    Hi,
    This type of question is almost impossible to answer over a forum .
    You need to work with your business to understand what these requirements mean in terms of data modelling and relationships between object entities.
    - Some of these metrics should be delegated to source, and calculated in the update routines to your datatargets (aka Cubes/Tables)
    - Others could be resolved in the semantic layer (Universe)
    - Other will be calculated in the presentation layer as local formulae or variables.
    whilst BusinessObjects is a fairly intuitive tool, it may be unreasonble to expect a new learner to deliver an advanced report with conditional formatting.

  • Does anyone have a report using cfdocument that produces a ledger type report with column headings?

    I need to see some sample source code of a report with column headings and detail data.  I can't get my column titles in the header to line up with the detail no matter what I do.  Can anyone spare me a good sample?
    I have tried to use tables to specify both col headings and detail, but no chance to get them to line up.  There has to be a way.  I can't use the report builder because I need more control of when page breaks print, what data is on each line, etc.  Hopefully some kind soul out there has a good sample.
    Thanks!

    Your MBP is actually a mid-2010, not a 2008. That's what the 6,2 model indicates.There's an issue with the graphics module on that machine. There was a program in place to replace the motherboard within 3 years of purchase, but you're probably outside of that. Some folks have supposedly gotten theirs changed outside of that period, so you can try.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4088?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
    What you can do to use it is download gfxstatus from http:gfx.io and force the graphics to Intel. That would affect your work with Final Cut, but at least you might be able to use the machine.

  • Link to interactive report with filters

    I want to put a link to a page with an interactive report. But the link should setup a filter for the interactive report.
    For example, if I'm looking at a client, I want a link that sends me to the activity reports, but filtered to show only that client already.
    Is there a way to do that?
    Thanks

    Hello,
    Set a parameter IR_<COLUMN_NAME_IN_IR> to #<COLUMN_NAME_IN_LINK>#
    Example : Set IR_ORDER_ID to #ORDER_ID#
    or for you
    Set IR_CUSTOMER_ID to #CUSTOMER_ID#
    (Of course you have to change the column names)

  • Go URL linking between two reports with no relation

    Hi Experts,
    Sorry this question may have been asked numerous times, but I was not able to fetch the required response.
    I have two reports Repor1 based on Table 1 having columns A and B, Report2 based on Table2 having columns C and D.
    First is it possible to create a go URL moving between two reports based on tables having no replationship between them?
    My requirement is to create a hyperlink on column B in Report1 so that when a user clicks on the hyperlink it takes you to report2 and filters report2 column C using values of Table1 coulmn A. Table1 and Table2 have no relationship between them.
    Thanks in advance,
    Anura

    I had two columns in my report1 first being market and second being a measure value, i provided the following link in the formula for my measure value and made that as HTML data format, my Report2 contains the market column with one more additional coloumn and i want my second report to be filtered based on Market value in Report1.
    I don't know why but the URL that is being displayed here is not the actual url, please click on the URL to knowthe complete url that I mentioned for the formula
    '’||CAST(Sales Measures.Dollars AS CHAR)||’'
    The value of Market.Region is not being passed correctly as my Report2 gives the following message in the results view when i move from Report1 to Report2 via the hyperlink
    Region is equal to '||Markets.Region||'style="text-decoration:none;
    Please suggest what is going wrong?

  • Report with columns - totals in column at far right

    Hi All,
    A user would like to see a report in this type of format:
        Total Shift 1       Total Shift 2     Total Rpt Info
    But not as simple as this.  Meaning the data in the last column is not a total of shift 1 and shift 2, but different total information. Anyway, I have to be able to get back to a prior line number to do this.  Is there a way to do this other than write statements and creating strange internal tables that would hold all the literals and values that need to be output? Like this:
    itab
    record 1 = line 1
    field 1 - shift 1 labels
    field 2 - shift 1 data
    field 3 - shift 2 labels
    field 4 - shift 2 data
    field 5 - total labels
    field 6 - total data
    Is there a better way to do this? This would be extremely tedious.

