Linking URLS in flash

Hi All
I am a beginner using flash and have been asked by the
company I work for to update the website to save on costs having it
done externally. www.rpcrecycle.com
As you can see on the homepage i have produced a little flash
file were phones 3 sets of 3 phones fade up and down repetively
I am trying to add URLs to the relevant phones so that when a
customer clicks on a phone image it takes them to the relevant page
of the site.
I have found sone examples of coding using actionscript 3 but
must be doing something wrong somewhere.
Can any one help in providing an example of code i need to be
using?

I visited the site on Firefox, but I don't see any flash on
the home page. On Safari, I can see it - so first things first -
you need to embed the Flash so it works across all broswers. You
can use swfObject for this - as it is now the standard and Adobe
has adopted it for Dreamweaver CS4.

For AS3, you need to add code to link to the specific URL -

You cannot put an HTML link on a Flash object. You would have
to do that in
Flash.

This is preferable when the URL is very long. Posting the entire URL can extend the width of a post beyond the range of many computer screens. This can make a post difficult to read, as it necessitates sideways scrolling.
This is the format to use:

The quotation marks are necessary.
This link Search Apple Support, would be formatted like this:

Accessing Collaboration Room with Room Link (URL) doesn't work

hi all
i'm trying to access a collaboration room by room link (url) but it doesn't work. the room url is: https://www.sportal.ch:443/irj/index.html?NavigationTarget=CollaborationConnector://portal_content/com.sap.ip.collaboration/Rooms/b0ce78ec-3f30-2910-2184-b171271d4d95/workset&NavTargetAsRoot=true
i have checked the roombackend-properties => they are ok
i have checked the roles and permissions => they are ok
what me surprises: when i open a new browser window and type in the mentioned url, our portal-start-page is displayed but in the content area there is no content displaied. i expected, that when i type in the url, then the authentification-dialogue would appear, but it does not.... (does this url only work if i am already logged in the portal??)
if you have any ideas, how the problem could be solved, please let me know!

thank you for the input. i have now solved the problem, perhaps my solution fits for you too. here it is:
when i use the function "send room-link" the url looks like this:
https://www.sportal.ch:443/irj/index.html?NavigationTarget=CollaborationConnector://portal_content/com.sap.ip.collaboration/Rooms/9020275c-8348-2810-28a6-a8c1ae60e192/workset&NavTargetAsRoot=true
with this url i can not access the collaboration room.
but when i change the url like this:
https://www.sportal.ch/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=ROLES://portal_content/com.sap.ip.collaboration/Rooms/9020275c-8348-2810-28a6-a8c1ae60e192/workset&NavTargetAsRoot=true
now i can access the room (with authentification).
OK, for me the main problem is solved, but can someone perhaps tell me whats the difference between:
NavigationTarget=CollaborationConnector
and
NavigationTarget=ROLES

Links (urls) inside a pdf document are not enabled by the New firefox pdf preview feature but are in Chrome & IE

The new pdf preview feature in firefox desktop does NOT seem to activate any links (urls) inside the pdf meaning they are no longer clickable.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem.
I send out product information using pdf's with clickable links inside (as do lots of businesses) and this loss of clickable links functionality is a problem.
I also tried the same pdf files in IE and Chrome and their inline pdf previews keep all links fully working.
I know the pdf preview in firefox can be deactivated and the adobe reader can be used instead but in reality lots of people won't know how to do this or won't be troubled to find out how and will just move on.
Does anyone know if this feature is going to be fixed or supported or is it a deliberate security feature.

The PDF.js team is still hard at work on the built-in viewer. It looks like there is already a bug on file for this and they are aware of it:

Please don't post in the bug if you are just confirming that you've seen the problem too. That clutters the tickets ;)

Images cannot contain links. All that stuff is done in the web page source code, e.g. using image maps, interactive SVGs or JavaScripts that track coordinates and respond accordingly. You will have to use a web authoring tool like Muse or Dreamweaver to produce such stuff, but since you seem to be a complete beginner, I strongly urge you to read up at least on some basic stuff about HTML, CSS and how the web ticks in general or you'll be forever lost.

MAC - Can't open a link/URL in a new tab inside a folder

I can't open a link/URL in a new tab inside a folder from a Mac. I am sure I can do that in PC. Please advice. Thanks in advance.

Does the URL go to a regular web page, or another kind of file (e.g., PDF, PowerPoint)?
If you right-click the link and choose Copy Link Location, then paste to the address bar and press Enter, does Firefox load the link as expected?

