Links within Workbook stay connected to Original Workbook

Question

Good day,
I have created a Workbook with multiple worksheets that have links between the worksheets (all within the same workbook). For example purposes, we'll call this Workbook A.
I have a user that goes and opens Workbook A and saves this as Workbook B. (This is how we copy workbooks). However, all the links within Workbook B still reference Workbook A.
Is this something that can be changed dynamically or would each link have to be modified to now point to Workbook B?

Well, it gets back to something I've been preaching for years ... however getting all companies to do it is another matter.
If we're talking Oracle Apps, then:
1. create an Oracle Apps user with access to nothing in Apps (ie: no menu, etc. - yes this can be done) and call it something like: CORP or DISCO or DISCO_REPS, etc.
2. 1 or a few people in the company are the 'gatekeepers' of this account and they perform all new report creation on a corporate standard basis (look and feel, correctness, etc.)
3. share the CORP standard reports with the responsibilities that are allowed to run them
4. if a user has created a report that is useful and used by others, get them to share it with CORP and corporize it (look, feel, correctness, etc.)
5. then any user using a CORP report (ie: reports say the owner first so you'll see something like: CORP:GL Budgets) is guaranteed that if there's any problem, CORP will fix it - it's a stanrdard
6. any user copying the report (ie: their name will be on it such as: MARGE:GL Budgets For Jan/2009) has no support for their own altered reports
7. at the point of copying - in your case - they'll just have to learn how to relink the worksheets
You now have a good system.
In my experience, probably 60% - 70% of clients I recommend this to do it. The others - well they have a mess and it'll stay a mess.
We all hear managers say "but the end user should be empowered to create their own reports". Ya' - well good luck. As most companies find out - their users have problems and consultants (thank goodness) have to come rescue them periodically.
Anyway, that's what I would push and then you can work on the angle that a user copying a CORP report just has to know if the report has links. By the way, the link concept is good, but again IMO, vastly underused and I'm surprised if you have a lot of them.
