Link on Jpeg

I have a jpeg of a button . I want to put  text on it and then add a link and make it so it has change of text color on mouseover.
I have tried every way I know of put can not get it to work
THXS for the help
Steve

There are several ways to do this.  IMO a CSS styled button is the most flexible.  Even if text size is increased in browser, it won't overflow the boundaries of a static background image.
CSS:
/**CSS BUTTON**/
.button a {
text-decoration: none;
background:#A77226;
border: 5px outset #FFD400;
padding: 8px;
color: #FFF;
font-size: 1.2em;
font-variant:small-caps;
font-weight: bold;
font-style: italic;
line-height: 1.5em;
text-align: center;
margin: 2em auto;
display: block;
width: 8em;
/**mouseover and focus states**/
.button a:hover,
.button a:active,
.button a:focus {
border: 5px inset #FFD400;
text-decoration: underline;
HTML:
<p class="button">
<a href="#"> CSS STYLED BUTTON </a></p>

  • Script for changing tif links to jpeg

    Hi,
    I have a file linked to a bunch of tifs. I've run a script in PS converting those images to jpeg. I could manually change each link, but I'd much rather use a script to go through my doc and convert my link urls from *.tif to *.jpg
    Has anyone come across a script for this? and if not, I can build one, but I'm having trouble finding the InDesign Scripting Reference pdf. Can someone point me in the direction?
    Thanks,
    Stan

    I attached a new version of the script, but I haven't properly tested it yet.
    Is there a repository of InDesign scripts online somewhere? if there isn't there oughtta be....
    Here is Scriptopedia by Loik.
    I started a new page on my site where I want to post scripts for download and links to scripts on other sites, sorted by categories.
    There are loads of scripts on InDesign Exchange, but some of them are quite outdated — it takes ages to post scripts there.

    Hello Andy,
    you are welcome. What concerns the difference between html and php you could use Google to get more informations about. Here a link to some websites I have in my notebook  (you can translate the German wiki with Google too):

  • AS: InDesign CS4: Missing links do not show path anymore?

    Hiya! Preparing to move to InDesign CS4, and opened a document where the links were missing. In CS2 with AS you could still get the old path to where the link was pointed to, but now if the link is missing AS returns "". ?? I can still get the file name, but that is fairly useless..
    I know the path is still retained somewhere, because the link pallet UI in InDesign shows path, and the path is there...
    Anyone have any ideas?

  • Match RAW to JPEG File

    Hi,
    I moved my iPhoto library to Aperture over a year ago and so far this has been an excellent move. Previously in my iPhoto library I would import RAW+JPEG. Once the import was completed in iPhoto I would export the raw to an external hard drive for archive and then remove the raw file from the iPhoto library. When I upgraded to Aperture I imported my iPhoto library as it was with the jpeg images - no raw images. What I would like to do is somehow link the jpeg files that are now in Aperture back to the RAW files that are sitting on the external hard disk as a referenced master. Is this possible or do I need to look at importing the RAW images from the external hard disk into the Aperture library and set them as referenced? I have approx 8000 images so im looking for a way to make this as painless as possible.
    Any suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Mark

    I totally agree with Rob. JPEG file size limiters should not be used unless you absolutely don't care about image quality degradation. I can't imagine what application where that would be acceptable.
    JPEG compression efficiency at any given Quality setting varies typically in the range of 5:1. Using a file size limit means the images with the least detail will be saved at very high quality setting (i.e. 90-100), and images with the most detail will be saved at much lower Quality settings (0-50). This is the exact opposite of what you want to do!
    Unless you use a large file size limit some of the exported JPEG images will probably have visible JPEG artifacting. You are better off determining your threshold of acceptability for JPEG artifacting (i.e. Quality 50-70?) Then use that Quality setting for your exports without restricting files size. The resulting "average file size" will be less than using a larger file size limit.
    Tips for further reducing files size of Exported JPEG images:
    1) Use conservative sharpening settings in the Develop and Export modules (i.e. don't over-sharpen)
    2) Use sufficient Color and Luminance Noise Reduction settings to reduce visible noise in the image.
    3) Make sure "Remove Chromatic Aberration' is checked in the Lens Corrections Color panel.
    Following the above suggestions can reduce exported JPEG file size by 50% or more, especially for high ISO raw image files.

  • Edit Original not working for PSD links

    Ok, so I just recently upgraded to CS3 from CS2 and am still getting used to some of the changes that were made. For some reason, I keep having this problem:
    In the links panel, you can click on a link and click "Edit Original" to open the file in whichever program it was created in, of course. This is a feature I use ALL THE TIME. Well, for some reason, my CS3 grays out the Edit Original icon on the links panel whenever I select a .psd link. Jpeg, fine. Eps, no sweat. Ai file, not a problem. But once I select a .psd file, the icon grays out. And this is for ALL linked .psd files.
    Anyone had this problem or know of a possible solution? I just hope it's not something dreadfully obvious...

