Link Windows LIve Contacts

Hello, I just upgraded my laptop to windows 8.1
Prior to upgrade I have an access database that linked (used as read only) my windows live contacts from outlook.
Now that I have upgraded and reinstalled everything I can no longer link the windows live contacts folder in my access database.
I do recall having to install a fix or add-in that allowed this but cannot locate.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Note: I can link standard contacts folder. Maybe there is a way to sync a standard contacts folder with windows live contacts.
not using business contact manager please

  • After attempting to sync my iphone contacts with my windows live contact i now have no contacts showing on my iphone

i was messing about with my itunes contacts and attempted to sync all my windows live contacts  with my iphone, i dont know what setting i have changed but i now have no contacts showing on my iphone, i have tried to restore my iphone but this failed.
    Cheers for your Help!

The sync process for contact info and calendar events is a bidirectional or true sync process. You can't transfer only contact info and calendar events available on your iPhone only to the supported application on your computer. Contact info and calendar events available in the supported address book and calendar app on your computer and contact info and calendar events available on your iPhone will be synced so the info available on both is identical.
If you have a MM account, you need to sync the supported address book on your computer with your MM online address book first. After confirming your MM online address book matches the supported address book on your computer, follow this by enabling over the air syncing for contact info with your MM account on your iPhone. This will erase all existing contact info on your iPhone and replace it with your MM online address book info, and the same for calendar events.
If you have contact info available on your iPhone that is not available with the supported address book on your computer, you need to sync your iPhone's address book with the supported address book on your computer via the iTunes sync process first. Follow this by syncing the supported address book on your computer with your MM online address book. After confirming the supported address book on your computer matches your MM online address book, enable over the air syncing for contact info with your MM account on your iPhone. After this, your iPhone's address book will be kept synchronized with your MM online address book which is kept synchronized with the supported address book on your computer and vice-versa.

  • HT203097 Sync windows live contacts and iphone 5s

Please help.  I am unable to synch my window live contacts (2012 version) with my new iPhone 5s 16G with iOS 8.1.2.  Only two of the 70 or so contacts come across.
Thinking something might be off on the MS side, I  exported all the contacts to CSV, removed all duplicates and issues, deleted the original contacts in the windows live contact section, and then reimported the updated CSV file.
However, after attempting this, no luck.  Again, only two contacts came across - one of which is no longer in MS Live Contacts.
I have not been able to find any thing on this point in the apple help.  The MS help was for older versions. And the only online forum I saw with this topic was forum techguy  and he said it could not be done.
Please give advise on how to proceed.

    Hi Carolyn F,
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with the contact sync on your iPhone. I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear on the exact configuration you currently have set up on the Windows side, but if you are able to get your contacts into Microsoft Outlook, you may find the option outlined in the following article helpful:

  • Windows Live contacts problem

    Hi,
I have a Nokia N73 and I wanted to update my Windows Live application (Menu --> Applications --> Download!). The download and the installation succeed, untill Windows Live is synchronizing my contacts. It starts at 3 %, then 10 % and then I have to wait for a minute of 10 and finally it says: 100 %.
So Windows Live (1.0.9000) didn't synchronize my contacts, because when I'm signed in, 0 contacts are online and 0 contacts are offline...
Strange, isn't it? How to fix this?

BIS is basically just another email client...it polls your email sever for things that need to come to the BB and pushes those to the BB. If you have another email client running (e.g., Outlook) and configure it to delete messages from the server when it does it's Send/Receive, then those messages won't be on the server for BIS to retrieve and push to your BB. It's basically a timing thing...BIS polls (per documentation) every 15 minutes. If you have your Outlook getting mail every 5 minutes, then there would be 10 minutes worth of emails that Outlook would have removed before BIS could get them and bring them to your BB. You need to configure Outlook so that emails are on the server when BIS makes it's attempt...many have found that using the setting in Outlook (or other email clients) to leave messages on the server for 1 day to be sufficient. Many email providers, however, impose restrictions on how long you can leave things on the server...you'd need to check with them to make sure you are in compliance.
    Hope that helps!

  • Cant sync windows live contacts on macbook

    hi,
i wanna sync my windows live account for saving contacts and calendars on my macbook pro i somehow managed to connect mail application with windows live , on calendars i have registered it but it is not working , in calendars i cant see windows or exchange under the calendars bar , atleast in conatcts i can see exchange under groups but there is a thunder symbol beside it
    thanks,

It won't work on your Mac, Sync access to .live accounts is not available from Microsoft, it is available for portable devices (phones etc) and that is why you are in this situation.

