Liste de polices

Bonjour,

  • Dscl mcximport of policies from a plist

I have been trying to import policies from a plist file using the 'DSCL -mcximport' command without any success for quite a while now.
I can export a group of workgroup pref settings to a plist file using 'dscl . -mcxexport /ComputerGroup/mcxDock > /path/to/file' but can not turn around and import those same exported settings back into the same group.
The command I'm trying is... 'dscl . -mcximport /ComputerGroups/mcxDock /mcxDock.plist'. Every time I run this I get the error "Error: -14987" or if I run the command 'dscl /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 mcximport /ComputerGroups/mcxDock_Staff /mcxDock_Staff.plist' I get the error "dscl[1947:903] DirServices [dsAddAttribute] error: 4294953176
    DS permission error (-14120)"
I am totally confused as every example I've looked at seems so simple and logical to do.
I want to be able to build a list of workgroup policies on a test Mac server then export them and use them as a faster way to build a base list of policies when I install a new server.
    Any advice would be great.

I am using the broadcom utility and intel utility but it still didn't work reliably. The machine policies weren't running half the time because the card didn't initialize yet. There is a reg edit that we are testing now that tells windows to not process policies until the card comes up. As a side note, the Broadcom is a little cumbersome to setup. I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to make and executable like the intel client will do. Thanks

Hi, the topology of th network ist the next:
    ISP (DATACENTER) ->  SRV1 (phisical) +  SRV2 &SRV3 (virtual)
Every one of them have 2 NIC  ( for server  2 and 3  - virtual  too)
    NIC1 - operates on private level -  192.168.1.1 dns, gate,dc (srv1)
NIC2 - real ip address, gate - gateway of ISP  dns - 192.168.1.1
When set up NIC1 - everything is ok .
NIC2 - action is : set ip and mask - enable without gate  - then it is in unidentified status  and  go in public state.
disable nic2, set up gateway  - and dns - 192.168.1.1  and again enable - everything is ok
But after restart  - nic2 - goes again in Domainauthenticated mode. :(
    Additional:
On srv2 - i put RRAs role and smthing stange is that after enable rras service - all ports are shutted and machine pretendet to be invisible.

  • Network Identifying . . . . (stuck forever)

I have a two node Windows 2012 R2 cluster hosting Hyper-V guests. All server assets are virtualized including DNS, AD and DHCP and running as guest VMs. AD is hosted on Windows 2012 that has been recently upgraded to Windows 2012 R2. All computers
    are fully patched and updated.
Its a single subnet private class C network with a dual NIC TMG host providing connectivity to internet. This TMG host is default gateway for all internal assets.
Recently (after upgrading AD host from Windows 2012 to Windows 2012/R2, but not sure if it related) servers are getting stuck on networking and network getting stuck on Identifying . . . and network access (RDP) is denied. Behavior
make sense that access is denied while server is evaluating the network. What makes it frustrating it cannot identify the network and stays in "Identifying" mode. One workaround I found is to use Hyper-V console logon to the machine,
disable and re-enable the NIC - and this is a manual intervention not a solution.
I tried bunch of different things but none sticking (temporarily feels like it problem is fixed but then it comes back in hours or days). I have not experience this issue on desktops connecting to the same network over wired or WiFi connection.
    Things that I tried include:
    Rebooting (yep!)
Removing the vNIC and adding back in again
disabling VMQ (Virtual Machine Queue) and twiddling NIC settings (physical network is attached to a 1 GB Dell Layer 3 Switch)
Removing virtual switch, re-creating and attaching the NICs to new virtual switch
Removing all VLANs - no VLANs physical or virtual
Changing the GPO (GPO -> Windows Settings -> Security Settings -> Network List Manager Policies )
Cleaning up (uninstalling) dead (old) NICs hidden in host device manager on VMs
    Stopping windows firewall on servers.
Tried different suggestions that I found on internet (but they are mostly related to time prior to Windows 2012)
    Re-validated Windows 2012 R2 based cluster configuration
This behavior is more prevalent on Windows 2012/R2 machines than on Windows 2008 hosts.
There is something obvious that I am missing or its a new feature/bug? Temporarily I changed the definition of Identifying network from "public" to "private" but that's not how I want to keep it (security!!).
Any suggestions? How do I make NIC identify the network and get out of this
    Identifying . . . state?

    Update:
I build a new clean windows 2012 R2 from RTM and applied all updates and patches. All along machine was able to see the network without any problem.
Next I domain joined the machine and boom!! it broke network to Identifying  . . .
So obviously there is something on AD/GPO that is effecting the machine behavior. Not so much of a AD/GPO expert but I tried and exhausted what I can think of.
Next to eliminate further, I created a new OU, moved the machine into newly created OU and in GPO Editor Blocked Inheritance. Gave it sometime. few GPUPDATE /FORCE and reboots. Now I am getting clean network and not
    Identifying anymore.
I will be moving few other 2012/R2 VMs into newly created GPO-blocked OU and hoping to see the Identifying to go away for the moved machines. I will report update later in the forum.
Until then would be great if some can point me to how to fix/correct the Network Location setting in GPO.
    ----------------------- Oct 19, 2014 Update----------------
Having the machines out in newly created OU worked as long as GPO inheritance is blocked. This seems to be effecting Windows 2012 (R2) machines.
So the question is how to "educate" Network Location Identifying process that it is connected to right network? It gets pretty painful when a machine like DC or TMG is restarted and its waiting on
Identifying requiring a manual intervention (not through RDP but using Hyper-V console to recycle the Network Adapter (disable/enable) to find itself.
This troubleshooting took away my weekend, I have a solution but solution is not making me feel good or feeling I learned something new. :-(

Please note this issue is not with one single VM. This is the behavior on all Windows 2012/R2 VMs. Or at least I am focused in Windows 2012 R2 computers.
I think I am up to something, means to a solution that I will post back later (once I have more confidence into it)
In GPO, there is nothing in [Computer configuration-->administrative templates-->network-->DNS client]. Anything that I had I removed it and all settings are default (i.e. Not Configured).
Below at the end is the output of IPCONFIG /ALL. This is from a VM that is getting IP from DHCP. There are five other machines with static IP addresses from the same subnet. Also note that DHCP is running off the same VM that is hosting DNS (and AD) which
to my understanding means it is finding the network services fines.

  • Network Location not showing domain name in Server 2012 R2 after demoting 2003 PDC

The single active NIC in my new Server 2012 R2 no longer shows the Network Location of "DOMAIN.LOCAL" like it did before I demoted the only Server 2003 domain controller. The NIC now shows "NETWORK" as the Network Location.
The registry still shows a Profile with the correct PROFILENAME in
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\Profiles
but that name does not show up in the Network List Manager Policies inside Local Security Policy.
The 2012 R2 Srv has all of the FSMO roles, Client PC's can connect to the domain but will not get new map drives from a script, they must be created manually. My Quickbooks Enterprise clients cannot see the QB Server Manager on this server and I think it
is related to this issue because of firewall restrictions.
The Windows Firewall pointed me in this direction because the "Private Networks" is connected to my NIC named "Network" but the Firewall "Domain Networks" is reported as "Not connected."
    Any Help is appreciated,

    Hi,
    Based on my research,
Network Location Awareness (NLA) service expects to be able to enumerate the
domain’s forest name to choose the right network profile for the connection. The service does this by calling
DsGetDcName on the forest root name and issuing an LDAP query on UDP port 389 to a root Domain Controller.
If something hinders the DNS name resolution or the connection attempt to the DC, NLA is not able to set the appropriate network profile on the connection.
Therefore, I suggest you check the DNS settings on DCs and other domain-joined machines, which should point to the existing DC as preferred DNS server, and secondary DC as alternate DNS server, IP address of demoted DC should be
removed. In addition, please do not use loopback IP address.
Here are some articles below I suggest you refer to:

  • 2 network cards in Windows 8.1 but can't set the correct one to Private

Hi, I already asked this question in the community forum  but was re-directed here as you guys know more about multiple network cards in Windows 8.
I'm using Windows 8.1 with 2 network cards. One for my internal LAN (will call this my secure LAN which has a static IP) and one for connection to the internet (Internet LAN which is DHCP). Both networks are totally physically seperate. This is for a combination
of speed and security purposes (lot of internet traffic on the internet LAN and I want that card locked down to prevent file sharing on it)
By default, both of the cards have their network properties set to public. To date I have not found any way to set the secure LAN card to private and the Internet card to public. If I enable file sharing in the private bit of "advanced settings" and
go to the Metro settings (whatever the fancy name is) under PC Settings/Network/Connections, there is only a generic "network" icon shown (rather than 2 netowrk icons, one for each card). When clicked, this correlates to the network card connected
to the internet. I can make this card public or private by changing the "Find devices and Content" switch on or off but this does not impact the card connected to the secure LAN. I tried disabling the Internet card and re running the setup (which
this time configured the secure LAN card) which I think did allow me to change it to private but as soon as the internet LAN card was re-enabled it reverted to that one being private and my secure LAN to public.
so - The config I am left with is the wrong way round (ie the internet card set to private and my private LAN card set to public!)
Similarly, I tried using regedit. In HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\Profiles\ <Profile ID> I can change the REG_DWORD to 1 or 0 but this only impacts the private / public settings of the card connected to the
    internet.
I am guessing that Windows is kind of combining these 2 cards into 1 network profile and there is some priority thing going on that it gives priority to the card connected to the internet in terms of config?
Anyone got any ideas on how to force one card to private and the other to public?
    Thanks Guys.
    Al.

This is caused by the default security policy which blocks file sharing with unidentified networks by making them public. (How it determines unidentified networks is another interesting question). To allow file sharing, you have to change the local
security policy to allow unidentified networks to be private.

  • Convert Excel into Password Protected PDF Files

    Hello Aandi/Lenoard,
I believe you are the Adobe Forums administrators so I thought you guys are the right people to approach.
OTHERS ARE ALSO INVITED TO COMMENT ON THIS TOPIC.
I have C# desktop app which generates Excel files and our goal is to convert these excel files one at a time into password protected PDF files. We use a 3rd party software currently, but I am challenging myself into saying that I can use Adobe Acrobat 9.0 SDK to achieve what is required .
I have downloaded Acrobat 9.0 SDK and also have Adobe Professional 8.0(trail) in my development machine. Can you firstly tell me if this is possible and secondly what would be required on the client machines to run it?
    THanks,
    Andy

"Encrypt with Password" is the policy name, not the policy id.
Did you try enumerating the policy object to see how to set it up? I ran this from the console to get the policy details:
    var policy = security.chooseSecurityPolicy();
    for ( var i in policy )
    console.println(i + ": " + eval("policy." + i));
That will pop up your list of policies. Choose "Encrypt with Password" and hit Apply, which returned the following:
    policyId: SP_STD_default
    name: Encrypt with Password
description: This policy will allow you to set an open or modify password on a document.
    handler: Adobe.Standard
    target: document
Of course, all you really need are the policyId, handler and target. Make sure you read and thoroughly understand the security requirements documented in the API reference for this method as well.

  • WARNING: Failed to get Network Cost info from NLM, assuming network is NOT metered, error = 0x80240037

I have couple of VMs Server 2012 R2 RTM on Hyper-v Host running the same OS.
All machines including host and VM that is not in domain have an error in Windowsupdate.log:
AU WARNING: Failed to get Network Cost info from NLM, assuming network is NOT metered, error = 0x80240037
FW and UAC are off on all. There are posts on web discussing the same error but most of them connect this to WSUS or Config Manager. And it is clear because we are touching Windowsupdate.log when troubleshooting WSUS. And because WSUS on 2012 is BUGGY this
    error confuses too.
Finally, as mentioned earlier I deployed NEW server 2012 not from SYSPREP and did not place it to the domain. Updated the machine from MS update. Everything is OK beside the same error about COST :).
So now it is clear it has nothing to do with WSUS or Configuration manager. It indicates to some Network issue. But there is no clear answer. Some suggest just to ignore the error if everything is OK. But I would like to have a clean log. And it is just
interesting what could cause the problem. Is it Hyper-V stuff or Server 2012 itself. Anyway I guess I am doing right by posting a question on HV forum since here are people that should know 2012 .
    Thanks.

    Hi pob579,
    Sorry for the late .
I want to know if your network connection indicates " unidentified network ".
If that is the case , you can try the step below :
        open the "local group policy"
expand  local computer policy -->computer configuration -->windows settings -->security settings
    --> network list manager policies
in the right pane you will see Unidentified Networks , double click it , then you can configure the
Location Type when the network connection is unidentified
If there is domain , you need to change the same entry in "Domain Policy"
after that please restart your computer

  • Network Store Interface Service - Memory Leak on Boot

I wanted to compile and explain my solution to an issue in Windows 8.1 where NSI causes major RAM/Disk utilization in creating four files in C:\Windows\System32\networklist\icons

    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/bebbd935-f6f8-47fb-b756-714c27f0da7d/win-81-rtm-slow-startup-thanks-to-network-list-service?forum=w81previtpro

Prior to noticing sluggish behavior during startup, I decided I wanted to give my Network a personalized name "Grimm Network." I achieved that by following this process: http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/19670-network-name-change-windows-8-a.html
The error of my ways started when I poked around further...I changed Network Icon -> Icon to "Icon" from "Not Configured"
That is what trigger this startup behavior.
I went back and changed the setting to "Not Configured"
The registry entries referenced in the related posts I shared above were removed. Sure enough the files were no longer being deleted/created at boot.
This explanation is much more palatable than deleted registry entries with no further explanation was is advised in the other threads.
Prior to finding the other two threads, I did have to do some trial and error with root causing the services. With Task manager, I narrowed it down to 7 services. Then with Safe Mode w/ Networking, I narrowed it now to NSI and NETPROFM. After disabling NSI
during a normal boot, I noticed the issue was not happening. I then realized that there was a large amount of disk utilization, that allowed me to use Resource Monitor to see what files were being affected. Then searching for NSI related issue with Windows
8.1 led me to the above When reading through the related posts, it finally hit me when I saw that the registry entries were related to my custom named network...I remembered that I had changed some settings, specifically with the icon in SECPOL.MSC, and that
it must be related. This is how I deduced a non-registry entry changing solution to this problem.
In summary, go to SECPOL.MSC -> Network List Manager Policies ...
Look for your networks, open them up, and ensure that Network Icon -> Icon has "Not Configured" selected.
I hope this helps other people.