    First thing to check: will Windows open Photoshop if you click on a file in Explorer?
    Check that you have .PSD correctly associated with Photoshop in Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > File Types

  • Dynamic link to After Effects problem

    My computer crashed a little while ago, and we had to reload the system, but no data was lost.
    The project i am working on, has every single shot dynamicly linked to After Effects.
    The links held up fine, but there is one problem, about 10 shots have some how recut them selves, and or have been shortend. The funny thing is, is that some how the audio still matches up. I cant seem to figure out how to solve this problem.
    Any help at all would be greatly appreciated,

    Just an update:
    With disc utilities I repaired the permissions.
    I reinstalled cs5 production premium.
    I updated it to the actual version (flash occured an error, but the other ones were fine)
    I opend the project: no links to most of the media.
    I relinkt all media - except the dynamic links to After Effects. That just doesn't work.
    I saved the project on a different drive with a different name.
    Opend the new project and - again - most of the files didn't link again! Missing more than 10.000 links to jpegs, psds, mxfs.
    I opend the new and the old project on another mac - same results.
    I think, repairing permissions with disc utility doesn't affect Adobe's software (Apple says that some 3rd Party Applicaton might not be affected.)
    I found a workflow for repairing permissions in the case of updating-failure, but I didn't try that, as I don't want to make things worse.
    Is there a way to repair CS5 permissions "internal"?
    Thanks in advance,

  • InDesign CS4 crashes during PDF export

    Computer is a Dell laptop that operates on Windows XP Professional. I am putting together our image- and text-heavy company newsletter. I have been able to export as Press-Quality PDF withing the past week or two. I made a change today and now get an error when I try to export to PDF (Press Quality, 4 pages, spreads, all marks, full bleeds). I've been able to isolate the problem to pages 3 & 4, since I can export pages 1 & 2 without any issue but cannot export either 3 or 4 seperately, or together in a spread. I've tried the save-as-INX-and-reopen trick to no avail. I've tried saving it onto my local drive, rather than the network drive it was on before. Still crashes at the same point.
    The error I get says that "InDesign.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost. For more information about this error, click here." And I have the option to "Debug" or "Close." When I click the "click here" link at the end of the sentence, I get a window with the following info:
    "Error Signature
    AppName: indesign.exe       AppVer:6.0.0.352      ModName:transparency.rpln
    ModVer: 6.0.0.352   Offset: 0006f14d
    To view technical information about the error report, click here."
    And if I click on that "click here" link, I get a very long  window of "Error Report Contents" that I cannot copy-paste, and would probably take me a good hour to retype here.
    Any thoughts? I do have several transparencies on page 3, and a gradient stroke on an object that spans both 3 & 4. All links have been embedded and prior to embedding showed no signs of warnings or issues. Links include JPEGs, Photoshop files, and Illustrator files.

    Finally found the troublemaker!!! You were right. I deleted all links, and it exported the PDF just fine. I went back and tried deleting single links at a time and found the one that, when deleted, everything else exported to PDF just fine. I opened that JPEG in Photoshop and cropped it to the exact size I needed, since I hadn't done this before, resaved under a new name, put it back in my InDesign file and everything just exported beautifully.
    HUUUUGE sigh of relief over here. THANK YOU!
    And next time I will bypass the wasted morning of pulling out hair and running in circles, and just come straight here.

  • Help with PDF's in Flash

    I need to make a hyper link to jpegs, and while this is easy
    enough, the images are already in a PDF doc. I would love to not
    have to go page by page and save them out as jpegs. Is it possible
    to link a hyper link to a specific page in a specific PDF ? And if
    not a hyper link is there some other way of clicking on some text
    or something and telling it to go to page 2 of Test.pdf ?
    -Thanks

    I'm totally confused - i think it is your terminology - when
    you say things like "window" - it is
    very hard to tell what you mean. "Window" can refer to so
    many different things. Then you say things
    that popup at first glance can't be seen - even more
    confusing. When you say "when I open the window
    more..." what "window" are we talking about? Are you
    previewing in a browser? Or is this inside the
    DW IDE? Or the Flash IDE?
    It's probably a very simple solution but I can't figure out
    what you are physically looking at, what
    it looks like now, and what it should look like based on your
    workflow.
    sorry - trying to help.

  • Img tag in TextField : a nightmare ?