    Hi Janet,
    from your posting it is not obvious what your list is to look like.
    anyway I'd recommend to construct an internal table with a structured row.
    Then fill the records with the data. The last step should be the calculation of results for the last column. You could do that depending on a field in  this row.
    For instance, have a 'formula' column where you put a subroutines name. The subroutine calculates the last columns value taking into account whatever rows and columns necessary.
    i.e.
    loop at valuetab.
    perform (valuetab-formula).
    endloop.
    in the 'formula' subroutine you may read other table lines and columns.
    Output should be done using ALV display. If you are a starter, use Function REUSE_ALV_LIST_DISPLAY or REUSE_ALV_GRID_DISPLAY.
    Good luck,
    Clemens

  • Dynamic link in a report with confirmation popup and plsql call

    Hi all
    I have a table T1 with Name, City, Status.
    I create a report in an html region with a query to obtain Name and City and for each record with status = '5' a link with "Remove" label.
    To generate the link I need to use a Case so the link will be present only for some records (status = '5').
    Then I want to use a dynamic action with "Confirm" to show a confirmation pop up and an "Execute PL/SQL Code" to remove the record with a simple delete command.
    My question: how should I write the link in the case statement to call the dynamic action in my form?
    Thanks,
    Massimo

    Hi Tauceef,
    im trying to use your solution in this way
    The report is
    ,case when min(status) = 'New'
         then '<a href="---URL---"><img src="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#Trash.ico" alt="Delete"></a>'
         else '<img src="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#Banned.ico" alt="-">'
    end col_name,where ---URL--- is javascript:Delete('||myTable.ROW_ID||');
    The javascript is
    function Delete(parID) {
      document.getElementById('P30_SELECTED_ROW_ID').value = parID;
      if (confirm('are you sure?')) {
        doSubmit('DELETE');
    };The PL/SQL anonymous block is
    DECLARE
    parId number;
    BEGIN
    parId:=:P30_SELECTED_ROW_ID;
    PKG_myPack.test(parId);
    -- delete from myTable where row_id = :P30_SELECTED_ROW_ID;
    -- :P30_SELECTED_ROW_ID := null;
    END;As you can see i first try to execute my simple delete but not work, then i create a test procedure to inspect the item value and i realize that it has no value. I show the item on the page and afer selection it still remain null.
    My qyestions are:
    - which is the correct Process Point to set for the PL/SQL anonymous block?
    - which is the correct syntax to refer to the item ? (:P30_SELECTED_ROW_ID, &:P30_SELECTED_ROW_ID. or v('...'))
    Im sorry for the length of the request and i hope you can help me.
    Best regards.
    Alex

  • Link to interactive report with filter values containing : or %

    Hi,
    I have an application written in PL/SQL. The application takes input from users, and then constructs a URL for an interactive report, concatenating the user input as filter values for the report. Sometimes, the input values contain characters such as the colon (:) or the percent sign (%). In these instances, APEX appears to ignore the rest of the URL beyond the first colon or percent sign in the filter values. For example, in the following URL, the first filter value is "Oracle Database 11g: Workshop I":
    http://abc.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=129:8::::8,CIR:IRC_TITLE,IR_PROJECT_STATUS:Oracle Database 11g: Workshop I,Completed
    The Interactive Report displayed for this URL shows all courses whose title contains "Oracle Database 11g" -- in other words, more records are displayed than should have been if the complete set of filters were applied in the query (i.e., TITLE = Oracle Database 11g: Workshop I, and PROJECTS_STATUS = Completed).
    How should I construct the URL so that the colons (:) and percent signs (%) which may be part of the filter values are treated correctly?
    Thanks,
    Jenny

