Linking Documents from Documentum to SAP transactions

Hello Everyone,
I have been working on integrating SAP and Documentum for retreiving documents stored in Documentum from SAP. I have been searching on SDN for a while and was not successful in finding a proper solution to my problem and hence this new thread.
We have created a "Content Repository" in tcode OAC0 and made all the required config in "CSADMIN" as well.
Then we have created a new "Document Type" called "ZFI" and assigned an Object type "EKKO" and Document class "PDF" for it.
I have also created a "Document Type" called "ZFI" under "Cross-Application Components>Document Management>Control Data--> Define Document Types and also created an "Object link" to "EKKO".
Now, when our Documentum administrator is running a SAP Query from CS SAP by passing a Purchase order number, everything seems to be fine. But, if i go to "Me23" I cant see any attachement. Could anyone explain me of anything wrong in our configuration. I would greatly appreciate your help. Please, let me know if you need any clarification.
Regards,
Gopal.

Hello Gopal,
Sounds like you're close.  In my experience in linking SAP Purchase orders to Documentum, I did the config somewhat differently.
First, DIRS were not involved, I do not think you need to create a Doc type via DC10.  I used Archivelink.
Second, the content repository name must be 2 characters long and no more.  (The value you config in OAC0.)  This is important for a step that comes later.
Once I am sure my Content repository config is up and functioning, I modify transaction OAC3 to map the appropriate business object and Document type to the repository I created.  The field here only allows 2-letter repository names, which is why your config in OAC0 must conform.  This should allow you to store a document to documentum and have it link to the Purchase order record.  You may also need to modify your document class via OAC2, but it sounds like you've already done that.
If instead you wish to store a copy of the purchase order output (printlist) you will need to configure that as well in OAC3.   Object type SOOD and Doc Type Druckliste or GENPRLIST.  Then when you print, select "Archive Only" or "Print and Archive" and specify the object type and doc type, and your output will be directed there.
Good luck.

  • Cannot Display PDF from Documentum in SAP

    Hello Everyone,
    We have linked SAP with Documentum to be able to retrieve documents stored in the content server. We made all the setting required in OAC0, OAC2, OAC3. But when we are posting a document against a Purchase Order from documentum and trying to view that PDF from "ME23" it is giving us an error message as shown below:-
    "The XML page cannot be displayed
    Cannot view XML input using style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.
    An invalid character was found in text content. Error processing resource 'file:///C:/Documents and Settings/gopal.yarlagad...
    But if we go into the "OAOR" I can see the document against the Purchase order. We are not able to figure out the issue regarding this. I would greatly appreciate your help if you can help me in resolving this issue.
    Regards,
    Gopal.

    We also had the same issue. It was working prior, and suddenly we can't view .msg file (in CMOD archived storage) in portal as it no longer recognize mime type for this. This must be a new patch from outlook last week. We ended up implementing config change suggested in note 1840170, and add this mime entry in local registry. As per IBM note http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21610741, it looks like there's no other choice but to do it.
    We plan to push this entry to all users' computers soon.

  • Cannot Display MSG (MS Outlook) from Documentum in SAP

    Hello Everyone,
    We have linked SAP with Documentum to be able to retrieve documents stored in the content server. We made all the setting required in OAC0, OAC2, OAC3.
    We set everything to attach objects of types PDF, DOC, XLS and MSG.
    We can attach all the objects without problems and they are stored in the content server.
    We display PDF, DOC, XLS in SAP without problmes but we cannot display MSG files. It´s like the extension .msg of the object is missing when we try to display in SAP. In the Documentum content server is stored ok whit its extension.
    I would greatly appreciate your help if you can help me in resolving this issue.

  • Need to transport a Folder from cFolders into SAP R/3

    Dear Members,
      I want to import a whole folder( and it's child documents) from cFolder into SAP R/3. What I did so far is that I have created the RFC Dest., Configured the cFolder in R/3 using Tx CFC01, created a Search for the folder inside cFolder and ran CFI01. There I entered the cFolder Application name and entered the cFolder Search as my search name (using the search help). Then when I am trying to Add Documents it's showing a message <b>No lines added. cFolders document(s) contain no file(s)</b>. What I have seen so far even after debuging and after doing a lot of R&D is that, Documents can be imported but folders can't be. <b>But my requirement is to import all the folder element in one shot.. how to go about that? Please lit into the matter..I am waiting with points</b>

    in cfi02 it is not possible if you are game you can try
    CFX_API package to write a prg to do so
    CFX_API_FOLDER_GETDETAIL - to get doc ids
    CFX_API_DOC_DOCUMENT_READ

  • Upload documents from transactional screen - Sale & Purchase Order

    hi All,
    I am trying to have DMS attachment from trx - VA02 directly. I have come across few links which say - this is possible.
    upload documents from user transactional screen to content storage area | LinkedIn
    I am able to get the functionality for CJ20N - 'WBS Element' Object (Screenshot attached). Can someone pl suggest if I am missing something to get the same functionality for Sale Order / PR & PO.
    For Sale Order - I believe the 'Create' icon shall be 'Enabled' once I navigate - Extras -> Documents.
    -thanks

    Hi
    This button is only displayed if you use the new screen logic (see note 1066915) and when you have maintained the necessary customizing for the required document types and objects in transaction DC10.
    So I would kindly ask you to go to transaction DC10 and mark a document type where the necessary object is linked under 'Define object links'. Choose the right object and display its details by double-click. Then you will see the field 'Create document' where you have to enter a value '1' (using transaction) or '2' (simple creation). Please enter a value and flag the 'Additional function' checkbox too.