Links, URLs & bookmarks open in same tab -- not separate tabs so i left ff 17 for FF 16

no matter how i configure the tabs setting in firefox (open links and new windows in a new tab) , all links, URLs and bookmarks open in the same tab, instead of as separate tabs, unless i first open a new tab and then select/enter the link, URL or bookmark.
for this reason, i ALWAYS use Tab Mix Plus extension...this has mastered the use of tabbed browsing and is very easy to set up and keep up...i dont have to open blank tabs first and TMP has other options too...
i just downgraded from FF 17 to FF 16 bc Tab Mix Plus doesnt work with FF 17 and i wont have my browsing hindered by FF inability to make their tabs work...
btw, i always revert to a previous version of FF until Tab Mix Plus is updated to work with the current FF upgrade...

How to add a link/url to the the task assignment email body?

I'm currently creating a SharePoint 2013 workflow by using visual studio 2013.
in the workflow I assign tasks to multiple users by making use of the CompositeTask workflow activity.
I would like to add a ling to the task form in the body of the assignment email.
When using the SingleTask workflow, the output of the activity provides a task item ID which can be used when construction a link/url to the task edit form, but there is no such output.
How can I add a link to the task form in the body of the email?

What do you mean about opening a flash file? Do you want the
.fla file
to open in flash? Or is it a swf that you imported into
Director? Or
is it an exe that was published from flash? Or a website that
was
created with Flash?
If you are opening a .exe and you know the path to it, then
you can use
Director's built-in open command
open the moviePath&"flashFile.exe"
for most other things, I would use BuddyAPI. To open an exe,
baRunProgram(). To open a fla or swf, baOpenFile.
To make Director open a swf on the stage, import it and
simply tell the
button to go to that frame.

Attaching a link to a Flash video

I made a flash video and I would like it to be a link to
another site. Is this possible if so how would l go about doing
this? I search these forums all morning and found nothing related
to the topic. I tried the following and had no success:
1. Right click on image Edit tag, events, then OnbllClick
insert web address.
2. Under insert tab I tried HTML, head tag, , link.
3. Under modify make link.
All 3 of those had no luck I also tried a few other things.
Got know where
I am wondering if I was suppose to add then link maybe in
Flash or After Effects?

All of a sudden I also been having trouble with opening up
the page in Explorer and its asking me to save the file as
dwt.template which its already save as. When I open it does the
same thing again. I didn't have this problem until today. Other
then this it was able to preview it in explorer. Firefox works fine

Yes, and you would lose. First of all, you didn't read my
post because I
did not say you couldn't put a link IN Flash. I said that you
cannot use
HTML to put a link on a Flash object. And secondly you are
missing the crux

Do we have to Creating an Opaque view for generating the Action Link URL in OBIEE Oracle E-Business Suite integration if we are not using BI Applications(DAC). We built our Repository on Materialized views we were using with Discoverer so I'm not sure if we have to do the part that creates an Opaque view in our integration of EBS 11i with OBIEE.

Can I Embed a URL into Flash?

Hi All,
I have a dynamic graphic that is updated periodically. I want to know if I can embed the URL into Flash. The URL is:

I'm using CS4 but am developing this site in AS2.

I would like to have the URL embedded in my Flash project (web site). So that the URL is displayed in a section of the web site. I suppose the best way to explain this is that I want the URL to be displayed automatically on the web site with no mouse or user interactions.

Hide webpage link URL from browser status bar?

Anyone know how to hide webpage link URL from the browser
status bar with Dreamweaver CS4? So that when the mouse cursor
hovers over a link on a webpage, the URL won't be shown in the
browser status bar. This comes in useful for when I put my email as
a link on a webpage but I don't want to let my email address be
known prematurely. I prefer to do this through the Dreamweaver CS4
interface without coding, if possible. What is the easiest way to
hide link URL like this? Thanks.

More than the anal users. Many people use this information to
decide
whether they will click on the link. By hiding it, you remove
that
extremely valuable security information - for example, a link
tells you on
the screen that it is taking you to www.wachovia.com, but the
status bar
link tells you it's taking you to
www.iamahackersiteandwilldrinkyourmilkshake.cn
I don't think you want to remove that from your site, unless,
of course, you
are the webmaster for
'iamahackersiteandwilldrinkyourmilkshake.cn....
