Links generate javascript errors?

I am getting the following error from all links on a .faces page:
'elements' is null or not an object
Any idea what can cause this?
I am btw using:
myfaces-api 1.1.4-SNAPSHOT
myfaces-impl 1.1.4-SNAPSHOT
myfaces-shared-impl 2.0.2-SNAPSHOT
tomahawk 1.1.3-SNAPSHOT
tomahawk-sandbox 1.1.2-SNAPSHOT
Best,
Thomas.

Btw, I have a datatable within a tabbedpane. Maybe it is because the form that contains the datatable is within the tabbedpane form?
The javascript tries to reference the innermost form with a document.forms['something'].elements['something'] statetement, and it fails.

  • IE9 browser helper generating javascript errors in Web Application

    Hi All,
    Any idea why when I record/playback my Web Application with IE9 my modal dialogs are generating javascript errors? The modal dialogs runs fine when the helpers are not running but it starts throwing script errors left and right once the helpers are active. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers,

    Hello
    Is that a Functional or Load test script? Probably a functional one, correct?
    I guess IE9 is mandatory or can you try with another web browser?
    Never faced that one.

  • Javascript error generated on localization of detailed navigation links.

    I m working on an application in EP KM and doing localization. when I log in with language user I m getting javascript error.
    error comes when I click on the link in detailed navigation. All the detailed navigation links has been translated in 4 languages.(Spanish,French,Italian,german). Special character problem is also a problem in detailed navigation, on Page and iviews its fine.
    anybody idea about translation of detailed navigation and any error that is generated by that link. ( We have done translation using worklist translation manually. )
    I cannot modify Script that generates errors. Because It is auto generated by SAP.
    I watched preview of available pages in that particular language, I am getting no errors.
    So I think there is no error with language.
    So what can be the problem actually?

    Hi,
    We are experiencing the same issue and believe it is a required change on the detailed navigation.
    If you are able to fix this, please can you let me know what the possible fix is.
    Thanks

    _checkLoad is contained in the MarlinCore.js file.  That file should be in cabo/jslib/ directory.
    Two things strike me odd about the generated HTML code with relation to JavaScript. First, I expect to see JavaScript source files declared in the head portion. Second, the source files is declared after the onload call is made to the _checkLoad function.
    The third thing that I can see possibly causing the error is that the MarlinCore.js file is not visible to the server and therefore not delivered to the browser. But I am not certain where to find the files used by the embedded OC4J server.
    Is this a bug in 9.0.3?
    The uix files follow. All three framed pages (topFrame.uix, centerFrame.uix and bottomFrame.uix) display nicely in the uix preview and run nicely in the embedded OC4J.

    Did you create the files with JDev 903 preview or JDEV 902? If you created with JDEV 902 and upgraded your project to
    903 you need to delete all the files in the cabo directory in your public_html directory. That should get rid of your
    javascript errors.

  • BUG:? "permission denied" error in generated javascript of af:table!

    Hi,
    In a JSF page with frames, the generated javascript event handlers (_tableSort and _navSubmit) of a af:table component raise a "permission denied" error in Internet Explorer.
    After this error is raised, nothing work... links, command, etc. do not respond.

    Hi,
    Did you ever get any reply to this? I'm now running into the exact same problem, for the exact same reason (app works fine--unless a containing window is being served off another host--then we get Permission Denied). Changing the hosting configuration is, unsurprisingly, not an option. Is there a way around this problem? This is a really critical piece for us.
    Best,
    Avrom
    [edit: I have more information. This Javascript error is raised by a Javascript security feature and is intended to prevent cross-site scripting. If a frame's contents are served by a different server than the surrounding window, the contents of the frame are not allowed access to the other contents of the surrounding window.
    Apparently, a number of ADF Faces components (including the table) have Javascript that attempts to access the top-level window...which means that you *cannot* run ADF faces in a situation like the one you described. Personally, I think that's an ADF Faces bug.
    Our workaround is to abandon the idea of putting the app in a frame...we're going with either a popup or allowing the app to take over the window.]

