Linked report

I am tryinng to add a parameter to 2 different reports that are linked .but the linked report is accesed by a function. So is not the normal case you select the report it fives you the parameter and you select the field you want.
You have to manually type the parameter name in the fx tab my question is just sampling clicking the paramet will that do the job or can you show me an example of linking the field with the parameter. Thanks

Hi Dre01,
If I understand correctly, you want to pass manually typed parameter value from one report to another report.
In this scenario, we can add an action with “Go to report” or “Go to URL” option to achieve your requirement. In the first method, we can select the name of linked report directly and specify parameter name and values to run the report. The following screenshot
is for your reference:
For the second method, the URL below is for your reference:
="javascript:void(window.open('http://server_name/ReportServer/Pages/ReportViewer.aspx?%2ffolder_name%2flinkedreport_name&rs:Command=Render&parameter_name="& Parameters!A.Value &"'))"
For more information about URL Access Parameter Reference, please refer to the following document:

If there are any misunderstanding, please elaborate the issue for further investigation.

  • Creating a Linked Report in SC 2012 - Operations Manager fails with Error

    Hello everyone,
I was trying to create a linked report based on an availability report recently. I found Emre Guclu's scom linked report creation guide here:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/emreguclu/archive/2011/10/13/using-linked-reports-in-scom-to-create-custom-availability-reports-for-specified-monitors.aspx
I go to SSRS web console and select a report (Which is Microsoft.SystemCenter.DataWarehouse.Availability in Microsoft.SystemCenter.Datawarehouse.Reports), select "Create a Linked Report" from context menu, select another location for storing the
report just like on this guide but i get an error rsWrongItemType with exact text:
"The operation you are attempting on item ' Microsoft.SystemCenter.Datawarehouse.Reports/ Microsoft.SystemCenter.Datawarehouse.Availability' is not allowed for this item type. rsWrongItemType"
Does anyone know why is this error happening and better how to fix this?
Below is the screenshot of SSRS.

    Hi,
Please check the report path you have set, the location must specify the full report path, such as
    /custom report folder/MyReport.

  • SSRS 2008 R2 why Link Report Print format different from parent?

    Hi,
I have created a link report based on Report A.
In Report A I have set the print format to "LANDSCAPE", but the link report always appear in Portrait, any work around on this?
If this is one of the SSRS bugs, is that anyway I can disable the print button in Report Server?
    Thanks

    Hi SAMSUNG,
I can reproduce the issue in my local environment. As per my understanding, this scenario is caused by design.
In Reporting Services, Report server administrators have the option of disabling the print feature by setting the report server system property EnableClientPrinting to false. But this property will disable client-side printing for all reports managed by
the server. So if you want to hide the print icon in all reports, we can refer to the following document:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms155874(v=sql.105).aspx
    Hope this helps.

  • OBIEE 11g Agent Includes Action Link Report Name

OBIEE 11g Agent Includes Action Link Report Name
I have a dashboard page with multiple reports. One of the reports has Action Links to drill to another report. When I view the dashboard as a web page, the report with the Action Links look fine. The link fields are colored blue. When I send this dashboard page as an HTML email, it shows the Action Link report name in the cell with the other data.
The dashboard page sent out as an agent should look the same as the web page and the Action Link report name should not be visible.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!
    Eric

So you spoofed the values of the 2nd column to have the report act almost like a menu listing?
if that's the case then check the data type of column 2, it should be set to HTML. Then you will just need to build your HTML tag within the column formula.
Example below bins the year name into a Link HTML Tag:
    '<a href="http://'|| CASE  WHEN "Time"."T05 Per Name Year" = '2011' THEN 'www.google.com' WHEN "Time"."T05 Per Name Year" = '2012' THEN 'www.yahoo.com' ELSE 'www.apple.com' END || '" target="_blank" > ' || CASE  WHEN "Time"."T05 Per Name Year" = '2011' THEN 'www.google.com' WHEN "Time"."T05 Per Name Year" = '2012' THEN 'www.yahoo.com' ELSE 'www.apple.com' END || '</a>'
if that is not what you are attempting to do, please clarify.

  • /http//... links in CS4 orphaned links report

I ran link checker on a site I am cleaning up in Dreamweaver.
The orphaned file report shows many strange "what appear to be links" and not files.
    Below are some examples:
    /http//ima.google.com.sg/imgres
    /http//search.aol.com/aol/search
    /http//play-mp3.com
also returned are the following which are paths(?) to pages that have been deleted from the site:
    /http//spatialgraphics.com/travel.htm
    /http//spatialgraphics.com/skh.htm
It's all very weird stuff, and I was wondering if anyone knows what this stuff is and where it's coming from?
    Thsanks so much!

I found the answer -- well, sort of. I don't know how or why the links got there in the first place but I found through another post [http://forums.adobe.com/message/379973#379973] that all you need to do is:
    run orphaned links
    delete the unwanted http links
Run "Recreate Site Cache" [Site/Advanced/Recreate Site Cache]
run orphaned links again and they should be gone.
Of course by doing step #2, you may have deleted important information on the page.  What you deleted was server scripting to write in those links dynamically.  Deleting links directly from this orphan link report is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS and should only be done if you completely understand how those links got there and why they are on your page.

