Listing log file in dd_mm_yy.txt format

Hi everyone,
I want to list log files whose names are changing daily in command line. Like that;
C:\log\dd_mm_yy.txt
"dd_mm_yy.txt" is changing daily. What kind of a definition I must use in Windows command prompt to list the log file ? Could you please help me about how can I solve that problem?
Best Regards
Murat

In linux command line similarly I can use below command, but in Windows I couldnt do
ls -d /usr/local/logs/*error*.$(date +%Y-%m-%d)
set /?
look at string manipulation
also:
echo %date%
We will eventually break you Unix guys of your old bad habits.  In Windows we actually have all of those things.  In Unix you only have some of them.
Don't feel bad.  PowerShell is almost ready to run on all versions of Linux.

  • BMC Patrol monitoring listener.log in xml not txt format

    Hi !
    Oracle 11g, PatrolAgent V3.9.00.02i, KM 8.11.00
    My company uses BMC Patrol to monitor listener.log. Patrol knows listener.log's path from command:
    lsnrctl status <listener_name>
    and gets path to listener.log in xml fromat: log.xml from 'Listener Log File' field.
    The problem is that when Patrol discovers an error puts last 100 lines from that log into email and sends it to me. Obviously it is in xml format while I prefer txt format.
    Questions:
    1. how can I force listener to show path to listener.log in txt format in 'Listener Log File' field ?
    2. how can I tell Patrol to use different path to listener.log instead of one form 'Listener Log File' field ?
    Thanks in advance.

    I asked on BMC forum also but no helpful either. Does anyone know is it possible to configure listener to show path to listener.log insted of log.xml in status command ?

  • Spool file required in txt format

    Hi
    am logging into sql using script.
    sqlplus ima/ima@test <<!
    spool /opt/tt/spoolfile.txt
    @sql.sql
    spool off.
    now i am getting a spool file named spoolfile.txt.lst
    i want it to be only spoolfile.txt
    I am working on solaris
    uname -a
    SunOS massena 5.9 Generic_117171-12 sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V240
    oracle 9.2
    Please Help

    If you are doing on Solaris then why don't you do this way :
    Create a shell script say spool.sh
    SPOOLFILE_NAME=/opt/tt/spoolfile.txt
    sqlplus ima/ima@test @sql.sql > $SPOOLFILE_NAME
    Here in the sql.sql file you can have spool off and exit command at the end. So you will have .txt file as you want.

  • Can I generate .txt / .log file from Oracle Diagnostic Logging?

    Hi all,
    on my application I need to limit the size of application log, I've read this [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25221_04/web.1013/b14432/logadmin.htm#CHDJHHHB|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25221_04/web.1013/b14432/logadmin.htm#CHDJHHHB] that using ODL, but generated file is .xml, but I need .log / .txt file. How can I do this??
    thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Kahlil

    ODL generates log files in XML format only. Using ODL you can not have plain text format log files. You have to decide what is more desired - log rotation (that ODL provides) or text format (which is the default, non-ODL, format). If text format is more desired than don't enable ODL and write your own shell script to rotate application log (but that can only be done while OC4J is down).
    At the same time if you are concern about readability of log file (i.e. text format is easier to read vs. xml format) than you might consider using one the log viewer tool (log viewer in EM or printlogs command line) provided by Oracle. Both of these tools help you view the logs in much more readable format than just looking at xml format log file.
    (printlogs utility is under $OH/diagnostic/bin directory. Run "printlogs -help" to read about it).
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • How can I get a list of files in my collections?

    Hi
    I have been given a disc of 800 photos from a photographer, some colour and some black and white. I used lightroom's 'collections' facility to separate the photos into various groups ie: some pictures that had to be printed different sizes, some black and white etc etc.
    I now need to somehow 'export' a list of the files in the various collections for her to print.
    Does lightroom have a facilty where it can just export a list of files in text/doc format?
    Thank you for your help.

  • How do you export LabVIEW SignalExpress Log files into MatLab?

    I am using SignalExpress to capture vibration and acoustic data.  I need to show the results to a customer that doens't have access to LabVIEW.  They have Matlab, so I need to find a way to export the SignalExpress log file into a usable format that I can import into Matlab.

    SignalExpress log files are in TDMS format.  You also have the option to convert your log to text when you finish it.  So you have two options:
    Send the original TDMS log and have your colleague use the MATLAB plugin which allows reading of TDMS files.
    Convert the log to text and send the text files.
    The first option is probably your best bet, since it will result in smaller files.  Let us know if you run into issues.

  • ODI Log file encoding

    Greetings Everyone!
    I faced the following problem.
    I load data through ODI in Hyperion. For convenient display I made my log file in excel *.csv format. Due to encoding the error description text in my log file is displayed uncorrectly.
    Is it possible to configure the encoding for the log files? Maybe i need to put "ENCODING=UTF8" string somewhere?
    Thank you!
    Regards,
    Ilshat

    The other method would be just to run a pure maxl data load, so a maxl script and a dataload, this will allow an error file to be generated by essbase.
    This can be developed outside of ODI and then once you are happy called from within ODI.
    It is worth trying that method to see if essbase will generate the error logs you are looking for.
    Cheers

    There is a dedicated Bridge Scripting Forum that might have something suitable for you, it is not possible with Bridge 'Out of the box'

  • The format of Audit log file

    We have a perl script to extract data from Audit log files(Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.1.0) which have format as bellow.
    Audit file /u03/oracle/admin/NIKKOU/adump/ora_5037.aud
    Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.1.0 - Production
    ORACLE_HOME = /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0