  • Javadoc -link giving me a javascript error

    was not sure how to reference this issue in a title. anyways, i am running a command like this
    javadoc -link http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4/docs/api/ -sourcepath /home/dir/com/hostname/ com.hostname.A com.hostname.B
    everything works great. All core API package classes have links and they work. But they give me a javascript error. It appears, from my days of javascript, that sun is not allowing me to load there page within my frame. I am not loading my API via a web server...just locally. The error says access denied. I click okay and everything from that point foward is fine.
    the error does specifiy a line number w/i the html..here it is
    <SCRIPT>
    function asd()
    parent.document.title="Exception (Java 2 Platform SE v1.4.0)";
    </SCRIPT>
    <BODY BGCOLOR="white" onload="asd();">
    maybe my browser is angry that sun's page is trying to adjust my parent window. could be my end...i dont know
    any ideas

    The purpose of the Javascript is to put the class name ahead of anything
    else in the window title, so when the window is minimized, you can see
    the class name in the MS Windows toolbar.
    What browser version are you using? Do you have frames displayed
    in the browser?
    When you get "access denied" error, does the browser prevent the page
    you are trying to link to from being displayed?
    Are you using Javadoc 1.4 Beta 2?
    If this appears to be a bug in Javadoc, then please submit this as a
    bug at java.sun.com/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi under Java 2 Standard Edition v1.4,
    javadoc subcategory ASAP, with answers to the above questions, so we
    can fix it for Beta 3.

    First of all, which JS error exactly are you getting? You as developer should know better that you shouldn't ignore errors. They contain helpful information about the cause of the problem and thus also how to solve it. Where exactly does the error come from? (view the generated HTML source). Which JSF implementation and version exactly are you using? Which webbrowser exactly are you using? Does it work in/with other/newer versions?

  • Hyperlink to SSRS Report throws JavaScript Error

    Hoping this is the right place to get help here. I'm not sure if this is an error in ASP.NET, SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services or some compatibility issue between VS 2010 and VS 2013 Express for Web.
    I have an ASP.NET web form written in VS 2010 / VB.NET. The form has three hyperlink controls that have NavigateURL properties that are set at runtime. Those URLs point to reports on a SQL Server 2005 Reporting Server. The app runs in our Intranet and we use
    Windows authentication throughout. I am using the ASP.NET Development Server (Version 4.0.30319.18408) locally.
    This app used to work just fine, but recently it broke. Now when I run my code and click the hyperlink control (IE is the default browser) I get a JavaScript error of monumental complexity/density.
    The URLs work in IE. They work in FireFox. If I set FireFox to be my default browser it's opens fine from VS. But when I run it in IE I get the error.
    When I click the Hyperlink, I get a messagebox saying "Javascript runtime error. Access is Denied." [Break] [Continue] [ Ignore]
    Behind that, in Visual Studio, there's a 'Script Block [dynamic] tab open. It has a lock symbol on it and the window is FILLED with hugely dense and incomprehensible Javascript.  If I break, I'm dropped into the code. The offending line is:
    this.FieldFocus=function(a){var b="undefined"!=typeof LP?LP.getBrowser().selectedTab.linkedBrowser:null;if("undefined"==typeof LP||b){var c=b?b.contentDocument:document;if(c&&!("undefined"!=typeof c.FieldFocusDone&&!0==c.FieldFocusDone))if("undefined"!=typeof
    c.LPlpUseLastPassLogin&&!0==c.LPlpUseLastPassLogin)lploggedin?(c.LPlpUseLastPassLogin=!1,LP.FieldFocus(a)):(lp_showNotification("UseLastPassLogin",b,0,"login",null),c.LPlpUseLastPassLogin=!1,c.LPlpm_setupFocusHandler=!1,c.FieldFocusDone=!1);
    else{if(lpNotificationsAfterClick)lpCheckGenPwAndFF(b,c,!1);else if("undefined"==typeof c.LPlpgenerateandfill&&"undefined"!=typeof c.LPlpfillforms)lp_showNotification("FillableFormDetected",b,0,"formfill");else
    if("undefined"!=typeof c.LPlpgenerateandfill)lp_showNotification("GeneratePassword",b,c.LPlpgenerateAids,"generate",c.LPlpgenerateForm,null,c.LPlpgenerateandfill,c.LPlpfillcurrent);else return;c.FieldFocusDone=!0}}};
    Needless to say, I have no frickin' clue what this is. I'm new to web programming, so this is totally beyond my abilities.
    Possible Factors:
    Compatibility view is on for all Intranet sites, but turning that off makes no difference.
    I recently upgraded from WinXP to Win7 64-bit.
    I also recently tried loading the Web Project into VS 2013 Express.
    I'm not sure which of these may be a factor, just thought I'd mention them.
    Fix Attempts:
    I tried removing my fancy code and just setting the correct URL in code. Error.
    I created another hyperlink control, and in code I copied NavigateURL from the existing control to this one. Clicking that one WORKS. WTH?
    Any help would be deeply appreciated, thanks.
    Barry