  • How to hide or add columns to a linked report in SSRS 2014

    Hai All,
I have a report deployed on a server. And I created a linked report to it into another folder. Now I can actually manipulate on parameters of the linked report through Report manager but I have to hide some columns when displaying the linked report. Is there
a way to show or hide the columns on the Linked report.
    Regards,
    Rajesh

    Hi,
This is a  SQL report designing issue, with report builder we should be able to change the visibility of a column. Reports that deployed to
report manager can be edit by report builder, we may save it after edited.
    Please check the article below:
Column Visibility Dialog Box (Report Builder)

  • Broken links report generator doesn't work

I found a website that didn't work with Firefox 3.6.15. I selected the Report broken website menu item. Typed in the problem description and clicked the Submit button. The popup broken link report continues to show 'sending report' with an in progress bar for the last 10 minutes! Apparently report sw cannot contact Firefox server to send report.

Mozilla Website Evangelism has ended, the '''Report Broken Website...''' function is gone in 4.0 & later versions, and the server was shutdown in December - which is the problem you are experiencing. You can use the Submit Feedback... feature in the Help menu in 4.0 & later, but if the report is about a website that doesn't work properly in Firefox, Mozilla isn't going to contact the website and encourage them to fix their issues.

  • Parameters on linked report not updating

    Hi,
I updated a report adding parameter expressions.  A linked report based on the report I updated didn't get the parameter expressions when I deployed the base report.  Anybody else having that issue?  It's not much of a problem.  I just have to recreate the linked report which is a nusance.
    Thanks,
    DD

I know this question is old, but I had the same problem today, and I think the answer is useful.
When you deploy a new "main" report, the linked reports are NOT updated automatically, so you need to refresh them. You can do this easily from the Report Manager:
    1 - Update the main report;
2 - Go to the linked report, use the "Manage" menu, and in the "Properties" tab click in the "Change Link" button:
3 - In the following screen, select the main report, and click "OK". This will refresh the linked report with the modified main report:
4 - Once you're back to the previous screen, click the "Apply" button, to really update the linked report.
5 - VERY IMPORTANT: Since you changed the main report, all the previous adjustments you made in the linked report parameters were lost - like Null, Hide, Prompt User and Display Text, only the Default Value is preserved - so GO TO THE PARAMETERS tab and
adjust the linked report parameters again!!!

  • Minimum permissions to allow an end-user to create linked reports?

User has Browser and Content Manager permissions at the SSRS folder level. I'm finding I have to add them to the SCDW_Administrators role before they can create/save Linked Reports - seems excessive, so looking to see if there's a better solution
    O.

    Hi,
By default, all System Center 2012 – Service Manager users have access to reports through the Reporting workspace. However, before users who do not have administrator permissions can view the Reporting workspace, you must add permissions
through SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).

  • Linked Reports with Web Intelligence Rich Client

    Hi,
Is it possible to build a linked report with WebI Rich client without using InfoView?
Assume the following simple report which select some fields of a file transfer information.
    TransferID      Filename   Transfer Status
    1                        a                       OK
    2                        b                       OK
    3                        a                       NOK
Now I want to click on the record with TransferID 3 and get some more information for that particular record such as:
TransferID      Filename   Transfer Status  Date  Duration
    3                        a                       NOK         Feb 24      5
In other words, I'd like to do select of that table with the where condition "TransferID = 3" which corresponds to the record I clicked in my initial report.
    Thanks a lot,
    Kurt

    Hi Kurt
Have you found any solution for "to link two tables in one WebI report without InfoView".

  • CSS Problem with Internet Explorer 8.0 Filters and linked reports

    Hi ,
The Internet explorer 8.0 re presents the filter prompt for linked reports and a warning of "Prevention of XSS" is flashed on the browser. Is there a patch for this since changes in Interner explorer security setting are not possible to be changed in all clients.
    Thanks
    Regards
    Shivakanth

    Jovaini,
IE 8 handles threads different than previous versions. Thus, if you sign into an APEX workspace and then try to start a new instance of IE 8, that process is no longer seen as a separate process like IE 6 & 7, but rather as another "tab", if you will. Thus, as soon as you log into workspace 2, your login credentials for workspace 1 are invalidated. This is true even if workspace 2 is the APEX Admin Console, as it uses the same underlying authentication mechanism.
To solve this, you have a couple of options:
    1) Use two different browsers (i.e. IE 8 and Google Chrome).
    2) Use the hostname for one session and the IP address for another session. This will limit you to two concurrent logins.
    3) Either edit your local hosts file or if you can, have your network administrator create a number of aliases to the same APEX server. You can then use each alias for a different session with the same browser. APEX manages its session cookies based on the hostname, so if you have 10 aliases, you will be able to be logged into 10 separate workspaces within the same browser using this approach.
    Thanks,

  • Broken link report broken?

Hi. I'm using Dreamweaver CS 5.5. I get the same results on Mac or Windows so I don't think this is OS specific.
When I run "Site>Check links sitewide" I end up with a report that shows around 11,000 broken links on different pages. I am running this report on our development server (we Put files to our live site from the development server) but I'm not sure how that could be a cause. We've got a number of links to external websites that show as broken but when I check them randomly, they are all fine and the outside websites are up and running. It is also showing many internal links to other pages of our site as broken but again, random checks show them all as ok.
Is there a secret I may be missing to run an accurate link report or is it just there for looks?
    Thanks.