  • ITunes for Windows 7 64 bit, Windows Live Mail Contacts not (all?) syncing

I have researched this as much as I can but cannot find a solution.
I had my iPhone 4 synced to my Window Vista Home Premium PC using iTunes just fine until January when the PC motherboard crashed. No data was lost and all contacts have been restored to my new PC with is Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit). My contacts are in Windows Live Mail (Windows Contacts) and I'm syncing via iTunes with "Sync Contacts with: Windows Contacts" selected.
However, not all contacts are syncing with my iPhone. In fact, I'm not sure they are syncing at all, although the sync function goes through. It may be that the only ones that sync are those that existed before the new PC (i.e., the Windows Vista contacts which were in Windows Mail). I have created new contacts on both the PC using the new version Windows Live Mail and on the iPhone since the crash, and would like to get them synced up.
    Symptoms:
    1) Some specific contacts on PC are not on the iPhone after multiple sync attempts.
I have so far positively identified one contact that did not sync. It shows in Windows Live Mail under Contacts, however it does NOT show up in my Windows username/Contacts folder!
    2) One Contacts group on PC is not on the iPhone, although two others are (they probably were from before the crash).
I have so far positively identified one group that did not sync. It shows in Windows Live Mail under Contacts groups, however it does NOT show up in my Contacts folder as a .group file!
    3) The same group as #2 also does NOT show up in the iTunes group list under "Selected Groups" on iTunes, but the other two groups do. (I do not use "selected groups" because that disables "all contacts" syncing, but the groups are visible grayed out on the list.)
    4) As a test, I created a new contact on my iPhone, synced, and it shows up now in Windows Live Mail Contacts; it also shows up in my Windows username/Contacts folder.
    5) As a test, I created a new contact in Windows Live Mail and it does NOT show up in my username/Contacts folder. I synced the iPhone again and it does NOT show up on my iPhone contacts.
OK folks, where are these missing contacts going and how can I get them synced??  Thanks!
PS: I have the latest iTunes 10.5.3.3, no updates are available. However, Apple Support/iTunes seems to suggest Windows 7 64 bit either "does not use Windows Contacts" (which seemed quite wrong until I ran the tests above), and also that Windows 7 64 requires iTunes 10.4.1, which I cannot install because I have a later version installed. I would have assumed the correct version installed for my OS when I installed iTunes on the new PC. iTunes runs fine by itself and in coordination with my iPhone other than the above issue.
PPS: This site seems potentially relevant, however is highly technical: http://liveunplugged.wordpress.com/2011/02/04/windows-live-mail-contacts-databas e/
but doesn't help with this problem.

I didn't get any help on this from the forum, but from studying around and experimenting with different approaches, I have come up with the following conclusions:
Under Windows Vista, Windows Mail synced its contacts with Windows Contacts [which are in c:\users\username\contacts]. iPhone via iTunes synced with Windows Contacts. Changes to either Windows Mail Contacts or iPhone contacts would always update each other. Life was good.
Under Windows 7, Windows LIVE Mail (WLM) does NOT sync its contacts with Windows Contacts. It puts them into a hidden database. If you have prior Windows Contacts and brought them along for the ride, they are still there in the folder but they are not connected to the WLM contacts database
When you first set up Windows Live Mail, you can import your Windows Contacts and they appear to be synced. (In fact, they are, but only at that single point in time.)
If you change any Windows Live Mail contact or add a new one, it does NOT change in Windows Contacts. It only changes in the WLM contacts database. It therefore does NOT sync to your iPhone.
Similarly, if you change a contact on iPhone or add a new one, it will sync with Windows Contacts. However, this does NOT update your Windows Live Contacts.
So, from what I can tell, here is what this means: to maintain a steady state, you have two choices:
Whenever you update or add a contact, add it in either iPhone or Windows Contacts [the Windows Contacts folder has a "New Contact" button], and they will stay in sync with each other. Then manually update or add it in Windows Live Contacts to keep those up to date so you can use them for e-mail.  OR
Whenever you update or add a contact, add it in either iPhone or Windows Contacts, and they will stay in sync with each other. DO NOT manually update Windows Live Contacts, but realize they are not always up to date. If an address needed for an e-mail is not in there, manually retrieve it from your Windows Contacts or your iPhone and insert it into the e-mail. [Having done that, you can right click on the address in the e-mail and add it to your WLM contacts if you want.] Periodically, manually delete all of your Windows Live Mail Contacts and then re-import your Windows Contacts into Windows Live Mail and, voila, your contacts are in sync again! (Isn't that great, I mean really awful??)
NOTE: If you follow course #2, DO NOT import your Windows Contacts into Windows Live Mail contacts without deleting your existing Windows Live Mail contacts, or you will end up with a double set plus the new ones.
FURTHER NOTE: I obviously can't make any guarantee you won't lose data if you follow course #2. Be sure you have a complete backup before deleting your WLM contacts. However, I will say that after experiencing a double set of WLM contacts (by failing to understand the first NOTE above), it was impossible to pick out the new items [WLM will now show you the date of entry or modification of the contact, so you can't sort by date], so I deleted all of them and re-imported my Windows Contacts and had a complete set again.
AND ONE FINAL NOTE: I have not tested how any of this affects Windows Live Contacts used online outside of Windows Live Mail, because I do not use Windows Live online.
Please post further comments if you have any more information on this topic.

  • Empathy not listing Windows Live Messenger contacts

Empathy is not showing Windows Live contacts on the contact list, I still can see if they're online by using gnome-contacts but, weirdly, they don't show up on the list. Another issue is that sometimes I don't recieve their messages, they can read mine, but I can't read theirs. I tried the following:
    Reinstalling telepathy-butterfly.
Killing the telepathy-butterfly process (which sometimes made their unread messages to show up).
Full removal of telepathy and empathy.
    Setting my WLM account again.
Every other service (Facebook, GTalk...) works fine and shows the contacts on the list, except WLM.
    Please help!

Do you see anything in the logs? What about when you start empathy from the terminal do you see any output that might lead you anywhere? I don't use windows messenger so I can't tell you if its working for me. Plus I use pidgin anyways. Just trying to help.

  • How do I Sync Contacts with Windows Live and Exchange on same phone?

    Hello,
We use Exchange 2007 at the office for our corporate email. I also use Windows Live for personal email. Everything works great from the iPhone. I'm able to get both Exchange email and Live email via "push" on my iPhone.
My question surrounds how to sync my Windows Live contacts to my iPhone. Can anyone guide me in getting this achieved? Right now, the only contacts getting synched are those in Exchange. Note that we use IMAP and not POP3 for Exchange. Not sure that it makes a difference.
    Thanks.

To achieve this, you need to export your Windows Live address list to an XML file.
Go to people.live.com, select Manage followed by Export. In iTunes, you can then select to sync the XML file.

  • Syncing contacts from Windows Live Mail

I have just bought a new ipad and am trying to sync my contacts from Windows Live Mail. I have found a previous post detailing what to do bit I get to a certain stage in the instructions and can't get any further. Here is the answer I found:
If you are using Windows Live Mail (online version) with Windows 7, here's what I did.  Hope it helps someone.
Before you do the following steps, in Windows Live Mail, export your contacts as a CSV file and save it where you can easily locate it.
    1.      Click on the little WINDOWS Ball in the lower left-hand corner of your screen (this is the same as clicking START).
    2.      Type WAB in the search box.  The first thing that comes up SHOULD BE a file called WAB.EXE. Double-click so it opens up—it may or may not be empty. This file is NOT the same file as the windows live file so don’t worry about overwriting anything.
    3.      Click IMPORT at the top of the screen.
    4.      Select CSV, then click IMPORT again.  It will ask you to find the file you want to import.  Find the backup you made.
    5.      Once it’s done importing, you should see all your contacts.
    6.      Plug in your Apple device—iphone/ipad.
    7.      iTunes will launch automatically.  Give it a minute to completely load etc.
    8.      At the top of the screen you will see: SUMMARY INFO APPS MUSIC MOVIES TV SHOWS etc. etc.
    9.  Click on INFO
    10.  You will see ‘SYNC CONTACTS WITH’. Make sure there is a check in the box and that after ‘with’ you see WINDOWS CONTACTS. If you don’t see WINDOWS CONTACTS, click on the drop-down menu and select it.
    11.  Then click on SYNC at the bottom right-hand corner of your screen and let it run.
    12.  That’s it!
    14.  To sync another device repeat steps 6-12
I got as far as number 9 where I clicked on INFO and it showed SYNC CONTACTS with some text, but not SYNC CONTACTS WITH and there were no boxes to check at all. Can anyone shed any light on what I should do next please?

    Hi,
Actually I don't have any problems with mails and calendars as both of them work back and forth with Windows Live Mail and IPad.
The problem is only with contacts.  Once a new contact is created in my IPad it does not go in my Windows Live contact box.
    Thanks

  • Sync iPod with Windows Live Mail Calender

I know that it is possible to sync a calender with Outlook however I was wondering whether it is possible to do it with Windows Live Mail as it simply does not give me the option.
    Thanks

    Hi Cnoc,
Welcome to BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Just to clarify, how did you synchronize your Windows Live Contacts with your BlackBerry?
Windows Live is not a supported organizer to sync with using the Blackberry Desktop Software. This is why its not appearing as an option when you're setting up synchronization. http://bbry.lv/lZWDzG
