LIS reports in BI

Hi,
Are there any LIS reports in the PP/MM/WM area which can be developed and run in BI ? My client wants to start expanding the use of BI. Is it even possible to move LIS reports to BI and if yes which ones would be moved first ?
Thanks
GS

Hi GS:
I suppose you're working with LIS on the R/3 side and your customer is planning to move to the "new" Logistics Cockpit Available for BW-BI. For starters I reccommend you to take a look at the excelent logistics blogs series provided by Roberto Negro. (Not to mention there's an excelent discussion about the differences and pros/cons related to LIS and Logistics Cockpit Extractors).

    Hi,
Check in SPRO > Materials Management > Purchasing > Statistics > Assign Update Group to Item Categories - Here Update Group "SAP" should be assigned to all the Item Cats.
In SAP Easy Access Screen, enter transaction as SAP2 and Press enter, it will show the Info Catalog Report screen.

  • LIS Reporting of Valuated Project Stock

We have a scenario where we have materials that are used both as valuated project stock and plant stock.  Plant stock goes to normal orders.  For the projects, the material is manufactured and goes into valuated project stock.  So the same material can be valuated as plant stock and project stock.  An example might be:
Item A    50 in plant stock
                      10 for project A
                        5 for project B
Some reporting works well.  MMBE for example faihfuly reports these values.  MBBS is correct.   MB5L shows good integrity between all accounts.
The inventory LIS reports are messed up.  MC.1 reports odd values including the project valuation class which SAP says it will not report.
Does SAP Inventory LIS (MC.1 etc..) handle the situation where a material has multiple valuation classes and can be used in diferent way?  Is there a fix for this problem?
The ultimate requirement is to have stock history similar to plant stock but for project stock.

  • What is meant by LIS Reports.

What is meant by LIS Reports. What is the use of this in R/3 Application.
    Thanks and Regards,
    YSR.

The SAP System offers you a wide range of information and analysis tools for sales and distribution. These provide you with a quick overview of your current business situation.
eg: You want to determine how many orders customer XY issued in the last quarter. To see this information, you can execute the report “List orders”. This gives you a list of orders and also contains information on the items, order value etc. You can set the scope of this list yourself.

  • LIS (Report: MCTE) is not getting updated

    Dear All,
We have created a New Profit/ Cost Center and then created a Substitution Rule, based up on Sales Org+Dist ChnlDivision+Sales Office_
Then we have created delivery and then Invoicing. Accounting Document has been generated and G/L A/Cs have been hit, accordingly.
Now, when we refer to Standard Report: MCTE, (for above said Sales Area), Report shows No data for chosen criteria.
Here, I would like to mention that all required configuration for LIS Updation,
    SPRO --> IMG --> Logistics-General --> LIS --> Logistics Data Warehouse --> Updating --> Updating Control --> Settings: Sales --> Update Group
--> Assign Update Group at Item Level
--> Assign Update Group at Header Level
have already been maintained before Sales Order Creation.
Moreover, the same config-settings is working fine at our Quality-Server, whereas, Its not working on to PRD-Server.
Couls anybody suggest, some more checks to perform?
    Best Regards,
    Amit

    Hi Amit,
When you moved your changes to Production Server and then after you have created a document for the above mentioned Sales Area. Now is this document also not coming up in the Report?
If yes then can you please tell me what value has got Updated in the Database Table both at Header and Item level in the Field Update group.?
    Madhukar.

  • LIS Reporting

    Dear Gurus,
I have configure LIS in the system, after posting the invoice I run the report, mark related checks in customer and in material master.
System shows the correct amount of "selling" and "billing quantity" in report MC+E report. but the column "Gross Sales" and "Invoice Sales Cost" is don't show any data, its blank.
Will you please guide me what other area need to be configure to call this data too, or is there any mistake I have made so far.
    Looking for gurus feedback.
    Regards,

    Hi Imran,
that will depend on your price procedure.
    As guideline:
In custo (tcode MC23) display info structure S001 and in key figures column double click on field gross order. Ther you´ll the field used for structure updates KZWI1 meaning subtotal 1 in your price procedure