    Well you can post a question in the ASP .Net forum and see if you can get an answer.
    "The URLs work in IE. They work in FireFox. If I set FireFox to be my default browser it's opens fine from VS. But when I run it in IE I get the error. "
    The above makes no sense to me. The URLs work in IE but when I run it in IE I get the error?
    This makes no sense either "This app used to work just fine, but recently it broke" as apps don't just break. Something changes to cause an issue with them. Which systems did the app "break" on? What upgrades were recently done on those
    systems?
    When you opened the project in Visual Studio Express 2013 for web is that when the app broke? Maybe the app requires more than Visual Studio 2013 Express for web has available.
    Was Visual Studio 2010 an Express edition for web? Or did it have more capability than that?
    Did you load a newer version of IE on that system? As the WebBrowser control, from what I understand, uses the current rev of IE on the system as "The
    WebBrowser control is a managed wrapper around a component installed with Internet Explorer. Use this property to determine which version of Internet
    Explorer is installed. This is useful when your application uses a feature of Internet Explorer that is present only in certain versions. If the required version is not present on the local machine, you can provide alternative functionality or prompt the user
    to upgrade". Maybe something there occured. Or do you use the WebBrowser control?
    Is Visual Studio 2010 on the Win 7 64 bit machine? If so does that app not work in that too?
    Did you compile the app to AnyCPU rather than X86 or X64 or try to compile it to one of the other two to see if that corrected the issue?
    There's obviously something going on which you've not taken into account from a to b.
    Please BEWARE that I have NO EXPERIENCE and NO EXPERTISE and probably onset of DEMENTIA which may affect my answers! Also, I've been told by an expert, that when you post an image it clutters up the thread and mysteriously, over time, the link to the image
    will somehow become "unstable" or something to that effect. :) I can only surmise that is due to Global Warming of the threads.

  • Javascript error calling a bi 7.0 webapplication from a bsp application

    Hi everyone,
    This is the scenario we're facing a javascript error :
    Enterprise Portal is calling a custom bsp application ( via an iview in the enterprise portal ) in the bi system with a parameter "template_id" and a value, which is the technical name of a bi web application.
    The bsp application is evaluating the parameter by some custom code and creating a html page with a redirect or a maintenance message to the bi web application passed with the parameter "template_id".
    The html link to the bi web application is created according to this documentation :
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/46/03d4ac801467e6e10000000a1553f6/content.htm
    Purpose of the bsp application :
    in the bi system there is a database table to maintain a flag for each webtemplate and infocube, which should not be called via the enterprise portal for a certain time ( some kind of maintenance switch ). The bsp application then decides to show a maintenance page for the called webtemplate or to send the redirect page to the client.
    The process described above is :
    working with the bi 7.01 sp7 in the bi ( enterprise portal sp22 ) in the productive system.
    working in the Q&A system bi 7.01 sp8 with bi 3.5 web applications.
    not working in the Q&A system bi 7.01 sp8 with bi 7.0 web applications.
    The javascript error calling bi 7.0 web applications is :

    We've opened a message. Support center is saying that this method isn't supported by sap. We should ommit the bsp application and the used functionality.
    Is there any way to find out, what is causing this object is missing ?
    Is there another way than a bsp application to use this custom maintenance function in the described system setup ?

    Hello everyone,
    we did some further analysis on this problem und we think we found the problem.
    The error occurs while trying to execute the standard url for web templates inside a Enterprise Portal Frame, for example
    https://XXX:XXX/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.sap.pct!2fplatform_add_ons!2fcom.sap.ip.bi!2fiViews!2fcom.sap.ip.bi.bex?TEMPLATE=XXX
    While executing the URL a HTML-Page with some embeded Javascript-code is sent back to the browser.
    In this Javascrip-Code, the method-call "dsmObj.registerAll" leads to a script error in Internet Explorer.
    dsmObj.registerAll("pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/platform_add_ons/com.sap.ip.bi/iViews/com.sap.ip.bi.bex", "GUSID:6FC9SuhGDPIMMLwOdeHEIg--_7WQud13yeLJDz2kYoQFSg--", "1307605928212");
    In SP7, the method "dsmObj.registerFullKey" is called instead of "dsmObj.registerAll". This has changed in SP8.
    dsmObj.registerFullKey("GUSID:iBPvyska9*xE_JBalkQG2g--YyKv2C3NToP0I79Mw7EO8w--", "1307606479963");
    The object "dsmObj" seems to reference the parent frame of the Enterprise Portal.
    Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas how we can fix this?
    Kind regards,
    Matthias
