Linux, Chrome, and power of Android apps
@Jimmy T.
have chromes remote desktop app installed but I dident think their app would allow me to punch in an IP of a local machine and control it, it also does not support remote FX. Please do correct me if I'm missing something as that would be easier.
So for a long time (since Ubuntu 7.10) I have been playing with Linux, different distros, different systems and about 6 months ago I fully switched my work notebook to running Linux as my primary OS, its been great! but as we all know sometimes its really nice to have the apps that you've been using on windows (one-note is one im still looking to find a good replacement for. I have recently discovered ARC Welder, a chrome plugin that lets you run android apps on top of chrome EPIC! I was wondering if anyone else had been doing this Iv been using it to use the android Microsoft remote desktop client and that works surprisingly well haven't gotten one note to work so that's still running threw the web app which stinks but ya, wondered if anyone else had tried this at all. Publishing mobile and desktop applications - Android APP
I successfully published an .apk to my android phone, but in the message "The APK was was successfully packaged NOTE The application has been packaged with a shared runtime.
Then I get a message on my phone that I need to install Adobe Air on the phone,
instal, accept, success then select the app icon on the phone screen
app opens to correct page but the dimensions of the stage are small and the text where I have buttons is way too small to tap by finger. How can I make the stage responsive so I can pinch and make bigger?
The phone is a Samsung Galaxy exhibit screen size is only 3.5 x 2.5 inches approx.
RMDHi
I don't think it would be possible to do this much of personalization based on device through which a page is being accessed. We were also having similar kind of requirement wherein we need to display the data of a self service application page on to mobile device. As in mobile device number of fields that can be displayed in a good manner was very less so we developed a complete separate pages that were specially designed as per mobile device only.
Thanks

The only app that will run is Google Chrome and non-internet using apps.
My Droid is almost 2 years old and has been working perfectly. I just received a notification that I would be eligible for an upgrade in May, along with contract renewal. Three days later, my phone will NOT connect to any internet-based apps, such as: Facebook, Instagram, SnapChat, Imgur, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc. However, Google Chrome is working perfectly, with the exception of any "mobile-based" sites. For example, I can log in to my Facebook account and browse as long as it is not the mobile version of the site. Does anyone have any answers as to why this would be happening? I haven't been able to locate any answers. Thank you in advance!
That's definitely strange, kzmidge. I want a working phone in your hands though. I noticed you mentioned you received the suggestion to complete a reset. Did you already do that? Is it working again? Are you receiving an error message?
If you hesitated a little longer to complete the reset, you can try to place your phone into Safe Mode http://vz.to/rxg0ii and see if you can access mobile sites from your browser. This mode will stop 3rd party applications from running, so you won't be able to use the apps you mentioned but we may be able to narrow down the trouble in Safe Mode. If the mobile sites work, that means the trouble may be in a recently downloaded application and you may be able to avoid the reset my uninstalling some of your more recently installed applications. If it's still giving you trouble, the reset http://vz.to/18wzOCi is the next best step.

Hi Russa1
I think Moses answered the Sync Question but as for:
"delete a listing of 'Top Sites'"
in Firefox 29 released April 29, 2014 you can now hide top sites:

If you've upgraded to OS 10.2.1.x on your BB10 device you can now install any free Android app directly to your BB10 smartphone directly without any special converting and without the need to connect to your PC. This opens up BB10 to the thousands of Android apps available in the Google Play store. However, you need an app to quickly search for and install these Android apps.
The best app available so far is called Snap. Unfortunately, Snap can't be installed directly to the device since it's a native BlackBerry app and is not yet available in the BlackBerry App Store. However, it can be quickly loaded to your BB10 device using your PC.
Here is a quick and easy way of installing Snap on your BB10 device using your PC. Once Snap is installed on your device you won't need your computer to install Android apps on your device!
1. Download Sachesi for your computer Platform, i.e. Windows, Mac, Linux (Don't download the Sachesi bar file for BlackBerry or the apk file for Android)
Sachesi
2. Download Snap from here:
Snap
3. Connect your BB with the USB cable.
4. Double click on the Sachesi app you downloaded.
5. When it opens, click the "Install" tab. (If your device requires a password enter it here.)
6. Drag the Snap bar filed you downloaded in step 2 into the box under the install tab. As soon as you drop the file it will load to the device.
7. That's it! You can disconnect your device and enjoy direct downloading of Android apps on your BB10 device by opening Snap and using your Google Account.
Note: Not all Android apps will run on the BB10 and, occasionally, an app will not work quite as expected. However, the vast majority do run normally.