  • Migration of SAP DMS documents from RFC Archive to SAP HTTP Content Server

    Can anyone verify the correct OSS for the migration of documents from an RFC Archive repository (non SAP) in SAP DMS to a SAP Content Server HTTP Repository. Most of the OSS notes seem to indicate HTTP to HTTP migrations or based storage category migrations.
    Which is the most suitable for this?
    Edited by: Athol Hill on Oct 30, 2009 2:35 PM

    Dear Athol,
    If you want to move the originals from an archive or vault to a Content
    Server, please use the DMS_KPRO_CONVERT and DMS_KPRO_CONVERT2 report I
    would kindly ask you to see teh documentation on DMS_KPRO_CONVERT report
    in transaction SE38, which explains the whole process and gives
    necessary information.
    This conversion program offers two possibilites:
    - Complete migration:
    The meta data of the document info record and the checked-in original
    application files are migrated together. The checked-in original
    application files are transported into the storage catgories.
    - Step-by-step migration:
    In the first step meta data is migrated. The original application files
    remain in the old storage data. The migration of original application
    files starts after you have processed the files with the integrated
    viewer and checked them into a secure storage area.
    Best regards,

  • Calling SAP transaction from WebDynpro

    HI,
    Could someone post a link as to how I may call a SAP transaction from a webdynpro.
    Will this be an external call to R/3 or can i get it embedded in my dynpro.......
    Tnks..

    Hi,
    You can call by creating external window method.
    create LINK to URL or LINK TO ACTION according to requirement, for this. write code in onaction of that.
    data: iv_url type string value 'http://<server>:<port>/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/webgui?~transaction=*se38 RS38M-PROGRAMM=rsparam;DYNP_OKCODE=SHOP'.
      data: api_component  type ref to if_wd_component,
              window_manager type ref to if_wd_window_manager,
              window type ref to if_wd_window.
      api_component = wd_comp_controller->wd_get_api( ).
      window_manager = api_component->get_window_manager( ).
      window = window_manager->create_external_window(
                     url = iv_url
                     modal = abap_false ).
      window->open( ).

  • Calling SAP transaction from Webi report?

    Hi experts,
    With BI/BW query, we can retrieve data from R/3 source system via report-to-report interface. For instance, from a Purchasing query with data aggregated by Vendor, the user can trigger the R/3 transaction ME2L by clicking on a row.
    Is there a similar feature in BOBJ Webi report? For instance, can we use hyperlink or some other means to do this?
    Any idea will be much appreciated.
    Thanks and regards,
    Linda

    Hi Stratos,
    Really appreciate your advice. Following your suggestion of using blank cell, the server is determined dynamically for the hyperlink.
    However, there're still some issues with defining a hyperlink for table columns. For instance, I have 2 columns in the table - Cost Centre and Cost Element. SAP transactions KS03 and KA03 are to be launched respectively for these 2 columns. The value of the clicked column (Cost Centre, Cost Element) is to be passed to the SAP transaction.
    I've created the following hyperlink for the Cost Centre column:
    http://[[MyServer]]?sap-client=([Client])&sap-language=EN&~transaction=KS03
    with Tool Tip = [[L01 Cost Center Key]]
    The link is not working immediately, so I adjusted the formula as follows via the formula editor (by adding double quotes for <MyServer>):
    ="<a href=\""[[MyServer]]"?sap-client="URLEncode(""[[Client]])"&sap-language=EN&%7Etransaction=KS03\" title=\"\" target=\"_self\" nav=\"web\">"[[L01 Cost Center Key]]+"</a>"
    Clicking the <tick> button does not return any error.
    When I click on the Cost Center column, the SAP transaction is launched successfully. However, there're still a few issues:
    1) The Cost Center Key is not passed to the SAP transaction. Is Tool Tip the way to go?
    2) When checking the hyperlink (via right-click > Hyperlinks > Edit Hyperlink), I found the Tool Tip (L01 Cost Center Key) has disappeared
    3) After I've clicked <OK> to exit the Edit Hyperlink window, I got the error message 'Invalid character '[[MyServer]]' at position 14. (Error: WIS10080)'.
    -- It seems correct syntax in the formula editor is considered invalid in the hyperlink editor.
    Do you mind commenting on what could have caused the above issues?
    Thanks again for your time.
    Linda

  • Calling SAP Transaction from BSP

    I wonder whether it is possible to call SAP transaction from BSP application and pass to it some data; e.g., PO# when calling VA02?
    The called transaction could appear in a separate MS IE Window (like in some Portal applications) or in SAP GUI.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thank you in advance

    I have launched the Java SAPGui from BSP pages before.  I used SNC so that the users were logged on via Single Sign On.  I store the Java Gui in the Mime directory.  You can force the startup transaction.  Theorectically you could also Gui Scripting to try and control the Gui and force in the default value for your PO field.  I have not tried that however.  You will probably want to check the Service Marketplace for documents on the Gui Scripting.  The following is the code from my BSP page to launch the Java Gui in the Browser as an applet:
