How to post a link (URL) in "Apple Discussions"

You can shorten your links (URLs) by using HTML coding.
This is preferable when the URL is very long. Posting the entire URL can extend the width of a post beyond the range of many computer screens. This can make a post difficult to read, as it necessitates sideways scrolling.
This is the format to use:
<a href="Insert URL Here">Type Title Here</a>
The quotation marks are necessary.
This link Search Apple Support, would be formatted like this:
<a href="http://search.info.apple.com/">Search Apple Support</a>
The title can be anything you choose.
To avoid typos, it is helpful to go to the web page you are linking to, and copy & paste the URL from the address bar of your browser.
Some helpful Utilities:

  • How to add a link/url to the the task assignment email body?

    Hi,
I'm currently creating a SharePoint 2013 workflow by using visual studio 2013.
in the workflow I assign tasks to multiple users by making use of the CompositeTask workflow activity.
I would like to add a ling to the task form in the body of the assignment email.
When using the SingleTask workflow, the output of the activity provides a task item ID which can be used when construction a link/url to the task edit form, but there is no such output.
How can I add a link to the task form in the body of the email?
    Thanks in advance

Found this link just after I posted my question:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.sharepoint.workflowservices.activities.taskemailtokens_fields.aspx
It has a bunch of tokens you can use inside the body of the emails

  • TS4268 How to break a link with an apple ID

I had my facetime e-mail address linked to another apple ID.  I now want to migrate my facetime e-mail to a new apple ID.  It says that it can't confirm the e-mail address because it is already in use.  How do I break that link to the old apple ID?

I figured it out with the hints I got just after I posted the question.  I had to login to the old apple ID and delete the e-mail address.  Simple.

  • When I share a link (URL) only Apple computers receive the link. Others such as PCs and Blackberries get the message, but the field which should have the link is blank. Is this normal?  Why can I only send to Apple machines?

when I "share a link" (URL) using the pulldown menu in Safari, the email goes to all addresses I indicate, but only Apple computers receive the link. Others such as PCs and Blackberries get the message, but the field which should have the link is blank. Is this normal?  Why can I only send to Apple machines?

I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6.

  • Does anyone know how to post an official complaint to Apple?

My newly arrived Iphone 5 about 3 days old and costs around $1000 has to be replaced with a refurbished Iphone 5.
    Here is the story:
I was looking forward to Iphone 5 and pre-ordered it and waited for about 3 weeks. It arrived on Friday the 12th of October, i was really excited about it.
After playing around for about 2 days, i have found that my silent/mute button is not working as expected, the switch seems to be loose and keeps toggling on and off. After browsing around the web, i've found that this issue is commonly found with the new Iphone 5.
Heres what it looks like exactly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mGECFTPPZw4
So, i decided to book an appointment with my local Apple Store (Sydney, Australia). When i got there, they told me that my Iphone 5 can be replaced. I was expecting it to be replaced by a new one but they offered me a refurbished one. I was going to exchange it (reluctantly), but after giving it a closer look, this refurbished iphone5 seems to be a 'reject' product, since the color of the SIM card tray (white-ish grey) doesn't match with the black iodised aluminum frame. The difference is noticeable (i compared it with my faulty Iphone 5), so i declined it.
I would like to return it if possible rather than getting it replaced with a 'refurbished' one, but im not sure how to refund it since i bought it from Optus Mobile Contract.
I am very disappointed with the inconsistency in the Apple warranty, last time i bought an Apple Macbook Pro Retina (2 months old) and had some issue (No bolt attached to the SSD tray)  and they replaced it with a new box. Im not sure why i can't do the same with my faulty Iphone 5 (3 days old).

It is most unlikely your replacement is anything other than new
Refurbs are recycled through the Apple supplier's Factories
I doubt that there has been time for that process and has already been mentioned early failures
are probably checked out thoroughly before being recycled
In any event you would never know the difference between new and a refurb
I have had  x2 in past and certainly could not
depending on your consuer laws you can probably get your money back
    if you are that concerned

  • How to hide column link URL on status bar?

    Apex 4.1
I have IR wit one column link target to URL, and it uses
    javascript:my_function(#COLUMN_VALUE#)as URL, that is, calls some function and passes the value of that column to the function;
    everything works fine;
but when I place a cursor over the link, bottom line of IE9 browser (is it called a 'status bar'?) clearly shows:
    'javascript:my_function(<actual value>)'
Is there any way to prevent it from showing function name and parameter value?
    I tried
    onmouseover="window.status='';"but it does not work

Don't name the function in your link and hide the code in a dynamic action. See this example:
    http://apex.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=31517:296
and the empno column which is a link. Explanation further down.

  • How to post LAN links?

I need to know hot to write/post in a mail a link to a specific document in my LAN. I don't want to attach the document to each copy of the message. My LAN is in Windows Server, I'm the only happy worker! Please, help to maintain this situation.

You're going to have to give more information on the type of File server that is running, its protocol, etc. because what Jim posted in the way to do it.
When I post links, sometimes they become hyperlinks and other times they do not. Also, sometimes, Windows will delete the links from the email because they consider them unsafe.

  • Hide webpage link URL from browser status bar?

Anyone know how to hide webpage link URL from the browser
status bar with Dreamweaver CS4? So that when the mouse cursor
hovers over a link on a webpage, the URL won't be shown in the
browser status bar. This comes in useful for when I put my email as
a link on a webpage but I don't want to let my email address be
known prematurely. I prefer to do this through the Dreamweaver CS4
interface without coding, if possible. What is the easiest way to
hide link URL like this? Thanks.

More than the anal users. Many people use this information to
    decide
whether they will click on the link. By hiding it, you remove
    that
extremely valuable security information - for example, a link
    tells you on
the screen that it is taking you to www.wachovia.com, but the
    status bar
link tells you it's taking you to
    www.iamahackersiteandwilldrinkyourmilkshake.cn
I don't think you want to remove that from your site, unless,
    of course, you
    are the webmaster for
    'iamahackersiteandwilldrinkyourmilkshake.cn....

I am having the similar problems, receiving emails with discussion URLS pointing to servers I can't reach:
The following updates have been made since 10/18/06 4:16 AM
Topic "Podcasts wont autodelete" has been updated one time
    http://acdiscuss-stage01.corp.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=3321692#3321692
Topic "Problems with sleep mode in 10.4.7" has been updated 2 times
    http://acdiscuss-stage01.corp.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=3356412#3356412
    http://acdiscuss-stage01.corp.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=3358095#3358095
Topic "Aperature fails updating Vault..." has been updated one time
    http://acdiscuss-stage01.corp.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=3367212#3367212
Whenever I get email messages like this they are accompanied by emails that are identical but with references to valid URLs.
In addition, the "update" notifications are bogus. For example, you can see by checking the relative dates of the quoted message above and this post that there have in fact been no updates made to those discussion topics in the intervening time period.
Since these bugs are effectively generating alot of spam, I'm surprised not to see a flood of posts complaining about this.
I did find a reference to the 2nd issue of bogus update notifications previously posted in this archived thread Ghost new posts appear according to My Subscriptions at
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=348043.
Also, it has been mentioned more recently in Forum Bugs at
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=3291248&#3291248
    and in 2 messages, 1 works, 1 doesn't at

  • How to Post XML Messages with SOAP Headers to a Trading Partner URL

    Hi All,
Greeting to the Oracle B2B Community. We are currently working on how to post a Custom XML Message with SOAP Headers to a Trading Partner URL. I would really appreciate if anybody could provide me some inputs or links to some documentation on how to achieve the above requirement. The details are below:
    1. Our Internal Application generates a Flat File (PO Extract).
    2. The Extract then needs to be transformed to an XML Message. We are planning to use BPEL to do the transformation to XML Message.
    3. Once it is transformed to an XML message it needs to be posted to the Trading Partner URL as an HTTP Post and with SOAP Headers.
We are planning to use B2B to do the posting but I am not sure on how to do the set-ups and what all parameter files in B2B needs to be updated in order to achieve the same. Also it is mandatory that we send SOAP Headers in the XML Message.
Thanks In Advance for your help.
    Regards,
    Dibya

    Hello Dibya,
As you are already doing the transformation from Flat file to XML in BPEL which is typically the capability of B2B, please use the Soap binding in BPEL to send the document to Trading partner.

  • How can i activate my IPAD 2 in which the currently linked to an Apple Id is forgotten to first time use to set up this Ipad 2?

how to activate Ipad 2 with the Apple id linked was forgotten..serial number isF5*****KPH..
    <Personal Information Edited by Host>

You will have to remember or find your id. See if either of these two pages help :
    - if you have any of the accounts downloads in your computer's iTunes library : Recovering a forgotten iTunes Store account name - Apple Support
    - use http://appleid.apple.com : How to find your Apple ID - Apple Support
If you can't find it via either of those then try going to an Apple store if you have one nearby, or try contacting iTunes Support (these are user-to-user forums) and see if they can/will help (both are likely to want proof of ownership e.g. the original receipt with the serial number on it) :  http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page
(As these are user-to-user forums I've asked the hosts to remove the serial number from your post.)

dbThat seems to work, but it would be nice if the "Link Button" was fixed. I hope you report the problem to the proper authorities, I can't figure out how to report forum problems.

  • How do you post a comment on the Apple Website for one of their products?

I was wanting to post a comment about the new Aqua UI and I was hoping that it would be a lot easier to post a comment on iTunes 7.0.1 and their was no luck. If anyone can give me a link to do that, that would be great. I origionally thought that I could do that here but then I realized that this is a place for questions, not comments.

wait...i dont know how. I thought it was the Posts and now I remembered that this is for help. Well, the question remains: how do you post a comment on the Apple Website about iTunes 7.0.1?
