Linking a new Azure subscription to an organizational account

Hi,
I'm currently trying to activate Windows Azure in a colleague's BizSpark subscription and I want to link it to our organizational account. However, the underlined words in the MSDN Benefits overview don't open the JavaScript form to enter this, but instead
nothing happens.
JavaScript is not turned off.. There is no entry in the F12 logs and other JavaScript confirmations (like removing a subscription from a Microsoft ID) work fine.
I know it worked some weeks ago. What happened?

Hi,
For this account question Please contact support team by creating a support ticket at
http://www.windowsazure.com/en-us/support/contact/
Or if that doesn't work because you don't have an active subscription you will need to contact general customer support to have them create a support ticket for you
http://support.microsoft.com/gp/customer-service-phone-numbers?wa=wsignin1.0
I guess it may be the best choice for you.
Please try it.

Will

  • Create New Azure Subscription via PowerShell Enterprise Portal

    Hi all,
I've got a scenario where we are working with a customer who has access to Windows Azure. They are looking to programmatically create new Windows Azure subscriptions for teams from Orchestrator runbooks.
I know that you can use the Windows Azure PowerShell Cmdlets to do almost anything imaginable with Windows Azure Portal but there doesn't seem to be anything for PowerShell or automation for the Enterprise Portal where I would go to create these
    new subscriptions.
Is there anything out there for the Enterprise Portal that I've missed?
    Richard Green | MCSA 2012, MCSE 2003, MCTS Desktop Virtualization, VCP5-DV http://richardjgreen.net

Currently there's no API or PowerShell cmdlet that allow us to create subscriptions programmatically. Please understand you can't simply create a subscription whenever you want. You need to bypass some verifications, such as credit card. You should also
be careful when creating subscriptions, as that might affect your billing method. Each subscription will result in a separate bill (although they can use the same credit card, as the case of enterprise agreement). In most cases, you can't let a user to use
PowerShell to create a subscription as he wants. Instead, there should be an approval process. However, you can try to submit a feature suggestion at: http://feedback.windowsazure.com/forums/34192--general-feedback

  • I had synced all my infos (passwords etc.) in my old laptop but today, when I linked my new laptop with my firefox sync account, I didn't find my saved infos.

Before I came to my new place, I had saved all my info like passwords, bookmarks etc. in my old laptop and synced them with my Firefox sync account. But, after I came to my new place, I bought a new laptop. But when I signed in my Firefox sync account in my new laptop, I didn't find all those bookmarks or saved passwords. What do I do?

Yes, I would say that your passwords are gone. When the Sync Key is "updated" as indicated in that part of the sync-log that I cropped, the server is wiped of the users data because that data is useless. That Sync key is the encryption key for the users data when that data is off the user's devices which are connected to Firefox Sync. No one except for the person with the correct Sync Key (the "owner" of that Sync account) can use that data as the data is scrambled.
I am curious about the full text of the last two sync-log files, 11kb and 38kb is a lot more data than usual for a sync-log. On my 3 separate Sync accounts I usually see sync-log files of 3kb to 8 kb when there is an error-. Problem is that this forum software doesn't provide for file uploads, and doing a copy&paste of that data into the Reply Box doesn't preserve the line formatting - making it very difficult to read and follow the sequence of events.
Sorry we didn't have a successful conclusion.

  • New Azure Database does not have a manage button

I just created new azure databases on a new Azure subscription. Everything appears to be in place except the Manage button is missing in the portal (both the old one and the new one). The manage button is displayed on the old subscription. I
made sure my IP address is tied to the new server.
Is there something else that needs done?

    Hi,
Did you create a V12 Database?
The manage button that links you to the Azure SQL Database Management Portal
(http://yourservername.database.windows.net) is not supported by a V12 Azure SQL Databases.
For more info, take a look at the Limitations section of this article:
    http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/sql-database-preview-plan-prepare-upgrade/
Microsoft recommends Visual Studio 2013 Community Edition ( A Full Featured IDE - FREE! ).
    Download link here: https://www.visualstudio.com/products/visual-studio-community-vs
In visual studio 2013, you'll have about the same capabilities as the old Azure SQL Database Management Portal.

