List of Acrobat tools internal names

Does anyone know where there is a current list of the tools for example "Hand" "Ink" for Acrobat XI? I have tried programmatically to retrieve these, first using the JavaScript app.listToolbarButtons but that doesn't work anymore and then enumerating the AVTools and using GetType() which should return an ASAtom, but this crashes on most of the tools. I need to be able to use AVAppSetActiveTool() to respond to tools on an interactive device that would be mapped to Acrobat tools.

listToolbarButtons definitely is not working. Using it in the Javascript console returns nothing. The fact is that I need the names of other tools - for example the erase free from tool and can't find any documentation anywhere that contains this information. I would be most grateful if someone could point me to this (even in another older SDK).

    Hi,
    You can get the display name of fields with typedisplayname property.For more information,you can refer to the article:

  • Accessing Internal Names for ToolBar Buttons

    Hi,
    I'm trying to access three toolbar buttons [Movie Tool, 3D Tool, and TouchUp Object Tool]. In order for me to execute these toolbar buttons I need to know their corresponding internal names.
    There is a general list of Toolbar Buttons [such as Advanced Editing, Tools, File, ...] in the Developer Guide, but again it did not mention anything about the three above.
    If anyone could help me out as to what the internal names of Movie, 3D, and TouchUp Tools, I would really appreciate it.
    I'm developing an application in C++ using OLE to Remotely control Adobe Acrobat 3D. So I need to access these specific toolbar buttons for my application.
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi miniCooper,
    Here are a couple resources for you that provide how to create easier to digest reports listing Acrobat's Menu Item and Toolbar button names-
    1.
    This page has a free tool for creating a report with the names in an easy to read format -scroll down to the item "Menu Item and Toolbar button Report Generator."
    2. This article
    Executing Acrobat Menu Items from JavaScript describes how to list Menu Item names but you can substitute app.listToolbarButtons in place of app.listMenuItems to get results for toolbar buttons instead.
    Hope this helps,

  • Some fonts have wrong "internal names," won't display properly in font menu

    Several fonts which I have acquired over the years have a peculiar but bothersome problem.
    The fonts' "file names" in the Finder are perfectly fine, and the files are named what they're supposed to be named. And when the fonts are "installed," they work perfectly fine in all applications, as they are supposed to. But here's the problem: the fonts are mis-named in each application's "font menu." In my case, most of the font names (which are of the standard English alphabet and have standard English font titles) instead appear listed as a long string of Chinese characters.
    As a random example, a font called "Holiday Ranch" made by FontDiner is not listed alphabetically between "Hoefler" and "Impact" in my font menus, where it ought to be, but instead is listed at the end of the font menu list, after "Zapfino," as a long string of Chinese characters. This wouldn't be such a problem if there were only one or two fonts misnamed this way, but when (as I do) you have 25 fonts at the bottom of your font list, all of which are long strings of incomprehensible characters, then it becomes a problem indeed.
    The fonts come from a variety of sources, so it can't be a flaw in just one company's coding. I contacted (as per the example above) FontDiner, but so far they have no response. But for other mis-named fonts in my collection, I don't even know who designed them or where they came from, so I can't ask the designer for a solution.
    Keep in mind that all of the fonts work perfectly fine, once I've tracked them down in the big morass of hard-to-find misnamed fonts at the bottom of my font menus. They work in all Apple applications like TextEdit, they work in Adobe products like Illustrator, they work in MSWord -- they work everywhere. The only issue is the naming.
    Also, the file names are all correct. In the example above, the file name for "Holiday Ranch" is "Holiday Ranch.ttf". And when I inspect the font with Linotype's "FontExplorer X," it is listed properly as "Holiday Ranch." But here's the key: When I open the font file in Apple's "Font Book" (v.2.2.1), the name is indeed listed there as a long string of Chinese characters, and when I install it onto my computer using Font Book, it unfortunately uses that name.
    I've tried downloading a wide variety of "font tool" programs, but none have been able to fix this problem.
    I also tried (using FontExplorer X) "Cleaning system font caches" and "Cleaning application font caches" and restarting, but that had no effect whatsoever. I don't think it's an error on the part of OSX, I think that the fonts are simply misnamed internally, or that something went awry when the font designer converted the fonts from one format to another, or something like that.
    I think the simplest solution would be to just re-name the fonts internally. But how? I can't find a way to do it. Even the optimistically-named freeware program "Font Renamer" did not change the internal names.
    Has anyone else ever experienced this problem, and if so, how can it be fixed? Thanks.