Hello John_Clark Excellent contribution. Valuable information for all who want to upgrade and not wait until the update is releasedby our operator. It would also make a good listing of operators which has released 10.2.1
And which have not yet released. Regards. -
PlayBook Help with Android Apps / Google Apps ** Advice Needed Plz **
Good Evening Everyone, I need some help and advice please regarding a Playbook.
I had a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7" and found that firstly i could not move apps to SD Card so i sold it.
But now i want to buy a Blackberry Playbook and understand that Android Apps are on the new software update.
But i am trying to find out if i can buy them from Google Android Apps as i have a Google Account and used to buy android apps from there, can they be used on the Playbook??
Finally can someone advise me if there is a SD Card external port if i wanted to add a extra 32GB of storage. Looked everywhere on the Spec but with no joy finding out.
Any help and suggestions would be really Handy.
Its Nearly 2013 so wishing you all a Happy New Year.
Solved!
Go to Solution.1) a far as I know, no SDcard reader available for the PlayBook currently.
2) Android apps, that you can download from the Google Play with your Google Account will not work on anything else than an Android powered tablet.
3) what you have certainly read on the internet, is that "the PlayBook can run Android apps", which is not exactly true.
What is true is this, and you will be quite disappointed:
A) applications for the PlayBook are either web applications (like GMail using the browser), or applications installed from the App World (it is a Blackberry store, just like the AppStore for iOS or Google Play for Android).
B) for a given developer that has developped an application for Android, it is very easy to convert their app to the BlackBerry format, and publish it on the App World.
====> basically, if you want to install an application that is available for Android, you have to wait for the developer to port the application to the BlackBerry PlayBook.
for the financial issues, I believe that if you buy an app on Google Play, and the app is available on the App World, then you have to buy it again (and vice versa).
I will end by saying that if the only reason for you to sell your Galaxy Tab 2, is that the apps cannot be moved to the SDCard, then I am not sure the PlayBook will suit your needs for that aspect.

Before update, I have just downloaded a trial version of Star Craft II for playing. It was playing well until somehow my iMac lost its network connection from my home wifi router. Because StarCraft seems to need network connection, then the whole SC hang forever and I can't close it. So I am forced to power off the iMac and restart. After restart it is playable again. Then I turn off computer, after a while then I turn on, and proceed the software upgrade of my iMac. After reboot, it is crashing. Chrome, Flash, Star Craft,...I dont know what else is crashing. Safari and Firefox seem working.
Thanks for helpingThank you very much. But the new account still encountering the crash. And not only Chrome, apps like iPhoto also crashed:

What do I do? Help -
How do I stop an app from waiting? I have tried to reboot by holding the home key and power button to power down. The app is still grayed out and waiting so it cannot be deleted. Also, I have tried to sync the apps from my laptop and tried downloading new appswith no success. Can you help? Thanks
If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.

Another thing to try - Turn the iPad Off & then back ON.
If that doesn't work:
• Log out of your iTunes store account. Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
• Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
• After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

I develop an Office Mail App which is used in Exchange 2013 On-Premises in my test lab. The mail app is hosted on IIS 8 (Windows Server 2012 R2) in the same LAN and ActiveDirectory domain.
Opening popup windows from the mail app does only work in IE, not in Chrome and Firefox.
Here are the details:
The following server and domain names are changed to hide our internal names. I adjusted the error messages accordingly.
Exchange 2013 is available at https://e13.some.dom/owa...
The app content comes from https://server.some.dom/...
Both the app and exchange server have valid SSL certicates.
Both server URLs are listed in the popup exception lists of the browsers I use.
The app generates html with an element which uses onclick to open another item in the same mailbox in a new browser window. Like so:
<a onclick="window.open('https://e13.some.dom/owa/#viewmodel=ReadMessageItem&ItemID=SomeValidID', '_blank', 'width=600,height=400');">click me</a>
Clicking that link in Internet Explorer (11.0.9600.17105; Update Versions: 11.0.7) opens a new browser window and shows the message specified with "SomeValidID". All good.
When I use Chrome (Version 34.0.1847.131 m) the popup browser window opens. I see some progress text "Starting..." and "Almost there..." and then this error:
something went wrong

Firefox 29.0 pops up the window as well. Shows "Starting..." and "Almost there..." and then this error (some text is german although the mailbox language is set to english, its basically the same error intro text like in Chrome):

