Listing Record fields

I have a function which returns a record. The record has three fields, A, B, C.
I want to list those columns after executing the function.
select rec_func from dual; -> get record with A,B,C
select A, B, C from ????
Thanks in advance for help
Aliq

I need to do this in SQLnot sure if you can do a simple dynamic SQL without employing some PL/SQL. what i can think of is you can try to create another function and simply call the other function that returns your listing of your fields and use the execute immiedate inside your newly created function.

  • PL/SQL: List Record-fields

    Hi all!
    I am just wondering if it is possible to list all fields in a record.
    I.E. I want to print all columns of a table row without explicitly writing every single column name.
    Here is a code example:
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE timotest IS
    CURSOR timo_cur IS SELECT * FROM MYPERSONTABLE;
    BEGIN
    htp.htmlOpen;
    htp.headOpen;
    htp.headClose;
    htp.bodyOpen;
    htp.p('<h1>All Datasets from MYPERSONTABLE</h1>');
    FOR timo_rec IN timo_cur
    LOOP
    -- NOW HERE WE GO!
    -- this is what I DON'T want to do
    htp.print(timo_rec.firstname || '; ' || timo_rec.lastname);
    -- what I want is something like that:
    -- WHILE timo_rec HAS MORE FIELDS
    -- LOOP
    -- htp.print(timo_rec.next);
    -- END LOOP;
    END LOOP;
    htp.bodyClose;
    htp.htmlClose;
    END;
    Is this possible? Or is it impossible to discover the inner structure of a record?
    tia,
    Timo

    At the time of writing it is impossible to interrogate a PL/SQL record and recover the inner structure programmatically. The best I can suggest is that you populate a VARRAY with the record names and then loop round that
    Note that this approach would not allow allow you to do this :
    htp.print(timo_rec.firstname || '; ' || timo_rec.lastname);
    you only ever be able to do the iterative equivalent of this:
    htp.print(timo_rec.firstname );
    htp.print(timo_rec.lastname);

  • Bacth job sending email : spool list recipient field

    Hi,
    When creating a batch job via SM36, it is possible to send the results via email (fill "spool list recipient").
    Is there a table where i can find the batch jobs which have the "spool list recipient" field filled?
    Thanks,
    P.

    Pete,
    In my system, I see only 2 values for this field. 'RECIPIENT' and BLANK. Please check if it the same with you, in case of more than these values, try to build your logic on ( not equal to RECIPIENT rather than non-blank).
    Even if these 2 values only, a job (with the same name) can be executed once with the spool list recipient ON and another without spool recipient. So, be careful in your checking that the record you are checking with the non-blank value of  RECOBJTYPE is the SAME execution as in SM37. Use fields SDLSTRTDT, SDLSTRTTM in table TBTCO for it.
    Hope you get my point.

  • Search help list recorder limited

    Hi,

The value table is KNA1.It is SAP standard search help name. But it have one limited. It is only list the first 500 records. Could you tell me how to set let the list record more than 500? Thanks.

    Hi,
    read this one it will help u.
    To avoid the standard F4 help to be show, insert the event PROCESS ON-VALUE-REQUEST in the  program and add a field
    statement for the field that should trigger the F4 help. In the mdoule called from PROCESS ON-VALUE-REQUEST, call function module
    F4IF_FIELD_VALUE_REQUEST.
    Example 1 - Dynpro
    process before output.
    process after input.
    PROCESS ON VALUE-REQUEST.
      FIELD it_zsd00003-prctr MODULE f4_help_for_pctr.

    NOTE:
    Tabname/fieldname is the name of the table and field
    for which F4 should be shown.
    Dynprog/Dynpnr/Dynprofield are the names of the Progran/Dynpro/Field
    in which the f4 value should be returned.
    Value: The value of the Dynpro fuield when calling the F4 help.
    You can limit the values shown, by inseting a value in this parameter
    e.g  '50*' to show only values beginning with 50

  • ALV Block list. Field name at user command not getting populated

    Hi All,
    I'm trying to use ALN block list. Field catalog is built using the REUSEALVMERGE FM.
    I've put hot spot on some fields. When I'm trying to capture the data when user clicks on the hotspot field the structure that comes in the user_command subroutine is not getting populated with the fieldname. But it is getting populated with the tabname and value is also coming properly.
    FORM user_command
              USING
              ucomm    TYPE sy-ucomm
                    selfield TYPE kkblo_selfield.
    What could be the possible reason?
    I appreciate your inputs.

