Live Report Update without submitting

How do I refresh the report base on something I just entered without submitting the page.
Say, i have a Select List and when I select something it requery the report based on that. I can easily do this with "Select List w/ Submit" but how can we do this using javascript or anything else?

I've seen this example before and it works great. But what I do not understand, is how you implement it. Is this report generated by the AJAX code or by Apex itself? Stated otherwise, whe n I have an existing report and want to update the contents with AJAX, is that what happens in you code? Or is the entire report generated by AJAX?

How To Use a Hidden Page Item within an SQL Report Query without Submitting

Using: Oracle ApEx 3.0.1
I have an sql report region that contains a hidden page item as part of the "where clause". My problem is, based on a value entered by the user, I need to assign this value enetered to my hidden item, so that it can be used within the where condition of my sql but this would need to be done without actually submitting the form.
At the moment, I can set the value via an on-demand process but my SQL is still not returing any values as the hidden page item within the query is not set (as page has not been submitted).
Can anybody please assist as I am not sure how to do this and whether in actual fact, this is possible to do, without having submitted the page.

You can set a session value using a dummy ajax call e.g:
Add the following to the 'Function and Global Variable Declaration' region

How to update session state from form field values without submitting page?

Hi,
I am new to Oracle APEX. I am using Oracle Apex 4.2 on Oracle 11g release 2. The problem is that when I am entering data on a form, when I enter a value in one field and move to the next field, how can I use the value of first field in the validation procedure of next field? I know that when we enter data in fields, the session state is not updated with these values until we submit the page... right... but I have seen that if there is a control of List box type, then Apex gives an option "Action When List changes" where we can choose option to update corresponding session state field with the value of list box item, without submitting the page.
Now my questions is why this option is only available for List box items? why not for other item types like Text box, Check box,... ? can someone please help me with this?
(the issue with update of session state depending on page submitting, is that we need a complete network round trip from client to server in order for it. However if we can update session state variables without submitting page, then we can avoid this network traffic).
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Create a dynamic action on change and run a PL/SQL process there with the following code:
BEGIN
NULL;
END;Page items to submit > your item.
This will set the session state without submitting the form.

Is there a way to update app without submitting to AppStore

First of all, a FYI for you guys who are waiting too long for Apple review team, you may request the team to review your app quicker rather than waiting for 10 days. You may find additional info here: App Review - Support - Apple Developer
However, I seen some games that had big updates by just downloading and restarting the app, no update from AppStore needed. So how did they do that? Can we create a container and download the swf elsewhere from the internet and deploy in our app?

Apple do have an "expedited" option, but you can only use that a few times. Eventually they turn you down.
I believe that no app is able to download interpreted code, but, you could be smart in your programming. You could have exchangeable graphics that can be replaced by online versions, or you could control the flow of an app with XML, that you can replace from an online update.
I think that's what other apps are doing, to make it seem like you got an update without going to the app store.
Another thought, you could have the future content in the app already, and then reveal that to the user over time.

As an Administrator, I'd like to deploy updates to my users when I need to (i.e. after testing etc.) rather than users downloading updates for themselves.

I upgraded the site and set the contact form to "don't use a workflow". But now my admin account isn't getting an email notification when a user uses the form.
The knowledgebase describes what I want, "If your site plan doesn't include a customer database, the form data is emailed to you."

How to close popup with af:commandButton without submitting values?

I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.2.1
My popup has few af:inputText components with value attribute binded to view scope variables.
I set those view scope variables in backing bean before showing popup.
When I change values of input fields and click cancel (af:commandButton, partialSubmit=true, immediate=true), popup is closed.
Then, when I show popup again, values that I changed are visible although I set new values to view scope variables in backing bean before showing popup again.
I noticed that when I close popup using close icon in upper right corner of popup everything works fine.
Also, I tried using dialog cancel button and it also works fine.
Is there a way for closing popup using af:commandButton but without submitting values?
In previous releases of JDeveloper (<= 11.1.1.5) I didn't noticed this problem.

See the documentation of af:popup for that. Canceling a popup is a pure client-side operation. No event is sent to the server. No submit. No need to reset anything. That's basically what the built-in cancel button does as well.

This is only a simple sales receipt application that uses dgv and textboxes to push its data to dataset to the crystal report, a simple one but there are instances that it is very slow.
But I'm having trouble implementing this using SSRS, since I'm only new to this one, wherein I created the report using report wizard, with two button options inside the form for print preview or direct print selection. Actually, it is very easy to implement
with print preview because it uses reportviewer. My problem is that how can I print the report directly without using a reportviewer?

Here is what you do:
Open iTunes.
Plug in your ipod.
hold control and shift at the same time. this stops your ipod from updating automatically. Hold this until your ipod is finished docking.
Then go to edit>preferences>ipod
then change the setting from update automatically to update manually.

How can I use Office Update without the Office CD? On the microsoft website I've clicked the options which mean I shouldn't need the CD (which wasn't supplied with the laptop), but poartway through updating the service pack I get a request for the Office 2000 Professional CD.

Did you mean a Office or One Note?
As far as I know the One Note is a part of the Recovering Image and the CD is not delivered with the unit. Furthermore the Toshiba units are not delivered with the Office 2000 software.
Nevertheless, did you check the update function in the Help i.e. in Word?