  • Error: Cannot get Azure subscription ID and thumbprint. Failed in New-FirewallRuleForWebsite in New-AzureSql.ps1

I am working through the eBook "Building Cloud Apps with Microsoft Azure" and when I run New-AzureWebsiteEnv.ps1 I get the following error
Error: Cannot get Azure subscription ID and thumbprint. Failed in New-FirewallRuleForWebsite in New-AzureSql.ps1
I have already tried adding -ExtendedDetails to Get-AzureSubscription in New-AzureSql.ps1 and New-AzureWebsiteEnv.ps1.
I am using Azure PowerShell 0.8.16 and Windows 7 Service Pack 1.

    Hi,
Not too sure if you have tried this:
In the code you will have a line:
    $s = Get-AzureSubscription –Current
    Change that line to:
    $s = Get-AzureSubscription -Current –ExtendedDetails
The difference between the two lines is that the –ExtendedDetails will return the Thumbprint required by the code

  • Trying to Reclaim Azure Subscription From Previous Employee

    Hi,
I've recently joined a new company and have an MSDN subscription that was previously allocated to my predecessor.  I have gained access to the MSDN benefits OK, but when I try to activate the Azure subscription that comes with my MSDN subscription it
says "It appears that you have already used your MSDN benefit for a Windows Azure subscription".  If I click the "Go to the Windows Azure Management Portal" link it tells me "We were unable to find any subscriptions associated
with your account."  I've spoken to MSDN support who kept me on hold for fifteen minutes to tell me to "Try posting on the Azure forum".
They said it may be possible to re-allocate the Azure subscription to a new Live ID.  Apparently Microsoft hasn't heard of people leaving their employer.
I would appreciate any help you can give.
    Thanks very much.

  • Can't view or edit Application Insights webtests in the new Azure Portal

I'm in the process of setting up Application Insights for an Azure Cloud Services Web Role.  Things have been looking good so far - I've enabled App Insights telemetry to the VS2013 solution, configured correctly and am getting usage/monitoring data
displayed in the NEW Azure Portal (portal.azure.com).
I set up my first "webtest" on Friday to monitor the site availability from three separate locations around the world and alert when down; however, logging in today shows my webtests graph as blank, i.e. contains no data.
Usually, when this is the case, there's a link provided to create new webtests, but since I've already added a webtest, this is no longer the case.  So I can neither view or edit my existing webtest, nor create a new one.  I have tried clearing
my browser private data and even use a different browser but the result is the same.  I have also tried deleting and recreating the Application Insights instance with the same name but the result is the same (although the data from the deleted instance
remains...).  My only recourse is to create a new, differently named Application Insights instance and set it all up again, losing the telemetry collected so far.  This isn't such a big deal during the prototype stage, but when this goes into effect
on the production site, deleting and starting from scratch whenever there's a webtests problem isn't going to be an option.
How do I view/edit/clear existing webtests?  Is it possible to do this through Azure PowerShell or the Azure SDK?

  • Is it possible to export Azure VM(to local disk) and import that VM to another Azure subscription and use that successfully ?

I am setting up one VM in my Azure subscription.

Is it possible to export Azure VM(to local disk) and import that VM to another Azure subscription and use that successfully ?
    2
Is it possible to move VM from one subscription to another subscription directly ?

I think Yes. If you have the copy of OS (image) and data disk VHDs then you can copy that in your new subscription. And then create VM using that image. It has nothing to do with subscription.

  • Can't select the new Azure sql service tiers when creating a new database or upgrading an existing one

    Hi all,
I have set up the preview for the new Azure SQL tiers on both of the subscriptions we have for Azure. The one under my MSDN subscription to and a pay as you go subscription
The pay as you go subscription works fine but when I try to upgrade an existing Azure sql database or create a new one on my MSDN subscription it doesn't give me the option of the new tiers.
Using the new portal it says I need to sign up to the preview, but I already have and when I go to try to add a new subscription to the preview for Azure SQL it says all my active subscriptions are on the preview.
Any idea what the issue could be?

  • Non-personal project specific accounts with azure subscriptions?

