in a browser.
I see that the URL for the form (http://<Server>/Training/Enrollment%20Forms/<FormName>.xml)  is same in both the Forms Library and Task list link.
What am I doing wrong or what do I need to do to make the form open in browser from the Task list link.
    Thanks
    Rajat

This question is asked constantly - we just discussed this last week, I believe - so you can probably find a lot more discussion to help you out if yous earch within this form or browse through the topics.  The reason for your issue is because of
what you just wrote - the URL is directly to the XML file, so it tries to invoke InfoPath.  Browser forms are rendered by Forms Services, which has a much different URL.  Go click on one of your existing forms, and notice how different the URL is.
To get forms to open in the browser when invoked from a different location, you must use this full Forms Services URL.  Built-in workflows only generate a link to the XML file, and since the task in a different list than the form, then it has no idea
how to open the form in the browser.  Only users who don't have InfoPath installed will see it in the browser automatically.  This is why I generate my own URLs dynamically with custom workflows and don't use OOTB workflows.SharePoint Architect || Microsoft MVP ||

  • JSF pages to display content from external URLs

    Hi,
Is it possible for a JSF page that uses ADF controls, and the PanelPage component to provide menuing, etc. to actually allow a HTML page (accessed via a URL to an external site/application) to be displayed in an area within the JSF page?
For example, clicking a menu item to an external HTML page results in the page being displayed in a Frame or similar within the JSF page?
I've tried the FrameBorderLayout control and Frame control to try to embed a Frame to display such a page via the target setting for a menu item, but that doesn't seem to work. At least not when within a PanelPage. It works within a basic JSP page.
I would have thought it would be possible for a JSF application to incorporate HTML content from other sites/servers as if part of the application. Even if this meant defining "wrapper" pages of some sort to effectively link these into the JSF application as part of it's navigation rules.
    Or am I missing something?
    Gene

    Thanks,
Yes, using an iFrame tag within a verbatim tag worked, allowing me to specify an external URL to a page which is then displayed at the location where I placed the verbatim tag. I need to investigate sizing/border settings, but at least I now seem to be able to embed such pages.
    This works.
I tried jsp:include as well, but that only seems to allow relative URLs to pages that a part of the application. And using the c:import JSTL tag would import a page at an external URL, but didn't seem to position it where I wanted it.
