Linking paypal button with options?

Hi I am setting up a site for a client. I can not figure out how to link the color options of the product to the add to cart button. For example if I want to purchase a red iphone case I select red from the drop menu and click add to cart. But once I am in the cart all it says is iphone case but doesn't tell what color or option.

I believe you set that up in the "design" of the button right in PayPal, where you put in the description of the object being sold, the price, the shipping charge, etc. Check out the PayPal button maker. I think it's in the Account Profile. PayPal has reasonably good help screens to get you there.

No, but i have to give it "remove" name only....and also im able to add values dynamically into the hashtable..... as soon as i add the value it displays on the screen with its corresponding "remove" button!!!!!

I noticed that Muse doesn't have a PayPal Subscribe button for monthly payments.
PayPal can give me HTML code to embed the button in the website.

Yes you can do that.
Insert code in <Body> of Page:
To insert HTML code in Body of page
Open the page in design mode.
Go to Object > Insert HTML.
Past the code in the window and hit OK.
To insert HTML code in <Head> of Page
Open Page in design Mode
Go to Page > Page Properties > Metadata > HTMl for Head
Paste the code in HTML for <head> section and click OK

Region Buttons with Optional URL redirect?

Is there anyway to have a button that is created using
"Create a button displayed among this region's items"
but that also can have an Optional URL redirect?

The action taken by a button of the kind that is shown amongst the region's items is not usefully configurable. What I generally do when I need a button to align with a page item is to simply stick some HTML into the 'Post Element Text' of the item after which I need a button to show up. Something along the lines of <input type=button value='Redirect' onClick=doRedirect()>

Paypal button not working correctly in Firefox but does with IE

On the Donate page of www.jnh-goneriding.org are several Paypal buttons with drop down options. When you choose anything other than the first line and click on Buy Now - when it goes to the next screen it only shows the first line - not the line you picked in the drop down.
This works correctly in Internet Explorer.

Firefox will show the link if nothing is blocking it...
In case an ad blocker, script blocker, or another extension is involved, could you test the page in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
* "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
* Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

Problem with an HTML snippit and PayPal button - cant figure this one out?

Hello Mac people. We are really good with these things but this one has got us completely foxed.
We've done a tribute website in iWeb 08 for a friend and his family that were tragically murdered in November 2006 - the address is www.yemi.co.uk
We are trying to add a PayPal Donate button to the Charity Page.
Simple right? We went to our PayPal account, set up the button, previewed it (perfect), copied the code, pasted it into an iWeb HTML snippet window, clicked Apply and the PayPal button appeared on the page... Great, thats sorted right? Nope.
What happens after we publish to our .MAC account is that the PayPal button, when clicked, tries to load the entire PayPal page into the frame / area within the actual PayPal button, which is a tiny, on the iWeb page.
What we want it to do is just link to PayPal in a new window.
Tried everything we can think of to solve it including PayPal technical service, .MAC assistance etc... 3 days later we admit defeat!
Anyone have a clue what we've done wrong? Much appreciated.

Hi, just a quick update. We managed to solve this one by adding this to the first line of code that PayPal generates after it has been pasted into the Snippit window: target="newFormWindow" - it forces the page to open in a new window and gets round the problem we were having.

Button with 17 pull down options having errors

Hello, I did some research and discovered (thanks to this forum and others) that it is possible to have more pull down options than the allotted 10 that the paypal button creator gives by default. However, the button I have created isn't displaying properly. Only 14 of the 17 pull down menu options are showing, and the 14th on the list ("Allergies:") is actually intented to be the first text field title (not supposed to be in the pull down). FYI I have created this button code with protection turned OFF. The basic information is correct, but you have options such as telephone support with AppleCare, or online support via email (that may still work after the original 90-days of complementary support + 1 year service) and if you bought the extended AppleCare plan, you can call and get a walk-through with either software or hardware issues. By the way, what were those 'pop-up messages' all about? What did they say? Did you start in safeboot, run Disk Utility, repair permissions, restart, etc?
If you have a wired USB keyboard + mouse, as part of troubleshooting you could eliminate the BT wireless as a consideration. However if the hard disk drive is getting fuller of stored content, the sytem may get slower; and if the system resources are not adequate for running Mavericks plus several top-heavy applications, more RAM may need to be installed, depending on what is already in there. These are possible contributing factors, of which the details are not available to note.