In Firefox I see the popOutManager-access with "permission denied", but the popup window itself was already opened.
Seems like the opened popup window tries to open another window?
When I open up a new browser window in Chrome or Firefox manually and paste the URL (https://e13.some.dom/owa/#viewmodel=ReadMessageItem&ItemID=SomeValidID) manually in the address bar the message is shown correctly, so the URL itself does not seem to be
the problem.
Double clicking on messages in Chrome and Firefox opens those messages in new windows as well. So it does not seem to be a general popup problem in Chrome and Firefox as well.
Any ideas how I get the popups from my mail app working in Chrome and Firefox as well?

IPhone keyboard a strange color and quits in Google app and Chrome app
I'm experiencing strange behavior on my iPhone 4s (iOS version 6.1.3) in two apps: Google Search and Chrome. In these apps, when I invoke the virtual keyboard, it is an odd light violet color rather than the normal black/white/gray color. The keyboard will work in Google Search, but the first keyboard character you touch in the Chrome app makes the entire keyboard disappear. I have reset the phone and also deleted both apps and reinstalled as already purchased apps from the App Store. I have searched the web to see if I could find anyone else who might have this problem, but I've found nothing. The only things that an Apple technician at my local Apple Store suggested were to restore the phone from iCloud or a local copy in iTunes. (I'm saving this strategy as a last ditch effort, as I don't really think this will solve the problem.) This same Apple tech also suggested that I post here in the Apple Support Communities. Anyone out there have any ideas or suggestions about this problem?
I finally relented and did a full restore of my iPhone, and this has fixed the problem.

Dreamweaver and PhoneGap: How to Edit the Application Manifest for an Android app
I successfully created an Android app using dreamweaver cs6 and the PhoneGap build service. I submitted the app and it is live in Google Play. The only problem is that the app is requiring all kinds of permissions from users that are not necessary for the app. The app requires Internet access, but it does not require access to the camera or the user's contacts, etc. I understand that this information is held in the Application Manifest file, but I don't know where that file is.
Can you help me figure out how to edit the Application Manifest file for my android app?
Thanks,
MichaelTo edit permissions, you do so in the config.xml file. After making changes, you can directly upload on build.phonegap.com or from within Dreamweaver.
See this page for info on customizing config.xml: https://build.phonegap.com/docs/config-xml#features -
Hello All,
i ve created a native android app. I need to publish on a 2560x1600 android tab. the problem is that in my library i have my 2048x1536 and 1024x768 ipad version.
I know that when i create my native Android app i should be able to chose my rendition in only 2560x1600 but in the Library Tab of de web android native app builder I only see the 2048x1536 and 1024x768 option.
Please do you have an idea ?
TXThe dropdown only lists the folio sizes you have published in your app's publication account. Make sure you've actually published a 2560x1600 folio and then you'll be able to select it from the dropdown.

How to install iphone and Android Apps in Mobiles
I would like to install top Indian social network “bharatstudent.com” [www.bharatstudent.com/bsmobile.php#1] iphone apps, android apps in my mobile. But I am unable to understand that procedure, If you have any idea about installation of apps in mobiles, please suggest me step by step.
Thanks in advance
PayalghoshA Plug_in normally come with an installer or install instructions. Check the documentation for the plug-in you trying to install. It sounds like you don't know what plug-ins you want to install. In that case you don't need to install any. At some point you may read about a plug-in and what it can do and feel you have a need for it. Then you will have a reason to install a plug-in that is not installed by default. There may also be a cost involved most worthwhile plug-ins are not free.
Adobe Optional Plug_ins downloads are Plugins Adobe want to remove from Photoshop and no longer install by default. Also at some point in time these will no longer install into the current Photoshop for Adobe will remove feature or interfaces the use. For example the CS5 optional plugins will install in Windows CS6 perpetual version 13.0.1.3 but not in Subscription version 13.1.2 or perpetual Mac version 13.0.6 fot its 64bit only and the Mac CS5 optional plug-in for Picture package is only a 32bit plug-in.
You will need to keep and maintain old versions of Photoshop if Adobe remove features you use in new versions of Photoshop. -
I went to update my iPhone 4 to the new iOS 7 but needed to create some space. After deleting a couple of apps, my home and power buttons now aren't responding.
Has this happened to anyone else before? I've read that a back up and restore might help.

Worst at the moment is the crap scrolling in Chrome and some other apps.