    3. I appreciate if some one can give me how to generate report thru LIS
    Thank you
    ANil

    Hi,
The LIS is a central integrated information system where one can create specific tables that are updated at specific stages and that can be used to report on values contained in specific fields. SAP has standard information structures for reporting purposes. The std info structures can be accessed via: LOSDSISStandard analysis. The reports use the following characteristics: customer, material, sales org, shipping point, sales employee, and sales office.
IMG menu path for SIS: IMG>Logistics General>Logistics Information System (LIS)
The Logistics data warehouse is divided into two main sections: data basis and updating. Data basis is responsible for the actual design of the info structure, that is, what key fields are reported on or displayed. Updating is responsible for the updating rules used by the system, determining how the info structure is to be updated, and when this updating is to take place.
Task 1: Create Self-Defined Information Structure
Use transaction code MC21 (menu path Logistics Data Warehouse>Data Basis>Information Structures>Maintain self-defined information structures> Create) to create a Self-Defined Information Structure. Give a customer-range number 990 (any available number between 501 and 999). To make it easier, use ‘copy from’ to copy structure from S001.
    Task 2: Maintain Update Groups
SIS IMG>Logistics Data Warehouse>Updating>Updating Definition>General Definition Using Update Groups>Maintain Update Groups
You can use the existing system-delivered update groups. Use Update Group (UpdGrp) 1 for the standard order process of: SIS: Sales Document, Delivery, Billing Document and use UpdGrp 2 for the SIS: Returns, Returns Delivery, Credit Memo.
    Task 3: Maintain Update Rules
SIS IMG>Logistics Data Warehouse>Updating>Updating Definition>Specific definition using Update Rules>Maintain Update Rules>Create Create (transaction code MC24). To make it easier, use ‘copy from’ to copy update rules from S001.
Please make sure the Source information is properly updated for all the characteristics. Since you copied the rules, the sales order and item rules are defaulted too. Make sure appropriate changes are made for events VC (delivery) and VD (Invoice).
    Task 4: Maintain Statistics Groups
    Maintain Statistics Groups
Maintain Statistics Groups for Customers, Materials, and SD Document Types etc. Most of the pre-defined settings are enough. Make sure that settings are updated for customized objects too, e.g., SD document types for your organizations.
Also, make sure that the customer (sales view) and material Master records are updated with appropriate Statistics Groups.
Maintain Statistics Groups for Customers, Material and Sales documents. Assign Statistics Groups for relevant Sales Document Type, item type, delivery type, item type, Determine Billing Document Types Relevant to Statistics.
Update Customer Master for Statistics Relevancy
Transaction Code XD02 (Sales view, field “Cust stats.Grp”)
    Update Material for Statistics Relevancy
Transaction Code MM02 (Sales 2 view, field “Matl statistics grp”)
Task 5: Assign Update Groups to Header and Item Levels
Assign Update Groups on Header and Item levels
For combinations of Sales Area (Sales Org, Distribution Channel, Division), assign Update groups (transaction codes OVRO and OVRP).
    SIS IMG>Logistics Data Warehouse>Updating>Updating Control>Settings: Sales>Update Group
    Update Groups at Item Level
    Update Groups at Header Level
    Task 6: Activate SIS Update
Lastly, Activate SIS Update for the Structure (transaction code OMO1)
SIS IMG path: Logistics Data Warehouse>Updating>Updating Control>Activate Update>Choose Activity as Sales and Distribution.
Last update our SIS structure S677 with period as ‘Month’ and update option of ‘Asynchronous Updating (2)’.