We have (in the company I'm working for) explored the Azure platform, running database and services there, and we are possibly building some cloud based services for our customers. At the moment we are running these services using a subscription created
with my company (Office365) account and with a company credit card. But this is not probably how it's supposed to be done in real production environment.  I don't (and the company I'm working for does not) want to have the subscripion be tied
to my "personal" work email account for example.
When we are building a service to our customer, we would like to run the subscription and services using some non-personal customer specific project accounts. Is this even possible?

    Hi,
Based on your description, does your customers want to manage the subscription and services by themselves? If that they need their own azure subscription, at now on, if we add them as co-administrator, they will have the permission to manage other customer's
services, As far as I know, this may be a new feature, you could try to add this as a feature at:

  • PowerShell unable to recognize the Azure Subscription details

    Guys!!!
I am running scheduled jobs via Powershell, and Powershell is failing to recognize the Subscription details after 12hours. Hence I am manually importing the Subscription details to trigger the jobs. But this is driving me crazy!
I need some help that will fix this problem. Since the jobs are automated for each hour, it is impossible for me to manually import the details every time.
If I am to try Add-AzureAccount, it will open up a browser for me to enter the credentials. But it is not possible for me to store credentials at any place.
Kindly help me out with this Guys!!
    Thanks a lot in advance!!!

    Hi,
Are you sure remove-azuresubscription wasn't run, or perhaps the subscription data file wasn't somehow removed between the sessions.
Try Add-AzureAccount command which Authenticates a user through Windows Azure Azure Active Directory and downloads the subscriptions associated with the account.
If you still continue facing the same issue, I suggest you to remove the subscription using remove-Azuresubscription and use import-AzurePublishSettingsFile alone but not Add-AzureAccount.

  • Is it possible to use SCOM 2012 R2 with the new Azure Managment Pack to monitor Aure Wadlog Events for azure sdk 2.5

My operations team has been using MOM 2007 and has recently migrated to SCOM 2012 R2.
Till now we are using Monitoring Pack management packs which were released way earlier (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=11324),
and had a dependency on diagonstics connection string being present in the cscfg of Azure package.
This pack was allowing us to monitor the wad logs and events generated by applications.
However we plan to move to newer Azure managemen pack (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=38414), which allows for discoverability.
    I have 2 questions -
Is it possible to monitor Diagonstics Event Log with the new Monitoring Pack released on 10/2014 ? Or will the users still require the earlier pack for monitoring diagnostics installed in parallel ?
Azure SDK 2.5 got rid of diagonstics connection string. Is there any possible way to Monitor of Azure Diagonstics wadlogs using SCOM 2012 R2
    Thanks,
    Pratush

    Hi Pratush,
I would like to suggest you go through the management pack guide to get details. And you should be able to create custom monitor to monitor event logs for Azure.

  • Release Management Update 4 for VS2013: Unhandled exception entering Azure Subscription

Apparently, you can't copy and paste an exception message from Release Manger, so I'll try taking a screen shot and pasting that in...
Looks like Microsoft.TeamFoundation.Release.Common.ExtensionMethods.XmlExtensionMethods.ToXDocument() blows up with "Cannot find the requested object" when I try to enter the details for my Azure Subscription.
So far setting this up has been a bad experience. I created a VSO account and specified that when I logged in. Step 1 (Basics) is "Configure your SMTP Server Settings to allow sending emails - (Optional)". The link takes you to the
System Settings page which doesn't have a place to specify an SMTP server. The experience has been steadily going down hill from there. The "Configure Paths" tab has a "Servers" section with an empty list and no apparent way to add
a server. I assumed that maybe I had to link my account with my Azure subscription. That's where I hit this issue.
Any ideas how to get around this one?
    Thanks,
    Mike
    Mike Yeager

    Hi Mike,
    Thanks for your post.
What’s the “I create a VSO account and specified that when I logged in” mean? You created a VSO Account and use this VSO Account as your RM Server, then connect to it using your RM Client?
Under which detailed step you received this issue? Please share your detailed reproduce steps here.
For how to connect Azure subscription in RM Client, please refer to the steps in this article:
