Problem while calling concsub from shell script
Hi All,
I am facing problem when I am trying to run CONCSUB utility from shell script.The same works well when I try it from command line.The only prob I am facing from shell script is assigning values to temporary variables.
This is how my script looks
#!/bin/bash
export PARM5="$5"
export PARM6="$6"
export PARM7="$7"
echo "INTPARM5=\"$PARM5\""
echo "INTPARM6=\"$PARM6\""
echo "INTPARM7=\"$PARM7\""
echo $FND_TOP/bin/CONCSUB $1 ONT 'Order Management Super User, Vision Operations (USA)' $3 WAIT=Y CONCURRENT ONT $PROGRAM "$INTPARM5" "$INTPARM6" "$INTPARM7"When I try to run the above shell based concurrent program it doesn't pass the parameters as expected and it errors out saying "Wrong number of arguments to call the procedure"
I tried my luck from some of the previous posts ({thread:id=2360776} ),but to vain
If anyone has any ideas,please suggest!!
Thanks in advance!!

Rep-3002 while calling report from form in character mode on web environment
When I call a report by using run_product from a form , i get rep-3002. my report is in character mode. if i change it to bitmap that works fine. but my requirement is of character mode on web environment.
please help.Hello,
If you are running in WinNT/2000 environment, the NT/2000 user which runs the Report Server service must have a printer defined. In the control panel, look at the properties for the Report Server to see what user it runs as. Log in as that user and make sure a default printer is defined.

ImranThis is Note:260451.1, you can try it:
Newly created Key in cgicmd.dat file returns the following error when called with rwservlet:
REP-50003: Bad command line
Changes
New key created in cgicmd.dat file.
Cause
Used tabs to add space after ":" and before first parameter.
Fix
1. Edit the cgicmd.dat file.
2. Remove the tab after ":" and before first parameter.
3. Use spaces to separate ":" from first parameter.
Note: Remember that multiple keys in this file MUST be separated by an EXTRA empty line.
This is documented in cgicmd.dat sample as rule 1. -

Progress bar while calling reports from Forms
I have got a form (FORMS 6i) which calls a report (Reports 6i). This call results in the invocation
of a reports engine which might take time (may be more than a minute) in bringing up the desired report. Is there any way i can show a progress bar to the user (like in any Windows application) that the report is getting generated? Because the user is currently confused on whether the report is really generated or not while waiting for the report.

Problem while passing parameter from report to report.
Hi
I'm using forms and reports 10g, hava a problem while passing the parameter from reports to report.
i'm using srw.set_hyperlink to call report from report.
i have created a key value in the cgicmd.dat file called
faccre802005-2006: report=faccre80 destype=cache desformat=pdf userid=<userid/passwd@cs> server=<servername>
Now in the format trigger i'm using this key value
function BTN_DEBITFormatTrigger return boolean is
temp varchar2(5000);
IP_ADDRESS VARCHAR2(50);
SERVER_NAME VARCHAR2(10);
L_ACCT_CODE VARCHAR2(14);
begin
SELECT MAST_INT_DESC,MAST_USER_PGM_ID INTO IP_ADDRESS,SERVER_NAME FROM MAST_INT_INFO WHERE MAST_INT_ID='VISHWA';
temp := IP_ADDRESS||'?faccre80'||:P_FIN_YEAR||'+server='||server_name;
temp :=temp ||'+'||'P_PREVIOUS_CODE='''||:ACCT_CODE||''''||'+'||'P_COMPANY_CODE='''||:P_COMPANY_CODE||'''';
temp :=temp ||'+'|| 'P_FROM_DATE='''||TO_CHAR(:P_FROM_DATE,'DD-MON-RRRR')||''''||'+'|| 'P_TO_DATE='''||TO_CHAR(:P_TO_DATE,'DD-MON-RRRR')||''''||'+'||'P_TRUST_CODE='''|| :P_TRUST_CODE||'''';

SRW.Set_Hyperlink(temp);
END;
return (TRUE);
end;
Report is coming but not the expected result because parmaeters are not coming from first report to second report.