    As for free downloads to play with: unfortunately, the FontDiner ones are all commercial and thus not free...
    They do have some free fonts. At the bottom of the first page (after the lead in page), click the "Free Silverware" link at the bottom. The fonts that come up on that page are all free.
    I downloaded four of those fonts at random. All work as expected. That doesn't prove though that the Holiday Ranch font doesn't have something wrong with it.
    Kurt, as I noted above, I already did empty all font cache files and restart. Unfortunately, that did not fix the problem.
    Oops! Sorry, missed that.
    So I think the problem is not that there's anything wrong with my OS, but rather that the person who made the font simply goofed when giving it a name!
    It seems to point that way, but you're seeing the issue across fonts from different vendors. I would believe it's either the OS, or Font Book itself.
    Your tagline shows you're running 10.6.4. Download and reinstall the 10.6.4 Combo updater. It's surprising how many problems go away when applying the combos.

    To remove any item from the menus...
    Right-click in the menubar area and choose Customize (a dialog box is displayed).
    Drag the unwanted menu item off of the menu and drop it over the worksheet.
    Close the dialog box.

  • Coding best practice display name vs internal name in itemUpdated event receiver

    Hi,
    In an itemupdated event receiver, when referring to list fields, is it better to use the field's internal name, or its display name?
    Is there a clear guideline or best practice, or is this a subjective discussion?
    Thanks in advance for your replies

    Hi Jorge,
    One of the best practice I follow is Repository pattern for list access, on that scenario I always use Internal Names.
    The rational behind this decision is Fristly, I will have full control, Secondly I need not to worry about column names changes by business/endusers through SharePoint UI which I cannot control of. Though we had governance in place and trained
    the users, still no avail, users will go and change the column names.
    Thirdly, My code will not break when there is a display name change. One of my client was too UI rather than business logic, since the enduser are high profile managers, spacing between columns and readabiltily are first class citizen.  Those changes
    that we made to the list library did not affect our code and the application was running without code refactoring.
    Backto your question, I will use Internal names in my CAML query to minimize error as follows
    item["internalName"]
    Your question is subjective, I have not seen any best practices on this subject, being said that, if you are looking for best practice and guidance I would suggest you to start here -
    SharePoint 2010 Guidance
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff770300.aspx ( no idea on SP 2013 guidance availablity)
    Go through the code and doc, You will get the design rational behind each choice.
    Hope this helps!

  • C#/REST Getting files in a document library using Internal Name

    Hi Folks,
    I need to get a list of files in a SP2010 and SP2013 document library using the REST API - this is occurring inside a timer service application so am using C#.  As a constraint I need to use the internal names for the document libraries - primarily
    because users tend to change the display name and this is an automated service.
    When I make a call to _api/web/GetFolderByServerRealitveUrl('/Shared Documents')/Files  I get a bunch of XML but how do I get just a list of filename+ext.   I am using Xdocument (LINQ to XML). I need to retrieve the name property in the
    contents sub element for all files returned.
    Second question, how to I change this to use the internal name '/Document' instead of '/Shared Document', so that it copes with users changing the display name of document libraries.
    Regards
    Andy

    Hi Andy,
    1.For your issue, you can refer to the code as below:
    using System.Xml;
    namespace REST_XML_LIST_GET
    class Program
    static XmlNamespaceManager xmlnspm = new XmlNamespaceManager(new NameTable());
    static Uri sharepointUrl = new Uri("Site URL/");
    static void Main(string[] args)
    xmlnspm.AddNamespace("atom", "http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom");
    xmlnspm.AddNamespace("d", "http://schemas.microsoft.com/ado/2007/08/dataservices");
    xmlnspm.AddNamespace("m", "http://schemas.microsoft.com/ado/2007/08/dataservices/metadata");
    NetworkCredential cred = new System.Net.NetworkCredential("username", password", "domain");
    HttpWebRequest listRequest = (HttpWebRequest)HttpWebRequest.Create(sharepointUrl.ToString() + "_api/Web/lists/getByTitle('List Name')/items");
    listRequest.Method = "GET";
    listRequest.Accept = "application/atom+xml";
    listRequest.ContentType = "application/atom+xml;type=entry";
    listRequest.Credentials = cred;
    HttpWebResponse listResponse = (HttpWebResponse)listRequest.GetResponse();
    StreamReader listReader = new StreamReader(listResponse.GetResponseStream());
    var listXml = new XmlDocument();
    listXml.LoadXml(listReader.ReadToEnd());
    //Method 1 Seperate node list
    var titleList = listXml.SelectNodes("//atom:entry/atom:content/m:properties/d:Title", xmlnspm);
    var idList = listXml.SelectNodes("//atom:entry/atom:content/m:properties/d:ID", xmlnspm);
    int i = 0;
    foreach (XmlNode title in titleList)
    Console.WriteLine(title.InnerXml+" "+idList[i++].InnerXml);
    //Method 2 single node list
    var prop = listXml.SelectNodes("//atom:entry/atom:content/m:properties", xmlnspm);
    foreach (XmlNode ndlist in prop)
    Console.WriteLine(ndlist.SelectSingleNode("d:Title", xmlnspm).InnerXml + " " + ndlist.SelectSingleNode("d:ID", xmlnspm).InnerXml);
    Console.ReadLine();
    2. For a workaround, you can get the display name based on the internal name and use the display name in the Rest API.