    ACTION : 'CONNECT'
    DATABASE USER: 'sys'
    PRIVILEGE : SYSDBA
    CLIENT USER: oracle
    CLIENT TERMINAL:
    STATUS: 0
    After we update the db from Release 10.2.0.1.0 to Release 10.2.0.4.0, the format of Audit log file had been changed to something likes below.
    Audit file /u03/oracle/admin/NIKKOU/adump/ora_1897.aud
    Oracle Database 10g Release 10.2.0.4.0 - Production
    ORACLE_HOME = /u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0

    PRIVILEGE :[6] 'SYSDBA'
    CLIENT USER:[0] ''
    CLIENT TERMINAL:[7] 'unknown'
    STATUS:[1] '0'
    Because we have to rewrite the perl script, could anyone tell us where we can find the manual to describe the format of the Audit log file.

    Oracle publishes views of the audit trail data. You can find a list of the views for the 11.1 database here:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B28359_01/network.111/b28531/auditing.htm#BCGIICFE
    The audit trail does not really change between patchsets as that would constitute underlying structure changes and right now, the developers are not allowed to change the underlying structure of tables in patchsets. But, we can change what may be displayed in a column from patchset to patchset. For example, we are getting ready to update the comment$text field to display more information like dblinks and program names.
    I personally don't like overloading the comment$text field like that, but sometimes when you need the information, that is the only choice except to wait for the next major release :)
    As for the output of the audit log files, those can change between patchsets because of bugs that were found and some changes to support Audit Vault. My apologies out there for anyone that is reading the audit files written to the OS directly, I would recommend using the views.
    Hope that helps. Tammy

  • Lenovo G50-70 - Log file: C:\windows\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt"

    I bought my laptop less than a month a go and I get this error message
    Log file: C:\windows\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt"
    I run chkdsk - c drive is fine but D drive, I get  a lot of - File Record segment ____ is unreadable.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    hi Antex,
    Welcome to the Forums.
    An unreadable File Record Segments means that a data on the HDD's cluster or sector is damaged and became unreadable. This is an indication of an imminent hard drive failure.
    If you're still able to boot into Windows, I recommend you backup important files ASAP and contact lenovo on how to go about getting the HDD replaced.
    In case that Windows doesn't boot-up anymore, you can:
    1. Follow this guide on how to backup your files
    or
    2. See page 36 of the HMM on how to remove the drive and use an HDD enclosure (like this item) to convert into an external HDD to read the data on another PC.

  • Renaming files using a list of names in a txt or csv file

    Hello everyone,
    I'm trying to use AppleScript (although I'm a total noob to it) to rename the files in a folder (if possible using something like this - set folder to choose folder) to coincide to a list of names (in a txt or csv - can be any extension needed).
    To paint the picture clearer I'll have something like this
    Files_as_they_are
    Files_renamed
    01.mkv
    Valar Dohaeris.mkv
    02.mkv
    Mhysa.mkv
    Here is what I've tryed so far : (some point through the night I've tryed to repeat part of the process thus the "fcount" but the result was even worse)
    set theFolder to choose folder
    set ep to {"Valar Dohaeris", "Dark Wings, Dark Words"}
    set fcount to 1
    tell application "Finder"
      set name of file fcount of theFolder to item fcount of ep
    end tell
    set fcount to fcount + 1
    Tnx in advance...

    This will work with a comma separated text file,
    i.e.:
         Files as the are, Files Renamed
         01.mkv, Valar Dohaeris.mkv
         02.mkv, Mhysa.mkv
    Note that if the file to be renamed exists, it will be overwritten (A test can be added to skip if exists if needed)
    set theFoler to POSIX path of (choose folder with prompt "Choose folder with Files" default location path to desktop)
    set theFile to POSIX path of (choose file with prompt "Choose TXT file" default location path to desktop)
    do shell script "
    cd " & quoted form of theFoler & "
    while read line
    do
         OldImageName=${line%,*}
         NewImageName=${line#*,}
         if [ -e \"$OldImageName\" ] ; then
              mv \"$OldImageName\" \"$NewImageName\"
         else
              echo \"$OldImageName\" >> ~/Desktop/Errors.txt
         fi
    done < " & quoted form of theFile & "

  • Formatting the server's log file

    Hello,
    I'm using WebLogic 10.3, and am looking for a way to format the log records in my server's log file. Currently the records have the default format, e.g:
    +####<Sept 22, 2004 10:46:51 AM EST> <Notice> <WebLogicServer> <MyComputer> <examplesServer> <main> <<WLS Kernel>> <> <null> <1080575211904> <BEA-000360> <Server started in RUNNING mode>+
    There's a lot of information there that I don't need, or don't always need, and I would like to be able to define what I see there. I've been looking in the documentation (here), but haven't found anything useful.
    Is there a way to do that?
    Thanks in advance,

    It is possible to do so using java.util.logging APIs.
    // You can get a reference to the Server Logger like this:
    java.util.logging.Logger logger = weblogic.logging.LoggingHelper.getServerLogger();
    // Once you get hold of the file handler, you can set your own custom formatter.
    Handler[] handlers = logger.getHandlers();
    for(Handler handler : handlers) {
    if (handler.getClass().getName().equals("weblogic.logging.FileStreamHandler")) {
    handler.setFormatter(new MyCustomFormatter());
    }