  • Configure The client for ADC

I like to Configure Acrobat 8 for the Document Center.
In my Acrobat 8 pro swedish version I cannot find the the drop-down-text
"Choose Advanced > Security > Use Adobe Online Services. " taken into account the "language diffrences".
So I download a trial Acrobat 9 pro english version.
And again I cannot do the "Choose Advanced > Security > Use Adobe Online Services. " exercise, this time no langauage consideration.
So Do I need Acrobat pro version 8 english.
Or even betyter do you have a metaframe client I can use for the small test. I get tired of thinking about remove the clent and download another.
    regards Anders

I post the solution my self.
I have asked the excellent provider Web Case Support [mailto:[email protected]] to write the anwer here. But as they don't have yet:
This solution works fine in ver 8 and 9 that are the only one I have tested.
    1. Launch Acrobat and go to Advanced> Security Settings.
    2. Click Adobe LiveCycle Rights Management Servers.
    3. Click the New option, up top.
    4. Enter this information as it appears: Name: Create Adobe PDF Online Server Name: pdf-policy.adobe.com Port: 443
    5. Click Connect to this server and Log in with your Document Center ID and password.
To apply polices to PDF files follow the direction below:
    1. Open the PDF in Acrobat 8.
    2. Choose Advanced > Security > Manage Security Policies.
    3. In the dialog box list of policies, select the policy that you want to apply.
    4. Click Apply To Document.
    5. In the Save As dialog box, click Save. The default filename includes the word Envelope, so the saved PDF doesnot overwrite the original.

  • Server 2012 R2 - Change network location from public to private

I am having an issue with changing Network location to private from Public on Server 2012 R2 X64 .
Please note all the reference for previous servers for fixing this issue  does not work on 2012 R2.
I am using Static-IP and "Workgroup" as domain setting.
In 2012 server by Right  clicking on Network and Turn sharing on or OFF worked but in 2012- R2 Right click is not working not providing turn sharing ON or OFF option.

Check if you can change from here :
Run -- Gpedit.msc-- Open Computer configration -->Windows Settings -->Security Settings -->select Network list manager policies

  • Problem related to the start of the application servers

    Hello,
I have a WebLogic 12c domain composed of an administration server, an soa/bpm managed server and an OSB managed server. They aren't clustered. In order to start the servers I'm using Node Manager. So, I thought to start the admin server and, after that, to start the two managed servers via the admin console. But the administration server doesn't start properly as it raises the following exception:

So, it seems that the admin server is trying to connect to the soabpm and the osb managed servers. Then, I'm starting first the managed servers which, in my opinion, it doesn't make much sense as, even if the managed servers may start without the admin server running, this is only exceptional. Starting the managed servers first, they will try to connect to the admin server, which is normal, as they need to get the configuration. And since there is no admin server running, they will wait until the timeout expires, meaning that the managed server take several minutes (even 10 minutes) to start.
So, my question is: how is one supposed to start the servers in this case ?
    Many thanks in advance.
    Nicolas

Have a look at the following Note :
Warning "Unable to connect to the policy access service" During Admin Server Startup. (Doc ID 1948727.1)
    CAUSE
The Admin Server is trying to reach wsm-pm during startup. As wsm-pm is targeted only to Managed Servers which have not been started yet, this must fail.
The connection to wsm-pm will be retried, and will be established once wsm-pm is available in the domain.
    SOLUTION
Start up at least one Managed Server to which wsm-pm is targeted. This Managed Server can be started up after the Admin Server is RUNNING.
Once at least one Managed Server to which wsm-pm is targeted is up, verify that OWSM related functionality is available.
1.) After starting up at least one such managed server, verify that no additional such OWSM related warnings
are logged into the Admin Server log.
2.) If you have Fusion Middleware Control in your domain, try the following after starting up at least one such managed server:
    https://docs.oracle.com/middleware/1213/owsm/security/manage-owsm-policies.htm#OWSMS5557https://docs.oracle.com/middleware/1213/owsm/security/manage-owsm-policies.htm#OWSMS5557
    3) In the Target Navigation pane, expand WebLogic Domain and select the domain for which you want to see the policies.
4.) From the WebLogic Domain menu, select Web Services, then WSM Policies.
5.) Do you get a list of policies there?
If yes, then the setup should be working.
If after starting up at least one Managed Server to which wsm-pm is targeted you still get "Unable to connect to the policy access service" and "No available router to destination" in the Admin Server logs, see DOCUMENT: 1569900.1