  • How to find the list of un used table names in a schema?

    Hi,
    I have a doubt in Oracle. The doubt is that If we are using any tables in Function Or Proc.... Then...We can list all those used table names from USER_DEPENDENCIES system table. Right...
    But, If the table is used with Execute Immediate Statement, then, those table names are not coming out with USER_DEPENDENCIES system table. Because they are identified at run time and not compile time.
    It is fine. And I agree.. But, If I want to list out those tables also...then...How to do? Any idea?
    I think ‘USER_SOURCE’ system table may not be the right one. If there is any other system table avails for this purpose...then..it would be very grateful to extract right...
    So I am wanting that exact system table.
    Please let me know about this, if you have any idea or check with your friends if they have any idea.
    Regards,
    Subramanian G

    Hi Guys,
    Thanks for all your answers.
    Yes....You are all right. We can list out the used tables upto certain extent. Anyhow, I have done some R&D to derive the SQL's which is given below:
    SELECT TABLE_NAME FROM USER_TABLES
    MINUS
    SELECT DISTINCT UPPER(REFERENCED_NAME)
    FROM user_dependencies
    where
    referenced_type='TABLE' and UPPER(NAME) in
    select distinct UPPER(object_name) from user_objects where UPPER(object_type) in
    'MATERIALIZED VIEW',
    'PACKAGE',
    'PACKAGE BODY',
    'PROCEDURE',
    'TRIGGER',
    'VIEW',
    'FUNCTION'
    UNION
    SELECT UT.TABLE_NAME FROM
    SELECT TABLE_NAME FROM USER_TABLES
    MINUS
    SELECT DISTINCT UPPER(REFERENCED_NAME)
    FROM user_dependencies
    where
    referenced_type='TABLE' and UPPER(NAME) in
    select distinct UPPER(object_name) from user_objects where UPPER(object_type) in
    'MATERIALIZED VIEW',
    'PACKAGE',
    'PACKAGE BODY',
    'PROCEDURE',
    'TRIGGER',
    'VIEW',
    'FUNCTION'
    AND REFERENCED_OWNER=(SELECT sys_context('USERENV', 'CURRENT_SCHEMA') FROM dual)
    ) UT,
    ( SELECT * FROM USER_SOURCE
    WHERE NAME IN
    ( SELECT DISTINCT NAME FROM USER_SOURCE
    WHERE TYPE NOT IN ('TYPE')
    AND
    UPPER(TEXT) LIKE '%EXECUTE IMMEDIATE%'
    ) US
    WHERE
    UPPER(US.TEXT) LIKE '%'||UPPER(UT.TABLE_NAME)||'%'
    AND
    (UPPER(US.TEXT) NOT LIKE '%--%')
    The above SQL Query can list out unused tables by checking the Dynamic SQL Statement also upto some level only.
    Once we extracted the list of unused tables, having a manual check would be also greater to verify as it is should not impact the business applications.

    Subramanian G

  • Selecting a list of files and creating a list of only the file names?

    Hopefully this is an easy question, one that I can't seem to figure out. I have a folder of photos and I would like to select all their file names and create a text list of just the file names. Every time I try I select the photos themselves and when pasted into my text document all of a sudden I have a lot of images. Any advice on how to do this? Thanks Jeff

    You're part way there. Do this in TextEdit. Open a new document, CMDSHIFTT to put it into plain text format, paste in the contents of your photo folder, and be surprised when only the names get pasted and not the images. If you want them in alphabetical order, change the photo folders view to list and click on the name column before copying.

    The dark bar is caused by the option "Show metadata below image".
    Check the settings for the metadata overlays in Grid view (basic and expanded) by clicking the little "badge" icon below the Browser and selecting "Edit". Is the filename still enabled in the list? And in a high enough position to have precedence for other metadata tags, if the space does not suffice to show all selected tags?

    I want to convert a series of names into a table (in either numbers or pages). The list I have has a name and then an email address in brackets, followed by a 'yes' or a 'no'. I would like to separate the list into three columns - the first containing the name, the second containing the email address and the third containing the 'yes' or 'no'.
    Can you help me ?

    The question that needs to be answered is what is separating the columns? Is it a single tab, one or more tabs, spaces, or what?  Or is it the brackets that makes the separation between the three pieces of data?
    If it is always a single tab, that makes it really easy.  All you have to do is find/replace the brackets with nothing (as Wayne said)
    If it might be multiple tabs, you can find/replace tab-tab with a single tab and repeat that a few times until no more double-tabs are found.
    If it is one or multiple spaces, that might be difficult. I'll think about this one if this is what you have. I'll ignore this possiblility for now.
    If it is the brackets separating the three pieces of data, you would Find/Replace the left bracket with a tab then do the same with the right bracket.