  • Enquiry on standard SAP MM LIS Report

    Hi,
I would like to know whether is there any standard SAP MM report that can be used to display all completed/closed LIV for vendors, based on date ranges?
I have tried to use MCE3 or MC$4 but vendors with no LIV made are also shown.
I only need to display those vendors with closed IR, say for 1 year.
Appreciate if any expert can advise, thanks

    Hi Prabu,
My system said MIR5 does not exist. Is there any other program to view closed LIV for PO?
    thanks

  • Lis i m nt able to see reports

dear gurus while creating reports in sales information system showing no data exist but data
are there is there any process to update data in SIS.

    dear tripathy
    SIS configuration steps
Task 1: Create Self-Defined Information Structure
    • Use transaction code MC21 (menu path Logistics Data Warehouse>Data Basis>Information Structures>Maintain self-defined information structures> Create) to create a Self-Defined Information Structure. Give a customer-range number 990 (any available number between 501 and 999). To make it easier, use ‘copy from’ to copy structure from S001.
    Figure 2: Create a Self-Defined Info Structure
Figure 3: Structure S990 is created as a copy of S001
Structure S990 is created as a copy of S001. Accordingly, you will see defaulted characteristics and key figures. Review various settings (unit, sum, etc.).
    • Add two more characteristics: Sales Order Number and Item Number.
Click on ‘Choose Characteristics’ Icon and then click on ‘Selection List’ icon to choose fields from ‘field catalogs’.
Choose field catalog ‘SD: Bus transaction (order)’ by double-clicking it. Double-click on ‘Sales Document’ and ‘Sales document item’ from ‘field catalog fields’ (you may need to scroll-down).
Figure 4: Choose fields ‘Sales Document’ and ‘Sales Document Item’ from Field Catalog
You can view technical names by toggling the Switch Display icon.
Figure 5: ‘Switch display’ to view technical names
Make sure that you have selected correct characteristics as: ‘MCVBAK-VBELN’ and ‘MCVBAP-POSNR’.
Click on ‘Copy + Close’ icon and then click on ‘Copy’ icon to accept the changes.
    • Review information
Double-click on characteristics and key figures to review technical information. This step is not mandatory, just for information.
Figure 6: Review technical field information for characteristics: Customer (KUNNR), Sales Order (VBELN), Item (POSNR) and Key figures: Incoming Order (AENETWR), Open Order (OAUWE)
    System displays the generation log.
Figure 7: Generation log for Structure S990. Table S990E is ‘Structural Information’ for Table S990
    Task 2: Maintain Update Groups
    • SIS IMG>Logistics Data Warehouse>Updating>Updating Definition>General Definition Using Update Groups>Maintain Update Groups
Figure 8: Update Groups for Sales and Distribution
No new entries need to be created.
    • SIS IMG>Logistics Data Warehouse>Updating>Updating Definition>Specific definition using Update Rules>Maintain Update Rules>Display
Info Structure S001 and Update Group 1.
Before we create update rules for S990, let's review how update rules are defined for S001. Review rules for Characteristics and key figures.

Figure 11: Update rules for Key Figure ‘Sales’
    Figure 12: Characteristics for ‘Sales’
    • Similar to Update Rules of ‘S001’, we need to create Update Rules for our Self-Defined Structure ‘S990’.
SIS IMG>Logistics Data Warehouse>Updating>Updating Definition>Specific definition using Update Rules>Maintain Update Rules>Create (transaction code MC24).

Figure 14: Source Characteristics for Sales Document and Item
Since we copied the Update Rules, the source field and table information is also copied. We need to change appropriately to make sure correct source information is populated. Click on “Rules for charact” and verify source information for every key figure, by clicking on ‘previous key figure’ and ‘next key figure’.

  • MC$4 report shows PO value in wrong currency

MC$4 report shows PO value in wrong currency EUR (EURO) eventhough PO
was created with SEK (swiss) currency. Report picks data from info
table S012 that also reflects wrong currency.
    Please check attached example....
Currency is getting picked up in table S012 info-structure from company
code table T001 (PO belongs to) not from purchase order.
This is certainly bug in standard SAP LIS report. This is inbuilt LIS feature given by SAP & we cannot do any fixing.
Can you provide solution how we can correct this error. How to display correct currency in report & info-structure S012.

    hi
in the report the system might be taking the co code currency
what u have to do is go to  MC$4  press ctrl+F7
u will get the currency change option change it to what u want