    Thanks to Joel Kallman, here's the answer:
    The ‘f’ procedure has a parameter named p_sep. This is the separator used for the arguments in the ‘p’ parameter in the call to the ‘f’ procedure. The default value for this separator is ‘:’, obviously.
    If you have data values that contain the separator, then you can use a different character for your separator (you may need to manually specify the URL instead of using the declarative link attributes of a column in a report).
    Using the pipe symbol ‘|’, I was able to take:
    http://st-curr.us.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=129:8::::8,CIR:IRC_ROWFILTER:Database 11g: Administration Workshop I
    and change it to:
    http://st-curr.us.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=129|8||||8,CIR|IRC_ROWFILTER|Database 11g: Administration Workshop I&p_sep=|
    which now works.

  • ALV report with dynamic columns, and repeated structure rows

    Hey Guys,
    I've done some ALV programming, but most of the reports were straight forward. This one is a little interesting. So here go the questions...
    Q1: Regarding Columns:
    What is the best way to code a report with columns being dynamic. This is one of the parameters the user is going to enter in his input.
    Q2: Regarding Rows:
    I want to repeat a structure(say it contains f1, f2, f3) multiple time in rows. What is the best way to do it? The labels for these fields have to appear in the first column.
    Below is the visual representation of the questions.

  • SQL report link to another report

    Hello,
    I am using Apex 4 and trying to link an sql report with another report. If I were able to use an interactive report I could easily link that to another page, but that would require me to have a primary key. The problem is that I need to link a few tables. So two questions:
    1.) Can I link these via an HTML link to my other page? I would have a HTML link in my report that would link via URL parameter passing. So can I use HTML in a report?
    2.) What is the syntax for a parameter passing via URL? Here is my link that would be:
    a href= f?p=107:40:&APP_SESSION::::P40_NAME:MARK: Are there any other ways to accomplish this?
    Thanks,

    I am using Apex 4 and trying to link an sql report with another report. If I were able to use an interactive report I could easily link that to another page
    It's easy in standard reports< /a>. (Ignore the "Interactive Report" typo in step 1.)
    1.) Can I link these via an HTML link to my other page? I would have a HTML link in my report that would link via URL parameter passing. So can I use HTML in a report?You can, but it's better practice to keep data retrieval and HTML structure separate when possible&mdash;in this case by using declarative Column Links.
    2.) What is the syntax for a parameter passing via URL?This is also covered in the documentation.
    Here is my link that would be: a href= f?p=107:40:&APP_SESSION::::P40_NAME:MARK:
    {quote}
    That looks to have the order of the parameters correct, but it's missing some syntax:<a href="f?p=107:40:&APP_SESSION.::::P40_NAME:MARK">...</a>
    The static text exact substitution method of referencing the value of an APEX item requires a terminating dot ("."): <tt>&APP_SESSION.</tt>

  • Report with Prompt on Home Page

    I have created a report with column prompt. I have also included this report in 'My Home Page custom report'. But when i access 'My Home Page' i dont see the Prompt, i only see the report with all columns & data. Have i skipped some step to include prompt on home page ? Thx for help

    Hi,
    When we display a report on the homepage, the Prompt is not shown instead a link will shown in place of the report stating 'Click here to Generated Analysis'.
    Even though you have the prompt on the report it will not show on the homepage, as homepage reports are usually detailed report.
    You can add filter instead of using a prompt on the report.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • Link in a report

    Hello,
    I want to create a link in a report with a html expression. But I don´t know who.
    I want to create a link to a page in the application. I don´t really know the syntax..
    <a href="#f?p=' || &APP_ID. || ':4:' || &SESSION. || ">' || link|| '</a>
    That doesn't work.

    What do you mean by "format the link"? Do you want to apply a certain style to it? Or do you just want to customize the text that appears as the link text?
    And what do you mean by "...I want to use a html expression"? Obviously you have something very specific in mind but it is not so clear to those that are reading your post. Please be very specific about what you want to acheive and someone will surely be able to help.
    Earl
