List of systems that can / cannot be configured to accept SAP SSO

Hi All,
this may sound like a strange request, but I'm in search of a list that shows examples of common systems that cannot(!) be configured to use SAP SSO tickets.
The reason is that we are evaluating various SSO infrastructures for a client. IBM WebSeal is already in use there but connecting new systems is expensive. We are trying to avoid problems that may arise in the future should we decide for SAP-SSO only.
Thanks a lot,
Jens

Hi Jens,
as far as I know there is no such list. However, I will share a thought or two on the topic. Basically, he SAP Logon Ticket is a HTTP cookie. The backend system has to able to receive and understand the ticket issued by the portal. By default most SAP systems are able to receive and accept SAP Logon Tickets. No suprise here. Most non-SAP systems do not process the SAP Logon Ticket by default. But there are ways to "upgrade" non-SAP systems to receive and accept the SAP Logon Ticket (see SAP Library section <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/12/9f244183bb8639e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm">Single Sign-On to Non-SAP Systems and Applications</a>. In most cases you need to modify the native authentication process. You surely won't be able to do this for every single application.
Also keep in mind that the SAP Logon Ticket requires that the user ids of the issuing system are the same as in the receiving system. Or at least the user must have the same user id in all receiving systems.
Best regards,
Martin

  • WL-JAAS-No Configuration was registered that can handle the configuration

    Hi,
    A) I am trying to run JAAS on Weblogic. We have got our own login module developed based on JAAS specification.
I have created jas.config which is as follows:
    abcjaas {
    <pkg>.DBLoginModule required
which I have included in the system properties as
    set JAVA_OPTIONS=%JAVA_OPTIONS% -Djava.security.auth.login.config=D:\BeaWL\jaas.config
    B) I had also tried setting this
set JAVA_OPTIONS=%JAVA_OPTIONS% -Dlogin.configuration.provider=com.bea.common.security.jdkutils.JAASConfiguration. This I have also tried configuring in the java.security file in the JDK folder.
While in Java code, it precisly throws error here on this statement:
    loginContext = new LoginContext("abcjaas", callHandler);
But for all the above trials, it gives the same error as follows:
    C)

    D) Kindly help, the Weblogic 10.3.0.0 running on JDK1.6 -Sun provided. I am not using the JDK1.6 in WL10.3 or its Jrockit1.6.
Please let me know the resolution.

I came across the potential fix through the document: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23717_01/doc.71/e23699/adm_troubleshoot.htm#BABIHJJF . The fix works fine.
However I would like a better explanation of the issue and the fix. The issue happens only on Solaris servers that run sftp, but not on linux servers.

After restoring a backup (iCloud), about 5% of my 225 were not restored because they did not appear over the Apple Store. How to get a list of Apps that can not be recovered?

You should be able to download any apps that are missing at no extra cost. Just go to the App Store and download them again.

  • When does d4s get added to the list of camera that can tether on Lightroom

when does d4s get added to the list of camera that can tether on Lightroom 5?

Well, I got very tired of waiting for Adobe to support my Nikons so I use a Camranger, their computer and tablet app and tether wirelessly to LR. Yes, there is a bit of a delay amounting to a few seconds but in practice my customers love it and have not complained. I use the few seconds to better connect with them, answer questions, etc. Being wireless gives me more range of movement and I have one less cord. The Camranger goes in an old phone holster that clips to my shirt or pants pocket, connected by a 3 ft cord.
You need to enable auto import in LR and point it to the folder that Camranger saves the files to. Since it is an import you can use presets if you wish. I've not seen a downside yet and Camranger has support for new cameras very quick like. An added plus is having full wireless functionality for your camera via the Camranger apps. You can change any setting, focus, use live view, etc.. using a phone, tablet or laptop.

  • Advice on Server system that can handle video and more

Our Xserve died and right now we have a temporary fix, I know it last long. We are looking into purchase a new whole system. Our workshop consists of three branches Video, Photo, and Graphic with 15 Mac Pro workstation and use Final Cut Studio. We would like a system that is fast, reliable, and with fiber capabilities. Cause, I'm clueless on how to build a system. Any advice on what is the best system, a list or anything?
    Thank you
    Luis

    There's no single "best" here.
You could configure a new Xserve to match or better the specifications of your failed Xserve boxes; if the failed box is more than a few years old, then a minimally-configured Xserve will probably have specifications past your old one.
    Gigabit networking is integrated.
You'll need to add a Fibre Channel (FC) Host Bus Adapter (HBA) if you're using external SAN storage, or (if it is compatible) transfer the FC HBA over from the previous system. (Check that you have the correct slot for it when you order the new box; you'll need to have a PCI-X or PCIe slot, depending on what the previous HBA required.)
If you're just looking for a whole lot of disk space and not re-using some existing SAN configuration, then adding a SAS adapter or analogous and an after-market external storage (RAID) array to your Xserve can usually get you equivalent capacity for less.

  • No longer have a system that can run Freehand but have 1000's of old Freehand files. Can I convert them to something CC can open, like AI?

I had a graphic design business for 10 years and at the time found Freehand to be the best solution.  Now I'm an InDesign convert but many of the old freehand files I wish I could open and convert to something in CC.  I need to rebuild my portfolio and many of those old Freehand files are great works of art.  I no longer have a system that will run Freehand, is there something I can run that would convert these files to Illustrator or something usable.  I wish adobe would at least make a patch so I can run it on my Mac long enough to get the key files I want.  Anyone have any suggestions or am I just screwed and 10 years of art is gone...

Your timing is actually good! This plugin was released this month for doing what you need into Illustrator CC:
    Tensai FH>AI Plugins
As to InDesign, I have been using FreeHandMX to export my files to PDF and trying out these two converters:
    PDF2DTP | Markzware
    PDF to InDesign converter
The Markzware converter seems better and they have been eager to hear from FreeHand users. Where conversion isn't exact is text and takes some tweaking. Also any problems Illustrator had with converting FreeHand files shows up in InDesign.
As for running FreeHand on the latest Macs, virtualization with Parallels and Fusion running Snow Leopard is successful and seamless. Also using WIN versions of FreeHand with CrossWeaver and WINE on Mavericks.

  • I have a system that can only print PCL format to a networked printer.  Can LiveCycle PDF Generator act as a solution for this?

I would also like to know if PDF Generator could then direct the created PDF based on what it contains to various e-mail accounts.

I have a main system that I can generate reports in and designate a printer to print to once the report is finished.  I want that printer to be a virtual printer that creates a PDF.  I then the ability to have that PDF auto e-mailed to some address of my choosing.  Can PDF/G do this?
    Thank you

  • Set up a system that can use iPad

What does it take to set up a system? I cant seem to to find a how to for enterprise ipad use. I want an ipad that has nothing but an RDP connection that i control.

You could via the Restrictions lock out the use of the Mail and Safari apps, and turn off the ability to install other apps. That's all you can do, though; you could not lock out all the other apps other than your RDP app. For more information, see:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4213
As to wiping remotely, you could do that via the Find My iPad service, but that's not hard to defeat. A third-party management system such as Casper from JAMF Software might offer more capabilities for both wiping and configuration.

  • List of reminder that can snooze or dismiss similar to Outlook or Gminder

    Hi there,
Does anybody know how to setup iCal or another product that works similar to Outlook reminder popup window in windows?
I'm looking for a window where you can see a list of reminders from the calendar events that later on you can snooze or dismiss (similar to Outlook or Gminder).
    Thanks,
    Diego

There used to be a way to show events by date in iCal in list format. (This as opposed to calendar-style views.) I don't see how to do this in iCal now.
The feature was nice for printing out lists of upcoming events and posting same on a bulletin board. Some people like this presentation - I thought it sucked; never used it.
Maybe the above is not what you are referring to. If you want reminders, you can set, re-set, and re-re-set alarms of upcoming events as many times as you like. In this fashion, you can set reminders for your self to check on whether subordinates are taking preparatory actions for an event in a timely manner. E.g., if a dignitary is coming you can check to see that a hotel room has been booked by someone and re-set an alarm to see if someone is making signage to guide the dignitary and guests and re-re-set to see if someone has marked a reserved parking place for the dignitary's limo and arranged for food and drink for the limo driver, etc., etc.
    Am I missing something?
    Cheers, Lock

  • Find all systems that do not have configuration manager client installed

Guys I've been installing the SCCM client however I still have a lot of systems where the client has not been installed. Is there some type of report or script that you all run in order to find out who does not have the client installed? Any help with
this is greatly appreciated. So far I have been using a log on script in order to install clients.

Are you using AD system discovery? If so you can create a collection with membership query rule looks like this:
select SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceID,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceType,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Name,SMS_R_SYSTEM.SMSUniqueIdentifier,SMS_R_SYSTEM.ResourceDomainORWorkgroup,SMS_R_SYSTEM.Client from SMS_R_System where SMS_R_System.Client is null  and SMS_R_System.OperatingSystemNameandVersion
    like "Microsoft Windows NT Workstation%"
and SMS_R_System.OperatingSystemNameandVersion like "Microsoft Windows NT Workstation%" -
Take that part out if you want both servers and workstations.

  • HT4528 How do I transfer the photos from my iPhone 4S to my Windows 7 computer or any other system that can hold 2,500 photos?

Basically, I took a ton of pictures at past concerts, formal events, etc. So I need something to transfer all of those pictures onto. I currently have 9.1 GB of photos in my iPhone which really limits me on phone space. I would like to save these photos, they are very important to me. Also, I tried this before on my Windows 7 computer but it only downloaded 850-some pictures. I figured that was from the space left on the computer, but I'm not sure. If you could help you will be my favorite.

I doubt it was space left on the computer, unless you have space problems. You would use the Import feature in Windows 7. You can also try accessing it in Windows Explorer, open the device, open the folder and drag the photos over. Because you have so many, you may run into some difficulty, because the photos should be imported regularly in case something happens to the phone. That many photos also probably makes it difficult to backup, or at least take a long time to do it.