Problem displaying a report from within Oracle 10g forms.
After a lot of work, we are able to access and actually display a report directly from Internet explorer and view the report from the report server as well.
The successful url was:
http://york.vrc.virginia.gov:7778/reports/rwservlet
?report=/u01/app/oracle/produ ct/vrcmidtier/reports/vrc/pmw41051.rdf
&userid=vrcpr/vrcpr@vrctest&destype=cache&desformat=HTML
The form displays correctly back to the screen
When executing from within the form, however, the report runs but does not display back to the screen.
Forms Steps so far:
created a report object called pmw41050
static parameters are:
file name: /u01/app/oracle/product/vrcmidtier/reports/vrc/pmw41051.rdfination format
execution mode: batch
communication mode: synchronous
destination name; null
destination format: HTML
reportserver:: vrc_york_midtier
Built a when button pressed trigger as follows:
declare
l_report_file varchar2(200);
l_report_id REPORT_OBJECT;
l_report_status varchar2(200);
begin
-- capture the report
l_report_file := 'pmw41051';
l_report_id := find_report_object(l_report_file);
-- set the parameters for this output
set_report_object_property(l_report_id, REPORT_EXECUTION_MODE, BATCH);
set_report_object_property(l_report_id, REPORT_COMM_MODE, SYNCHRONOUS);
set_report_object_property(l_report_id, REPORT_DESTYPE, CACHE);
set_report_object_property(l_report_id, REPORT_DESFORMAT, 'PDF');
set_report_object_property(l_report_id, REPORT_SERVER, 'rep_york_vrcmidtier');
set_report_object_property(l_report_id, REPORT_OTHER, 'PARAMFORM=NO');
set_report_object_property(l_report_id, REPORT_DESNAME, 'DESNAME');
-- and run the report
l_report_status := run_report_object(l_report_id);
-- monitor progress
while l_report_status in ('RUNNING', 'OPENING_REPORT', 'ENQUEUED') loop
l_report_status := report_object_status(l_report_status);
end loop;
message('back from the report'); -- test message for return
end;
The report executes without error (as indicated by the message on the last line) but does NOT display back to the screen
checking the rwservlet/showjobs verifies the report completed and the reportcan be displayed from there.
So, bottom line: how to make a 10g form call report and display it on the screen?Thanks MIke for your feedback...
Will this surfice?

Calling reports from oracle forms 9i
Hi
I succeded to call reports from oracle forms but for I have a problem for only one report so I can't call it. this a part of the code I'm using :
declare
pl_id2 ParamList;
pl_name2 VARCHAR2(30) := 'liste2';
v_rep VARCHAR2(100);
rep_status VARCHAR2(20);
begin
pl_id2 := get_parameter_list(pl_name2);
if (Id_Null(pl_id2) )THEN
pl_id2 := Create_Parameter_List(pl_name2);
IF NOT Id_Null(pl_id2) THEN
add_parameter(pl_id2,'mois',TEXT_PARAMETER,:mois);
END IF;
end if;
IF NOT Id_Null(pl_id2) THEN
if(:mois is not null) then
v_rep := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT('My_report',pl_id2);
message(v_rep);
rep_status := REPORT_OBJECT_STATUS(v_rep);
WHILE rep_status in ('RUNNING','OPENING_REPORT','ENQUEUED') LOOP
rep_status := report_object_status(v_rep);
END LOOP;
IF rep_status = 'FINISHED' THEN
WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT('/reports/rwservlet/getjobid'||substr(v_rep,instr(v_rep,'_',-1)+1)||'?'||'server=repserver','_blank');
ELSE
message('Error when running report');
END IF;
end;
the problem I've remarqued is that the function message(v_rep) is always returning the value :'repserver_0'.
so when I execute the previous code I'm getting the 2 messages : 'repserver_0' and 'Error when running report'.
Rq: the report my_report is running very well in report builder.
does someone see where is the problem so can help me??
thanx.Hi,
This usually happens when the report fails on the report server. To obtain details on why a particular report has failed, use the showjobs page :
http://server.domain:PORT/reports/rwservlet/showjobs?server=repserver
and check the detailed error occured.
This is logged as Bug:3017948. It is marked to be fixed in version 9.0.4 (Reports 10g) and also has one-off patches for version 9.0.2.3 on Windows platforms. If you need further assistance about patches, please raise a Service Request (SR) with Support via Metalink (http://metalink.oracle.com).

Here in this case even though i specify the report id in the parameter,debugger message says that 'You did not specify the name'.
The same code is working in some other server and giving the pdf output.
Thanks in advance for any clarification.Hello Chirag,
If you want to invoke and run a report from your PL/SQL code in the database, you can do so by installing and using the SRW package supplied with Reports. This package allows you to run parametrized report jobs on a specified Reports Server from your PL/SQL program and track the job status. Please take a look at the documentation for this package in the Publishing Reports manual on OTN at: http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/html/A92102_01/toc.htm.
On the other hand, if you just need to invoke the Reports Builder program from your PL/SQL routine, you would need to use the default builtin for calling external applications from PL/SQL.
Thanks,
The Oracle Reports Team.
