Linked Image ADF FACES

Hi to all!!..
Im using ADF Faces components with JDeveloper.. and I want to know how to put a link image... i mean... i want to an image in a table....then...when the user click that image, the image will open another window with an external url like www.oracle.com for example.
That link have to be binded, because the image can change the url and not always will be the same url, but will be the same image
Thanx in advance!

Thanx Steve...But is not what i need...because, the commandLink...or the GoButton let me put an embedded image, but dont let me open an external url, i mean...an external URL who is not on my project or in my server. The commandLing or GoButton only can open URLs who exist in my project and with a navigation case, but that is not what i want...what commponent let's me make an image linkable?...and that link have to be an external url like http:\\www.abcabc.com....
I was using an HTML Common Hyperlink with an HTML Common Image, and that works, but the url is not variable, and i need the url be bindeable to change the destination sometimes but the HTML Common Hyperlink dont provide me that property.... :(

  • Externalize the Skin from ADF Faces project

    I have a requirement, where we don't want to bundle Skin(CSS, adf-faces-skins.xml, adf-faces-config.xml files) with the web project. Which would help us to add new skin or change the existing skins.
    I see the CSS file name is different when it renders in the final HTML page. If my file name is 'sni.css' and it is kept in folder 'Web Content/css' but in the output html('/adf/styles/cache/sni-desktop-10_1_3_3_0-en-ie-6-windows-s.css'). How does the name changes here?
    We do this in our old framework by putting CSS files in Web Server. Can we do similiar thing in ADF Faces to externalize the styles? Overriding Faces Listeners or by any other way?
    Similiarly want to externalize images, adf-faces-skins.xml and adf-faces-config.xml also.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    We created a external skin project. WebSkin.war. In this project we put every thing (images, ccs, etc).
    In the others Web projects, into our jsp files we added this line on the header.
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" href="/WebSkin/common/skins/<%=styleBean.getStyleName()%>/screen.css" />
    And (of course) getStyleName give us the current Skin Name (blue, purple, etc)
    But (nothing is perfect).. we are using JBOSS as application server, we didn't test that solution on other platform.
    I hope is not to late ...
    Regards.

  • View link refresh issue in a ADF Faces application

    ADF BC, ADF Faces, JDeveloper 10.1.3.3
    There is an example.
    I have an Entity SaleEntity and two view objects: SalesView (based on the SaleEntity) and ProductsView (read only). SaleEntity has an attribute productId to reference a product sold. SalesView and ProductsView are related by a view link. The link works fine in a Business Component Browser.
    Then I created a ADF Faces form to edit a sale. I used an af:selectInputText component for a productId:
    <af:selectInputText
        value="#{bindings.ProductId.inputValue}"
        label="#{bindings.ProductId.label}"
        required="true"
        columns="6"
        action="dialog:ProductSearch"
        autoSubmit="true"
        valueChangeListener="#{CreateSaleBean.productId_valueChanged}"
        tip="#{bindings.ProductsViewName.inputValue}">
      <af:validator binding="#{bindings.ProductId.validator}"/>
    </af:selectInputText>
    {code}
    User can enter productId directly or select a product from a LOV. I set a tip attribute of af:selectInputText to display a name of the current product. The tip uses ProductsView through the view link between SalesView and ProductsView. valueChangeListener is used here to make tip update right after partial form submit:
    {code:java}
      public void productId_valueChanged(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent) {
        String prodId = (String) valueChangeEvent.getNewValue();
        JSFUtils.setExpressionValue("#{bindings.ProductId.inputValue}", prodId);
        getIteratorBinding("SalesViewIterator").refresh(DCExecutableBindingDef.RC_REFRESH);
        getIteratorBinding("ProductsView").refresh(DCExecutableBindingDef.RC_REFRESH);
    {code}
    SaleEntity has a productId attribute validator to ensure that id of existing product was specified. The validator is implemented in the same way as ADF Developer Guide chapter "9.6.2 Implementing an Efficient Existence Check" describes.
    All this works fine when user enters correct productId - the new value is submitted and the tip is updated. But if user enters non existing productId - the tip doesn't change. It seems that detail view row currency doesn't change in that case. I want to make the tip empty when the provided productId is incorrect. Any ideas how to achieve this?
    Thanks,

    Blaise,
    no I don't want to insert new product. I want make products view object have no current row.
    In addition product existence check code is in a sale entity. I don't think it is a good idea to have an entity object depending to some specific view object. Maybe I'm in the wrong.