A few weeks ago, I began to have problems getting links and buttons to work on varying websites. I've tried the help steps with no success. What gives?

When I go to certain web sites, I cannot get some of their links or buttons to work. For example, I cannot "vote" and see results on MSN's homepage or sign in to my account on Ancestry.com's homepage. Some links work, but others do not. They do not work in IE either. I have tried all of the suggestions concerning plug-ins and extensions that Mozilla Support gives. I run Windows 8.1, have Java up to date as well as JavaScript. This is all I could think of for right now. Definitely call your Internet Service Provider and let them know you have upgraded to Windows 8.1 and that your router needs to be checked. Also, have them upgrade the firmware if needed. Then run Windows update. I'm going to perform more research into this matter. Let me know what results you receive after performing the firmware upgrade and the windows update.

Help with Re-Linking Navigation Buttons

I have Adobe Flash CS3 Pro.
I have a navigation header flash file that came with my website template and I am having difficulty making sense of the actionscript. It has a logo section with effects, 5 main nav buttons that move, and two extra link buttons above the navigation bar. Let’s focus on just the Navigation buttons for now. Here is what I have gathered. I have multiple text buttons on one movieclip, and I have successfully edited the text for each button. If I look at the actionscript in the top layer of this movieclip I see:
“gotoAndStop(parent._parent.num);”
I also have a separate movieclip symbol (with effects) with 5 buttons layers listed in the actionscript with the following actionscript tied to each button from numbers 1 through 5:

My problem is that I have created new pages (index.html, about.html, featured.html, projects.html, contact.html). I would like each of the 5 buttons to correspond to these pages, not the existing standard “index-n.html” pages.
Also, this is probably not relevant, but each html page has something to this affect so I can see how they correspond to each button.

I guess my real question is: What actionscript do I need to update or remove for the nav button LINKS to work with my new html pages rather than the standard 5 index-n.html pages that it automatically wants to link to?
When I try and add a “getURL” command to each of the 5 buttons and test preview the movie, the links work, but it messes up the effects of the movieclip. In other words, the buttons don’t move, they are motionless, however the links work. If I added this command to each button in some way, what actionscript would I need to remove so there weren’t any complications? I need some expert help here for it would be much appreciated. I am a novice with Flash script and its killing me that I can’t figure it out. I asked for help from the template support and all they came back with was the following message and it wasn’t helpful:
You need to duplicate each button you are editing - it is very important.

First of all, thank you for showing interest and helping out in my dilemma here. I wish I understood your meaning behind “on” because with my luck there is probably some hidden way of placing script on an object that I don’t understand or haven’t discovered yet.
This is what I know:
I have multiple text buttons on one movieclip entitled “textbutton1” (see previous picture), and I have successfully edited the text for each button and created two extra frames/buttons to make 7 total. If I look at the actionscript in the top layer of this movieclip I see:
“gotoAndStop(parent._parent.num);”
But there is no action on each individual frame (all 7 of them) on that layer.
Like I mentioned before I have a separate movieclip symbol (entitled “menu effect”) with 7 button movieclip layers listed in the actionscript with the following actionscript on each layer.

Gallery with Paypal buttons and drop-downs on the index page?

I'm looking for a LR gallery where I can have thumbnails with Paypal buttons and drop-downs on the index page.
I would prefer to keep my galleries interface streamlined and don't want to clutter it up with dropdowns and cart. I would like to have 1 page for ordering that has all my images as thumbnails with drop downs for price and size, rather than right-clicking on and image which opens in another page like the LRG Gallery with Paypal.
I don't have a lot of experience messing with code, and none with .js. I did make a drop down in Paypal and have the code, but I think things would be pretty unwield it I designed a page as a table like I would in MS Word.
I'm familiar with LRG Complete gallery, but don't see that it has the ability to not require a right click to order.

Maybe some could try this out, and has experienced the same problem.

From your wording, it sounds like you used the built-in column link within APEX. You will need to edit your column and remove that so that the column is only containing the definition that is coming from the query (you can also just change the alias used for the column and then the old column with the link will be removed and the new alias will be added against your new button column).

I Can edit link using Link.editOriginal () if the default application is as i need it will open it from there, when I try to open it with other application instead of default application of link file I can't (usually we "use edit" with option in manually). Is there any option to do it in scripting.
Any clue will help us to update the large set of links in a single click.

it will open in illustrator instead of mathtype if i use editOriginal function...