    Hi Surya,
             Did you find the solution for this?
    Best Regards.

  • How to get a List of fields in view

    Hello,
    There are views with a lot of fields from various context nodes in the view.
    Is there any way to get a good list of the fields that are used in the view?
    When I use show technical details of the fields in the the configuration tab I can get details of one field only
    and I can't see the whole name of the field.
    What I am searching is a list of all fields in a view. like in ecc6.
    Thanks,
    Sara

    Hi,
    Use get_form_fields to get the list of fields in a view.
    DATA:   lt_event_items       TYPE tihttpnvp,
                 ls_event_items       TYPE ihttpnvp.
      CALL METHOD request->get_form_fields
        CHANGING
          fields = lt_event_items.
    (code)
    table lt_event_items will have list of fileds displayed in the view. The field names will be prefixed with component_id. For example,
    c18_w56_v57_v58_condrecord_struct.org node =>  c18_w56_v57_v58 - component_id, condrecord - context node, struct.org_node - field name

  • Obtain list of fields for marketing attributes against BP

    Hi All,
    I'm working on a data extraction routine for BP data and need to be able to allow the user to select which fields will be extracted and added to the output file.  I've got some standard code that so far uses a data dictionary structure to create a pop up of fields with checkboxes so the user can select which fields to output - it uses FM DDIF_FIELDINFO_GET to simply list all fields for a given structure.
    My requirement is to extend this so that all possible marketing attributes against business partners are also available for selection in the field list.  I guess to do this I need to find a way of reading all fields defined for any BP type attribute sets.
    Does anyone know of any FM's that do this or have any ideas around tables I can read?
    Note: I'm after the atttribute names not the actual values.
    Thanks,
    Gareth.

    Hi Gareth
    I think the function modules in group CRM_MKTPFTPL_OW are really valuable.
    Maybe you could call CRM_MKTPFTPL_GETLIST and then call CRM_MKTPFTPL_READ_CHR for each one.
    They aren't called by Pratik's FM's though .
    Cheers
    Dom

    Dear Experts.
    Report in BEx Analyzer us showing red "X" in the records field. Although there are figures in the field and is getting calculated in the overall result, but still the numbers donot appear.
    Kindly advise how to fix this.

    Please detail the KF formulae here..
    Any value divided by 0 is not defined.
    So if formula if its using division , you must use not div by 0 function. i.e.NDIV0 function

  • List of fields replicated in MM Purchase Order

    Hello,
    I am working on SRM 5 in extended classic scenario. I wanted to know if it exists a documentation listing the fields which are replicated from the SRM PO to the MM PO (long description, vendor material reference, manufacturer...)?

  • Info records field in Purchase Order

    How can we make info-record field mandatory for selected purchasing organization when creating Purchase Order using ME21N.

    I can think of 3 options:
    1) Use field settings if you want it mandatory for all purchasing organizations.
    2) Another way would be to create 2 document types - one with info record mandatory and other with info record optional. People purchasing for the purchasing organizations where info record is required will be authorized only for the first document type (where info record is mandatory)
    3) Use user exit EXIT_SAPLEBND_002 (the one for PO Release). This can be activated even if PO release is not active.

  • Capture the list of fields from Report Explorer?

    Is there a way to readily capture the list of fields used in a given report from the report explorer or field explorer?  I want to streamline my command to only select the fields in use for a given report, and it would be easier if I had a list for each.

    There are usually stored procedures or views available in the database that will list the fields in tables.  I don't think the API is consistent, though, so you should check your database reference.
    The other thing that you could do is use "select *" during development, then note which fields are checked in the field explorer (indicating it's used) and replacing the * with the list of fields once your more or less done with the report.
    Note that if you're not using an SQL command (selected a table instead), I'm pretty sure Crystal only requests the fields from the table that are used by the report.