    Hi all,
    I digged the forum but couldn't find any satisfied answer about displaying BLOB images by using ADF Faces.
    I have insterted POJO object to Oracle database but couldn't find any way to display blob (in java byte [] ) data in POJO.
    I have read the POJO object from database which contains two field; one of them is id field and other is BLOB data which holds GIF or JPG image and I want to display this image another page which contains also other fields / records ...
    thanks for your answers

    talks about two options for creating a graphicImage jsf tag. (img tag)
    1. Make the img tag url refer to a servlet (instead of a static image file)
    2. Embed the image into the tag as inline base64 encoded data.
    2a. Use an <Object> tag with inline data.
    1. Looks a bit complex for a simple problem.
    2 and 2a don't work with some browsers.
    - And I've not yet figured out how to hook into the ADF Faces table-rendering logic to get it to add my image column. My table binds to a collection DataControl, [which in turn retrieves from a findAllItems call on a session facade, which uses my domain model, and wraps up access to a TopLink pesistence layer]. The framework just ignores my byte[] attribute when creating the jsf table from the DataControl. All string, int etc. attributes get represented correctly in the jsf table output.

  • Image icons missing from ADF faces selectManyShuttle?

    Hi all, I'm using <af:selectManyShuttle and it works great, but I noticed it looks a lot different from the examples on
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/101/howtos/adfskins/index.html
    (all I get is text, no cool images)
    Also the ADF faces example apps don't seem to display icons either. Have I missed something?
    There are files like images/oracle/smvall.gif inside adf-faces-impl-ea20-SNAPSHOT.jar but they don't appear to be used at all. Any help much appreciated.
    Regards, Murray

    I'm having a similar problem: some images show up with the selecManyShuttle, but others do not.
    Also, when I add a leadingHeader and/or a trailingHeader, the text is displayed twice. Once in the correct position, and once after each list.

  • ADF Faces: Databound Images?

    Hi,
    How do I display databound images--e.g., those stored as BLOBs--in ADF Faces? It looks like <af:objectImage> is only for static images--you need to put in a URL to the image file. This seems like a pretty basic piece of functionality--pretty much any e-commerce app needs to display product images out of a database--but I can't find any information on doing this.
    Thanks much,
    Avrom

    i think that i dont get image correctly from db. I try to put in file to see if it´s ok, but allways write only 86bytes. getBoImagem() return array[] of field type blob.
    BlobDomain blob = new BlobDomain();
    blob.setBytes(produtoImagem.getBoImagem());
    try {
    InputStream inpStream1 =blob.getBinaryStream();
    FileOutputStream fos = new FileOutputStream("temp2.jpg");
    int len1;
    byte[] buf1 = new byte[1024];
    while(-1 !=(len1 = inpStream1.read(buf1)))
    fos.write(buf1, 0, len1);
    fos.close();
    } catch (FileNotFoundException e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    } catch (IOException e) {
    e.printStackTrace();

    I'm writing to yours because in my I'm doing a web application with ADF Faces technology.
    I want to use a commandLink that open a URL, e.g. www.oracle.com. I put it on onclick properties of this component. When I pressed it, IE shows me jscript alert which saids me that jspx page has syntax errors.
    Do I have to this component or another to use it..??..or another property..??..
    I will be waiting your responses.

  • MyFaces not rendering, ADF faces IS rendering

    I'm installing my app on the websphere application server, Version 6.1 After having issues of both adf and myfaces not working, I came accross this link which helped me somewhat. http://wiki.apache.org/myfaces/Websphere_Installation .
    By "not working" I mean that my jsp would have <h:commandLink>'s and <af:commandButton/> however the html was never actually generated. (You could view the pages source and the resulting html page was blank).
    After following those instructions, ADF components are correctly rendered, and the html works. However, I can not use any <h:> or <h:> components.
    Keep in mind, every single part of this used to work while using Tomcat (I think it was 5.5, not 6).

  • Change default text in adf faces component in Webcenter Spaces

    Hi ,
    Here is the link that I found to change the default text in adf faces component. http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/49-skin-component-labels-169191.pdf
    Scenario is simple :
    Taskflow "ABC" is used in webcenter space through imported Library in spaces App. Taskflow "ABC"  have the pageFragment "view1" and fragment has a adf table on that page. I was trying to change the "Detach" text using below code in above provided instruction.
    { "af_panelCollection.LABEL_DETACH_TABLE_DLG", "Any name for the Detachable Table" },
    { "af_panelCollection.LABEL_DETACH_TREE_TABLE_DLG", "Any name for the Detachable Tree Table" }
    Query/Problem : I did change in the trinidad-skins.xml of DesignWCSpaces app ... redeployed the war.. But the text didn't changed. The above steps worked fine for individual ADF application ... SO what's wrong with implementation on Webcenter Spaces ?