    After reading of the documentation about Flash TextField
    class (used by Label and Text), I was expected a lot of this
    component, especially about the
    img tag.
    I spent a lot of hours trying to make it working as the doc
    says. Each time I have runtime errors.
    Using link to jpeg or png files I have Error #1034 (I comment
    a "resolve" bug in the JIRA adobe bug system).
    Then I try to embed images with a link identifier to a
    movieclip symbol (seams to be the only way to use embedded images).
    After spending a long time to understand what that was meaning
    (just ONE example should have save half day of work !!! may be the
    Adobe guy should be advised that not all the Flex developpers comes
    from Flash !), I was abled to use a swf file made with fresh
    downloaded Flash CS3.
    But that time if the first assignment to htmlText property is
    ok, when I change the value I have error #2025 (DisplayObject must
    be a child of the caller - translate from french).
    So I am quite disappointed about Flex choice today...
    I was abled to add a support for the missing <table>
    tag but I don't know how to easily rewrite a complete TextField
    which can insert images (embedded in swf).
    If anybody has success with images in TextField, let me know
    Thanks.

    I've had the same problem. Using an img tag in a dynamically
    generated text field does not work the same published for AIR as it
    does published for Flash Player. If I use a relative path for the
    image or the class name of a symbol in the library in Flash it
    works perfectly, but neither work if the same code is published for
    AIR. Is there a solution to this that anyone knows of?
    Here's an example:
    var optionFont:Font = new UniversBold();
    var optionFormat = new TextFormat();
    optionFormat.color = 0x27318b;
    optionFormat.bold = true;
    optionFormat.size = 38;
    optionFormat.font = optionFont.fontName;
    var field:TextField = new TextField();
    field.embedFonts = true;
    field.autoSize = TextFieldAutoSize.LEFT;
    field.defaultTextFormat = optionFormat;
    field.selectable = false;
    field.htmlText = "Hi There <img src='GTE38'> Hi There";
    field.wordWrap = true;
    field.width = 200;
    addChild( field );
    UniversBold and GTE38 are classes in the library. This works
    when published for Flash, but if republished for AIR, the image
    does not show up.

  • There were no results for InDesign CS5.5 crashes when exporting a PDF in OSX.

    Clean install, I created a file from scratch with embedded links to jpegs, single page pdfs, and photoshop files I created.
    This is not acceptable in released software to be going backwards like this. Can someone please tell me how to fix this?
    Thanks.

    That sounds like the problem that Larry was talking about which seems to be related to the latest release of Lion. Try holding down the Opt key when you export to bypass the dialogs. You'll find more details at http://forums.adobe.com/message/4496690#4496690

  • Project doesn't load anymore

    Hey everybody,
    I'm actually working on a mid-complex project with several afx-comps (using dynamic link) and a bunch of  Photoshop-graphics editing in Premiere. Everything worked fine until this morning. When I  started my machine, no graphical media or afx-comps load up. I tried  auto-save-files and older versions aswell. Still the same.
    I already relinked the Photoshop-datas manually, but the more serious problem is the dynamic link to After Effects or to be more accurate:
    The project doesn't load up anymore. After Effects freezes and has to be killed. Not even older versions or auto-saves. A new project works fine.

    (backup on nas via timemachine). No disc errors or hardware failures found so far.

  • Black areas are showing up as green

    Since I upgraded to Firefox V:8 some of the images show the black areas (background, shadows, and the like) as a bright green. If I change to the IE engine, the problem goes away. I've messed with disabling the add-ons, without any repeatable fix. Sometimes, disabling one of them will fix the problem, until the next day, when things are messed again(?).
    The problem seems to link to JPEG images, but I am not going to guarantee that just yet.
    http://ashleymichelew.blogspot.com/ is one place I've seen the problem.

    That can be caused by a problem with the color profile for your display monitor or color profiles embedded in images.<br />
    You can disable color management to test that.<br />
    You can set the pref gfx.color_management.mode to 0 on the about:config page to disable Color Management.<br />
    You need to close and restart Firefox to make the change effective.

  • How to make website links out of background jpeg (co-ordinate tracked clicks)

    I am an illustrator working on my website that i have drawn out by hand and scanned in to a jpeg.  it is set to fit the whole screen, and i have drawn out where i want the navigation links.  how do i get dreamweaver to use co-ordinate clicking to link my webpages together?
    any help would be much appreciated!

    First just so you know, images are a very clumsy way of creating site navigation.  Each time you add new pages to your site, you must re-craft your menus in your graphics editor which gets old in a hurry.
    Second, you can't link background images to anything as they do not exist in the HTML markup.  You would need to slice up your menu items and insert them as regular images into your HTML page.  But as I said above, image-based menus are not efficient.  You would do well to use Text links and style them with CSS.  This allows for quick editing of menus directly from DW and is web friendly for search engines, translators and screen readers.

  • How to create 2 or 3 links URL in a jpeg ?

    How to create 2 or 3 links URL in a jpeg ?
    Do i use photoshop ?
    Thank you

    Images cannot contain links. All that stuff is done in the web page source code, e.g. using image maps, interactive SVGs or JavaScripts that track coordinates and respond accordingly. You will have to use a web authoring tool like Muse or Dreamweaver to produce such stuff, but since you seem to be a complete beginner, I strongly urge you to read up at least on some basic stuff about HTML, CSS and how the web ticks in general or you'll be forever lost.
