Linking 2 separate GroupWise systems

Question

I don't think this is possible in many ways, but I thought I would put it out there to see if anyone had seen it done. Have a site with current GW system, version 8, and they want to build a new GW2014 system and move accounts from the old system to the new one. I can't think of a way to link the two systems to give this ability. Wanted to see if anyone else knew or had possibly seen this done.

You have to be in the same system to move users, but that's okay - here's how
you can do it (and by the way, this is what I do for EVERY GroupWise beta that I
participate in so that I can put myself and a few choice users on the new system
to test, while everyone else is happily on the older version):
1. Create a new domain GroupWise 8 secondary domain in the current system that
will be the new GroupWise 2014 primary domain.
2. Promote the new domain to Primary.
3. Upgrade the now new primary domain to GroupWise 2014.
4. Configure your new GW 2014 system however you like - create additional
secondary domains, POs, install GWIA, WebAccess,etc.
5. Start moving your users from the GW8 POs to the GW 2014 POs.
6. Once everything is moved and working, delete the GW8 pieces from the system.
Piece of cake really (I know - might not sound that way, but it really isn't as
hard as it might seem).