    Hi.
    Basically you have to do the following:
    Create an ADF JAR Library including your Skin (JS, Images, CSS Skin, Resources Bundles and trinidad-skins.xml)
    Deploy the ADF JAR Library as Shared-lib in WebLogic.
    Include in your weblogic.xml of the WebCenter Portal (Formerly Spaces) deployment via DesignWebCenterSpaces or the new extension the reference to the shared-lib.
    Restart WebCenter Portal (Spaces). When starting WebCenter Portal (Spaces) it looks inside of the Classpath for all trinidad-skins.xml files.
    Setup your custom skin for a Space and test.
    If the Skin is not selectable in the Administration Console then register your new skin downloading/updating/uploading from the MDS the generic-site-resources.xml file of the default scope GUID.
    If you still have issues then may I priorize a Blog entry explaining this .
    Regards.

  • Can't locate ADF Faces Core tag document

    I found a good ADF Faces core tag document (10g), using this URL, http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/partners/a
    ddins/exchange/jsf/doc/tagdoc/core/imageIndex.html. This reference has images for each tag component. but somehow the URL is not working anymore. Can anyone tell me why this URL is not working any more and how/where can I download the same refrence to local machine? This is for 10g.
    Thanks

  • ADF FACES: af:forEach and panelGrids

    Hi,
    I can't get code resembling the following to work:
    <h:panelGrid columns="4">
      <af:forEach items="#{bindings.WebCategoriesIterator.collectionModel}"
        var="current">
        <af:panelGroup>
          <af:outputText value="#{current.CatName}" />
          <af:outputText value="#{current.CatDesc}" />
        </af:panelGroup>
      </af:forEach>
    </h:panelGrid>Am I misunderstanding how one of these components works? I know <af:forEach> "only works with ADF Faces components", but I'd been assuming that means that all the components inside it have to be ADF Faces components, not that all the components on the page do. (That is, I'd assumed that the panelGrid was fine.)
    I get a couple of Log4J "Error null" messages on the console when I run this, and the panel grid doesn't seem to render at all. A table built on the same data model works fine.
    Assuming I can't use a forEach inside a panel grid, does anyone have any suggestions? Eventually, there will be images and links in these cells--the idea is to have a n x m grid of images, each linked to a "product" page, much as you might see in most web stores.
    I suppose I could use a large tableLayout with cellFormats and manually check each row in the range in the form bean, setting rowLayout and cellFormat properties to "false" once there aren't any more rows, but this seems hideously ugly for what should be a fairly simple widget.

  • Bug ADF Faces: af:table

    Hello,
    I found a new bug while working with ADF Faces. If you have a form on a page as well as a table and one of the field in the form is flagged required, then the table won't be sortable unless a value is put in the required field. The same holds true for row navigation.
    I already thought about flagging the table as immediate. That fix the row navigation but not the sorting.
    Regards,
    Simon Lessard

    Hello Frank,
    Thank you for the reply. Here's the complete project.
    It's only a little example to show ADF Faces components without any specific model technology. Therefore, the project is a single project with any well defined separation. As you can see, the table is based on a collection completely separated from the form.
    Note: I agree that sorting should fail with a required field if the table is not immediate. However, if it's I see no reason why it wouldn't work since the table and the form are not linked.
    Anyway, here's the case.
    1. A "shop" managed bean:
    import java.util.ArrayList;
    import java.util.List;
    public class ShopBean {
        private Product newProduct;
        private List products;
        public ShopBean() {
            products = new ArrayList();
            newProduct = new Product();
        public String addNewProduct() {
            products.add(newProduct);
            newProduct = new Product();
            return null;
        public Product getNewProduct() {
            return newProduct;
        public void setNewProduct(Product newProduct) {
            this.newProduct = newProduct;
        public List getProducts() {
            // I also tried to return a CollectionModel here, but it didn't change anything
            return products;
        public void setProducts(List products) {
            this.products = products;
    }2. A product class:
    public class Product {
        private String name;
        private String description;
        private Double price;
        public Product() {
        public String getName() {
            return name;
        public void setName(String name) {
            this.name = name;
        public String getDescription() {
            return description;
        public void setDescription(String description) {
            this.description = description;
        public Double getPrice() {
            return price;
        public void setPrice(Double price) {
            this.price = price;
    }3. A single page:
