Linked elements in Muse CC?

Since updating to the latest version of Muse CC, I'm noticing that on certain pages of my site, elements are "sticking together" as if they are linked. These are not grouped elements, and I didn't take any action to link or group them in any way. But for whatever reason, with just some elements, I can't move one without moving the other along with it. It's very strange, because it's only a few items that are acting this way, and only on a couple of pages. There must be some setting clicked on that I'm unaware of. Does this sound like a familiar problem to anyone?

PDFs are not web files. Technically they're media files that require helper applications. As such, your end users need the latest Acrobat reader & plug-ins installed for their browsers. If either of these are not installed, the PDF links won't "do" anything when clicked. Similarly, some people set their preferences to download & launch PDF files in Acrobat Pro instead of their browser.
Since there's no way to tell which software & settings your end users have, you should follow the customary procedure of creating a small thumbnail image of the PDF to give users a visual clue of what the file contains along with a direct link to the PDF & instructions on how to right click to save the file to their hard drive.

So I made a link to email, gave it a blue rollover state, exported this in an interactive PDF which I then have a link to in Muse. When you click on it, it opens in a new window/tab, w/ this weird gray color behind it. Any ideas how I can remove this? See link below for a visual:

When a PDF is opened in a browser, it can either use Acrobat/Reader, or something else such as the default PDF viewers in Chrome and Firefox. If it is being opened in one of these non-Adobe PDF viewers, be prepared for behavior that's different than it is in Acrobat/Reader, especially with interactive elements. The one in Chrome is better than the one in Firefox.

How to make the images show up on a linked file in Muse?

I am wondering how to get my images to show up on the linked files in Muse. Basically, in Muse, I have a page that links to other pages I designed in Dreamweaver. I put the images in the image folder and when I upload the site, the page links to the Dreamweaver page ok but the images are missing. This is a vital part of the site. Any suggestions?

If you made the pages with Dreamweaver then they should be on your system some place and you could make a "dreamweaver" folder inside your Muse site and upload the pages to that folder using the upload files option... see this thread talks about sound files but almost any file can be imported to muse

Another option is to link across to an online resource using the built in muse html editor but that has pit falls because once you link yourself outside the site you also lose some control of the content;

When you click on the Brahminy Kite bird you are looking at what used to be called an Iframe but the problem of control is highlighted when you click the Blue Wren and sometimes get pop up adds… I could import the Blue Wren page into my Muse site to fix this issue and in your case that’s a good option but I didn’t because I don’t have copyright over that pages contents and didn’t want to steal someone else’s work.

I think you are talking about grouping objects.
1. They must all be floating objects
2. Command click on each in turn
Menu > Arrange > Group

GUID vs. LINK elements in RSS feeds

I'm reading an RSS feed whose entries contain both a GUID and a LINK element. For each entry, the GUID element contains a notes:// URL (that opens in Lotus Notes when clicked), and the LINK element contains an http:// URL.
For this feed, Mail and Safari display clickable hyperlinks that point to GUID. The LINK elements in the feed appear to be ignored. This means that when I click any of the links in the feed, it is opened in Lotus Notes instead of the default web browser I have chosen.
Is there any way to configure the way Mail and Safari parse and display feeds, so that the LINK element is displayed instead of, or in addition to, the GUID one?

If you want to change the way the rss feed looks you can use
a website like

change the options to display headlines only etc. Hope this is what

I am creating a text link using link element and after adding it in paragraph element.When the link is created it requires ctrl key pressed together with link to operate.Can i insert a link in my text that doesn't require the ctrl key pressed while clicking the link.

If your text is editable, then it will require the control key to interact with the link (this is so that you can edit the link text without activating the link).
If you want to interact with the link without the control key, you have to make your text is either non-editable or merely selectable. If you're working with TextFlows directly, you make the text non-editable by setting TextFlow.interactionManager to null, or merely selectable by setting TextFlow.interactionManager to a SelectionManager rather than an EditManager.

Wrapping a htmlb link element

I have a long htmlb link that should be wrapped to fit in a FormLayoutCell.
The generated html page has the <nobr> element inside to indicate that the link will not be wrapped. Any ideas?

Creating an email link within a Muse page?

I want to create an standalone (not within a contact form) email link in Muse. Do I simply highlight an email address within a text box and apply a hyperlink witht the corresponding email address ([email protected])? Or does it need to be a spearate element/text box to do so?

Hello Stephen,
You can just highlight the email address and put the email address in the hyperlink field. It will hyperlink the email address and when user will click on it, it will automatically open their default e-mail client with an email having the mentioned email id in the "To" filed.

How to make downloadable links in Adobe Muse

I am new to website design and am trying to figure out how to make downloadable links for some PDF flyers, PSD templates I am creating. Not sure if "downloadable links" is the correct term for what I'm trying to say but in a nutshell I am creating Business Flyer's in PDF form and Photoshop PSD template files that I would like to be able to have my users click a link that allows them to download them right to their desktop. Any help would really be appreciated!

Displayng messages as links is fine , but how can i acchieve the functionality , that on clicking a particular link , the focus should be set on the respective field.
For Ex:
There are two error messages:
1)Enter your name
2)Select material group from drop down list box.
If the user clicks 1st message the focus should be set on NAME element.

Second, you have to extend the use of label <htmlb:link> in this way:

How to Disable/End Date an Element Link/Element in HR 11.5.7(Fam.Pack G)

We want to disable some element links that are no longer valid. These element links are assigned (element entries) to certain employees based on the eligibility criteria set (e.g. Organization/Job/Grade/etc). However we want to disable these elements from a specific date onward as they are no longer valid. I tried to end date either the element entry or the element link but I got the message "Field is protected against update".
From help the only thing I found regarding deleting an element is to delete all element entries linked to that element link and then delete all element links linked to that element to be able to delete or end date the element.
But what we need to do is only to disable the element links and not to delete them all together and lose any historical records related to these element entries.
If anyone has any idea on how to deal with this issue will be highly appreciated.

I made a search regarding elements/links and managed to find an old document (2002) regarding links and following the suggestion there I managed to end date the element links in request.
In order to end date the Element Link since it does not allow
you to make any updates you have to try to DELETE it and then select END DATE instead of PURGE.
